Save PDF in KM - Personal Documents of user with Web Dynpro ABAP (WDA)

Hi Experts,
I have a WebDynpro ABAP Application, running in my Portal, which generates (after some input steps) a pdf (Adobe Form) as confirmation. Of course the user can save and print the pdf-form by himself, but I would like to save the PDF automatically to his "Personal Documents Folder" in KM to "archive" it.
Does anyone know how this might work? Is there a standard-way to do this?

We figured it out. We had been using an application parameter WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION to prevent users from hiding UI elements on the view. After upgrading to 7.31 this also prevented re-arranging columns and adjusting column sizes directly on the the grid. We replaced this parameter with WDENABLEUIELEMENTSHIDE instead to prevent users from hiding elements, but it now allows moving columns with drag/drop and resizing.

I found how to create portal user using web dynpro java, but i could not find regarding web dynpro abap.

Userid of a Portal-user in Web Dynpro ABAP

Dear colleagues,
we want to migrate our application from BSP to Web Dynpro ABAP and I'm looking for a procedure how I can get the userid of a Portal-user in Web Dynpro ABAP which is running inside an iView ?
In BSP I used iView application parameter user_id and in the BSP the event handler for data retrieval with:
userid = runtime->server->request->get_form_field( 'userid' ).
Found a lot of entries how to do it in Java but no one for WDA ?

Hi Michael,
Actualy it is not so trivial. You have some options:
1) In case user_id is parameter of iView you can read URL parameter like described here Webdynpro ABAP url-parameters
2) In case user_id is not iView parameter you can use usuall ABAP sy-uname system variable.
But pay attantion that it is not really EP user. Here we have 2 options: user mapping and SSO. In case of user mapping sy-uname will contain R/3 user which is mapped to EP user. In case of SSO sy-uname will contain same user name like in EP, because by using SSO user must ne the same on issuing and accepting systems.

BADI for changing Appraisal document application name for Web dynpro ABAP

For Appraisal document customizing through PHAP_CATALOG_PA, We have BADI HRHAP00_BSP_TMPL to change the BSP application name which can be used in Web layout for output display. Using this we can change application name from HAP_DOCUMENT to custom BSP application name
Similarly, what is the BADI for changing Web dynpro ABAP applictaion name? Currently its triggering HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT.

I don't know, if there is any chance to get the Webdynpro application name. At least in the ABAP System fields is no information about the webdynpro application name.
One remark: I have allways problems with BAPIS / BADIS that behave different depending on the caller. Could it be a good idea to pass some information through the interface / parameters?

How can I get the missing authorization objects for a Web Dynpro ABAP application?

What about using SU53 again - just log into ABAP system and use the F5 - "other use"r option to select the user having the issues.
There is unfortunately no way to see this as standard from the WDA application.

Not able to upload file in DMS(Document Mang. system) using Web dynpro ABAP

I am facing a problem while uploading the file into the DMS ( Document Management System ) from Webdnrpo .
I am using the BAPI - BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 to create the document .
CASE - 1
when i am providing the storage category mention below and no data carrier1
ls_documentfiles-storagecategory = 'ZHMEL_CS'. it is not able to upload the document in the DMS system and when i check
in the debugg mode it giving error as ""Error while checking in and storing: C:\TEST.TXT "" .
CASE - 2
When i am not using the storage category and providing the the data carrier as default

Web Dynpro Abap: Select-Options: Save Selection Data

Hello,
I am using select-options in web dynpro abap. Need to add a feature where the user can save his selection values as a variant.
All I can think of is getting all the selection values and saving these into a Z table.
Can you suggest a better way?

Hi Irene,
Alas, it's currently not possible. You could write your own wrapper though adding a save button. Inside of the action handler you could retrieve the range tables of all fields, convert their content to a structure you like and save it a fitting db table. My suggestion is to use XML and a DB table with a XSTRING field in the data section to store the range table values.
Using personalization will allow you to customize your ui and to hide certain select option fields.

Unable to map the portal user with back end user through web dynpro coding

Hi All,
I 've a portal user which is mapped to back end user by system in the portal.
i 'm able to get the portal user from web dynpro application.
But unable to get the mapped back end user
this is my code

following is the error reported .
The project was not built since its classpath is incomplete. Cannot find the class file for javax.xml.soap.SOAPMessage. Fix the classpath then try rebuilding this project.

Hi Sanjay,
   request component need to be initialized before using it. Include these lines before ur code.
IPortalComponentRequest request = (IPortalComponentRequest) this.getRequest();
String mappedPassword = null;
String mappedUserId = null;

Dynamically generate PDF with web dynpro

Is it possible to generate a PDF in web dynpro abap without using the interactive form UI element ? In other words just take the data in my context and convert that into a xstring pdf using a predefined template and interface?

Strange problem of Pdf downloading with Web Dynpro

Hi, experts, I have to setup a project to realize pdf downloading with web dynpro. But unluckily, I have tried all the methods in this froum ,there's really strange problem .Because when I click the link of Download UI link, there's no reaction at all, I really don't know why.Below is the codes I used , can anyone help me ? thank you very much!

"Pdfsource" is the context value attribute of type binary.And Bin_File is the xstring type parameter from my RFC contains pdf content.
I used two views and one customer-controller . I put some value in the first view to set search condition.and the second then appears and have the download UI element. Are there any additional codes I should use? pls help!

Cannot download .pdf files and word docs from KM using Web Dynpro

Dear Portal Gurus,
Using KM API, I am trying to download, documents from KM in my Web Dynpro Application. But .pdf files and word docs with screenshots are not getting retrieved from KM. Word docs opens with no content and Adobe opens with an error saying "Either it is a damaged file or It is not a supported file".
I am using the following KM service to download the content.

Which web browser are you using to view the PDF? Safari 5.1.8
When you open the PDF in Adobe Reader add-in you will either see a floating toolbar

Mass upload & Download of PDFs in Web Dynpro ABAP

Hi All,
Is it possible to download multiple PDF's at one go ? for example if you have a Table UI control where each row has one clickable link that generates a PDF using WebDynpro ABAP Application, we want to enable multiselect property of Table UI and provide Mass Download Button control on click of which all selected rows should generate PDF and then get dowloaded to a specific location on machine (c:/). or if there is any other alternative possible ?similarly for Mass Upload we wish to multi select PDFs and upload them to R/3 at one go ?
please let me know if such thing is possible ? if yes is it a good option to have ? as we have users who have to upload these PDF one by one and they wish if they could simply select all PDFs at one go and click Mass upload..Note that there are some validation that we perform once we upload PDF before posting PDF data to backend.

You simply use the CL_ABAP_ZIP class to combine the multiple binary strings of the word files together.
data izip type ref to cl_abap_zip.
data zip_xstring type xstring.
create object izip.
loop at ifiles assigning <Wa_file>.
izip->add( name = <wa_file>-filename
content = <wa_file>-filecontent ).
endloop.
zip_xstring = izip->save( ).
