  • SCCM console crashes when starting remote tools

I use SCCM console on 2 different Windows 7 computers. The working one is x86 and the non-working one is x64. The nonworking one is my main computer which is x64. It has worked in the past. So it is not a user permissions issue. When I try to use remote
tools to help users out with issues, I get the error posted below. I have not found much on this issue except to install .net, which I do have installed, as well as SP2 for SCCM. The server is also up to date with updates. I am the only one with this error
in my department of 8 people, all have no reported issues.

  • SCCM Console crashes on edit membership

My SCCM Console keep crashing on me when I try to edit memberships on an update in the software updates. I have this happen on two different servers that this use to work on perfectly fine on about a month a ago. I havent had a need to do this since the
last patch process. It doesnt appear to be because of any particular patch as it does the same for any patch in the list. I'm running SCCM 2012 CU 3 in the environment. My servers are Windows 2008 R2. I cant figure out if it was a patch or something that is
corrupt, but it weird that its on both servers.

  • HT1420 My old computer crashed so I bought this new one. I can't get my prevouis purchases and my new purchases will not let me add to my IPODs. I deauthorized all computers and just authourzed ths one. my new one. How do I get my music back and how do I

My old computer crashed andI bought a new one. When I went to Itunes I deauthorized all computers and then authorized my new one but I can not get my prevous purchases and I can not add my new purchases to my IPods with out it deleting all the music. How can I transfer everything that was on the old computer to this new one?

Whether you can redownload previous purchases depends upon the type of item (audiobooks and ringtones are one-time only downloads), what country that you are in (music, films, TV shows can't be redownloaded in all countries), and whether the item is still in your country's store (content providers occasionally remove their items) - what you can redownload will show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage
Or you should be able to copy purchases back from your iPod via the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option (if the drop-down menus aren't showing then control-B should get them to show).
If you have music from other sources on your iPod (e.g. copied from CDs) then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Or do you have a copy of them anywhere else e.g. on your backup of your downloads/library that you can copy them onto your new computer from ?

  • Problem with Out of Band Discovery resulting with Out of Band features not available in SCCM console for computers with provisioned AMT device

    Hi,
We configured the Out of Band component, but are using Intel SCS RCS to provision AMT devices remotely. The remote configuration process with Intel SCS works fine; we are able to connect to the AMT web UI and we can use a free KVM tool to manage the computer
    remotely.
The AMT devices are configured with AD integration, so an object is created for each of them in a specific OU. Also, an AD group is added to the AMT devices so remote PT Administration permission is granted to it. This group includes the ConfigMgr Site
Server account, the account of the server running the Out of Band Service Point and my own user account.
This configuration seems OK since when connecting to the AMT web UI, I use Windows Integrated authentication with my user account and can manage the device successfully.
So the only step remaining is running the OOB discovery to enable Out of Band features for the computers in the SCCM console. We want to use the ConfigMgr OOB console. I right-click a computer or a collection and launch the AMT discovery. I check the OOB
server log, I don't see errors; the OOB service point connects to the AMT device and discover a status of 4, which is Externally provisioned, as expected. The problem is the AMT Status, AMT Version and Provisioned AMT fields for the computer in the ConfigMgr
console doesn't get updated, even after doing display refresh.
Here's the amtopmgr.log (I changed computer name and IP address information to protect client privacy) :

    Thank you
    Patrick

I found something interesting on this problem, it seems the OOB discovery process is working fine, but for an unknown reason, the site server is not receiving the information from the OOB Service Point to update the AMT Status of the client in the SCCM
    database.
The log tells me that a DDR file is created to be sent to the site server. When looking into the SMS\MP\Outboxes\ddr.box folder, I see about 50 DDR files, the oldest one is dated when I started testing OOB discovery.
So the server is unable to send the files to the site server.
Also, since I started this thread, I noticed another issue that could be related to this problem. The same server is also holding the State Migration Point role, it is working fine, but when doing USMT operations, the status of the computer association is
not updated in the console (In Progress, Completed, missing USMT store path, etc.). When looking into the SMS folder on the server, I see a big backlog of SVF files containing information related to the SMP.
I looked into the log files, but didn't find the errors yet to explain this.
The computer account of the server is a member of the SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_Stat_XXX group on the site server.
Note that status messages are being sent successfully, I see them in the Monitoring node of the console under Component State, and there is no backlog in the SMS\MP\Outboxes\statemsg.box folder.
    Tnx for your help
    Patrick

I have tried to reinstall the console and recreated the Users profile but the problem still persists.  This affects all users that use the machine.  On other machines they are able operate just fine.  Any Ideas on what could be causing this?

Maybe not enough RAM on the box?
I would also clear the cache on the box which may help

  • What best way to turn on all computers remotely using sccm 2012 sp 1

what best way to turn on all computers remotely using sccm  2012
and what the difference  between wake on lan and out of band service point role

Hey!!! I am a 1E engineer and MVP... we started the power management movement with our very first software product, created around 12 or so years ago, called 1E WakeUp. The complete solution which manages power on (integrated with SCCM, or stand alone if
you are not an SCCM shop) and power off (under a tightly controlled process) is called
    NightWatchman
    Here is a
recent blog post I authored that was the last in a series documenting the entire wake-up process including how it integrates with SCCM or stood up standalone. It contains links to those earlier posts that explain our entire technology, so you will likely
want to read all of them in order for a full understanding of our technology. It works incredibly well, is the most mature solution in the industry, and is extremely simple to install with minimal resources.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me privately

  • ITunes crashes when "De-authorize all computers" is pressed iTunes 12

Current PC (Windows 7) never had iTunes installed. My other 5 authorized computers are dead.
Installed new iTunes 12, logged in to "De-authorize all computers" but as soon as I press the button the program freezes.
At the time of freezing the confirmation dialog appears behind the "This program has stopped responding..." error and I can't click on the confirming "yes de-authorize all computers" button.
    [enter] closes the program.
I don't get why the iTunes interface is the only way to access my account. I should be able to log into a secure online account and make changes to the iTunes account but that isn't possible as far as I can tell.

Since this is a users' forum - not an Apple Helpdesk - lack of response probably means that no-one has encountered the same problem or, if they have, cannot offer advice on how to resolve it.
You should be able to contact Apple Support and request that they de-authorize the computers on your account.  Also, there have been two updates to iTunes (12.1 and 12.1.1) since you first posted the issue, so its possible that the problem has been resolved in one of those.
Quite why there isn't an automated/secure web-based way to do this I have no idea - the whole authorization/de-authorization approach seems based on fears that iTunes/iPods would become a widespread method for illegal sharing of copyright material, something that might have been true in the early days of iTunes and the iTunes Store, but today must be a tiny risk compared to P2P networks and file sharing.

  • Need to authorise new laptop after old one crashed.  Have 5 computers already authorised and cannot wait until July for 12 month "Deauthorise all computers" to become available again.  How can I authorise this new laptop?

Hello... I need to authorise a new laptop after my old one completely died (before I could deauthorise it!!).  I have 5 computers already authorised and cannot wait until July for the 12 month "deauthorise all computers" option to become available again.  Does anyone know how can I authorise this new laptop as one of the 5, in place of the old one?  Any help gratefully received!

Go to one of the authorized computers and de-authorize it individually.
The one year limitation is ONLY for the de-authorize all option.

  • SCCM Console, untrusted forest

    Hi,
I have a site system server with MP, DP in a untrusted forest. Is it possible to install SCCM console on it and connect back to Primary server?
I have checked all ports that are in the documentation https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh427328.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396 regarding "Configuration Manager Console" but I still cannot run the console. I have tried opening
SCCM Console with RunAs and a account in the Primary servers forest.
Does the MP, DP need to have firewall ports open to the Primary servers forests domain controllers and to authenticate ?
In that case what are ports needed?
    /A

    Hi Peter,
We want to have a console on each untrusted forest site system server to be able to manage the computers in the untrusted forest with Right-Click Tools and Remote Control. Because the untrusted site system server is on the network already, many firewall
ports all already allowed. We don't want to do it through the Primary because of the difficulty of opening for all firewall ports that are needed for remote tools.
    Does that make sense?

  • Specific Event ID for all computers

    Hi,
We are using SCCM 2012 SP1. We need to know, how many users in our environment used remote assistance from their desktop to which other computers. Is there any way of discovering this using SCCM 2012. The built-in report in SCCM 2012 [Remote Control- All
remote control information] provides information related to remote assistance done from inside the SCCM Server itself.
Or, is there any way I can get the information of that particular Event ID [For remote assistance] from all the computers, which a user used to provide remote assistance to other computers in our domain.
    Regards,
    Hasnain.

Remote Assistance is an OS feature simply referenced in the ConfigMgr console thus ConfigMgr doesn't audit its use in any way.
A quick web search turned up this though which adds the OS level auditing info from the event log to the hardware inventory process of ConfigMgr:
http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jgilbert/archive/2007/08/08/inventorying-remote-assistance-requests-and-connections.aspx . You'll have to adapt it for 2012 as there are some differences although the principles are identical.

  • Reporting Services in SCCM Console (Cross Connect)

    Hi,
we have a cas - primary site setup and have a reporting point on our cas server.
when connecting to the cas server with the sccm console from a client i see all reports and all is fine.
when connecting to the primary site server and type in the cas server in the reporting services pane i see no reports.
i thought that's possible. i can open the .../reportserver website with the client of course.
    thx
    steffen

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with CSS as they can work with you to solve this problem.

My iMac (2011) has been persistently throwing this error message: "SafariDAVClient quit unexpectedly." This started when I moved up to Mavericks, from Lion. That's related since the process is attempting to load your Safari bookmarks from iCloud, and is crashing for some reason.
    Try this:
Select the entire line that follows (triple-click to select it), then control-click, and from the contextual menu that appears, select Services > Reveal in Finder:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCloudHelper
Drag that entire folder to the Desktop.
    Quit Safari.
Attempt to open iCloud Preferences again. If it opens de-select Safari.
Launch Safari again and determine if the problem is fixed.

    Hi,
Did you by chance restore an older version of the DPMDB or rebuild the DPM Server ?
Run the below Query in SQL Server management studio and see if they match.
    use msdb
    select * from syscategories
    where category_id = 100
    or name like '%dpm%'
use DPMDB --verify DPM database name and change accordingly
    select * from dbo.tbl_DLS_GlobalSetting
    where PropertyName = 'DPMcategory'
