Saving the Java Graphis Object to JPEG File Format

Hi,
I created many java graphics objects on my applet (standalone) and would like to save it in one jpg format.
Any idea how to do this??.
I would appreciate for any hints.
regards
Paulus

It is easy in Java.
See com.sun.image.codec.jpeg.* package document
good luck!

Creating a Mavericks USB boot drive after the horse has bolted.  Can I create a bootable USB drive from my iMac after installing Mavericks without saving the Install OS X Mavericks.app file?  Do I need to re- download the whole 5.29 Gb from the App Store again?  My problem is my 4Gb/month allowance on a 12 month contract.  I cannot purchase a data block from my ISP and although my speed is theoretically slowed to 64k after reaching my 4Gb, it actually ceases to download in reality.

HI tasclix, it depends what you mean by an OS X boot drive.
If you want a recovery disk from which you can reinstall (by re-downloading) or recover from a time machine backup, then nbar is correct.
If, however, you want to boot and run the OS X installer from the USB drive (so that you don't need to download again), then you will need a copy of "Install OS X  Mavericks.app"; see this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5856
Before downloading again, search your system to see if the installer is still there - it's usually in the /Applications folder unless it has been deleted, but check your whole system for it anyway, you never know, you might still have it somewhere.

  • When importing photos with iBooks Gallery widget, is anyone aware of a technique for simultaneously importing the photo's description (or jpeg file name) and writing it into the iBook Author caption field for the imported photo?

When importing photos with the iBooks Author Gallery widget, is anyone aware of a technique for simultaneously importing the photo's description (or jpeg file name) and writing it into the iBook Author caption field for the corresponding imported photo? I have 4,800 stills to import and can't imagine it's necessary to copy and paste the description for each.

As always, feel free to use the 'Provide iBooks Author Feedback' menu item for features you'd like added in the future, etc.

  • Caching values in JNI having multiple instances of the Java wrapper object

    Hi,
I have a Java lib that wraps and more complex 3 ^rd^ party C++ lib using JNI. This C++ lib is asynchronous. So, there's the need to register callbacks. I've already done this. I can register a callback from Java to the C++ lib and I can get notified, also in Java, when the C++ lib fires an event.
To achieve this I had to cache some information in my "JNI glue code". I've cached a JavaVM* and a jobject to that I can call a Java method in "glue code" callback. Something like this:
// This is supposed to be a callback registered in the 3 ^rd^ party lib's object that I'm wrapping
    void callback_OnSomething(int someInfo) {
// Call a the "fireOnSomething" method from Java
So, all of this is working, but I have a small problem. When I have more than one instance of my "Java wrapper object", my cached values in the glue code will get mixed up, because "glue code" cached variables are the same.
Have you ever done something like this? How have you solved it?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Thanks for you answer! By "glue code" I mean the C code that's used to "glue" the Java code to the 3 ^rd^ party lib. I've seen this term here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glue_code.
I've already converted my objects to "GlobalReferences". My example is running perfectly when I have just one instance of the Java wrapper object.
So, if I understood it correctly you're suggesting that I cache the values in the Java object itself? So, what I have to do is to just have a "long" in my Java object with the memory addresses. And is the "long" always valid, whether I'm running a 32 bits or 64 bits version?
Just one more thing. When you say "Make sure to delete it when finished with it", what do you mean?
    Once again, many thanks!

  • Why has adobe acrobat changed the dimensions of my original jpeg file?

Why has adobe acrobat changed the dimensions of my original jpeg file?  I uploaded an A3 jpeg file and adobe converted it to pdf but the scale is all wrong.  Why is this?  What can I do about it?

Normally if you open a graphic in Acrobat, it automatically adjusts the PDF to the size of the graphic. It sounds as though you are doing something else to create a PDF. It would help to know how you created the PDF, you seem to be suggesting you did it with an online tool and not Acrobat. In that case you should go to the appropriate product forum.

  • What happened to my "Photoshop JPEG file" format?

On my previous two computers -- a G5 running 10.4, a MacBookPro on 10.5, both using Photoshop CS3 -- I used to have two kinds of JPEG files. One was listed in the Finder as "JPEG file," and that opened in Preview; the other was "Photoshop JPEG file," which would open Photoshop.
On my new setup, a MacMini on 10.7 using Photoshop CS5, there are no Photoshop JPEG files, just plain JPEG files that open in Preview.
I need to get the two formats back, as the difference helped me determine which images I had worked on and aided in my photo workflow. I don't want to change all files to Open With Photoshop in Get Info, as that doesn't solve the problem.
Is this something in the Finder? Photoshop? Preferences? How do I get that functionality back? Thanks.

Filname extensions are already on. Also, I typically save most of my images as jpegs so -- for example -- I can send them off to labs, which usually don't accept straight Photoshop PSD files.
I guess what I need to know is whether the separate "Photoshop JPEG File" format has been removed completely from OS 10.7, or can it be restored. It would be a shame if it's gone, as it was a handy function.

  • JPEG file format option missing in PSE 9

The JPEG file format option in the "Save as" dialog is no longer listed in PhotoShop Elements 9.  I've completely uninstalled and re-installed the software, but the JPEG file format option is not there.

Most likely you have a 16 bit file and JPEG is an 8 bit format. Go to image>mode>8 bits/channel and jpeg should reappear as an option.

  • How can we generate the reports in html or text file formats?

    Hi,
Is there any package that can help in creating HTMLDB reports in .txt files or .html files? (Similar to TEXT_IO in Oracle Forms)
How can we generate the reports in html or text file formats from HTMLDB?
    Thanks in Advance
    Renjith

    Hello all.
Bi Publisher is great, but has a very high price tag. It's even more expensive than Forms & Reports Services. We are considering APEX to replace Forms & Reports on the web, but the reporting limitations are still a problem.
I wonder if there is another option.
    Thanks

  • Saving the state of an application - db, file, object?

Hi, this is a general programming question,
I don't understand when to use databases, files or just save objects to save a state of an application. If you can point me to a tutorial, that would be very helpful. Here I have specified my problem.
I am creating a personal finance application. I am planning to have a month-object, which saves all my transactions for the month.
I could create a database for all the transactions, and I guess it would be quite easy to get all the data from the database so that every time I start my application I would see my current financial situation.
My questions is if there are other options for this.
    1. Writing to a file
    - What kind of a file can I write? Is it my own xml-style text-file from which I have to search for every data by an algorithm I have created myself?
    2. Objects.
    - I know I can save the state of an object to a file, which doesn't seem too complicated. When should I use this option.
Thank you for any help on this question.

I don't understand when to use databases, files or just save objects to save a state of an application. If you can point me to a tutorial, that would be very helpful.I doubt there's a good tutorial covering that, though I'd be delighted to be proven wrong.
Here I have specified my problem.Excellent. This is what's known as "asking the right questions" :-)The XMLEncoder and XMLDecoder classes can be used to translate objects to and from XML files.
The ObjectOutputStream and ObjectInputStream classes can be used to translate objects into and out of binary files.
You could also, naturally, create your own file format(s) and translators.
Finally you can use a database. You could use JDBC directly, or you could use one of the Object Relational Mapping (ORM) tools instead.
    Which to use?
If you want to keep it simple go for the XML encoders. They're easy to use and you can read the file format.
If you think you're likely to want to perform some complicated operations on the data, and particularly if you anticipate accumulating more data than will conveniently fit in memory at the same time, then consider using a database.
You shouldn't use an ORM tool until you're very confident with JDBC so I'd rule that out for now.
Given that you're asking this question at all, I would suggest the XML encoders for now.
Thanks for asking the right sort of question - too many users pick a technology then demand that we help them use it without ever considering if it's actually appropriate. You're being smart. Well done.

  • Can you have the same smart object in two files?

    The situation:
I have a 'base' file A, with two (different) smart objects B and C. Now I want B and C to both contain a third smart object D, and I can't get that to work.
I can place the same file as a smart object in B and C, but it becomes two different smart objects, which are seperately editable. I would like to be able to edit smart object D and the changes to be visible in both B and C and in turn in A.
    Is this at all possible?
and please, I'm not looking for workarounds. I have plenty of those, but it would save me a lot of time time if this were possible.
    thanks

    but,
some technical issues prevent it from working in Windows Vista or Windows 7
    , I'm on win7

That's no problem. just 2 times a ctrl-s. Takes no time at all

  • How to view the content (contained objects) of transport files without importing?

    Hi,
we do often receive transport files (DATA and CODILE) from third parties.
If is is done correctly the supplier of the transport files devliver also additional information about the detailed content of the transport, e.g object lists as plain text file, so that we are informed which objekts will be imported in advance.
But some suppliers don't. Or we want only check, if additional info and real transport content match.
So for that reason  I am looking for a possible way to view the object list of such transports without adding it to the import queue or importing it to a sandbox system or even add it to the import buffer..
Most likely this should be done by a standalone tool (on Windows) or a tool running on SAP accessing the transportfiles (preference: stored only on the client PC  and not added to the transport directory)
So my question is: Is there any tool that can extract the object list from the transport files and display it?
    Helst regards
    Helmut Fischer

    Helmut,
If you don't have access to the server console, it might be possible to 'trick' tp into working from a workstation, but I wouldn't bet on it. You'd have to fake up a profile for it. I haven't tried this.
Peering into the contents of a delivered transport file would be something that your Basis team would typically do. My suggestion is to work with them, either to use tp command-line option from the server console, or if that's not reasonable, then yes, go ahead and add it to the import queue of one of your sandbox systems. You can always delete it from the queue again later. If you don't actually import it, it isn't going to hurt anything.
To do any of these options is going to require some level of filesystem access to your transport host, as you need to copy the two files that make up the transport there. You need to put the 'K' file into \usr\sap\trans\cofiles and the 'R' file into \usr\sap\trans\data. Then, you can either use the tp command-line tool, or you can go into STMS, go into the import queue of any system in the transport domain (so a sandbox is fine), and use Extras... Other Requests... Add and type in the transport request ID. Yes, this adds some entries about the transport into a few tables, but it doesn't actually import the transport, and it doesn't change anything about your system. It just allows the transport to show up as importable in the queue, and that will make it so that you can read the object list of the transport. Then, if you decide not to import it, you can delete it from the queue, and your system is back to the way it was before. Also, doing this will not put the transport into any other system's queue. Even if you import the transport (into a sandbox system), it won't show up in any other system's queue until you forward it.
    Regards,
    Matt

  • Does the Number type in Oracle always map to the Java BigDecimal object

We have noticed that whenever we create a column in a table of type smallint, integer, real, etc. that the type in sqlplus always shows up as number(x). Our problem is that this type always seems to map to java.math.BigDecimal through JDBC. Is this a bug in the JDBC drivers???
Put another way when I create a column of type smallint I expect that after performing a query I should be able to call the getShort method on the result set in order to get the value from the afore mentioned column. But instead I get a ClassCastException because the Java type for the column is actually a java.math.BigDecimal.
    Thanks,

  • Importing Raw and Jpeg file formats to Mac Pro

Since migrating to Photos from iPhotos when importing photos only Jpegs seem to get imported, not Raw files when shot in both formats on my NikonD5300. Does anyone know how i can import the two file formats simultaneously? (I have double checked the settings on my camera!)
    Thanks Louise

Photos will import both the RAW and the JPEG, but stack them and use only one of them as the original file.
You will see badge overlays "J" or "R", indicating if the RAW or the JPEG is currently uses as the original file to render edits.
Open the photo in "EDIT" mode, then you will be able to switch to the "RAW" version as the original file, in the "Image" menu.  The options "Use RAW as original" or "Use JPEG as original" are only available in Edit mode, also "Reprocess RAW"
