Save file to database using WEBUTIL
Hi,
I have used webutil_file_transfer.Client_To_AS_with_progress to upload files from client to Application Server using Forms 10g
However, now i want to save file in database and not upload to database.
Apart from the problem, I was wondering if there is documentation available on WEBUTIL
Please help
I want to store the file in the database as a BLOB.
Earlier I was uploading to Application Server.
I had used webutil_file_transfer.Client_To_AS_with_progress to upload to Server,
I hope there is a procedure / function similar to Client_To_AS_with_progress in the webutil_file_transfer package

Hi All,
I am trying to do one of the End-To-End scenarios which are described in the following document published by Mukeshlal Parida https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/5474f19e-0701-0010-4eaa-97c4f78dbf9b
I followed the steps described for the File to Database Using BPM.
I created a software component File Workshop and DB Workshop and created the respective products. I created the appropriate namespaces under the specified products. However, when I go to create the container elements in the Integration Process, I am only able to view and add the Abstract interfaces created in the specific software component where I am creating the integration process.
The instructions are not clear. I am on XI 3.0 (SP16). Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
SandeepHi,
U can use the abstract interfaces in BPM.
U have to define all the Interfaces as Abstract and use in BPM transformations. The Container elements are specific to the Software component.

I need information on how I can save a file into database (Oracle 9i), preferably from Oracle Forms
Hello,
You did not provide your Forms version, but, if you are using version greatest than 6i you can use the Webutil file transfert function to put local or server side files into the database.

Save File as SVG using Illustrator
Generous Helper,
I am trying to save the file as .SVG format using illustrator..
Openin in notepad the saved file shows the elements and attribute like:
<svg version="1.1" id="Layer_1" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" x="0px" y="0px"
width="800px" height="600px" viewBox="0 0 800 600" enable-background="new 0 0 800 600" xml:space="preserve">
<rect x="132.286" y="53" fill="none" width="161.429" height="17.857"/>
<text transform="matrix(1 0 0 1 132.2856 61.52)" font-family="'MyriadPro-Regular'" font-size="12">Name</text>
<rect x="137.286" y="87.286" fill="none" width="102.143" height="10.714"/>
</svg>
I like to see the elements and attributes like:
<g transform="translate(100,100)">
<text id="TextElement" x="0" y="0" style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:24"> Name !
<animateMotion path="M 0 0 L 100 100" dur="5s" fill="freeze"/>
</text>
</g>
The difference between both the files is
text id="TextElement" , so that I can use this as pointer for data to enter.
can someone tell me how I can achieve the code no# while saving the file as .SVG using Illustrator. While writing of my own .SVG file like code # 2 , I can write it and it is very well valid.
But I want illustrator write me the same style of code. I played around various options but every time I am getting the same style of code ( Code # one) using illustrator.
Thanks,Hi —
I'm a newbie to the forum reply system, but I try to check in for good info quite often.
If you are going to work with SVG and text input-output, you should be using the Variables palette and a schema architecture for your data. Start with reading the Help PDF "Data-driven graphics". There are a lot of considerations, up-front decisions and setup to prepare, but the pay-off is worth it. Also see the "About data sets" and "About variable libraries". Since this is an "open standard" there are element and property rules that are out on the XML site (you probably are already aware of these) and can help when swapping one element's name for another if you need to transform the output on the fly. You can actually build database exchanges without paying for a proprietary conversion application by using XML — if both databases are XML-friendly.
I'm sure if you go out to an XML forum, there are folks out there that can help with the output; once the file is saved as an SVG with the appropriate element names and setup. A helpful hint is not to save with Illustrator editing options. It saves two files then: one in SVG and the other in Illustrator, along with other errata. You can still edit the file without that option by simply opening it in Illustrator at any time, although you will see it has been "dumbed-down" a bit. SVG is cool, but not as mature as it should be and it does odd outputs when there are a lot of layers or clipping paths. If you are using an earlier version of Illustrator, the text can be fractured into individual letters and would need to be re-entered. The KISS method is the best route, although I have seen some awesome animations using SVG. Also, there are rumblings that CS3 and 4 cannot be opened in some other applications... I'm still researching that one.
Whenever I plan XML text interchange, I approach it as a separate project from the actual graphic like an extension that can surround it. It doesn't matter which you do first, the graphic layout and then the text interchange or visa versa... as long as you see them both as equally time-consuming for the initial set-up. Just because it is easy to type in the text and see it output, doesn't mean it will bend to your needs without a well-thought-out plan.
Hope this is of some help.
You may want to check out http://www.svgopen.org and http://www.svgopen.org/2009/ and the latest http://twitter.com/svgopen/ and http://www.planetsvg.com - see who might be represented from Adobe Illustrator (or not) since they are no longer supporting SVG (this year, anyway). -

OutofMemory Error while sending file to database using Web services
I have a file of 30MB to be written to the MySQL database. I am doing this in Axis web services and it gives me the following error:
(I am using Tomcat as the application server and Apache as the web server, Axis 1.3 and MySQL standard 5.0.21 version. I have set the minimum and maximum heap size and it works well without using the web service (just uploading and downloading from the database using a simple java program). Another thing to notice is that I can send a file of almost 10MB size to the database using web service without any problem. But it doesn't work with the 30 MB .)

I didn't catch if you were using Java 1.5 or not. Prior to 1.5 the default maximum heap space was 64MB which with the overhead of the appserver might be your problem.
Take a look at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/vm/gc-ergonomics.html and the java -Xmx <size> command line option to change the default (I believe the size argument is in bytes, but don't hold me to that). I think you can pass that as a command line option to the startup script, but you should check the doco to see if it needs to be wrapped in some other arg etc.,
I seem to recall running into this same problem a few years back when I had a servlet doing some intense graphics processing on the fly and setting this option fixed the problem. -
Read XML file into databased using stored procedure
I need to read an xml file into my database using a stored procedure. I looked at a couple of tutorials, but I am kind of lost and am looking for some guidance. I will eventually need to only pull a handfull of the data in based on the USER ID. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have been given a schema file and an example file of how the data will me sent to me. The schema file is below:

How to restore a mysql dump file to database using java
hai friends,
i'm developing an application. in that i need to back up and restore the database. i'm using mysql.
in that i used a code to back up the db.. its working perfectly and the dump file is created perfectly..
but while trying to restore the dump file nothing is happening...
can anyone provide me a sample code to restore the dump to database using java code...
thanks in advance...The first, biggest mistake you made in the code is that you didn't read standard output and error from the process, and/or you're ignoring exceptions. Because if you did, you would have read error messages that would have given you a clue what's wrong. (either that, or you ignored the clues, or didn't understand them and failed to tell us what the error messages are)
The second mistake is that you invoked exec with the call that takes a single string, when that string includes whitespace not used as delimiters.
The third mistake was that you used a terrible subject line for your post. Your problem is that you're having trouble with Runtime.exec. The fact that it's about mysql isn't relevent.
The fourth mistake is that you didn't mention Runtime.exec at all until pushed. You should provide these details. When you try to self-diagnose something that you don't understand, and then hide information, you're just wasting everybody's time, including your won.
The fifth mistake is that you're using poor spelling.
The sixth mistake is that you still haven't said why you're doing this in Java. -

lahore,pakistanHi
You can retrieve the image from the database into a Forms image item, then use client_write_image_file to write this out to the client PC.

I am in a situation where I want the output of a interactive report in HTML format, but I do not wan't to download the files to my computer. I want to automate my process to display the report and save the file to database and to be attached to a email from Apex in a later stage.
Is this possible at all? tried different aproaches with saving data to clob and converting to blob, but it all look horrible for the end user.

How do I save multiple files from database using oracle forms?

I have a form containing a block of records with files set up in a tabular layout. Each row has a checkbox to indicate if that row is selected. What I want to do is allow the user to save each file from checked rows to a directory of their choice on their machine when a button is pressed. Is it possible to do this in one command at the same time using WEBUTIL_FILE to save all the selected files to the same directory, or would I need to loop through each row and call the save dialog each time?
Thanks.I'm not sure I follow. The SAVE_DIALOG is building the path including the filename where the files will be saved. If I have 5 different files I want to save at the same time and only show the dialog once, I will only have a path for one of the files. How could I loop through the rest afterwards?

Error while saving file to database using messageFileUpload
Hi,
In my OA Page I have messageFileUpload to save the file to a database. I have a custom stored procedure that I call in the AM that takes the file as BLOB and insert it into the table. My problem is for smaller files it works fine but as soon as I try to save a larger file i.e. over 0.5 MB I am getting the following errors. Sometime I get size error sometimes I get unreasonable conversion requested error. How can I solve this so it takes any size of file and save it.
Application: FND, Message Name: FND_GENERIC_MESSAGE. Tokens: MESSAGE = java.sql.SQLException: Data size bigger than max size for this type: 2251264;
Application: FND, Message Name: FND_GENERIC_MESSAGE. Tokens: MESSAGE = java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable conversion requested ; Here is what I have in my Controller code snippet
BlobDomain uploadedByteStream = (BlobDomain)fileUploadData.selectValue(null, fileName);
Serializable[] parametersFile = { fileName, contentType, fileSize, uploadedByteStream };
Class[] paramTypesFile = { String.class, String.class, Long.class, BlobDomain.class };
am.invokeMethod("saveFile", parametersFile, paramTypesFile);Here is the AM method that also invokes the Stored Procedure and pass the file as BLOB to save
conn = (OracleConnection)dbTransaction.getJdbcConnection();
cStmt = (OracleCallableStatement)conn.prepareCall(
"{CALL FILE_PKG.saveFile(:1, :2, :3, :4)}");
cStmt.setString(1, fileName);
cStmt.setString(2, fileContentType);
cStmt.setNUMBER(3, new NUMBER(fileSize.intValue()));
cStmt.setBinaryStream(4,uploadedFile.getBinaryStream(),fileSize.intValue());Any help is appreciated.
ThanksI was able to resolve it and used the below code just in case if anyone else trying to save the BLOB
byte[] barray = uploadedFile.getBytes(0,fileSize.intValue());
oracle.sql.BLOB data = oracle.sql.BLOB.createTemporary(conn, true, BLOB.DURATION_CALL);
data.putBytes(1,barray);
cStmt.setBlob(4,tempBlob);
