SCEP Hotfix 2952678 Included In SCCM 2012 R2 CU1?

Just installed SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 in my site. 95% of my clients are successfully upgraded and things are running smooth. I noticed that since the upgrade, my SCEP versions are still at 4.4.304.0 instead of the expected 4.5.0216.0. Is there an additional step
I need to perform after applying the hotfix and upgrading my clients to upgrade my SCEP clients to the latest version specified in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2952678 ? The KB says it's included in CU1.

Prestage content no longer working after SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 update

I run SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 on a Windows 2008 R2 server.
I upgraded to CU1 in June, and today is the first time I've attempted to pre-stage a package since then. After pre-staging my package and getting the content out to the target DP, I went to properties of the DP, checked the box "Enable this
distribution point for prestage content", then hit Ok.
Next I went to distribute the content to the DP, however after going thru the wizard, nothing changes. There is no pending status, waiting on prestage content, that I had seen in the past when doing this task. I can go in and run the wizard
again, and the target DP shows up in the list, like I'd never initiated the push before.
Normal (non-prestaged) distributions work fine.
In troubleshooting this, I also noticed that I looking at the site status of the target DP, there are no status message entries for since I upgraded to CU1 (for that matter, none of my DP's have any entries since CU1). I did see a similar issue like

Update membership is taking too long to update members in the collection - SCCM 2012 R2 + CU1

Hi,
We have a standalone primary site server hierarchy (SCCM 2012 R2 + CU1), Not only with this upgrade.starting from the SCCM 2012 SP1, We had an issue that members in the collections are not being updated as expected (like SCCM 2007).
I have created about 20+ query based collections with the normal with the "Full schedule" option but not used "Incremental update" option. Also i have observed that after a day or so..members are appearing.
anyone had solution to this, why this collection update membership in SCCM 2012 is improper?

Hi Torsten,
We have about 25 machines in each collection, My collection condition is based on the package (Ex:if the package is not installed on the machine, it will appear in the collection to target the package),
WQL query looks good, I have used the same logic for all the collections with different package.
I did not see any error in colleval.log, all the collections are evaluating properly,but I can see .CEP files in COLLEVAL.BOX which has 0 KB size.
Any Idea?

SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 to CU5?

We're running SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 now. I wonder what the biggest advantages/reasons would be to upgrade to CU5 (have read some of the release notes but am curious what your opinon is on this topic).

CU4 is the latest cumulative update for R2.
Organizations should plan to regularly apply cumulative updates to deal with known issues in the product. Remember that the release notes only cover major changes - there are often dozens or more changes not listed in the KB article. Don't wait to experience
the pain - fix the known issues.

Execute report error SCCM 2012 R2 CU1

Hello guys, my Customer have a SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 all part of SCCM is working exept the reporting.
I have install the reporting role and the installation succeeded on install but when I run any of the report we have an error:

Yes but, where is the place to add name and password? I have use the same account that I have take to install sccm. I have seted the name when i have installed the report role is it the place you talked?

This is known to happen if you modified any of the default reports
I've seen that happening even in my lab (and and customers) where I am sure that I did not modify them. Just delete them (they should be prefixed with "_").

I made a thread about unmanageable devices. I had this error too after updating my environement. In my scenario this particular error only occured after I updated to Exchange 2013 CU1. Therefore I believe this error is an Exchange related bug.
SCCM 2012 with Exchange 2013 gave me this error:
ERROR: [MANAGED] Invoking cmdlet Set-ActiveSyncMailboxPolicy failed. Exception: System.Management.Automation.RemoteException: A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'IsDefaultPolicy'.
SCCM 2012 CU1 with Exchange 2013 gave me the same error:

How to convert Unmanaged SCEP clients to Managed in SCCM 2012 SP1

We recently started installing SCEP clients from the .exe and a preconfigured .xml file to client machines in a domain setting. This was done from a USB drive, going from machine to machine, with a .bat file.
This was a stop-gap until we were able to install and configure SCCM 2012 SP1.
PCs that already had the SCEP client (prior to SCCM coming into production) are showing up as unmanaged. PCs that have had SCCM install SCEP all are listed as managed.
I've searched, but have yet to find a definitive answer as to how get the manually installed SCEP clients to register as managed in SCCM.

Also, make sure the Endpoint Protection Point is installed properly on SCCM and the Client Setting for SCEP is enabled.

Yes you can remove and reinstall the Role. I had to do this recently on our SCCM 2012 R2 due to an issue with the reports not loading. Found out that the problem with reports was from the upgrade to R2 from 2012 SP1 and was able to run
a command to re-register the reports with WMI. I actually removed the role, uninstalled reporting services feature from SQL, deleted the report databases, reinstalled the SQL feature, configured the reporting databases again, added the role back, and
ran the following command.
mofcomp "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof"
This allowed all my reports to register as they should have and run without errors. If you are having similar problems, you may be able to just run that command to get reports running without all the extra work I did. For us we were getting an
invalid Class error in the srsrp.log.

OoB Problems with SCCM 2012 SP1 CU1

Hi around, perhaps somone has tried this things out already and has a little hint for me.
After we got OoB Managment to work under SCCM 2007 we switched to SCCM 2012 now i have some problems bringing it to work again.
We use a Verisign Certificate for Provisioning, the Firewall Ports (9971 on Server and 19992, 16993 and 16995 on Client) are opend. The autoenrollment is active. DHCP 06 and 15 are set and configured.
The IIS SSL Settings are configured to accept Client Certificates and the Bindings are set to the Web Server Template. We tried to configure it using the Verisign Certificate but it didn't work that way either.
The Webserver Template is build after the Step by Step guide from MS.
The Verisign Certificate was build the same way, Organization Unit is set to Intel(R) Client Setup Certificate. It was imported in the Personal Certificate Store, exported and implemented in the Enrollment Point.
The AD Group exists and the Oob Managment Server has the permissions it needs.
The Oob Managment Point was configured like shown in the MS Step by Step guide.
The Client i'm testing with was fully unprovisioned.
Now the only Status i get is detected and when i try to discover AMT the amtopmgr.log brings the following errors.

We double checked the admin Account in the OOB settings but the password is right and i can manually log in to the MEBX with it.

SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 Client updates but not showing in Admin Console

I have updated my 5.00.7958.1000 client to Cumulative Update 1 (KB2938441). If I look on the client the version now says 5.00.7958.1203. My admin console when I click on the client still says 5.00.7958.1000. I tried update membership. It has
been a couple days since the update on the one. Another was early this morning. I have updated using the Patch and software package deployment. I have used the push installation to upgrade. In all cases, upgrade works, but in the console
the client versions are not changing and keeps saying version is the same.
Why wouldn't it update by now? This is crazy the time it is taking to show a new version has been installed/upgraded.
What process needs to happen? Are there specific logs for this data coming back to the console I can check?

We are a school district so the majority of our clients are intranet. Our WAN is connected with Gigabit connections. Single sccm primary site at center of the hub-n-spoke network topology. Server running Windows server 2012 w/ 4cpu and
16 GB RAM. Server running in VMware so we can easily increase spec if needed, so more interested in what the "common" configuration may be so I can test it with those settings first and adjust accordingly.
We have 3,500 clients, only 800 of which may go home the other stay on network at all times. A large number of those 3,500 are laptops that are in carts so they are not left on all the time so the different processes need to be somewhat frequent.
Additionally, it will be almost never that all those machines are on at the same time. Many could be sitting shutdown in the carts.
Please offer your opinion as to what good settings might be. I know they may not be perfect, but I can test them out.
Also checking the Client Settings under Administration workspace, I don't see all the same type of actions I do under the Client computer -> control panel -> configuration manager -> Actions tab. Are these configured elsewhere
or do they all fall under the "hardware inventory" and "software inventory" sections of the Administration -> Client Settings?

Is there a list of recommended hotfixes or updates for SCCM 2012 R2 agents? Things like .Net or WMI updates.
I am seeing the occasional agents lose connectivity, and I want to make sure I have a complete or recommended list of non-SCCM hotfixes before I move forward.

To my knowledge there aren't really any kind of recommended hotfixes to apply before a client installation, except for the prerequisites (that the client installs by itself). But as a best practice, always make sure that a client is up to date when it comes
to patches.

Migrate SCCM 2012 SP1 VM to another different host VM

1. I have a server name BACKOFFICE is has way too much work load including SCCM 2012.
2. I created a new VM called SCCMSERVER, I want to migrate SCCM 2012 off BACKOFFICE VM to the new SCCMSERVER VM.
3. BACKOFFICE still remain in production as other programs & services are running, just need to get rid of the SCCM server task.
What is the best practice for this task?

Hi,
1. if you change the name of your server you'll have to change sitecode also and therefore you'll also have to change the Database name so your old database won't be useful.
SQL License is included with SCCM 2012 as long as you use Standard Edition i guess (someone correct me if i'm wrong)
2. The tool is integrated with SCCM 2012.
You can run the migration jobs to retrieve data from your old CM2012 SP1 to your new environment.
