Saving a report with two  query providers into .csv format

Hi,
I have developed a webi report which has two query providers. I have linked the objects from these two queries at the report level using merged dimensions. the report is running fine. When I save it in EXCEL or PDF it saves the same report, but when I try to save the report in .CSV format, the output of the second query provided is getting appened at the bottom of the report.
Has anyone encountered similar problem is so whats the solution for it.
For me business wants the report to be saved as .csv only as it acts as a source file to other application.

When saving Web Intelligence document as Excel format, the result is saved based on the report design.
When saving Web Intelligence document as CSV format, all data in the Data Provider are saved.
I believe that the behaviour you described is by design so there is not much to do about it. You can open a case by SAP support though asking if this changed in a later service pack (actual service pack version for XI R2 is SP 6).

    it´s ocurrs because the drill down that you have in the query, try with another query and export this to a PDF and if you can access ... is that is not possible to use the link for a drill down in a PDF.

    No,
    you must have only 1 query which extracts all your data:
    A,q1,10
    A,q2,20
    A,q3,30
    B,q1,40
    B,q3,50
    C,q2,60
    C,q3,70
    Open report builder and create a new report from wizard.
    Select the first option accordingly with your requirements and go next.
    Type a name for your report in the title field then select "Matrix" as layout and go next.
    Select SQL Query and go next.
    Type your query.
    Select the data you want on the rows (i.e. A, B, C...) and click on the ">" button in the Matrix Row Fields section, then go next.
    Select the data you want on the columns (i.e. q1, q2, q3...) and click on the ">" button in the Matrix Column Fields section, then go next.
    Select the data you want on the cells(i.e. 10,20,30...) and click on the "Sum >" button in the Matrix Cell Fields section, then go next.
    Add some totals, if you need them.
    Go next and finish.
    Now you have a report with the following layout:
             Q1           Q2            Q3       TOT
    A        10           20            30        60
    B        40                         50        90
    C                     60            70       130
    TOT      50           80           150       280Bye

    I have a report with two ALV grids in the same screen, each one in a separated container. The information displays it correctly. The report has been implemented by using OO Programming.
    My real trouble is in the header. It must have a logo, a title with a specific font and other information.

    Then, I want to set up the header you can see, with logo, a font with specific features. Obviously, the header you see has taken from another report. But is the same idea.
    I've tried with a third container, using the CL_GUI_CONTAINER and CL_GUI_CONTAINER classes, but it doesn't work.
    Any idea? Would welcome any help you can provide.

    Hi, Jorge.
    Should the header be a"attached" to any of the ALV? Or it should be carried alone?
    If first applies, you've given the solution yourself: put the info & logo in first ALV's header and invoke it from the proper method.
    You could use CL_GUI_DOCKING_CONTAINER CLASS to divide screen in several containers and then, in the upper one, I would create another one docking container to divide the screen into two: the written info could be performed with an HTML viewer class and the logo with a CL_GUI_PICTURE element.

    I have a report with two Commands not linked together.
    If ONLY one of the two Commands returns no data, the full report is empty (although the other Command returns data).
    I'm using Crystal Report 2008 and the CRJ 12.2.205

    Hi,
    I have a report with two different layouts that prints one after the other. I would like display the column hading for each layout for all the pages that records.
    To say in detail if a first layout prints fo 10 pages the corresponding columns names should be displayed in all the 10 pages. And if the second layout for 2 pages then the 2 layout headers should be displayed.
    Kindly let me know how to achieve this.

    Hi,
    Usually,any report automatically adjusts its page numbers as per the quantity of data that needs to be displayed.However, if your specific requirement is to show certain data on one page and the remaining on another then you can simply insert a group on a valid field.
    Following is some information from the Crystal Reports Online Help menu:
    New Page After:
    - When the End of Section check box is selected, the program inserts a page break after the section.
    - The Page Header and Page Footer appear on each page.
    - Use New Page After in the Group footer section to print each group on a separate page.
    May be, if this is not what you are looking for then please elaborate on the report design/data

  • Crystal Reports with BEx Query using Custom Exit Variable

    Hi,
    We have BW BEx Query using Customer User Exit variable to derive  the Fiscal Week for Last Year (called it VAR2) based on another user input variable Current Fiscal Week (called it VAR1).
    VAR2 is derived from VAR1 in CMOD via some codings and thus it DOES NOT have the "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx. VAR1 is user input variable, so it has "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx.
    When we create a Crystal Reports with the BEx Query using variable VAR2, and when we run it we got an error message saying "Failed to execute query; '[]<java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: No Selection State Support!ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK>'. Redesign your query or contact the data source maintainer to solve the problem".  (note: ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK is VAR2 in this case).
    Could anyone please assist? Surely, CR supports BEx customer user exit variables like the above, right?. I also refer to the forum below as it seems to have a similar issue (except mine with an error message), but it does not provide a solution in it.

    Hi Vibhav,
    We have the SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise XI4.0 Version 14.0.0. Not sure if SP0 or other SP, got to check with Basis Team later.
    We tried that "mandatory" option and did not work either.
    Anyway, SAP has now come back again saying it is something they will fix it in next release/version. We got a phone call from them and a reply below to our OSS.

    I have created a Report with two characteristics - Profit Center and Internal Order(Order) as columns(some columns have Profit Centers and others have Orders). When I run the report, I get the values correctly for Profit Center columns, but the Order columns are empty.
    Why do the Order columns not show any values?

  • Single report with multiple queries OR multiple reports with single query

    Hello Experts,
    I have a confusion regarding Live Office connection for many days. I asked many people but did not get a concrete answer. I am re-posting this question here and expecting an answer this time.
    The product versions that I am using are as follows:
    FrontEnd:
      BOE XI 3.1 SP4 FP 4.1
      Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 SP4
    Backend:
      SAP BW 7.0 EHP1
    I have created a dashboard which is getting data from a webi report using LO connections.
    The webi report has five report parts which are populated by five different queries.
    Now my question is, when the five LO connections are refreshed, is the webi report refreshed five times or just once?
    If the report is refreshed five times, then I guess it is better to have five different webi reports containing single report part, because in that way we can prevent same query being executed multiple times.
    SO what is the best practice- to have a single report having multiple queries - OR - to create multiple webi reports with single query?

    Has anyone been able to get a publication working that uses a Deski report with multiple data providers as the source? I'm trying to get a publication working that uses dynamic recipients and personalization. When I try to schedule the publication, I get the error "Object not found".

    That's standard.
    It's useful for emulating outer joins in reports.
    Say you've got a sales report where you want to display all 12 months of the year in a crosstab whatever month you run in.
    We're only in May at the moment though. With one data provider (SALES), you'll get a crosstab with just up to May for your months.
    If you create a separate data provider called MONTHS to return the months in the current year, you will then have a merged dimension of YearMonth in both.
    In your crosstab if you just use YearMonth you'll get just the five months. If you qualify it with its data provider name (in our case MONTHS), you'll see the full twelve months shown.
    I hope that clears it up for your.

    In MCSI, it is possible to get sales report according to  a group of criterias and to drill down according to an other group of criterias. However it would be also convenient to to get a sales report with two dimensions instead of drilling down in order to analyze with Excel Pivot Table. Is there a way to create a specific structure or something to get it done?

    However the two dimension that can be used do come from the first drill down criterias list. However it seems not possible to select a dimension from the second lists with the matrix function. Is there a way to stil get it from the second list as well ?
