Saving and Emailing JSPs

Hi Everybody,
I need a little guidance on a unique requirement that I have. I"m using struts and the contents of JSPs are being populated from many session value objects.
The users want to be able to save a jsp page with all the information on it and also be able to email that page (with the data on it ) to others.
So how could that be done ? Is there a trick for capturing the static HTML. And I'm using websphere 4.0
Thanks in advance.
Vikas

Hi,
Never call directly your JSP, call a servlet who will redirect to the jsp you want .
Try this :
Create a class extends printwriter and overwrite all "write" method, in this method do what you want (save to disk, email etc etc).
Create a new class who extends com.ibm.servlet.engine.webapp.HttpServletResponseProxy and overwrite the constructor to pass the new printwriter class instance. Over write the "getWriter" methode to return your new printwriter.
Now, in the sevlet.service method, create a new instance of the class who extends HttpServletResponseProxy and pass it to the method (getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("page.jsp").forward(req, res)) to redirect to the right JSP.
I hope this will be usefull.

  • Created a PDF and added sticky notes, saved and emailed for review, recipient could not see or read the sticky notes.  What needs to be done for my sticky notes to be seen and read when emailed.  Thanks

I scanned a map and printed to create a PDF document, at that point I added sticky notes of different locations with notes of descriptions, saved and email to client for review.
Client received email but when he opened the attachment, all he could see was the map and none of my sticky notes.
What needs to be done so the recipient can see my sticky notes and read the descriptions for each sticky note?

    Hey roy,
Could you please tell me what is your Acrobat version?
Please ensure that recipient downloads the PDF and uses either Adobe Acrobat or Reader to open the sticky notes.

  • How to prevent users from saving and emailing intranet documents externally

Someone in our company needs to upload a pdf to our sharepoint intranet site for internal-only use. How can I prevent users from downloading it and emailing it externally?
I mean, a user could screenshot it I guess, but I need to give management a due diligence answer.

You would need to look into a reverse proxy/firewall that had the ability to block access based on content. This isn't something you can accomplish out of the box with SharePoint (even with AD RMS).

  • Need Help with Scheduling, Saving, and Emailing a Report From Apex

My ultimate goal is to schedule a report to be created in apex, save it to the database (in pdf), and then email it.
I can schedule the proc which underlies the report. I can send an email from the databse. But I don;t know how to do all three of these in an automated fashion via apex. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Good afternoon,
I run this type of process in a complete Windows environment - the client was Windows XP and the Database & Application Server were both Windows Server 2003.
Typically, I would build a .BAT file within a Page Procedure that included a line to run the report, saving to a .PDF file and then generate a sql statement that would send an email to the user. In your case, you would want to email the .PDF as an attachment. My email was a notification that the report was ready for them to download and they would access their FTP folder.
You can then schedule the .BAT file to run using the Oracle Scheduler to have that process run as an executable. The scheduler allows you set the date/time the process should run. To do this, your user must have CREATE JOB and CREATE EXTERNAL JOB privileges to run external jobs. (see the Oracle DB Admin manual for further details).
    Good luck,
    Don.

  • I'm looking for an app that will allow me to upload my contracts and forms to my iPad, fill in a customer's personal information, sign them, save them and email them.

I'm looking for an app that will allow me to upload my contracts and forms to my iPad, fill in a customer's personal information, sign them, save them and email them.  I looked at easySign, Filemaker, FM Touch, Sign Docs, Zosh, Exzact, Mi-Co

FormConnect (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/formconnect/id432653695?mt=8&ls=1) can handle the filling out, signing, saving and emailing the contracts/forms but uploading the contract and the form is going to be a challenge because you’re dealing with paper documents that have to be scanned.  If you can convert the scanned documents into an OCR program, you might be able to copy and paste the contract without having to retype it but the form itself is probably going to have to be recreated.  Alternatively, you could use a document annotation program such as iAnnotate and mark up the contract with ink.

  • Editable, Savable and Email-able PDFs from Reader!

    Hello all,
so today I got an PDF from a web design firm. It contains a questionnaire with combo boxes and input forms. I was really surprised to find that, within Adobe Reader I can edit and save this PDF locally.
Further, another nice feature is that you can email an XML document of the form data (not the PDF itself). When you click the email button, the following is pasted into the body of the email:
The attached file contains data that was entered into a
form. It is not the form itself.
The recipient of this data file should save it locally
with a unique name. Adobe Acrobat Professional 7 or later can process this data
by importing it back into the blank form or creating a spreadsheet from several
data files. See Help in Adobe Acrobat Professional 7 or later for more details.
Maybe its old news here but I never knew that was possible through Reader! How can you make a document so its ready for editing, saving and emailing like this? Does someone has a tutorial on this please? Can the 'source' be read from the PDF?
    Any advice / suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Marv

Not much of a tutorial needed. You create your form then you specially enable it in Acorbat Pro or better. The option is found under the "advanced" menu.
It's sort of old news. It's only been around the last two versions.
If you decide to use forms that are enabled like this, keep in mind that there are strict limitations on how many times they can be used. You can find those limitations in section 15 of the license agreement (There's a subsection in there. I think it's 15.12 but am not positive.)

  • How can I fill in a form, save the form such that it cannot be further altered, and email it as it was saved?

How can I fill in a form, save the form such that it cannot be further altered, and email it as it was saved?  I created a form with 5 fields.  It is a form letter that is intended as a receipt for funds received.  I want to fill in the date, name, amount received, etc., save the form with inserted data fields so they can't be further altered, and be able to email it as a complete unalterable PDF document.  What I'm doing now, is filling in the fields, printing it, scanning it, and emailing it as an unalterable document.  The document was created on a Mac using Adobe Acrobat Pro version 10.1.13.  The document is filled in on a PC that only has Adobe reader on it, printed, scanned and emailed as an attachment. There must be a better way!

If you have access to a ASP.net Web Server, then the submission could be FLATTENED with FDFToolkit.net and emailed without client-side email software by only using Adobe Reader.

  • Saving as PDF file and emailing not working

This began today.  I always save my Illustrator CS5 15.0.2 files to PDF's.  I send them to my clients as final proofs for them to approve.  Today I have had 2 recipients say (these are multiple page files) that the are seeing only portions of each page, or duplicate pages that are different.  They don't exist on my copies.  I open the PDF files after saving and they look fine.  Has something changed recently?  Actually one person said they could see the PDF fine on their iPhone but not on their PC

PDFs are sometimes seen as "applications" by some online virus checkers. Web mail accounts can sometimes scan pdfs corrupting them.  Not much you can do on your end other then possibly zip the pdfs before sending them.
Could also be a localized issue with Acrobat or Reader on your clients machines, which you can't do anything about. I always find providing links to download PDFs much more reliable than emailing the PDFs themselves.

  • Acrobat 8 Pro - Scan and email without saving document

Our office recently upgraded from Acrobat 6 to 8. We frequently scan and email documents to our customers around the world, but there is no need to save these documents on our computers.
In Acrobat 6 we followed these steps and were very happy....
    1.Click CREATE PDF
2.Select FROM SCANNER (Acrobat scanning pop up menu then comes up)
    3.Click SCAN
4.The HP scanner menu would pop up and we could make additional adjustments (quality, paper size, etc.) before clicking the scan button on the HP menu to start scanning.
    5. The newly scanned documents are then shown in Acrobat and can be emailed. From this point you can also choose to save the documents to your computer, but most of the time in our particular office the documents are just for one time use and do not need to be saved.
With Acrobat 8 we are having a problem in step 3 from above. Once "scan" is clicked, we are prompted to name and save the documents we are about to scan in a desired location on our computers. Is there anyway to scan and email without saving the document in Acrobat 8? It would be a real time saver if we did not have to keep deleting these unnecessary files once they have been emailed. Your help is greatly appreciated!

To email a PDF, it would be an attachment and would have to be saved as a result. Email packages can not e-mail non-existent data.

  • Is there something you can do. I am also having trouble with a document I downloaded that I can only access through adobe. It can not be saved, and I can not email it without losing the information, so I signed up for esign, and this is not working becaus

    Hello Shannanc16863471,
How exactly are you sending the document? Are you using Adobe reader to fill and email it? If yes, then can you confirm the version of Adobe Reader you are using?

  • Draw document saved as PDF and emailed is faulty when printed

Each month I create 12 parish-magazine pages of advertisements in Draw, save the set as a PDF document and email it for printing. Consistently, when printed some pages are reproduced smaller than the rest.
Can someone tell me why, please?

First-base solution: the pages in question run into the printer's margins and the driver is set to shrink the pages rather than crop them. Check what the printer's margins are and ensure that the document's margins are the same or larger. This sort of problem can arise when you are printing on a printer not connected to the Mac where the document is created (so you don't get a warning).

    Hi all,

If I use the Spool Recepient tab in SM37 it mails the spool list as .txt file to the mail receipient. But I need to send it as an .xls file.

  • I updated and changed my apple id and email address on my computer but when I sign in on my phone it doesn't recognize either account now.  help

If I delete my icloud account so that I can get one that matches my apple id and email and password that I updated due to a new email address, will I lose my contacts and pics and calendars on phone that were synched to icloud.  It keeps warning me when i go to delete that any contacts etc saved in the cloud for the device will be lost.  If I cant delete this icloud account how will i ever have one that has working email, etc. or attached to my apple id account.  I can't even download apps on my phone now bcause it says my id or password is wrong but the account name id on phone and cloud shows up as old inactive address.  I can't even retype current one in box

If all you did was rename your ID, you can go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with your renamed ID.  Deleting the account only deletes the account and any data you are syncing with iCloud from your phone, not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts, your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.
If, however, you are changing to a new account with a new ID, choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted.  Then choose Merge when you sign into the new account and turn your iCloud syncing back on to upload your data to the new account.
Before deleting the account, save you photo stream photos to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).

  • Unable To Move Message - Pictures saved from email save in low resolution.

Just installed a new update on my new Iphone 3G and two things are happening to me. First, I use AOL mail service, and every time i try deleting an email I get an error message that reads " Unable To Move Message" " the message could not be moved to the mailbox trash". And the other error I've been getting is every time I get a picture emailed to me, even from my wife's iphone, it stopped saving the pictures in high resolution. Can someone help me out with this issues. The deleting emails and all picture used to save in high resolution before I installed the last update on my phone using Itunes. PS the pictures I take with the phone saved and review in high resolution, it's just every time I save a picture from an email.

I wouldn't know about AOL errors but I'm not sure if you can fix the pic prob however sometimes with when i do the same thing it looks bad in Photos app but if you upload them to iPhoto etc. they are fine. I don't know why this is; it must be a simple bug with how the iPhone previews photos.

  • Why are url and email addresses not fully viewable in a PDF when generated from a Word file?

    I have a question?
A colleague in our Copenhagen office wanted to generate a pdf from a Word file.  She is working on a Windows 2007 operating system and is running Acrobat Pro 9.  When she generated the PDF only part of a url and an email address was visible when the PDF was viewed.  She was wofking from Standard settings.  I am running the same software on the same Windows platform and using the same computer equipment with the same settings yet I was able to generate a PDF where the full url and email address was visible.
Can anyone out in Adobe Acrobat land provide me with an answer?
    Patrick Lennon

That's probably because the Mac people are opening or viewing the PDFs within the Mac's "Mail" program or with the "Preview" program and not with Acrobat.
Since the Windows people aren't using these programs and most likely just Acrobat or Adobe Reader, the layers are kept hidden.
I'm afraid the only way to truly keep those layers hidden is to delete them before saving your file as a PDF. (Of course, do a "Save As" and keep your original .ai file intact.
