"Scene", "Description", "Comment", and "Log Note" metadata fields don't appear in Prelude

Can I use the "Scene", "Description", "Comment", and "Log Note" metadata fields in Prelude that are basic parts of Premiere's logging screen? I can't find them in Prelude.
I would like to continue in the Premiere (CS6) workflow I have been using of adding a Scene, Description, Comment, and Log Note. These are front and center in Premiere for logging. Yet, nowhere to be found in Prelude. As far as I can tell, all of the rest of the metadata categories will transfer. It seems that these should be in the "basic" group in Prelude, but don't appear.

I have a similar problem, but it gets weird.
I have been very very happy with the whole 'cloud' computing thing and keeping my stuff at Google. Contacts and Calendar worked flawlessly since I bought the Pre.
However, last week, I had to do a full erase of my Pre (UK-O2) because no apps would install.
I logged into my Palm Profile on the phone; logged into my Google account just after, and checked my Calendar and Contacts.
Calendar - all fine, just a few cosmetic tweaks of the colours. Good.
Contacts - not fine. Only 19 of 58 were imported from Google, and none of them had their photos. So I hit the Sync Now button a few times - with and without WiFi - with and without 3G - but that did not help.
So I waited for it to do it itself. No change.
So I did some searching on the web. I checked that all the contacts were in 'My Contacts' at Google... yes. I removed the Google Contacts account from the Pre. Then added it back again.
Weird bit coming up.... exactly the same 19 contacts were added as before!
I am at a loss really. I have even tried creating a 'googlemail' account because a web page suggested it and logging in with that.
No change. Still 19 contacts not 58.
Also, I cannot add a contact directly in the Pre and have it whizz off to Google HQ like before. This now does not work.

Media Clips and log notes disappearing.

Set my project up; created bins and all organised; start making a sequence and editing away. But after a while I go back to the bins and all the media clips that are not associated with media clips on the time have disappeared! So the only media remaining are to do with clips associated with clips on the time line.

What I'm trying to accomplish is...
I have all my home videos transferred onto sequentially numbered one hour mini-dv tapes. These tapes are the media I will be drawing from for almost all video projects I will be creating.. so rather than import from tapes for each project, I want to import all my video as quicktime media files onto my external hardrives and use these same media files for all projects. I want to set up a logically named and structured system for these all inclusive media files and have them logged for content in such a way that I can find any clip I need by searching (either in FCP or in spotlight).. I want all media files to contain the time code that corresponds to the original tapes so that recapture from the tapes is possible if it should become necessary.
My thoughts so far are that I would like each media file to be representative of one scene and labeled yeardatetape# (example 19970204_36B for second scene taking place on feb 4 1997 captured from tape 36), although I haven't ruled out having longer media files that cover more dates or possibly an entire one hour tape.
What I've found so far is that I'm unable to capture an entire tape without it stopping (due to slight glitches in tape and camera issues). What has worked best so far by trial and error with my equipment is to log a clip for each scene on the tape.. making sure to leave about 4s of intro time at scene start if tape is glitchy and then batch capture all the logged clips. So far I'm entering information about the scenes content in the log notes but I dont know if thats the best place.
I have several questions regarding media management that come up as I try to figure out my system for logging and capturing. Since this is a big undertaking (about 70 hours of video to capture and log) I'd like to come up with the most logical way to accomplish my goals and only do this one time!

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
There are numerous converters online to convert the .VRO files into .VOB or MP4 or other which should be supported by Premiere Elements.
Maybe explore the free MPEG Streamclip for the conversion

OIM after BP12 patch system error and logging not working

I am using Weblogic 10.3.2 and need to install OIM. I have installed the 9.1.0.1 and then the patchset to 9.1.0.2. Then I have installed the bundle patch BP07 and everything was ok.
Finally I have installed the BP12: now i am unable to log in the OIM admin panel ( system error ) and i cannot connect with the design console (NullPointerException). The worst part is that OIM does not write a log file anymore, so i can't determine what's wrong. What should i do?

As an additional information, i just tried to revert to BP07, it still doesn't work.

Adobe Pdf Reader (Comments and Sticky Notes)

I have used Adobe Reader XI to review a document using comments/annotations.
After saving the file to pdf and following different edits a number of comments disappeared, leaving the file as follows:
23rd April 2015 - Comments Present
27th April 2015 - All Comments Lost
28th April 2015 - All Comments Lost.
29th April 2015 - Comments Present
30th April 2015 - Comments Present
Is there a way that the lost comments could be recovered?

friedbrains - this is the QuickOffice PDF reader, correct? I installed it a week or two ago, but it's a 14-day trial and mine is about to expire. A visit to Adobe.com takes me to the QuickOffice site for the acrobat reader so I don't think there's any other choice at the moment, is there?

Structure enhanced but fields don't appear in View Config

Hi,
I have enhanced the structure CRMST_QUERY_COMPL_BTIL with an append structure that has the fields CREATED_AT_DATE (type CRMT_CREATED_AT_DATE), SALES_OFFICE (type CRMT_SALES_OFFICE) and SALES_ORG (type CRMT_SALES_ORG).
Now I see these fields in the 'View Structure' tab of the component workbench, under the context node SEARCH in the view BT120S_CPL/AdvSearchComplEF. However, I do not see these fields in the 'Available Search Criteria' table in the 'Configuration' tab.
Do I need to do anything additional to make these three new fields appear in the available search criteria?
I am not using design layer.

Hi Rohan,
Create an attribute by right clicking on the context node's attribute list.There in the bol field you can select the field which u added as an append structure.
Once this is done,in the view config just add the newly created attribute as the search criteria from the available fields.
You need to implement some badi though to filter on the value of this search criteria.

New address book fields don't appear when importing CSV file

I've added two new fields to the Address Book template. The new fields appear when manually entering data for a new Card, but not when importing a CSV file. There's a drop down menu of field names for the import process but it does not include the new fields. Is there a way to modify this menu?

I would suggest looking at the Basic Troubleshooting steps at the following link:

Specifically, for your Question #1 above, I would suggest the First Aid procedure and running the 'Repair Database' option listed in the linked page.
Note - I strongly suggest not running the 'Rebuild Database' option unless all other troubleshooting steps have been exhausted. This is also a caution given by Apple.
For your Question #2, if the repair database does not fix that one, then lower on the linked page you will find the procedure for 'Delete the user preferences' which has sorted the issue for me in the past. FWIW, I suspect that the OS X indexing (possibly for Spotlight) may have something to do with this issue.
As I think you suspect, you should be able to see the photos specific to each Project when you select it one in the library inspector (whether in the folder or not).
Note - the behavior of seeing all photos from all projects in a folder is correct.

Comments show up in iWeb, but don't appear on published MobileMe site??

This seems to be a pretty recent problem, perhaps with the latest update?
So I have enabled comments on my blogs, and in iWeb, the "comment" option shows up. Comments worked previously, because I had several people who had left me comments... NOW, when I publish my site (through MobileMe), the option to leave a comment doesn't even show up on my site. What is going on, here? Needless to say, I am FRUSTRATED! Any help, advice would be great, a solution would be even better.

Drop down menus, context menus and auto fill menus items don't appear!

I have FF4 beta, this started since FF4 beta 7. I work on Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
The problem is that I can't see drop down menus unless they have alot of items, nor context menus (like highlighting a text then right-clicking it), auto fill bars don't show the auto fill info entered before .. the menu itself appears, kinda. but it's transparent and the I can't see the items, don't know where to click to select the thing I want.
I haven't got this problem before 4.0b7 .. after I got it, I thought it was one of the plugins, so I disabled them all but still have the problem!

Hardware accelaration disabled also worked for me. ATI Radeon 4670.
Seems the issue isn't set on one type of card. My flicker/vanish only did so on my secondary monitor.

Can I list other metadata fields in the Project window?

I would like to add some columns of metadata in the project list view, such as the custom field that I created on ingest, or the Description field. This doesn't seem possible but I can't imagine why not. The main reason is so that I can scan a list view of the files and spot the items that have a specific piece of metadata (e.g. comment: "good take")

A disclosure triangle could be useful in and of itself, but not what I'm referring to. I would like to know more about how the disclosure triangle would work, but my concern is that I would not be able to scan multiple files for progress (the main reason for a list view IMO) without twirling open each one individually.
Here is a better explanation of my issue. See the two attached screen shots comparing FCP's Log and Transfer to Prelude.
One of my current clients who I am assisting in their transition to Premiere, uses Log and Transfer to log reel name, clip name, and log notes for each. As they do it, they can see the results along the way so that the assistant editor/intern can see their progress and the producers can scan the results. In Prelude, there is no real parallel to this (perhaps by design, and perhaps there is a better method in the end). But, as compared to their current workflow, there's no way to scan the results as they do this work. Never mind the fact that there are no thumbnails (an item for a separate post). Note also that the method for adding log notes in Prelude is not intuitive (for example - editing the clip "Name" field using Dublin Core "Title" = not intuitive, particularly when the "Name" field is shown in the metadata panel, but not editable - likely because it is the filename not the clip name, but still a bit confusing). And, also for another topic, there is no easy way to pass through this data to Premiere for clip-level comments (e.g. "log note") and ideally export to a spreadsheet to hand off to an editor.
This could be partially addressed simply by mimicking the Log and Transfer behavior and allowing me to add a column populated by the Metadata field of my choice (and rearrange them and edit directly) to the Project panel.

How to generate unique IDs for a metadata field

We have a requirement to generate a unique ID for a metadata field. Does anybody know how this can be achieved? Ideally I would want to have a database sequence and specify the metadata field to get value from this database sequence, similar to how Content ID is generated.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Look into the Counters table. You should be able to create a component install filter to add in your field to the Counters table.
You could then create some Java code to fetch the next value from the Counters database for your field (and increment the value).

Won't connect to server - hotmail and BBM not working.

Hey BB Community,
I have two problems which I think may be connected through my phone's inability to connect to the server.
- First off, my contacts can't receive my BBM messages. I can write and send them off but they aren't received.
- Secondly, my email account (hotmail) is not working on my BB. It's supposedly connected and logged in, yet I don't receive any mails on my phone, nor do contacts receive anything I send. When I try to access my email account options, a message pops up stating "Your device had a problem connecting to the server."
Everything was working fine before I had to duplicate my SIM card (it was scratched somehow) and battery.
So my question is, how do I reconnect my BB to the server?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should again try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
