Schema name dependancy for DB Adapters in OSB

Hello,
We are having a problem with the DBAdapters used in OSB.
We have created a DBAdapter in our developement env where the database schema name dev_utilities.In our test env the schema name is test_utilities.
The DBAdapter in OSB would not work giving errors dev_utilities is invalid.
Anyway to fix this.We have same connection pool names though.
Thanks.

Are you using a managed connection.
when you use a managed connection it will not check for connection details in your wsdl instead it will get from the server using the jndi name that you have specified.
you can go through below link for creating managed connection

• Including library dependency for Java Callout in OSB Proxy

Hi,
I have a simple question for which a simple answer is eluding me:
I have developed a simple Java Callout for us in a proxy message flow and that Java class has a dependency on the Commons IO library but for the life of me I can see how I can ensure the proxy is deployed with the library in the classpath because when I perform a simple publish and test the service I get the exception:
<8/06/2009 10:22:27 AM NZST> <Error> <OSB Transform> <BEA-382515> <Callout to java method "public static void com.oracle.mtm.tools.Archiver.archive(byte[],java.lang.String)" resulted in exception: null

at etc...
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/io/FileUtils
at etc...
i.e. the Commons IO (e.g. org/apache/commons/io/FileUtils) is not in the classpath.
There must be a simple way of declaring this dependency or something and have the library loaded but I can't find it.
Any help much appreciated!

Well I managed to answer my own question in the end. It's simply a matter of selecting jar dependencies from other jars which can be done by double clicking ("opening") the jar within the OSB Conf project which opens a jar dependencies dialogue box. As expected it's easy when you know how...

• Bug: numeric schema names not managed correctly

If a schema name consists of numbers, the generated SQL will always fail.
In this case, it should put double-quotes around the schema name.
For example, dragging a table over to the query pane will generate a select statement,
but since it does not enclose the schema name in double-quotes, the error
"invalid table name" will be received when trying to run that query.
I am using version 1.2.1 Build MAIN-32.13.
Thank you.

Well, checking the documentation (we are on 10gR2), I do note the following:
"Nonquoted identifiers must begin with an alphabetic character...".
So you are right. Alas, this was not something with which I was involved.
Given that however, it would be a very user-friendly tweak to the product
to make it more usable - remember, this is a circumstance in which the SQL
generated by the tool is wrong, which does look bad as it is an Oracle product.

• Schema name not present on filename for "Save Package Spec and Body"

In versions previous to 3.0 EA, the filename defaulted to schema.object.sql when using the "Save Package Spec and Body" on the right click of the package/body. This appears to have disappeared. Also, it now defaults to the .PLS ext/type, which I prefer to save them as .SQL (which i can override, but it would be nice in the file type dropdown). Also, I had posted a suggestion about the actual file not including the schema name prefixing the object name when using the "Save Package Spec and Body". i.e. it does create or replace package reader_package instead of what it should be doing which is create or replace package schema.reader_package

Would be nice indeed having the real name as default, and all supported PL/SQL types (as in the preferences) in the extensions dropdown.
As for the schema name inside, I reckon that would do damage for more users than it would do good for others. But a preference would be best of course.

• How to programatically change schema name for an application ? JDev10g

I am using JDeveloper 10g 10.1.3.4
What I am trying to do is: while connecting to the database instace with login/passwd credentials for a specific schema, being able to take in
schema as a separate paramter and connect to that schema.
Connecting to a database instace ORCL to the hr schema say with hr/hr
supply a paramter schema_name: scott. and connect to the scott schema as the hr schema user.
In SQL Plus* all you do is
connect as hr/hr
and then
alter session set current_schema = scott.
While developing an application that autheticates against database username/pwd credentials I was using the methodology
as described on http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/dynamicjdbchowto.html
and http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.htmlexample 14.*[Dynamic JDBC Credentials for Model 1 and Model 2|http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/dynamiccredentials/DynamicCredentials1013.zip]* [10.1.3.3] 2006, Upd: 17-MAY-2007 by Steve Muench
In the DynamicJDBCBindingFilter that in the doFilter() method, I was trying to find a way to be able to specify the schema name
as in sessoion.setAttribute(Configuration.<SomeProperty>, schema);
is there any property/parameter that can be set to change the schema within the context of the application?
because in all the code that i see there are attributes of 'Configuration' that are being set.
So I don't think there is way for me to just write straight up jdbc code to
create a connection and run the statement "alter session set current_schema = scott"
and be able to pass the login credentials
and connect to the schema I want to.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I am not sure if JDBC really supports this. I found
JDBC alter session set ...
but this never got a success/failure statement.
If you want to use a singe connection but different schema for users then you may want to have a look at proxy user authentication, which is exatly doing what you want - use a single user to get into the database and then have him mapped to his own schema to work in

• What is the schema name for service part planning module

Hi Experts,
i need the following info
1. what is the schema name for SPP module
say for example we call ASCP as MSC, in similar passion what is the name given to SPP.
2. I have searched for the table details in etrm site ( in R12.1.1 ) but it is not available, can anyone help me out to get the table details in SPP ?
Thanks for your valuable time.
Bye
Babu

Thanks Bob for your clarification.
Do you have any idea, which are all the table that got linked with SPP in the MSC schema ?
If we have any separate link in metalink, pls share that link.
Thanks again for your valuable time.

• Parameterize schema name in AMDP for accesing different SLT replicated schemas

Hi All,
We need to create an AMDP for accessing tables from different schemas with SLT replicas of different ERP instances.
Does someone know if it's possible to parameterize schema name on AMDP so it's possible to use the same stored procedure for accessing the same tables on differen schemas on the same HANA DB instance?
Best regards
Fernando Alvarez

Dear Fernando Alvarez,
Does your use case require access to multiple schemas during the same call to the AMDP method at runtime or is it the case that during a method call you would access only one specific schema?
If later is the case you might want to check the possibility of using secondary database connections from AMDP. From NW AS ABAP 7.4 SP08 onwards AMDP methods support the usage of secondary database connections(maintained from DBACOCKPIT).
You can find more information from this help documentation.
Additionally you can refer to the following blog as well.
Please let us know if this information is helpful to identify the right solution for your use case.
Best regards
Sundar

• Missing schema names in sqlj generated for packages

We are using jpub, version 8.1.6.0.0 Production to generate code for ~100 packages and objects.
We are creating a connection other than the schema owner, and have prefixed all the lines in our input file with the schema name and a period. We AREN'T using the "omit_schema_names" option
The generated .sqlj code for objects includes a line like:
public static final String SQLNAME = "GHMINT.WD$DISPATCHER_CHNG_TRIP_OBJ";
where "GHMINT" is the schema we want.
HOWEVER, the generated .sqlj code for package methods includes code like:
#sql [_ctx] __jPt_result = { VALUES(WD$SECURITY.USER_LOGIN(
with no schema indication, and we would get errors complaining about undeclared identifiers.
We have a workaround that involves a sed script that inserts the schema info in the appropriate places, but this seems like a bug in jpub.
Comments, RTFMs, or pointers to a newer version would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Thank you for pointing out this oversight. It will be fixed promptly.

• 'schema is missing for the component ' while creating a web service

Hello,
I am trying to create a web service in Application Explorer on my dev server as described in:
http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28996/config.htm#BABBJHHF
I use an adapter for JDE Edwards EnterpriseOne. After supplying the parameters (service, license, method name) I get: com.ibi.bse.AddWSWorker:java.lang.Exception: schema is missing for the component.
I think the environment (JDE system, GenJava files) is configured correctly as I am able to communicate using J2CA.
Debug mode produces ibse_log.txt with some errors (below) but this does not give me a clue to the solution. Could you point me in the right direction?

• How to get the current schema name

Hi,
Can anybody please tell me how to get the current schema name, there is some inbuilt function for this, but i am not getting that. Please help me.
Thanks
Jogesh

ok folks, I found the answer at Tom's as usual.
http://asktom.oracle.com/tkyte/who_called_me/index.html
I rewrote it into a function for kicks. just pass the results of DBMS_UTILITY.FORMAT_CALL_STACK to this function and you will get back the owner of the code making the call as well some extra goodies like the name of the code and the type of code depending on the parameter. This ignores the AUTHID CURRENT_USER issues which muddles the schemaid. Quick question, does the average user always have access to DBMS_UTILITY.FORMAT_CALL_STACK or does this get locked down on some systems?
cheers,
paul

• Dynamic File Name depending on the Source File name

Hi Experts,
I have a problem like Dynamic File name depending on the Source File Name. I will explain with example as follwos
Source File name Targer Folder/Filename
NK01.VR59.L2007030 VR59/Rec.l200
NK01.VR71.L2017030 VR71/Rec.l201
NK01.VR77.L2027030 VR77/Rec.l202
See above the exaple, Depending on the Source file name, I am deciding where i need to place my file and what name i need to name it.
So please suggest me the solution and How can i do this with a single communication channel ? Do i need to create multiple CC for each folder??
Points will be rewarded for Valuable anwer.
Thanks in Advance,
Best Regads,
Vijay

Hi VIjay,
Thanks for quick reply. But i am getting error in End to End Scenarios only. If i remove the Return " " statement from the UDF, while activating it is showing the error saying like missing return statement. I also mapped to the top most node to this UDF.
I am getting the following error in End to End error Scenarios:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>

• How to configure the schema name dynamically based on user input.

configure the schema name dynamically based on user input.
For ex:
We have two schemas:
Schema1 - base schema having 15 tables.
Schema2 - tables which is specific to modules. Having only 10 tables which is also available in Schema1
Login to application using Schema 1
Access a particlular module and select the country. Here country selection is identified.
Based on the country selection, we need to connect the schema respectively.
If the user selects France --> It should connect Schema1
If the user selects Germeny --> It should connect schema2.
Used: Eclipselink

You may want to have a different persistence unit for each country, then you just need to switch persistence units, and can put the schema in your orm.xml file.
You may also want to investigate EclipseLink multi-tenant support,
http://www.eclipse.org/eclipselink/documentation/2.5/jpa/extensions/a_multitenant.htm
You can the schema in a persistence unit in code using a SessionCustomizer and the tableQualifier.

• Is there a way to bring the schema names forward when you deploy a mapping?

Hi all,
I am working in a database instance where there are objects in multiple schemas needed for a single mapping. Currently I have to create a grant statement and then create a synonym to get the deployed package to compile and run. Is there an option I can turn on where instead of it just bringing forward "<Table_name>" that it will generate "<Schema_name>"."<Table_name>"?
This would remove the need for creating all of the synonyms I currently have to create.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Shaun

So you need a different location for each schema, the 'masteruser' that can access all the schemas is used for authentication as below (so MASTERUSER has access to SCOTT and HR), see how MASTERUSER is provided for the user name and the specific schema (HR or SCOTT) provided for the schema:
Then when code is generated the schema is added to the table references:

Cheers
