Saving a Form with a Different Name

I created a 2 forms in Adobe LiveCycle ES2 and saved it. I also opened it in Adobe Pro and extended the rights for end users to save the form. When a user inputs information into the text fields and tries to save it as a different name, the form does not save the filled in data. I am trying to create a workflow between the end user and my department but we dont have access to a database. My goal is to have the user download the form, completed the form and save it with a specific naming convention ( XXXXX-Date), then open email and attach the form ( the submit button will not work with our email client). The department will then review the form and input data into the form and save it with the same name. They will email the form back to the end user. I am hoping to have access to a database within the next 6-12 months and eventually avoid the saving and email but i need to get this solve now.
I've attached the forms that i am working on.

Your issue is in the Binding tab of each field. You have it set to None which means exclude the data in this field from the data file. Change it to Normal and it will include that field in the data file.

I was then doing a little post, saved the file as one name and then stared working on it under a new file name. Anyway, logic came up with a splash that asked if I would like to delete the original file, and I clicked yes, as I thought I had saved the session under a different name just earlier. Anyway, I lost everything. Ok... Shirt I thought... But I managed to find everything in the recycle bin. Except one awesome take of an awesome song, I am a little bit heart broken as I've gone though the sessions undo file in quite some detail, but I seem to have lost it. I have access to the file on my Mac at home (MacBook pro, and logic express 8 I think) cool that I can open logic pro files in logic express, but anyway. Anyone want to offer me any solace? I think a solution might be too much to ask for....

If you were using OSX 10.7 then you could go back to a previous version, but you have overwritten the file.

Deploying a copy of existing database with a different name on the same server

I am a developer(an inexperienced one) trying to understand what is the best way to deploy a brand new database with
the exact same schema as an existing DB on the same server, but with a different name. I want to preserve the data in all reference tables which I can do by having the relevant post-deployment scripts run after the deployment.
What I can't understand is how the project should be set up to deploy database Customer_2 if database Customer_1 exists on
this server - the Visual Studio project contains DB Customer and I need to find a way to be able to deploy Customer_N (but without creating N identical DB's in the project). I checked a ton of articles and blogs, and feel dumb asking this question but haven't
been able to understand it yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Smart form with 2 different pages

Hi Experts
I have a requirement, I need to develop a smart form with 2 different pages, and each page has different data and presentation of the data also is different.
In the first page I need to display the contract data with the line items and amounts and in the second page I need to display the partner details with their contact details. From second page onwards it may go further based on the partners exists for that contract.
Plesae advice me best possible way to achive this.

Create two Pages:
First Page:
In general Attributes section- Keep page2 as next page
Create Main window and under that
Keep the text elements for contract data of line item and amounts as required
Second Page:
In general Attributes section- Keep page2 as next page
create main window and under that
get all the partner details of line item into an internal table(using program lines node).
Now use 'Tables' node which behaves as loop for this internal table (so that it continues further if it contains date more than 1 page)
And display the values in smartform using Text node

How to repetively save a form with a single name.

I have to fill in, save, edit, save, update, save several U.S. govt forms that require me to save as a new name each time. This may require me to end up with 5 different file names of the same form. If I can save it as PDF Rev 1, why can't each change be resaved to PDF Rev 1 (if I OK overwrite) instead of making me create PDF Rev 2, PDF Rev 3, etc., etc., ad infinitum after each change, no matter how minor (e.g., correct spelling of one word)?
How can I get around this constant renaming of the same file?

The iPad does not have a file system like the PC or Mac so there isn't a "SAVE AS" option. I'm not sure how a form in Numbers is being stored but most apps store their forms as records with each record having some unique record name. The record should be able to be viewed, renamed and exported into some other file format such as CSV, PDF, XML, etc.
If you can't get Numbers to work, I'd try FormConnect. I've been using it for about a year now and I'm very pleased with how it works.

I have very strange situation.
I had SP2010 production database(wss_content_contoso) migrated to SP13 few months back to migrate one site collection only while I have 15 site collections stored in this database and created a site contoso.com
Now, I want to migrate same(wss_content_contoso) SP2010 database to SP13 and want to create contoso2.com.
I changed database name from wss_content_contoso to wss_content_contoso2 and assigned newID during mount process.
After this exercise, I don't see any site for contoso2.com and issue seems to be the same database.
My question is!!!!
How I can keep both databases(actually same database with different names) and run both application simultaneously?
Any help appreciated!!

You need to run Backup-SPSite/Restore-SPSite on each Site Collection you want to 'duplicate'. You cannot restore the same Content Database to the same farm as the Site Collections have the same GUID, which is stored globally for the farm.

Saving pdf form with extended Reader rights

Hello,
I want to save form changes without further confirmations in Reader version X ("Save" and not "Save as...").
- If you use a pdf form with enabled Reader rights, you should be able to save any changes made in form field by using the Reader.
- To save changes use "File / Safe" or press CRTL+S
Result:
- Save-as window will appear
- After choosing save button you will be asked to overwrite existing file.
Expected results:
File should be saved without further confirmations! In Reader version 9 there was no problem with that.
Does anybody had the same problem and found a solution?

OK, it seems to be a typical "it's-not-a-bug-it's-a-feature"-problem. But I found no way to avoid the overwrite question during saving. I noticed that the question appears only the first time when you click on the save button. If you do further changes in form fiels and click a second time on the save button the document will be overwritten without additional warnings. Maybe it's a feature to prevent users from overwriting empty forms by asking for a new filename and so on..
However, we are using the reader in conjunction with a document management software and the overwrite warning disturbs our enterprise workflow. So the only insufficient solution for my problem is to downgrade all users to version 9 again.
Hope next version of reader will be better in disabling unwanted features ;-)

How do I download a received e-mail into a program "directory file" and open it later by a related program with a different name.

Each week day afternoon I receive an e-mail bulletin and previously, using AOL, I downloaded it into a directory file located as a part of computer programs and then read it later with a related program with a slightly different name. Now when I try to do this using Mozella Firefox I don't see a way to download the e-mail bulletin into the directory program file and open it with another program related to the directory program. Firefox only shown the file name to read the download with but doesn't give me an option to download it to the program directory file. Please give me some detailed instructions.

If safari recognizes it as a PDF then when you open it, you should see something in the right corner below the search box that says open in "" and another with "open in another app". If not try tapping the middle of the screen once tomake it appear. You may need to download iBooks, which is free from the AppStore ,to have an app to download it to.

I am building a form that will allow user(s) switch to other user
(s) dynamically. I have been able able to do this by creating a
non-database table and use record group to read from the base
table of each user.(All the tables in question have the same
structure).
Record group is a read only, and I want to be able to do data
maninpulation with this form.
The questions are
(1) It possible to do data manipulation with record group and if
it is, how?
(2) Is it possible to build a form with a variable table name?
if possible, how?

Hi,
you can create and manipulate record groups at runtime(see Forms
Reference 'Create_Group' and 'Add_Group_Row') don't use
Create_Group_from_Query. For your purpose it's better to build a
cursor loop on your Query and add your datas after
manipulating with 'Add_Group_Row' to your Record Group.
It's possible to SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY(QUERY_DATA_SOURCE_NAME) but
it's not possible to change the item property 'Column Name'.
Therefor I would suggest to build a non database block and
populate these block by a programm unit, which works with a
pl/sql cursor loop and the 'create record' to populate these
block.

Adobe Reader on a remote computer is not allowing me to save a form with information. Any workarounds? Please be very basic.

I have Acrobat Pro XI - if you were referring to the version of Reader I can update to the latest version (I believe also XI?).
Only I would be using this form - but on a large number of computers. I would likely always have on a network drive and save onto that same network drive.

Advanced "Save as PDF" script that saves 2 PDF presets with 2 different Names

HI Everyone,
I am looking to improve a save as pdf workflow and was hoping to get some direction. Here is the background...
I routinely have to save numerous files as 2 separate PDFs with different settings (a high res printable version and a low res email version). Each file has to be renamed as follows...
Original filename = MikesPDF.ai
High Res PDF Filename = MikesPDF_HR.pdf
Low Res PDF Filename = MikesPDF_LR.pdf
I was able to alter the default "SaveAsPDF" script to save the files to my desired settings and to add the suffix to the name. So with these scripts here is how the workflow operates...
1. Open all files I wish to save as pdfs
2. Select script to save files as high res pdfs
3. Illustrator asks me to choose a destination.
4. Illustrator adds the appropriate suffix and saves each file as a pdf to my desired setting. ("Save As" not "Save a Copy").
5. Now all of the open windows are the new pdfs, not the original ai files.
6. Now I have to close each window. For some reason Illustrator asks me if I want to save each document when I tell it to close window, even though the file was just saved. I tell it to not save and everything seems to be fine.
7. Reopen all the files I just saved as high res pdfs.
8. Repeat the entire process except I run the script specifically designed for the low res pdfs.
What I would like to do is to combine these two processes so that there will be one script that saves both pdfs. From what I understand, the script can't support "Save A Copy" so the workflow would go as follows...
1. Open all files I wish to save as pdfs
2. Select single script to save files as both high res and low res pdfs
3. Illustrator asks me to choose a destination.
4. Illustrator saves each file as a High Res PDF and adds the the "_HR" suffix.
5. Illustrator then re-saves the open windows as a Low Res PDF and replaces the "_HR" suffix with "_LR".
Here is the code for the High Res script, The Low Res script is pretty much the same except for a different preset name and different suffix. Any pointer that anyone could give me would be most appreciated. I am pretty much a noob to this stuff so please keep that in mind.
