Schema validation of Incoming Messages

Does anyone know how to do Schema validation on incoming messages into XI 3.0?  Its not clear to me.

Hi Dan,
You can find the documentation availability details at the following links:

Why XI does not validate incoming messages using its XML Schema? Is there a simple way to do it? (without developpping)

many ways as per Thorsten's presentaions on teched:
    1. java/abap mapping
    2. XSLT transformations - schemetron
    3. in adapter modules
    4. in pipleline service on IE

  • Schema validation of messages

    Hi everybody.
Does anyone know if XML Schema validation of incoming messages will be implemented in upcoming XI patches or full releases? You can do it yourself, of course, in an adapter module or a Java mapping program, but both options seem somewhat roundabout.

You are sooooo right, man! I'm thinking exactly the same! I'll have a XI Walldorf man in hand probably in a few days and I'll ask him. I'll let you know.

  • Schema Validation failure in SOA Suite 11.1.1.6.0 but not in 11.1.1.7.0

I have a composite that is deployed on both a SOA Suite 11.1.1.6.0 and 11.1.1.7.0 server.
The composite exposes a service that my application subscribes to and sends messages to so the BPMN process can handle the request.
This works fine in 11.1.1.7.0.  However, in the older version, when the message gets sent out, I'm getting the error shown below.
I've made sure that Schema Validation is disabled on all of the endpoints, but that doesn't appear to have any affect.  Any thoughts?

It appears that the Exchange web service doesn't like the schema FIM is presenting. Anyone seen this? Is there a trace setting that will dump out the call to the Exchange
    server?
I have tested that I can hit
    https://fqdn_server/ews/exchange.asmx
from the FIM Service account and the certificate is correct.

After getting product support involved, it turns out that we were pointing the FIM Service at an Exchange 2013 server but the mailbox had been created on and was physically stored on an Exchange 2010 server. By pointing FIM at the 2010 server or by trying
to send notifications to mailboxes on the 2013 server, we could make it work. Moving the mailbox from the 2010 server to the 2013 server did not solve the problem. It had something to do with mailboxes that were originally created on a 2010 server but
were accessed over EWS from a 2013 server.
It also was not a FIM issue. We used an EWS diagnostic tool (EWSEditor) to test outside of FIM and saw the same results.
The final result to get the specific user working for notifications was to create a new mailbox for them on the Exchange 2013 server.

  • Adapter Engine XML Schema Validation Error Surpression

We recently developed a number of web services that are called by 3rd parties outside our network. The web service request once made is picked up by a Web Dispatcher which then forwards the request to the de-central adapter. Both of these components reside within within a DMZ.
We have, as an additional security measure made use of the new Adapter Engine XML Schema validation available with PI 7.1, to ensure that the payload of incomming messages is checked to ensure that it is a known structure.
Now here is my problem, we recently had these services penetration tested by a 3rd party to ensure that they were secure and whilst the report was very good showing no major weaknesses they did pickup on a couple of items including that the fact that if the XSD to be used during payload message validation cannot be found an 'ADAPTER.JAVA_EXCEPTION' is returned to the web service consumer that highlights the path details of where the XSD should be (but could not be found).
This was viewed as useful to an attacker for a number of reasons:
    1. Feedback in SQL injection attempts via verbatim DB error messages greatly improves attacker efficiency
    2. Path information is useful to the attacker for OS fingerprinting, directory traversal attempts
    3. Other miscellaneous stack trace information is useful to an attacker to understand how the application works
Is there anyway this can be surpressed so that the adapter does not show this information in the returned error message - see example message below ?

    Hi,
We are having the same problem, so you are not alone.
I had an extensive call with Azure premium support and we where able to determine that:
    - Nothing is missing or in the wrong place in my exported .xml file.
    - Any changes to the VNET's using the web gui interface of https://manage.windowsazure.com is not possible when you have dns servers and use an gateway
    - You can download the .xml configuration file of the network and make manual changes to it, then import it again , to add/remove dns servers and or subnet's.
I am currently waiting for an solution,  i have let them lower the urgency from A to B (because i can make changes trough xml) and responded to the next support contact (saying he will continue with the issue) that the problems seems to be with azure and
he should speak with the previous person helping me.  I have not heard from Azure support since.

I hope microsoft is going to resolve this soon, as i do not want to edit my xml for little things like adding a subnet all the time. I have requested an status update in the issue.

  • Biztalk EDi schema Validation

    Hi Experts,
Currently we are validating the EDI IFSCUM schemas at the pipeline level, now I have a requirement in such a way that the message should come to Orchestration and in Orchestration i will validate the incoming message against schema validation method.
I tried to keep the edivalidation set to false and dropped the message with wrong record count in UNT record.
But this message is failing at port level, i need to pass this message to orchestration.
How can i bypass these kind of validations at port level?

    Hi Sandy,
Some of the EDI validations are performed always irrespective whether the EDI validation is enabled or not.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb226369.aspx
Refer the msdn article above. This specifies the validation that are performed always and validation which are done only if the EDI Data validation is enabled.

  • Exchange 2013 CAS-MBX recipient validation rejects entire message if any of recipients are invalid

    Hi,
How can I enable recipient validation work in this design:
2 Exchange 2013 servers with CAS and MAILBOX roles both, DAG and Hardware Load balancer for HTTP and SMTP traffic.
    From Exchange documentation:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125187%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx
Although the Recipient Filter agent is available on Mailbox servers, you shouldn't configure it. When recipient filtering on a Mailbox server detects one invalid or blocked recipient in a message that contains other valid recipients, the message is rejected.
If you install the anti-spam agents on a Mailbox server, the Recipient Filter agent is enabled by default. However, it isn't configured to block any recipients. For more information, see
Enable Anti-Spam Functionality on Mailbox Servers.
If You have a setup like this:
    Install antispam agents:
    Identity Enabled Priority
    Transport Rule Agent True 1
    Malware Agent True 2
Text Messaging Routing Agent True 3
Text Messaging Delivery Agent True 4
    Content Filter Agent True 5
    Sender Id Agent True 6
    Sender Filter Agent True 7
    Recipient Filter Agent True 8
    Protocol Analysis Agent True 9
    Have Recipient validation enabled:
Name                  Enabled RecipientValidationEnabled----                  ------- --------------------------RecipientFilterConfig    True                      True
    Have AcceptedDomain AddressBook enabled:
    DomainName DomainType AddressBookEnabled
    contoso.com Authoritative True
Then You have a situation, where a single invalid recipient on an incoming email message would reject the entire message! I guess this is because the recipient filtering happens on the mailbox server.
So .. HOW? Is it possible without Edge servers? Have I missed something?
I hope this feature isn't "missing by design", because it will be very difficult to explain to the client, that such an expensive product cannot do what any mail server can - reject unknown recipients before taking E-Mail data. There are a lot
of issues with this feature missing (possible DDOS with max attachments, or spoofed sender e-mail address that is a spamtrap, so NDR from Exchange would get You to SBL, etc.).
    Sincerely,
    Vince

  • Processing Schema Validation error in BPM?

    Hi all,
We have a file to IDOC scenario where if the schema validation fails on the file adapter sender agreement, we want to pull the filename and send it in an error email. So, we are talking about the adapter specific message attribute "Filename".
unfortunately, this does not seem to be available as a container element for alert catagories in ALRTCATDEF. So, we are starting to look into using BPM to send a email via the email adapter. However, since the validation happens prior to BPM being called I am at a bit of a loss. Any ideas on how to get the email with the filename out to the suport group would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Error in schema validation in XI. Please help!

    Hi Experts,
I have a FILE to proxy scenario. In the sender agreement I have selected schema validation by Adapter. (Other option is by Integration Engine). Now when the file I get an error in sender file communication channel monitoring:

Do I need to keep the schema file in some server location?  Do I need to setup this path anywhere? Where do I need to place the schema file?
What is the difference between validation by adapter and by integration engine?
    Please help!
    Thanks
    Gopal

    >What is the difference between validation by adapter and by integration engine?
Both are same. One in Java engine and the other in the abap engine.  If you set at one place that is good enough.  In 7.1+  this becomes one of the pipeline steps.
    >Do I need to keep the schema file in some server location? Do I need to setup this path anywhere? Where do I need to place the schema file
Yes you have to place schema in the server location.
Refer the Rajasekar document for the placing this file in the server location.

  • Urgent - please help with osb-service bus schema validation.

like witch fields that cause the error ?

The fault variable in your stage error handler will have the approariate information. Just add a stage error handler in the stage you are doing schema validation (make sure that in validate action you are selecting "raise Error on validation failure") and the error handler log the $fault

  • DTD/ schema validation and XSLT

    Hi
I want to do mappings from IDoc to CIDX messages. The first choice was to do XSLT mappings. But because we need DTD/schema validation we switched to Graphical mapping.
But mapping idocs to cidx messages with graphical mapping is proving to be a difficult job with all the context problems.
Is it possible to combine the advantages of both mapping techniques in the following way.
Define 1 interface mapping with 2 message mappings in it:
    - The first 'source to target' with XSLT.
    - The second 'target to target' with Graphical mapping (only connecting the top node) so we can have DTD/Schema validation.
    Kind regards
    Thierry

    hi,
    Source - XSLT - Target1
    Target1 - GM - Target2
If what I understand is correct,in your INTERFACE MAPPING , then your Source Interafce will point to messagetype of typr SOURCE and Destination Interface will point to message type TARGET2.
If yes, then like i told use SOURCE with XSLT to create TARGET1 , then use TARGET1 as the input to your next mapping program and create the TARGET2 as the output.
    In your message mapping,
1 SOURCE   TARGET1  will act as the source and destination message types for one mapping (XSLT>)
    2. TARGET1 TARGET2 will act as the cource and destination mesage types for the other mapping (GRAPHICAL)

  • Validation of Input message

    Hello All,
Here my requirement is to validate(check for mandatory fields and length limitation) the incoming message before message mapping.
In PI 7.1, we can do validation of the incoming message at Sender Agreement and Receiver Agreement level by selecting options Validation at IE and Validation at AE.
In case of Outbound scenario's(from SAP ECC to SAP PI) we does not create Sender Agreement.
So, can some one to suggest me how can I validate my incoming message incase of OB?

In this case, You cannot use PI's XML Validation. Use Java Mapping. Basically you have to read the XML document using parser to validate and if error stop right there.
