SAVING VARIENT
using any transation -say MCSI the layout variant is not saved .
every time out of total five columns say i require only 3 colums i check on the variant and shift the unwanted two items to the right column.
once try to save the layout the varient is not saved.
illustration is given below:
columns as visible before :
sales org - billed qty - billed qty value - excise duty -cess--
s tax -
total value
columns required :
sales org - billed qty --- billed qty value
so i hide the balance colums to get desired info.
then to save varient i move to tab in header >> click on GO TO then click VARIENT then click SAVE AS VARIENT . but it does not save as all components under VARIENT tab are greyed out ie. GET , DISPLAY , DELETE or SAVE AS VARIENT.
similar problems are face in many other standard t codes also.

Then please check with your ABAPer, there must be a transaction variant that has been created for these transactions which is thereby directly going into the variant screen when you are executing the tcode.
There is a function module which can be inserted, which can directly take the user into the variant screen.

Email for pending notifications
Dear Experts,
I have saved varient for IW29 with dynamic dates for the pending notifiications more than 3days.
Then scheduled the background jobs with Distribution list. Distribution list for the internet receipents maintainted at SAP Business Workplace.
Email also triggerd with the attachement of pending notification list in .htm or .txt format.
The problem is that mail is receiving without any message body (draft in mail like Dear Sir, Please find the attached pending notification list, Regards,). I want to trigger the mail with such draft and attachment.
So, kindly guide how to assign the mail draft for this mail with attachment.

While Creation Of SaleOrder Char Values are not getting saved.(V C)
Hi SAP gurus,
One of my client can able to create a saleorder but when we go and see in VA03 Display mode,we found Charactrestic values getting miised out.What could be the probale reasons.
Note: I Have stimulate the required combination as per my client requirement in CU50,here i can able to indentify the Green Sign,but While Creation Of SaleOrder Char Values are not getting saved.

If you assign values in classification view or configuration profile they will become default for the product, and it willnot be changed in sales order.
another thing if the item category is incorrect you will not get the configuration pop up at all .
problem what i understand from your thred is at the time of sales ordeer creation there is some inconsistances in the configuration , may be some condition is not fullfilling.
If in CU50 the result shown are error free, same configuration should owrk properly in sales configuration process, please again try to create it in sales order with same value assignment also check all the messages.
see the result of configuration before saving the sales order , i hoep it will work for you.
I am assuming all the things from SD are properly configured ie item catageory, varient pricing etc.
Check and revert back.

RZ20 PerformanceAttributes not saved
Hi everyone,
I have a SolMan system being used for monitoring file and processes.
The problem is when i change the threshold values (in CCMS : performance attribute) of an individual MTE, these changes are not saved.
When i restart the server where the sapccmsr client is installed (or restart the service sapccmsr itself), all the performance attributes are reset to default and all my monitoring customization is lost.
However, i noticed that all the changes i have made are saved in RZ21>MTE-Specific properties. It create a new MTE in this list each time I rechange the threshold values when the server restart.

In SAP the all the properties of the MTE saved as property varient, Normally if you change the properties in using RZ20, that saved with the active property varient.
but if you do it via RZ21 then you can choose the property varient which you want to take (set of MTEs), once had done you can change the value and make that as the active varient,you could see the list of property varient in RZ21,properties section

Properties assigned to attribute groups
MTE-specific properties
under "property varient" > display overview. Choose the varient and change the status. Make that varient as active.
restart the service and check again. The varient should be the one which you set as active while change.

Unable to save the sales order in varient configuration
Hi Gurus,
In varient configuration i have done all the settings and it works fine, and i am getting one error
while saving the sale order(incomplete long) showing configuration.
while click the error shwoing like this :
Item 000011 can only be changed by configuring material XXXX(item 000010)
Error Message NO. V1456
(Item &1 can only changed by configurable material &2 (item &3))
Please help in in this regards.
Where i am missing the settings.

While saving the sales order Configuration showing in the incompletion log means it is related to configurable material only so you look in these areas,
1.Check the BOM settings whether BOM is exploding properly or not.
2.Item category is getting determined or not.
3.Have you able to select the sub item items through configuration selection screen or not.
4.Go to transaction VOV7 check the item category settings related to the configuration.
5. Have you maintained all the data in the KMAT (Configurable) material master data like class assignment etc.

Offline Adobe - Values entered not getting saved.
Hello,
Let me explain this step by step;-
1. Some fields are added to already existing online Adobe form.
2. An offline form is downloaded using We Dynpro ABAP.
3. Values are entered in all the fields of the Adobe Form and then saved.
4. The form is then closed and reopened again. the values entered in the newly created fields have vanished and appear blank and are ready for input once again.
I have checked for JAVA Script which could be possible cause for such a behaviour but haven't come across anything. If anyone has come across a situation like this, please let me know.

Whenever you start a program in which selection screens are defined, the system displays a set of input fields for database-specific and program-specific selections. To select a certain set of data, you enter an appropriate range of values.
For further information about selection screens, refer to Selection Screens in the ABAP User's Guide.
If you often run the same program with the same set of selections (for example, to create a monthly statistical report), you can save the values in a selection set called a variant.
You can create any number of variants for any program in which selection screens are defined. Variants are assigned exclusively to the program for which they were created.
You can also use variants to change the appearance of the selection screen by hiding selection criteria. This is particularly useful when you are working with large selection screens on which not all of the fields are relevant.
Reports, module pools, and function groups may have several selection screens. It is therefore possible to create a variant for more than one selection screen.
Variants are an interface between the user and the selection screen. They can be used both in dialog and in background mode, although their uses are slightly different.
Variants in Dialog Mode
In dialog mode, variants make things easier for the user, since they save him or her from continually having to enter identical values. They can also make the selection screen easier to read, because you can use them to hide input fields. Running an executable program with a variant containing an optimal set of values also reduces the capacity for user error. The optimized database selections speed up the runtime of the program.
Variants in Background Mode
Variants are the only method for passing values to a report program in a background job. Therefore, when you run a program in the background, you must use a variant (or SUBMIT... VIA JOB). To avoid you having to create a new variant each time you run the report, ABAP contains a mechanism allowing you to pass variable values to variants. See Variable Values in Variants.
To ensure that an executable program is always started using a variant, you can specify in the program attributes that the program may only be started in this way.

Group of selection criteria that has been saved. A report can have several different variants, with each variant retrieving different types of information. For example, a vendor report might have one variant for U.S. vendors and another variant for European vendors.
Use
Instead of entering the same values in the selection criteria input fields each time you execute a report, you can enter the values once and then save the selection criteria as a variant. The next time you execute the report, you only need to enter the variant name, not the selection criteria. If you use variants, the selection criteria screen is already filled with data.
To execute certain reports, you must use a variant. In this case, a system message prompts you to do so. Although you are not always required to use variants or selection criteria, it is a good idea to use them when possible. Your resulting lists will be smaller and take less time for the system to process.

I copied standard report to custom report.
Added one extra field on selection screen of copied custom report.
When i save the variant, data is saved on selection screen. But when i select the variant, values are populated for other fields except the extra field i have added on selection screen.Create the varient with same input for the custom report and save it...

Precalculate a workbook containing multiple query varients in broadcasting

I'm using BW 3.5 version. I have a Sales MIS workbook. That workbook is having four tab pages for regions north, east, west south. I have one single user entry variable for region characteristics. And while saving the workbook I say "Save & reuse the variables". Now user wants to broadcast the workbook in the same fashion. But Broadcast settings only accommodate for 1 variant for precalculation. He is not interested in having 4 mails for 4 regions. Has anyone figured out a way to precalculate a workbook containing multiple query varients?I have the same issue as well. We have upgraded to 7.0, but still running 3.5 queries and 3.5 bex tools except broadcaster. We are using Broadcaster 7.0 and Analyzer 3.5. How do you get all the queries to refresh using the variant?
When the query properties are set to just 'Refresh query when opening workbook' it will not execute in the Broadcaster (7.0) - Error: u201CSpecify a value for variable Period/Fiscal Year (Interval Entry, Required)"
When I select the box for 'Save and reuse variable values' and execute through the Broadcaster (with a variant) it run the first, active sheet with the variant but the other sheets reuse the values that were used when saving the favorite.
How can I get the Broadcaster to refresh all queries in the workbook using the variant ?? Again, we are on Broadcaster/Precalc 7.0 and Analyzer/queries are 3.5

Value range
' ' = Display variants cannot be saved
Defined display variants (such as delivered display variants) can be selected for presentation regardless of this indicator. However, changes cannot be saved.
'X' = Standard save mode
Display variants can be saved as standard display variants.
Saving display variants as user-specific is not possible.
'U' = User-specific save mode
Display variants can only be saved as user-specific.
'A' = Standard and user-specific save mode
Display variants can be saved both as user-specific and as standard
variants. Users make their choice on the dialog box for saving the
display variant.

Copying a users' saved selection to other users
Hello, one of the users have about 10 saved selections on a dashboard. We want to make the saved selections available for another set of 30 users. Can this be done in OBIEE 10.1.3.4?
When i loggin as administrator, i see the ability to save saved selections to other groups. But, as an administrator, i dont have access to the saved selections of the users.
Maybe, i can copy the _selections folder in webcat to the other user's folder. Anybody tried this? Help.

In reports input Screen you have this option,
In selection screen you can find, Save as a New varient, give some name and save , don't select Save as User Varient and save it.
Note: Check with the select Save as User Varient & Use as default Varient options.

so went to se16n then entered the

A screen variant means a sample set of test data with which you want to execute your program/screen. Once you have entered a sample set of data, give a screen variant name, some description and then save it.
Next time when you want to execute the program you can pick up the same variant and there is no need to enter all the screen data again. Also this variant is saved againt your userid, so if you want to see all the variants for a particular transaction, remove the userid and then execute to check for all the variants.
Hope this clarifies your doubt.
