Save to cameraroll nightmare :(

i used the above code to save a screen shot to iphone cameraroll . how ever when loading the frame the image is saved automatically .
thats not what exactally i want .
i want to create a button when clicked then image is taken and saved .
one more issue : image background comes white and text doesnt appear on the image taken but the code i used .
var cameraRoll:CameraRoll = new CameraRoll();      var bitmapData:BitmapData = new BitmapData(stage.stageWidth, stage.stageHeight);     bitmapData.draw(stage);     cameraRoll.addBitmapData(bitmapData);

surprising, usually things work in Release and may not in Debug : ).
try placing the try-catch block and/or attach ErrorEvent listeners (around the code saving to camera roll).
also monitor logcat content during this operation for any errors.

  • Auto-Save and Auto-Recovery

I hope the is a differnence between auto-save (as listed in you document properties) and Auto-Recovery (as set in Prefs). I would like some "protection" but I don't want flash saving over my file unless I tell it to save. I got burn last night while "experimenting" and and did a "revert" only to find that flash had saved over my file, what a pain.  I went to find the "recovery" file only to not find one anywhere. My search on the net are conflicted with wheather or not these 2 features are the same. In my case both items where checked and both set to 10min (the default). soooo....
Please tell me that Auto-Recovery is different, is that it doesn't save over my file, ie it keeps a real back-up someplace, AND where i can find this "recovery" file. ?
This feature seems strange, why not do a std auto back-up to a user selected number of versions in a user selected location ?
    Thanks
    Joel

Thanks. After poking around for a while I kinda figured this out. I was just glad to find out I could get some kind of "back-up" function from Auto Recovery, because "Auto Save" is a nightmare. I can't understand where anyone would want to use this feature at all. Anything that saves over what your working on before your ask for the file to be saved is looking for trouble. I found it out the hard way. I had "auto Save" on and after messing around trying a few different things, none of which worked or I liked, I thought I would simply close and re-open the original file only to find "auto save" had saved over my original file. I can't see any place where this feature would be anything but a pitb. If they want a auto save feature it should be saving versions of the original (up to a user specified number of instances) in the seperate folder. Never under any curcumstances should the original file be saved over unless the users presses SAVE. Auto recovery would be more useful if it didn't erase everytime you restarted the app. Flash needs to look at the back-up and versioning systems that AE and PPro use.
It's one of those things that bother you about the whole "suite" concept. Adobe owns all these apps and while some of them do play well together to an extent, for the most part it is still a collection of indiviuals. While there have been some changes to get the "look" of the apps to be close, the actual functioning of the UI in the differnt apps isn't where it needs to be. There needs to be a Suite "czar" that makes all the apps do std UI things the same using the same keys etc. for example AE, PPro, Flash, Photoshop, fireworks, all use different keys to zoom in/out or of your image/stage/comp/viewer/monitor window ie main workspace or to enable the mouse "wheel" for zooming.  PPro still refuses to use the spacebar to toggle the hand tool like every other "suite app". anyway. a std system for back-up and versioning is need across the suite.
    thanks

  • Troubleshooting Guide To Boot Camp 2.1

Troubleshooting Guide To Boot Camp 2.1
With a Mac Book Pro Os X Leopard and Windows XP Pro. I am providing this guide because I spent literally days fixing various problems most related to bad drivers. If I can save you the Nightmare I had it will be worth my time to write this guide for you!
    Install Windows XP on FAT32
While using Mac if you ONLY want to be able to read XP files (NTFS or FAT32) then skip this section because OS X Leopard is able to correctly detect NTFS and FAT32 disks in READ ONLY mode.
However if you want to be able to read & write XP files (NTFS or FAT32) in Mac then you would install a program like Paragon NTFS or NTFS-3G. However once you do this you will experience this Problem:
Windows partition missing from Mac 'startup disk' menu when using NTFS-3G or Paragon NTFS in Mac (Bootcamp 2.1 fails to fails to show windows disk in startup menu after installing NTFS-3G or Paragon NTFS)
It is unclear who is to blame for this bug. Both Paragon and NTFS-3G DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX the problem so the finger is pointed at this being an Apple Boot Camp bug! Don't hold your breath for a bug fix from Apple because I saw people have been having this problem for several years. It would be nice if the Apple cared a bit more about the Windows people they are trying to win over but anyway we are greatful for Boot Camp (even if it is as buggy as ****).
First my personal experience, I had it working perfectly before and after loading NTFS-3G onto my Macbook. I also had it working perfectly with Paragon NTFS. Then after a few months I reinstalled XP. Suddenly it no longer worked! Very fustrating when you KNOW it can work perfectly. It took me several days to figure out that this due to the fact that I had first installed XP and formated as FAT32 but the second time had installed XP and formated as NTFS!!
ONLY KNOWN Solution for this problem :
Format XP using FAT32. Apple understands FAT32 and everything will work as normal!
Do not format using NTFS as Apple does not understand it and XP will be missing from the 'startup disk' menu!
NTFS users can use this work around solution :
Install Paragon NTFS and use Paragon to set your boot partition and then reboot.
    The least desirable solution :
Hold the ALT key down while booting and choose XP.
    Install Boot Camp version 2.1
Using the the disc that comes with your Apple Mac Book Pro.
After Installation update the following drivers to these versions or newer :
    Broadcom 802.11 Wireless (5.10.91.8) (4321AG) (*)
    Realtek HD Audio R2.27 (5.10.0.5874) (2009-06-16)
    NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT v185.85 (07.05.2009) (v6.14.11.8585)
    Note (*)
Broadcom 802.11 Wireless drivers must be force installed to 4321AG. You can do this after installation by using the device manager and updating the driver to 4321AG. These drivers are 'borrowed' from another Broadcom 802.11 Wireless device since an update for the BCM 4328 drivers are not available from Apple or Broadcom.

Problems Fixed By Doing These Updates
Bootcamp KbdMgr.exe Latency Problems Slowing Your XP
I could not fix this problem but found an easy work around.
First check if your latency is being affected by the 'KbdMgr.exe' driver. Use 'DPC Latency Checker'. If the latency is green then you are OK! Skip Adead. If your latency is red then kill the 'KbdMgr.exe' in the task manager and check the latency. If it drops then this work around applies to you.
Open the Boot Camp directory in your Program Files directory. The real 'KbdMgr.exe' is renamed to something else like 'Boot Camp.exe' so that you can use it to boot back to Mac when you want to. Create a shortcut to the new name from from your desktop.
Then create an empty text file and give it the name 'KbdMgr.exe'. This will allow your PC to boot normally and run normally but will prevent Boot Camp loading automatically.
    Wireless Problems
The Broadcom 802.11 Wireless drivers for the (BCM 4328) are unstable and often loose connection or freeze or stop working for no reason. The driver that causes this problem is version 4.170.25.12 (20/09/2007) BCMWL5.SYS
    Sound Problems
The Broadcom 802.11 Wireless drivers (BCM 4328) drivers cause sound problems. Music or sound stutters or slows on playback. The driver that causes this problem is version 4.170.25.12 (20/09/2007) BCMWL5.SYS.
    Apple Touch Pad Problems
The drivers supplied on the Boot Camp disc from Apple work but do not install correctly for some unknown reason but the drivers do work once you get them installed. The driver install files are :
    AppleMultiTouchTrackPad.exe
    AppleTrackpad.exe
Your Apple Touch Pad Drivers are working when Device Manager shows :
    Apple MultiTouch
    Apple Multitouch Mouse
And you can do a right click by holding two fingers on the touch pad and doing a click
You can scroll up and down using two fingers. Adjust the wheel scrolling speed to one line at a time under mouse properties in the control panel.
To install the drivers correctly use the Device Manager and look under Human Interface Devices. You should find two Apple 'Touchpad' drivers listed with a (Yellow !) change these drivers to use the 'USB Human Interface Device' driver. Then install both 'Apple MultiTouch TrackPad' and 'Apple Trackpad'. This should automatically update the 'USB Human Interface Devices' to the correct working Apple drivers. This worked for me. However if you are still having problems you can try the General Driver Installation Tips.
    General Driver Installation Tips
Uninstall all devices drivers that are failing and reboot.
Make sure all non-Apple drivers are working properly. If not try and fix them first. I had a Logitech Mouse driver that was not working and suddenly when I fixed that at least half my Apple drivers started working. There was probably a resource conflict or some other relationship between the Logitech driver and the Apple Drivers.
If any driver is giving errors delete the physical driver file and reinstall! This is very useful when nothing you seem to do works. Sometimes you must physically delete the old driver file so that windows will correctly install the new one. I don't know the technical reasons for this only I found that this worked for me when I had to replace a Logitech Mouse driver after hours of fustration.
If you are busy in Device Manager and working with 'Human Interface Devices' and accidentally uninstall one of these drivers which are related to your mouse driver your mouse will stop working. Don't reboot, just unplug your mouse and plug it in again and Windows will autodetect a new mouse driver for you.
If you have been messing around and installing many drivers and your drivers still fail then try roll back the drivers until you can't anymore and then try one of the above methods again.

It does work, but I think it is hard based on scant details as to why or what is preventing BC 2.1 from updating. I will say that BC 2.1 came out last spring and there were lots of people having trouble and threads to prove it (and long ones).
You should have Apple Software Update Control Panel which had to update itself to 2.1.1 in order to receive future updates that way (catch 22 if you can't, seems to be only to prevent older owners using BootCamp 1.4 Beta from taking advantage of BootCamp 2.x).
Mac OS X DVD now being sold has 10.5.4 and BootCamp 2.1. I assume your DVD of Leopard is older?

  • Long memos get truncated in Palm Desktop

Hi, I am facing an issue which I find baffling and hope experts out there can help me.
I am using a Treo 680 unlocked version running Palm OS Garnet v.5.4.9
Few months back, I upgraded my laptop from Windows XP to Windows 7  (both are 32 bit).  I reinstalled Palm Desktop version 4.2 and it seemed to be apparently working, and I was very happy about it (quick install was not working but I was ok with it).   However, on closer examination, I noticed that long memos were significantly truncated on the Palm Desktop.  This is a serious problem as my memos on the device are not fully reproduced on the laptop.  Hence, if my device were to be lost or broken, I would have all the memos in my backup but many of them would be truncated and not complete.    Also, I am unable to "copy paste" the latter part of a long memo into an email or word document.
I  have only used one way synchronisation (ie from device to laptop) ever since I moved to Windows 7 because of long duration between backups and previous experience where 2 way syncronisation resulted in corruption of data on my device.   Fortunately I discovered this problem before I did my first 2 way syncronisation as this may result in my memos on the device becoming truncated as well.
If someone could help here, I would be really grateful.
    PS: some background info:
I have been on Palm platform right from 1996 with the Palm Pilot 5000, and then Treo 180 and then having been using Treo 680 for the last seven years and still going strong !
I know from my earlier experience that:
    - earlier devices and earlier Palm Desktop versions had a much smaller length limit per memo
    - in between, there was a situation where the device had a much bigger length limit per memo than the Palm Desktop at that time (i believe version 2 or version 4.1.4), and a long memo in the device would be split into multiple memos on the Palm Desktop with a sequential number added eg abc 1, abc 2, abc 3 etc
But since I went on Treo 680 and Palm Desktop ver 4.2  on a Windows XP 32bit laptop, I have had no such problem. It is only when I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 32 bit, that I am having this problem.  I find it baffling as I know that Palm Desktop ver 4.2 is capable of very long memos unlike some earlier version of Palm Desktop.
    Thanks very much in advance
    Regards

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for why your Memos get truncated in Palm Desktop in a Windows 7 machine.  I hvae Palm Desktop 6.2.2 on a Windows 7 and Windows 8 desktops and do not have that problem with Memos.  Maybe yours are much longer than mine.  Does everything else seem to work OK (other than QuickInstall)?
You could try a couple of things...but the first thing I would do is get a backup of your data onto an SD card with the free app called NVBackup.  Google it, download and install the nvbackup.prc file onto the Treo, then run a backup onto a card.  It will save you the nightmare of having to recreate your data if it were to be lost or corrupted somehow.  Now, the only thing you can do with that data from NVBackup is to restore it to the same or another (same) Palm device.  But at least it is saved.
Next thing you could try, without risk to any data, is to just email your Memos to yourself from your phone.  VersaMail lets you attach Memos to an email.  They should come through as .txt files which you can copy and paste into anything else you like.
You could also try installing Palm desktop 6.2.2 and, if your complete Memos do not appear, try re-syncing your Treo to the new desktop installation.

  • Window.opener question

    Hello,
I understand that the windeo.opener reference the parent window. My question is, if I have a parent page and this page calls page2 and page2 calls page3, how can I reference the parent page from page3?
I am using window.opener."the applet name" but I get an error:
    Something like:
The callee server is unavailable and has disappeared.
Can anyone help me solve this problem??? Please let me know if I can provide more information..

When working with javascript in multiple windows like this, it is very easy to get lost.
I think what you missed in accessing your applet was a "document" object.
There are a couple of hints for writing javascript:
1 - you can type javascript into the address bar like so:
    javascript:alert(window.opener)
You then follow the path to the object you want as long as you can. Build it up slowly, so you see where the chain breaks.
    javascript:alert(window.opener.opener)
    javascript:alert(window.opener.opener.document)
    javascript:alert(window.opener.opener.document.applets)
    javascript:alert(window.opener.opener.document.applets.length)
2 - General design: Don't reference stuff on other pages - call functions on the page only.
Rather than calling window.opener.opener.document.applets[0]. (ie referring to the applet from window 3)
    do this
window.opener.opener.saveApplet() (from window 3 call the saveApplet function on window1)
and on the first page have
    <script>
    function saveApplet(){
    document.applets[0]. ...
    </script>
This provides a sort of interface for other pages to use, so they don't have to refer to details on the page.
If you change the layout of the page, or the name of the applet etc etc, you only have this one place to modify it. It can save you a nightmare in javascript errors later on.
    Good luck,

  • Installing Netweaver or ERP 2005 ? confused....

Hi all, i have spent a few days trying to understand the landscape of this whole installation sequence.
I have installed SQL server 2005 on my Windows 2003. After that i'm completely lost on what i should do next. There seems to be information overload in the market place and i hope someone can assist in a high level manner.
My ultimate purpose is  to be able to implement the SAP Access Controls applications but even before that i want to sort out what i should be installing on the Netweaver portion.
After installing the DB, i started installing Netweaver 2004s SR2 and hit multiple differnet kinds of error. Then a ex-colleague told me that installing ERP 2005 will already include everything. Do i install all over again? Does ERP 2005 really contain 'everything'?
Hope someone can help shed some light and save me some nightmares....
    Cheers!!

Hi when you start the Installation from your INST Master
    select SCS (central service Instance)
this will install your Central Instance, Database Instance,  later on wht ever you want to install please check the boxes for Ex BI, PI, EP
you want with java, or only Abap you can select the parameters

  • PCP0- Error:Data gap -- There are results of the latest payroll

Hi experts! I need your help!
When viewing a receipt book (PCP0) in the HR account " personal loans", for a particular document number , I canu2019t view the detail of the accounts and it shows me the following error "Although the implementation NNNN has been productive, there are results of the latest payroll. Data gap. "
I noted that this is properly accounted for on the side of HR. Through the FB03 worked properly, we could see the details and the master account are not affected.

No, the only metadata that Kodo stores in a default configuration is a
list containing all the classes registered in the data store.
When developing with enhancers, it is relatively easy to get things into
a strange but seemingly valid state. Consider the following example:
    - create persistence-capable classes with non-private fields and
    compile them to .class files.
    - compile non-persistence-capable classes that access the
    non-private fields in a persistence-capable class.
    - enhance your persistence-capable classes, but not your
persistence-aware classes (the classes that directly access fields
    in persistence-capable classes)
At this point, you will likely get all sorts of class verification
errors at runtime, as the enhancer makes all JDO fields private, and
replaces accesses to the fields with enhancer-generated setters and
getters of the same visibility as the original field.
While this was not the exact problem that you saw, it is one example of
inconsistencies created by the build process. If you follow the
following steps, you should reduce mysterious Kodo-related errors:
    - make all your JDO fields private, and provide your own setters and
getters for them. By doing this, you will not have to jdo-enhance
any classes but the persistence-capable classes, as all non-pc
classes will access data through your methods. Note that you can
refer to private fields directly within the defining class just as
    usual.
    - recompile and re-enhance all the persistence-capable (and
persistence-aware, if any) objects each time you compile. This is
a bit slower, but can save lots of nightmares.
Also, I find that compiling all .class files into a separate build
directory (with 'jikes -d $builddir' or something) helps keep everything
working smoothly, as you know where all your .class files are and you
can easily blow them away if things start behaving strangely.

  • Window autosizing question

    Hello! I have a question:
When dialog window opens (action="dialog:someWindow") and size parameters is not set, window size calculates automatically. I have a page, which opens in dialog mode:
    <af:commandButton text="Show panel grid" actionListener="#{backing_dialog_window.actionShowPanelGrid}"/>
    <h:panelGrid columns="2" width="100%"

    ... some content
    </h:panelGrid>
    public void actionShowPanelGrid(ActionEvent ev) {
    this.act = 1;
When I press button, method actionShowPanelGrid sets act equals 1, panelGrid becomes visible. I should increase page height. How can I calculate it? The better way to solve this problem is call some function, which resizes this window automatically. How can I do this?

update to IOS 6 has been a nightmare. Facebook would allow me to save pictures unless I granted access to my foto album. Does this mean my pictures are going be planted all over the web? The safari keeps crashing and loading is slow. Most infuriating is that YouTube was deleted from my entertainment apps and I now have to pay for it if I want it back!! This is a bloody disgrace.

    Back up all data.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, follow the prompts to reinstall the OS. You don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.

  • Save images to CameraRoll - iOS

Hi, I'm currently using the code below to save a screenshot of my app in Flash AIR 2,6:
    var cameraRoll:CameraRoll = new CameraRoll();
    var bitmapData:BitmapData = new BitmapData(640,960);
    bitmapData.draw(MovieClip(root).stage);
    cameraRoll.addBitmapData(bitmapData);
The app is working fine, in fact it saves the screenshot in the iPhone's CameraRoll.
So... the question is "what's the problem?": The problem is that the definition of the saved shot is not very high.
It seems like it has got a low JPEG quality... is it possible? Is there a way to save a more defined image in the CameraRoll?
    Thank you all
    Brandon

I've developed an Android and iOS app that use the CameraRoll.addBitmapData()  method. On my HTC Incredible device, there is a lot of JPEG compression happening when the image is saved. But the image is still compressed on iPhone 4 devices too, but not to the same extent. Note that you should copy the image from the device to your PC to be 100% sure of the image quality, as I understand that sometimes the Android phones show a scaled-up thumbnail, rather than the actual image, when browsing images.
Either way, it would be nice if you could control the CameraRoll API so that the level of compression is configurable, but I don't think this is currently possible.

  • Save for the web jagged fonts nightmare

    Hi
Can't export anti-aliased smooth fonts using save for the web. The fonts are jagged.
How can save for the web the same smooth quality that I see on the screen?
Using Illustrator CS6 on Mac OS X 10.8.3
    Thanks.

What is the size of the art and are you enlargening it in the browser using CSS or manually adjusting the size?
In both cases I am using save for web. In the first instance I am exporting at 100% size, 200% size in the next instance. If you are resizing in CSS/manually, export from Illy at the desired size.

There is absolutely NO arrow and NO menu. Even when i turn ON 'Use Smart Addresses' There is absolutely Nothing in ANY menu that lets me save the address.
So how the frell is it even possible to save an address? So what, i have to send the email first then wait for someone to reply before i can select 'Add sender to AddressBook' from the message menu? This is madness and certainly not easy or intuitive. And what is the point of the AddressBook button in new messages toolbar? It does nothing. It opens a window and has no options to add an address or enter any details, only has 'TO' But i already know the address!!! Even if i create a new mail , I click the Address book button highlight the address in the list then click the 'TO' button, it does absolutely nothing, im expecting it to just add this address to the address field in the new mail i just created. I then closed the new mail, instead i click the AddressBook button in the main Mail app toolbar, i select an address in the resulting window, hit the 'TO" button, and mail creates a new message, but it doesn't add the address to the new mail's address field, nor does it close it self behind. What a disaster. I thought this was supposed to be simple and eazy, its a nightmare of a design.
I tried 10.4.5 and now just upgraded to 10.4.6 same problem.
Frustrated at the lack of intuitiveness.

Simplest I find is to send the message then look at it in your Sent mailbox. Move the mouse over the To: address and the address will get a blue bubble background with a drop-down arrow at the right end; click this and one of the options should be "add to address book".
When you start a new message, and click the Address book icon on its toolbar, an address book window should appear with all the entries (individual and group) from your address book. Selecting one (or several) of the entries and clicking to will add them to the To header in your new mail. Alternatively you can drag them. If this is not the behaviour you are seeing, please repost with a more descriptive subject. (It is better for both those trying to help, and those seeking solutions, if the problem described matches the subject!)
Once you have brought up the little address book window its design behaviour is to stay until you dismiss it; as you say, it does not close when you close the new email. At this stage, selecting an entry and clicking To should start a new email with the To header containing the selected email address. If this is not happening I suspect it is related to your previous problem, so I would include the description there.

  • «A Nightmare called 6210 Navigator» - Part II / Ex...

In the post - «A Nightmare called Nokia 6210 Navigator» - I explained my disappointment with this new navigator model, specially for people, like me, who own and intensively used the «6110» before.
In all fairness to all of you - Nokia included - I found I should explain myself better.
I have both 'Navigator Phones' - 6110 (with firmware 6.01) & 6210 (with Firmware 3.08, updated first to 3.25 and now to 4.13, if I remember correctly) - have returned the first 6210 and will return again this second unit, mainly because of its lousy sound and 'bluetooth' crackles every time I got Map/Road directions... From which you hear the last words - only - most of the time and what makes this phone useless as a ('voiced') navigation tool.
Maybe the navigation function/program is not supposed to be the main phone feature any more, because Nokia is also using one bad/cheap loudspeaker in the 6210, while the 6110 had two good ones that worked fine against the engine/road/car noise...
My second 6210 surely confirms this is the case, as by now I know that my first (6210) returned unit was clearly not a defective one in terms of 'sound/bluetooth' capabilities - I returned it to the shop during my legal 30 day return period - because for what sound is concerned, this second unit confirms it: The phone is just like that - scrappy!
There are, however, other major problems to be concerned about...
The 'voice command dedicated button' was also removed - this function is now available through the upper right button - making it impossible to use (activating 'bluetooth', for instance) if you are inside any phone application (Maps 2.0, included)!
Has anybody tried a prototype before the phone release? Has anybody used a 6110 Navigator before? I guess not!
This is even more stupid/cumbersome, as for instance, the lower left button is free for this action (keep it pushed for more than 1 second) and would be a much more clever (and logical) solution...
It seems developers either don't waist much time balancing their solutions or haven't thought about it at all! (At least, this can be fixed by remapping the button in a further firmware update, although I doubt they care - or will, eventually, do it...)
IMO, the above described hardware shortcomings, alone, are enough to rule out this phone as a (Car/Driving) navigator unit, and no software or firmware update/release is going to (or can) alter this fact.
If you need to stay with Nokia, the (two years) 'old' «6110 Navigator», is undoubtedly a much better and user friendly 'Phone Navigation' unit - with or without Nokia's Maps application!
If you want to know a little more about other 6210's "Shortcomings & Problems', please do read further...
Maybe releasing a new model every year doesn't give them much time to think... Nevertheless it's there option and frankly it's not an excuse, at least, as far as I'm concerned!
Ergonomically there are other basic errors:
    1. The phone front 'fascia' doesn't open/slide enough for you to have space to effectively use the upper keyboard row/buttons.
    2. The lower keyboard row is placed to close to the unit's end, making it quite difficult to dial with your thumb while holding the phone in the palm of your hand.
...Sorry to say, but it's a bad/defective layout design! Again, I doubt a prototype was tested by human hands!
...And now - as it seems to be usual with the last Nokia products - The Bugs:
(Please feel free to add the ones you've found - It came a time I gave up using the phone any more!)
    1. I couldn't connect the phone by 'bluetooth' with Nokia's own/dedicated «Pc Suite v.7.1.18.0»! (I'm using Win XP Prof SP3)
A bug, the lousy 'bluetooth' sound/connection, or a defective unit?
I discovered that it only happened with my first unit, which I now conclude - was defective. (I had given up after several hours lost trying to figure out what was wrong and discovering that the 'old' 6110 still worked perfectly, even with the new/last «Pc Suite» versions and settings!)
The second phone works now flawlessly with the «Pc Suite» program, I have to say!
    2. Setting an alarm to a different day rather than the actual one, switches the alarm back to the actual day, as soon as you save it!
Another bug that 'Beta Users' seem to have forgotten. It's unbelievable how basic things like this can happen... Well, maybe they never used the alarm (or the phone), after all?
Corrected in firmware 4.13; so it seems... (However it took two firmware releases to correct it! Inexcusable, from my point of view!)
    3. When navigating, if you receive or make a phone call the 'Navigation Screen' doesn't show back again after ending the call, although you continue receiving 'road voice indications'; to have your 'Map Display/Visual Road Indications' once again you need to 'hit' the 'Start
Application Button' once again - Delirious!!!
    4. With 'bluetooth' on, if you give a 'Contacts Voice Command' you don't have sound/voice 'feed back / confirmation' for the 'dialled contact' (as you had in the 6110) - you have to look at the screen to aknowledge it - Quite unsafe if you're driving...
Last... And as usual... Some 'phone freezing', so we can rehearse (and improve) our 'Remove Battery' exercise...
Welcome to the club, thank you very much, I hope you enjoy!
There are several other 'malfunction' that I will not go into depth, as they are user/personal related, and quite frankly I'm so tired of this phone, that I don't feel like going on, and on, pointing out all those shortcomings - after all this should be Nokia's Team own home work!
The ones I pointed out are enough, at least for me, to say - bye, bye, «Nokia 6210 Navigator».
I may even continue to use my old '6110' - Why not? Not perfect, but a much better (navigator) phone - But I'm surely will looking quite closely into another brand for my next (navigator) phone!
Best wishes to all of you (Nokia, included),
    telele
P.S. - As usual, you are entitled to contradict my findings... Update the bugs list... Or even praise the «6210 Navigator» phone.
All your comments are surely welcome!
I, on the other hand, will be returning this second unit.
Sorry, but I had enough - Period.

I have also 'upgraded' from a 6110 Navigator to a 6210 Navigator and found the newer model to be considerably harder to use.
In particular, your point #4 about not having a warning beep when issuing a voice command while in bluetooth/car mode is my number 1 gripe as it makes my cars bluetooth and phones voice dialling completely useless.
If you have found a solution to that particular issue please let me know.
