Scale selector for Guages

Hi All
I have a report requirement in OBIEE 11g to have guage for sales amount with three thresholds for red,green and yellow.
The requirement is to have scale selector on the report which can change the % values for red,green and yellow areas. For example one user would like to view sales >60% of expectation as yellow but other user would want sales >90% of expectation as yellow and so on.
This should dynamically change the colors on the guage depending on the chose scale.

Some more details:
- report will have guage with one metric
- report will have another scale that will have slider and can be moved by the report user
- upon change the slier, the range of red portion or yellow portion can be increased or decreased

Hi Sumita,
You can do this with Dashboard prompts, but it's a little tricky. I'll highlight the process below. Keep In mind I assume you have three reports already created and have three views: View 1, View 2 and View 3.
Phase I: The Dashboard Prompt
1. Create a new dashboard prompt.
2. Add any single column to your prompt. It doesn't really matter which one (just make sure nothing is prompted on it to be safe).
3. For the sake of this example, I'll assume we added column: "Test Folder"."Test Field"
4. Make sure your Operator is "is equal to/is in"
5. Make sure the control is "Drop-down List"
6. Change the Show to "SQL Results"
7. Write a SQL statement similar to the following (TEST =<your subject area>, "Test Folder"."Test Field" = <your column>):
SELECT CASE WHEN 1=2 THEN "Test Folder"."Test Field" ELSE 'View 1' END
FROM TEST
UNION
SELECT CASE WHEN 1=2 THEN "Test Folder"."Test Field" ELSE 'View 2' END
FROM TEST
UNION
SELECT CASE WHEN 1=2 THEN "Test Folder"."Test Field" ELSE 'View 3' END
FROM TEST
**Note: The reason why we need to do the CASE statement is because every logical query needs at least 1 presentation column. The case statement is a way to include the presentation column, but since the statement 1=2 is never true, we always use the ELSE condition.
8. Set a presentation variable. Call it VIEW_PVAR
9. Have the Prompt default to Specific Value: View 1
10. Save the Dashboard Prompt and put it into the Dashboard with your reports.
Phase II: Filter Reports
1. Create a new Answer request
2. Bring in your test column twice
3. Change the formula (fx) on the second column to be: '@{VIEW_PVAR}{View 1}'
4. Now add a filter to the presentation variable column
5. Set the operator to "is equal to/is in' and set the value to: View 1
6. Save the Request as "View 1 Filter"
7. Change the value in the filter to: View 2
8. Save the Request as "View 2 Filter"
9. Change the value in the filter to: View 3
10. Save the Request as "View 3 Filter"
Phase III: Guided Navigation
1. Create three sections in your dashboard
2. Rename each section to: View 1, View 2 and View 3 respectively
3. For each of the sections, do the following:
3a. Click on properties
3b. Click on Guided navigation
3c. Set the Guided Navigation to the appropriate Filter report
4. For each of the three sections, do the following:
4a. Add in all three requests
4b. Click on the request properties and select Show and the appropriate view for that section
5. Save your changes to your Dashboard

AN UPDATE ON MY ISSUE:
It appears to be limited to Dreamweaver. When I upload the files to my server and use BrowserLab or Microsoft SuperPreview the pages are rendering properly in all versions of IE. It's only broken when viewing in Design view within Dreamweaver or when using BrowserLab from within Dreamweaver. So at least I know my website works, which is a huge relief, but does anyone have any idea why Design view would complete ignore my styles? It's very annoying.

Unfortunately that seems to be a known bug. And something we have to wait for APple to fix. THere are other threads on the same topic and some people have work arounds so you might want to poke around in the 'more like this' on the right.

How to create new scale basis for shipment costs without modification?

at the moment I am trying to create a new scale basis for shipment costs.
It is not a problem to create a new scale basis in table view V_TVFRFQ. The creation of an Append structure in the communication structure KOMK is easy, too.
The problem is the following:
When creating a scale for a scale basis with transaction VS01, the system picks some screens out of function group V57S. For my new scale basis there is of course no screen in this standard function group.
So my question:
How to create/generate a screen to create scales for my new scale basis without a modification of function group V57S?
To me it makes no sense that SAP offers a possibility to create customer owned scale bases but then gives the customer no possibility to create an input screen for that scale basis without modification. Therefore I think it should be possible to generate such a screen in some way.
If you have some idea, let me know.

Why no SCALE option for lightbox images?

Need SCALE options for lightbox images!
Must have SCALE DOWN option.
Images must scale down to display correctly on a smaller screen.
Currently Muse Lightbox FAILS on smaller browser screens.
Adobe please include this feature ASAP!

The problem with the Fullscreen Lightbox is that the images scale up and pixelate on a larger browser viewport.
(To avoid this requires a very large image that makes loading slow)
So for Fullscreen Lightbox I would like a SCALE DOWN ONLY option (requested previously). Then the images would not scale up above 100% and would float centred on larger browser viewports (FIT PROPORTIONALLY option used).
And for the standard lightbox a scale option, as requested above, would mean the image doesn't overflow on a smaller browser viewport.
The reason for asking for scale options is to keep images looking their best at 100%, and downscaling for smaller browser ports.

Why do we have separate selectors for "from" and "smtp server" these days?

A while back we shifted our email from our own domain and virtual server to gmail. As was the case using our own domain, we still have two seperate "from" names in a selector above the body of an email being composed, but now the selector for the SMTP server has two possibilities, both "smtp.gmail.com" but one ending with ":[email protected]" and the other ":[email protected]". So now we have the possibility of sending emails with the email addresses "crossed" between the two selections. Since both accounts use "smtp.gmail.com", is there a way to reconfigure the Apple Mail accounts so that there's only the "from" selector and not two entries in the server selector?

Open up Mail's preferences. Under the Accounts tab, highlight one of the accounts. Each account should have their own SMTP server with the correct user I'd and password. If not, create one for each by editing the SM TP list. With the correct server shown in the list for the account highlighted, check the box to use only that server for that account. Repeat for the other account. You will still have 2 accounts in the server list, but it will automatically send from the correct server unless you have problems. If so, you will be given the option to use the other.
Under the composing tab, select the appropriate account to send new messages from. You will probably want it set to send from the selected account.
There is another way with gmail. You can go into gmail's settings. In settings for one account, you can add the other address to it for sending messages and set it to show the correct account it is sent from. I haven't had a gmail account in years, so you will have to explore that option for yourself if you wish to use it. Then you can use the same server for both accounts.
You can also go in to settings for the second account and add the other to it. That way it will always show the correct address no matter which server an account uses.

Where to get overview of css selectors for skinning?

I've just started to try some skinning for ADF Mobile as described in the developer's guide section 5.12. The basics work fine and I grabbed an example from the skinning sample project.
Now that this is working I'm looking for all the available CSS selectors for skinning. Is there a list somewhere in the documentation or a way to find out the classes at runtime. Since I can't get access to the DOM tree with my favorite inspectors I can't think of a way to find the available selectors.
Has anyone found a way to list all available classes/selectors?

The easiest way is to get the Javascript debugging working. I've replied to the post on that thread to get that moving forward (you need to use Safari, not Chrome).
We are currently still producing the documentation for the css selectors and this wasn't ready for the preview.

Dynamic selector for MDB

Hello,
I want to achieve the following using JMS,
Receiving messages from producers with specific criteria, ex. give me only messages that have date less than now.
if I used MDB then I have the choice of setting the selctor only one time, is there a way to set it from time to time.
If not then how do I achieve that using a combination of session beans and MDBs.
Becasue I want to do some processing on the messages received of that criteria then resend them to other receivers.

Generally you cannot do this. The selector syntax does not allow comparisons against System.currentTimeMills(), and consumers don't allow changes to the selector. Within the specification, the best one can do is recreate the consumer over and over again. This is of course made even worse in that selectors for MDBs are buried inside a deployment descriptor. Nasty stuff.
WebLogic JMS allows you to specify a delivery time on a message. However it is considered an extension. Other vendors may have a similar feature, but there is no common API for it.

Add missing selectors for air in MXFTEText.css.   layoutDirection=rtl didn?\226?\128?\153t work in WindowedApplication if the width wasn?\226?\128?\153t explicitly set. WindowedApplication was using the internal _width variable in UIComponent rather than the setter so the mirroring transformation was being applied with a width of 0 ?\226?\128?\147 hence a blank screen.

Sorry about that. I am not exactly sure where the problem is, but I know it takes place after I put the <nav> in (in the html portion). If I understand what I am learning, the CSS at the top will structure my html code so I would have thought the CSS tageting my nav would be the focus. Maybe it is a different section though.

I cound not find any Bapi or FM for this. I uesd BDC for this but i can not rely on it.

Error Pay scale grpg for allowances for 02002162 is not defined on 20110408

Hi,
I do get the above error Pay scale grpg for allowances for &1 is not defined on &2 when running program RHECM_UPD_0008_FROM_1005 for Indian employees. I know that we have indirect evaluation for our Indian employees in it0008. And we do not have 'Define Pay scale grouping for allowances' (V_T7INA1) and 'Pay scale grouping for allowances' (V_T7INA3) configured for India. But then we are also not using payroll for India.
Most strange is, that the program runs just fine in the development system for a India test employee record, whereas it fails to run in the test system for a real live India employee.
The error message code is HRPADIN01 084 and is thrown by function module HR_ECM_INSERT_INFOTYPE. But since it;s code is all object oriented I'm getting terribly lost when trying to observe in debug mode what the actual problem is. When running the program I use planned comp. type 'S' (Salary Structure)
Employees in all other countries update just fine, and the planned compensation infotype on the employee's job code look fine also.
Would appreciate your help please as for what could be causing this error!

P.S. I have now maintained some test entries in V_T7INA1 and V_T7INA3 that match my employee's infotype 0008 entry. This does not make a difference unfortunately though. During debugging I found the message is raised in method CL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_0008_IN/CHECK_WAGETYPES_IN and within that method GET_ALGRP and then cl_hrin_services=>read_algrp.
In the method that reads t7ina3 the code is:

In there a_t7ina3 is filled initially (but interestingly field algrp is the only one that is blank). But since it is filled and matches the if not condition it does not go and select from the DB but clears t7ina3 and thus runs into the error afterwards.

- We now check descendant types against any superclass.
- Removed StyleProtoChain.getClassStyleDeclarations()'s recursive "Class" lookup for each superclass of an IStyleClient during the search for type selectors in the hierarchy. This was replaced with a simple describeType-based description (called once per type).
- Added a method to report whether any advanced styles had been registered with the StyleManager to optimize style declaration matching for the default case of simple style declarations.
- Removed advanced selector cache key calculation from StyleProtoChain in favor of the legacy simple type level cache. Future work may be required to cache advanced, display list sensitive style information.
- Fixed the specificity calculation for global selectors.

Since downloading iOS 7 can't move and scale pics for wallpaper?

Any tips on how to move and scale pics for wallpaper? Cannot be done since downloading iOS 7

I have tried a lot of the suggesstions I've found here and on the web -- the "Accessibility >> Reduce Motion" on/off stuff, editing the original image in Photoshop and e-mailing it to myself (downsized it, changed the overall canvas size of the image, etc., etc.), and I've found that the best fix might just be a combination of some of them, along with some tweaking of the photo...
Ensure that "Reduce Motion" is ON (Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion, set the slider to "on" (green)).
When taking a new photo, take it with your iPhone/iPad, oriented vertically ("Portrait") -- This makes the whole process quite a bit easier.
Access the photo in the "Camera" app.
Tap Edit.
Use the Crop tool to remove excess content from left and right (basically, you want a vertical rectangle, with your subject matter centered in it).
Tap Crop. The image will be slightly enlarged to fit your screen.
Tap Save.
Tap the "square with a vertical arrow" button (bottom left) -- Sorry don't know what this button is called.
Scroll through the options at the bottom of the screen and select "Use as Wallpaper".
Tap Set, then pick which screen(s) should use the photo. Bingo... new, properly-scaled wallpaper.
This is a band-aid at best, but it works. I've also Edited existing photos (taken in Landscape mode (wide)), and if I could crop the desired subject matter to fit in a tall rectangle, it more-or-less worked.
Side note: With "Reduce Motion" set to off, when I applied a photo as a wallpaper, I noticed that, even though I'd cropped it as a vertical rectangle, the image was still force-zoomed, and content was cropped out. Turn it back on, and the image was as I'd cropped it.
