Saving report to Excel to include and show lower nodes values

We have a cost center spending report that's written in Report Painter.  Users execute the report using a cost center group.  In the report, they can navigate to the different variations of the report to see the data for Total cost center group or data for individual cost center within that group or subnodes within that group.   
They would like to be able to save this report to Excel, but with all the subgroups and individual cost center data shows up in different tabs of the Excel file.    And they would like to do this with just one single command.   So, when they do 'Save > Local File > spreadsheet", they want to have all the data in that one single file. 
If anybody knows how to do this, I would appreciate it.   Points will be awarded.   Thank you.

Thank you for the response but it does not resolve our problem.   The above method does not bring the data of all the subsequent nodes.     The requirement is to have all the subnodes saved into Excel as separate tabs.    For example, they run the report for Cost center group A which has 2 subgroups under it (subgroup A1 and subgroup A2).   Under A1, there are cost centers 12000 and 22000.   Under A2, there are cost center 13000 and 23000. 
When they run the report for cost center group A, and the "Navigation" is on, the grouping above will be shown and within that report, they can navigate to see the data for Group A, or data for Subgroup A1, or data for cost center 12000, etc.   They would like to download all these information into Excel as separate tabs.   So, data for Group A should show in the Excel file in tab 1.  Data for Subgroup A1 should show in tab 2.  Data for Cost center 12000 should show in tab 3, etc.

    Via XI I map an incoming mail message to an outgoing XML. To be sure to not run into problems, I want to put <![CDATA[ and ]]> around the node-values.
    Currently, I just do this in my message-mapping via a concatenate. The result LOOKS fine, but the XML-parser on the receiving application treats the CDATA as part of the total string and not as an indicator to accept every charachter within the node-value.
    How can I put this CDATA around the node-values in a correct manner?

  • How To Control the Langauge of BI Reports (Using Excel 2013, oData, and Project Server Online 2013)

    Although I buried and posted the following question indirectly in a recent post, I would like to do so here to try and elevate it in the hope that I can get an answer.
    It is in regards to creating reports using Excel 2103 to querry Project Server 2013 Online using oData.  I would like to be able to control the langauge of my reports that I create for others to view.
    Just creating and then saving the Report and Data Connections in a language directory does not seem to drive or determine the language of the report.  A colleague of mine over here is using the same directories as I am, and his turn
    out to be French like his environment.  Mine, even though I save the files in same the French directories, display in English. 
    Any ideas on how I can create reports so that they display in another language, eg., French when using Excel to create reports?  I know that we can set the language in an internet browser to control the language that the result is returned, for instance,
    when querying https://.../pwa/_api/ProjectData/$metadata

    Correction!  Thanks to Doug Welsby of Microsoft and some our other MS friends who worked behind the scenes to correct/ assist me on this, I got the right answer after all... the difference between, example a French oData command/ statement,
    and an English one is the inclusion of the square brackets with the language abbreviation/ code e.g., "[Fr..]" in the oData connection string/ statement.  For further reference, see the connection files provided by Microsoft in the Reports and
    compare the syntax for the same report/ different language.  There is where you will see what and how Excel is able to differentiate/ control what language that the report result will return.

  • Saving report in excel format

    I need to save a report directly to excel format. The user does not want to open a delimited file in excel. After a lot of trials I got excel.prt file which supposedly saves the report in excel format directly from the PRINT TO FILE option.
    But I am still getting the option to save the file as text only, not in excel.
    Required help urgently as the report is important to the client

    We run reports using utl_http and then save the output as a blob. After that, we print the blob but before hand, we do this:
    owa_util.mime_header('application/vnd.ms-excel', false);
    htp.p('content-disposition: filename='||v_rec.filename||'.xls');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    This sets the filename correctly and forces the browser to use Excel to handle the file.

  • Web part created on a subsite for a sharepoint list in another site using sharepoint designer, to show only the subsite's reports. Connection dropping off and showing all the reports

    I crated web parts in the sub-sites (we have about 10 subsites) using sharepoint designer from a main list in another site.  Then used web part to show only the  ubsite's reports - using connection to the main list.  Problem is, the connection
    is dropping off and showing all the reports on the main list that are confidential.  this has happened 3 time lately.  Could someone explain why it happens some times?  I had to fix it by adding the web part again and connecting it

    If you want to use a top level site "department" list column in all sub-sites, you can go to top level site and create a
    lookup type "Site column" to look up the value from the department list, then all sub-sites can use this lookup type site column created in top level site.

  • Saving Report to excel for Infoview User

    We are using Business Objects 6.5 and we have quite a lot infoview users. As we know Infoview users do not have privilege to save report as excel so is it possible to make Infoview users save reports as excel?

    Simple test, login into infoview as general supervisor, open full client report and see if you can export or save as to Excel.
    If you can - then it's rights issue, if you can't - try with latest Service Pack for 6.5. I think it's Sp4 but I might be wrong.
    If you can't do this using general supervisor and in latest version of 6.5 - you're out of luck.
    What are you even doing being still on 6.5 ??

    I am not seeing what should be expected when I run my query, and I am getting the display of the hierarchy nodes that I am not supposed to get access to. I checked my profile and I have the 0COSTCENTER as '*' and TCTAUTHH as ':' .
    Where should I start finding why I am getting the node values displayed that I am not supposed to?

    I think you should better post it to the BI forum.
    Did you try to use the user exit EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001 (extension RSR00001) to initialize the values? And for bypassing the selection screen, can't you define it in the query definition (if I remember well)?

    According to your description, it take long time to render the report when using [Property] dimension, right?
    In this case, the issue can be caused by that there are too many members under this dimension. In your query, you used CrossJoin function to join multiple dimensions which might cause the performance issue. If you cross-join medium-sized or large-sized sets
    (e.g., sets that contain more than 100 items each), you can end up with a result set that contains many thousands of items—enough to seriously impair performance. You can use the NonEmptyCrossjoin function instead of Corssjoin function. For the detail

  • How to include and exclude external infoobject values in a hierarchy

    Hello experts,
    I'm working with hierarchies and the problem I have is that I don´t know how to include nor exclude a value in the definition of the hierarchy.
    For example, I want to show in a query some cost elements related to some functional areas, so I've created a hierarchy for md funcional area. But I don't want to show every cost element related to one functional area but only some of them. I've defined 0costelmnt as a external characteristic for 0func_area infoobject so that I can specify in the hierarchy the cost elements I want to show. But it doesn´t work, in the report all cost elements are showed. How can I specify the ones I want to show?

  • Multi-select lists, their return values and showing their display value

    I have a multi select list which is dynamic. The display and return values are pulled from a table where the return value is the Primary Key.
    When people select a few options, the value is stored in session state as 11:12:13 (etc...). From here, I run these numbers through a process which takes a report ID and the multi-select string, and saves individual rows as Report_id, individual multi select value until there are no more multi select values.
    This is great, they're tied in as a foreign key to the LOV lookup table, and they are easily search able.
    I have trouble where I want to list a report's entire multi-select list. I have a function combine the numbers with a : in between them and RTRIM the last one, so I have an identical string to what a multi-select table uses. 11:12:13 (etc..)
    When I assign it to display as an LOV in a report, it just shows the 11:12:13 instead of listing out the values.
    Single number entries, where someone only selected one option in a multi select, display fine.
    Am I doing this wrong?

    Scott - you're right on the money. I did this initially because I thought assigning an LOV display value to a report column would yield the results I wanted.
    I want to do this without referring to the original table... meaning I don't want a function to have to go out and get the names, I'd like my LOV assignment to do it. This saves headache of having to change something in 2 places if it ever changed.
    Am I not going to be able to do this?
    I created a test multi-LOV page, it doesn't work with original(not processed in my function) LOV assignments either, unless you only select one.

  • Iphoto Duplicated some pics and showing low res version

    Iphoto has Duplicates some of my pictures one in a high quality which is the normal version and one is a low quality. The problem is that my iphoto library is only showing the low res version and i have to get extended info for those pictures then search for them on my mac. Then when i go to import the high res version it tells me /Users/mjo2287/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals/2008/Aug 9, 2008_2/Image 1058.jpg
    each photo has the same name please help thanks

    can you tell us any more? It sounds like you imported an old iPhoto library into a new iPhoto library - you should never import an iPhoto library into another iPhoto library
    If this is the case do you still have the old library available?
    If you do then quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library form the pictures folder to the desktop and drag the old iPhoto library to the pictures folder and launch iPhoto - you will now have an intact library with no duplicates

  • Web ADI Report set, excel is not showing the data for any of the three repo

    We are currently working on 11.5.10.2 and moving from Desktop ADI to Web ADI. At the time of publishing report in Web ADI the excel is empty.
    AFter successfully running the WEB Adi reportset for Consolidate Balncesheet ( for a period ex: APR-2012), there were 3 reports that were publlished as a set. Then I went to Repository Management and went to the folder and subfolder where I saved all the above 3 reports. When I click on view on one of the reports, the excel spreadsheet opens and try to load something for a while but finally ends up loading nothing.
    I am unable to figure out what went wrong. Do you have any idea.
    If someone can help me, I really appreciate.

    In u r query what I observed was unit cost*gross profit is Amount Sold. Can u make this calculation with Physical calculation rather than and logical calculation.
    See if u have kept logical joins for both the tables with the fact and set the content level at detail level in the content level of fact.

    I am facing an issue when i try to save a BO6.5 report in the excel format.when Busines objects saves reports into excel the issue is that the time value in Business Objects varies completley and is incorrect.There is a time difference of 11 hours

    Try to check your system time (local settings i.e control panel-> time....) is displaying correctly or not. As BO will take your local system date/ time in reporting.

    I don’t understand why it's behaving so typically.
    There are two things here
    1.     When I create a report from Answers and use the hand button (top most left) set all the details. Download then and there itself to excel it’s showing the user info even though there no such info shown with report in Answers, This is working fine.
    2.     However when I place the same report and enable the print, download links for the same report on dashboard page and when I try to download the report to excel it does not show me the user details even though after enabling the footer details using hand symbol of edit dashboard properties.
    Here end user wants this functionality when ever he download’s the report from dashboard page (not the ad hoc report from Answers) user details should appear in his downloaded excel or something.

    i am using the "How to.." Paper to implement the functionality for Printing Web Reports with Excel. I also Modify the Table during the rendering with the Modify Table Interface to set some mimes instead of inidcators in one column. The Export
    into Excel Works Fine but after saving that Report in Excel, and reopen it i have
    to confirm a Security Dialog / re-login . I think this is because of the mimes which refer to the WAS.
    Now my Question :
    Is it possible to get a result ( Exported Report into Excel with MIMES ) and avoid
    a re login. I mean, to export the Mimes also.
