Save in excel from forms6i

Hi,
I´d like to know if I can put in Excel with DDE package some information in one workbook with many(or more than one)worksheet.
If no, how can I do it?
Thanks,
Miani.

I have 3 tables and I´d like to export to excel with one workbook and 3 worksheets.
I have already tried for example:
DDE.Execute(ConvID,'[ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets.Add.Name = "CONS_VERBA"]',1000);, but not success.
Please, anybody know how can I do it?
Thanks a lot,
Miani.

    In that huge folder I only need the .xlsb files opened and saved to .xlsx not the others, in case that wasn't clear above.

  • Import  from Excel and then again save back excel; using Form 6i in apps.??

    Hi,
    I need to do following ;
    Unix OS :- here exel files is present
    Forms:- Need to read those excel from unix system and if require modify it in the apps form itself and then validate those and then place it again in the unix system.
    This need to implement in oracle apps. Any idea how to do?
    Subir

    No..!!!
    The actual requirment is ;
    there are files stored in the Unix OS.
    Currently we need to validate and then transfer one by one.
    During validation if any error is occur then user want to modify during validation only; he dont want to back to the excel file and modify.
    So here; if validation failed, then need to open that excel files from oracle form and the modify the error, and then saved it.

  • Is it possible to save / extract data from a MS SQL database 2008 using lookout 6.2?

    Is it possible to save / extract data from a MS SQL database 2008 using lookout 6.2?
      Now a days we are saving / extracting data in a excel spreadsheet, but we would like to do that using a database because it is better.

    You can use ODBC connection to work with SQL Server database.
    Use SQLExec object to execute the SQL statement. Here is a KB about the SQL statement.
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4ADEEA04CD24AE0B862565E20002A16F?OpenDocument
    To write data to spreadsheet is more straightforward because Lookout has built-in spreadsheet object. But you need to write SQL statement by yourself to interact with other database.
    To read the data back is the same way. Just use "select" SQL statement to query. You can use Datatable object to query.
    The "Data Source" can be "DSN = data source name;". The data source name is configured in Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Data Sources(ODBC).

    error2:export failed (dma0005)
    I tried all options to fix this and also I looked for an dialog box " export to external file format " in Business Objects inorder to copy the report data to COPY TO DDE option but I didn't find any aforementioned dialog box
    Please provide me the solution to fix the issues
    Kind Regards,

    Hi Denis,
    Yes,all reports based on this particular universe have this problem
    Are you telling me to isolate the object from the universe that is creating problems and then run the report ?
    Also, I am unable to find the option from  menu items in Full client BO 5.1 to open the dialog box with name " export to external file format ". Can you please tell me where I can find this?

  • Help! My boss wants to Save as Excel!

    My boss wants our application to be able to save data directly from our application to multiple file types, this includes Excel, word.... etc, basically every type that the windows SaveAs functionality allows. Is this even possible? Even if I can not include the ability to save to all of those types, I get the feeling that saving it to excel would appease her. I would really appriciate the help and if anyone is from St. Louis, lunch is on me!

    well it depends on what you want to do :
    1 - if you want to export the data to a file that Excel can read, have alook to
    this documented example (it works, I am allready using it):
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/javatips/jw-javatip77.html
    2 - if you want a more powerfull and full integartion with microsoft tools you can
    use JIntegra ( not a freeware ) have a look this other link :

    I am not in St. Louis , so you can save your money :-)

  • BusinessObjects SDK - Save as Excel functionality

    Hi Experts,
    I have a question for anyone experienced with the SDK and the BOBJ apis. We are presenting WEBI reports to Partners, so we want to display the reports without the toolbars and only show the reports. We do not want to confuse them will all the extras :). We have done this, but, we have now been asked to provide the "save as excel" functionality to the users while still keeping all the toolbars hidden. So our goal is to just add our own button that will call the same functionality as file -> save as excel. Does anyone know if there is a specific function we can call from the apis that will perform this action?
    Second, and not sure if this is possible or not (hope it is). We also have some xcelsius reports displayed to the user in flash. We would also like to add the same functionality, giving the user the ability to click a button and save as excel. Does anyone know if there is a specific function within the xcelsius specific classes that would allow us to do this as well?
    Thanks!
    -Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
    If you are using the Business Objects Enterprise BI 4.0 then you can modify the crystal report viewer format list where you  can export to any particular format.
    Please refer to the below mentioned Blog by Ted Ueda :
    [SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise BI 4.0 - Modify the Crystal Reports Viewer Export Format List|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/22845]
    As mentioned, you could only allow  the excel format to be exported by your customers.

  • How to save an excel file as CSV with semi-colon as data separator?

    We are creating a flat data file to load the flat file data to our BW system with Excel.  When we save the file, there are three kinds of CSV types for selecting from the "Save as type" list box:
    CSV (Comma delimited)
    CSV (Macintosh)
    CSV (MS-DOS)
    There is no CSV (semi colon delimited) type.  If we pick CSV (Comma delimted) as the type, then when clicking the "Preview ..." picture icon under the "DataSource/Trans. Structure" tab of the InfoSource for this flat file (with the CSV radio button checked the Data separator default is ";"), the File Upload Preview window shows the data is messed up that some columns of the excel flat file are combined into one column.
    Since the save type we picked is "CSV (Comma delimited)", then we try to change the default Data separator from ";" to "," in the preview selection screen, but still not helpful!
    How to resolve the above problem?
    Thanks

    Hi Kevin,
    This "," is defined in your windows setting. If you want to have ";" as separator then go to control Panel, select Regional Options, go to Numbers Tab and define the List separator as ";". After that when you will save your excel file as CSV(MS-DOS) it will have ";" as separator. This will make sure that the amounts are not broken in to two different fields while loading.
    Else if you keep "," as separator then you can also go into the Excel and define all number fields as Number without thousand separator.
    Let me know if you have any doubts in this.
    Regards,
    Rohit

    Hello nmohamm,
    To examine the conversion settings in Acrobat, do the following:
    1. Select Edit > Preferences
    2. In the preferences dialog, select the "Convert From PDF" category.
    3. In the "Converting From PDF" list, select "Excel workbook".
    4. Click the "Edit Settings" button to view your conversion settings.

  • How do I save a excel file to be compatible...

    How do I save a excel file from a pc to be compatible with my Mac?

    Hi juicebars,
    iWork is a productivity suite for Macs running OS or iThings running iOS. With a MacBook Pro you will need the OS version.
    iWork consists of:
    Pages, a word processor and page layout app (page layout mimics a drawing app). Pages can import Microsoft Word documents and you can edit and save them. Also Export as MS Word, PDF, plain text, RTF or ePub.
    Numbers, a spreadsheet app that mimics a database. Numbers can import Microsoft Excel or CSV documents and you can edit and save them. Also Export as MS Excel, CSV or PDF.
    Keynote, a presentation app. Keynote can open Microsoft Powerpoint. I don't use Keynote, so I can say no more.
    You can buy the iWork suite from the App Store, or buy Pages, Numbers and Keynote separately.
    There are some minor conversion glitches when converting between MS Office and iWork. If you are continually converting, it is best to buy Office or LibreOffice for Mac.
    iWork does not take kindly to huge documents.
    However, I find that Numbers and Pages for Mac OS to have a sweetly intuitive way of doing what I want.

    Ian.

  • Security message on exporting grid to excel from webpage

    I am exporting data to excel from grid on a webpage. I have written following code:
    gv.DataSource = resultlist;
    gv.DataBind();
    Response.ClearContent();
    Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=Test.xls");
    Response.ContentType = "application/excel";
    //Ccreate string writer object and pass it to HtmlTextWriter object
    StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
    HtmlTextWriter htw = new HtmlTextWriter(sw);
    gv.RenderControl(htw);
    Response.Write(sw.ToString());
    Response.End();
    Code is executing correctly. But when I open this excel, it is giving me a warning message which says, "The file you are trying to open, "Test.xls", is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not
    corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?"
    File gets opened when I select "Yes" on this message box, but I don't want to get this message box. Is there any work-around to get rid of it? When I selected "Save As" option of this file, I found that default type of the file was Webpage.
    How can we get this default type as "xls or xlsx"? I think this problem will be resolved when we will get this default type as "xls or xlsx".

    Alternatively you could use OLE2 to do the bulk of the importing and exporting and then use the webutil file transfer functions to move the file to the client and then simply open the file there...That might be more efficient in terms of performance as well.
