SCM and LabView integration?

I'm looking for an SCM tool that provides an integration with the LabView
IDE. Can anyone help me with this?
TIA
Paul Henderson

I'm sure many people will point out to you the SCM tools that come with LabVIEW Professional. However, an alternative that we are using successfully is with Microsoft Visual Source Safe. Using the active-x interface, we were able automate a lot of the basic tasks - without upgrading to Professional. Although this only benefited us since we already owned the VSS licenses.
Good luck!

  • Font Size Difference between Exe and Labview IDE

I'm stumped on the following issue and surprizinglycan't find any references that are similar on this forum.
I've developed an application which, when built to an Exe, has different font sizes than when executed on the same computer in the Labview Integrated Development Environment.  In each instance the screen resolution is the same.  I've used the "Application Font".  I'm having trouble figuring why the font would render differently in each case.  Of possible signifigance is that I'm running the Exe by simply browsing to the folder where the build procedure drops it instead of building an installation.
I've attached one of the most glaring examples that shows the rendering in each case.
I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction to resolve this issue.

    Hi Doctor,
    two notes:
for the font size differences: I would try to change the font settings
to a more 'specific' font like Arial 14pt. The application font is set
somewhere in an ini-file and the setting may change with the
    environment (IDE vs. exe-rt).
for your attachment: please convert pictures to jpg or png. This will
reduce size by orders of magnitude :-) And please crop them, unless you
have a very (VERY) beautiful desktop background picture!

  • CIF: When multiple regions work on same SCM and ECC box

    Hi All
We have a situation where North America and Europe use the same SCM and ECC box.  Currently SNP/PPDS is live in Europe only. So ,before taking the network/deployment optimizer run,we stop the CIF using program RSTRFCI1. This stops the CIF for whole SCM box.  Now we plan to go live with SNP for North America. Hence we can not use RSTRFCI1 as it will stop CIF for both North America and Europe.
Question is: How can we stop CIF for particular region/integration models etc ?
We know, we can deactivate/activate the integration models every day but we do not have this kind of window available.
I am sure some of you must be working on this kind of scenario.  Your suggestion and solution would be highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Pradeep

    Hi pradeep,
You have different options to do that.
    1. Remove distribution difinitions for North America DC's and plants. Deactivate the intigration models ( Only activate Europe locations in the integration models).
    2. In  OLTP settings Deployment and heuristic orders set periodic transfer and when sending them to ECC through /SAPAPO/C5
restrict as per source or destination locations.
    3. Run heuristcs through selection profile where only select the locations whichever relevent to Europe.

  • How Multisim, ELVIS 2+ Board, and Labview All Connect

My school recently obtained some ELVIS 2+ boards and I have been tasked with figuring out exactly what they can do and how we can incorporate them into the curriculum as part of my work study.  Now I have all the basics down for building a circuit on the ELVIS, getting measurements and controlling inputs on the computer etc.  I would like to delve deeper into what the full potential of this device is by integrating it with multisim and Labview.  My question is, is it possible to construct a circuit (or partial circuit) in multisim and then send the output of said circuit to the ELVIS board where it could feed into an actual circuit.  For example, could I build a voltage supply virtually in multisim, and output the voltage to a specific pin on the ELVIS board where I could wire it into my built circuit?  Along the same lines, could I build a circuit on the board and send the output of the circuit to a program in Labview?  Is this board capable for such things or is its connections to labview and multisim just used as a comparison tool for real life readings and simulated readings?  What is the full potential of this board?

    Hello,
Glad to hear about you work with NI ELVIS. The integration between ELVIS and Multisim is limited to running circuit simulations and then comparing results with the real circuit, in other words, you can compare simulated vs real measurements; this is a great approach to circuits education.
Now, if you want to have more control of the inputs/outputs available on NI ELVIS, then LabVIEW is the perfect fit. In LabVIEW you can use the NI ELVISmx Express VIs to configure settings for all the instruments. Furthermore, NI ELVIS is supported by the NI-DAQmx driver, therefore you can use the NI-DAQmx functions to acquire signals from the analog inputs, generate signals in the analog outputs, access the digital I/O and program general counter/timing functionality.
Visit the NI ELVIS & NI myDAQ Instruments and Applications community to learn more about the integration between ELVIS and LabVIEW; in this page you will find some ready-to-use applications.
    Hope this helps!

  • Euresys Picolo image acquisition and LabVIEW

    Hi all,
Unfortunately I have bee asked to use a Euresys piccolo image acquisition card in LabVIEW. I my case I only need to display the image on / on top of a LabVIEW front panel. Yes – I know it would have been much better to use an NI card but sometimes other people........
Anyway my question is - has anyone out there managed a reliable interface to the piccolo dll yet? I’ve been looking at the ActiveX interface but it looks like an exceptionally tricky job. I see there are few previous discussions that will be of help should I have to start from a blank VI.
    Any advice appreciated,

    Hi Martin
I have had a look for you this afternoon to see if I can find an example for you as to how to communicate to you Euresys frame grabber in LabVIEW but an example or driver is not available. It should though be possible to comunicate with your board using the manufacturers dll. You mentioned that you were aware of other forum posts that will be helpful in you starting to develope you code but I thought it might be helpfull to post some links below.

  • Unity 3D and LabView

Has anyone here successfully managed to connect a LabView VI to an action initiated from within a Unity 3D developed virtual world (or game)?
I have been successful in transferring a signal from an Open Sim (think Second Life) 3D world to a LabView VI which in turns activates a robot motor.
But no luck replicating this in Unity.
Just trying my luck here :-)

It sounds like it is all about building correct interfaces between the third party software and LabVIEW.

  • NI LabView integration with TSI TrakPro

    Hi Everyone
    I am a part of
a group of people trying to finish a senior design project this summer.
For our instrumentation we have a few TSI SidePak AM510 Particle
Monitors that we would like to integrate with National Instruments
hardware and LabView software. We will most likely use a Compact
FieldPoint system, but we aren't quite sure yet. I was wondering
whether anyone here has had experience integrating LabView with any of
TSI's instrumentation or hardware. Their software to use with the PC is
called the TrakPro, which seems to be able to be programmed with
HyperTerminal. If anyone can be of service we would greatly appreciate
    it. Thanks.

Can you automate the particle monitor through its serial port?
Actually, it only has a USB port. We are trying to look for older versions of the instrument that may have a serial port. I don't know if a USB to serial port adapater would work.
Also, it doesn't seem like any DAQ has USB inputs, correct?
What functions do you want to automate?
We need it to send the data for TSP/particle sampling of the cigarette smoke to the DAQ. It would be nice if it could read in the data and control the flow rate accordingly, but
we're too behind on the project to be able to do that right now. I think it will be an open loop system.
What do you want to do with the data that comes back?
We just need to monitor the TSP/particle concentration of the flow in the cigarette smoke that is flowing through our system. These will be set up at 3 sampling port areas in
the system. Actually, we will need to do both sampling of flow and flow characterization, which will not be done simultaneously, but at different times.
How fast do you need your loop rate?
The duration of each experiment will be around 4-6 hours. For this kind of experiment, maybe every minute, or five minutes, would be a good rate.
What else does your platform need to do?       We basically need a DAQ and Instrument control device. It is going to acquire data from other instrumentation and control flowrates as well.

  • Data exchange between SAP SCM and an external java tool via JCo

    Hi everybody,
the situation i am in is the following:
We are developping a java application for production planning using multi-agent systems. What I am currently working on is an integration concept towards SAP via JCo. I am using a SAP SCM System.
What i got is the following:
I got the JCo connection to SCM and I am able to execute BAPIs from Java.
Now my problem is the following:
We want to recognize a change in the SCM System, e.g. when someone added a new manufacturing order. What do I have to do for that?
Do I have to register a JCO.Server as a RFC Destination?
Do I have to use SCM EventManagement to handle the corresponding events?
In Java terms, what I want is a EventListener for some events - but neither do I know how the events are created nor how they are transferred to third party systems...
    Anyone with a hint?
    Thanks a lot!
    Greetings
    Jan

    Hi Jan,
architecturally you will need to determine a point in the SCM application logic to understand that a relevant event has occurred and then issue a notification "message" - in your case it sounds like your system is directly coupled so it wouldn't exactly be a message but an RFC call instead.
On SCM itself all you need is the RFC-enabled function module interface (an ABAP development), a logical destination and a hook somewhere in the application logic to make the RFC call.
From a JCo perspective you then just have to implement an "RFC server" that responds to these RFC calls.
Most difficult part will be to find a suitable hook in the SCM application logic that doesn't modify any delivered SAP code but uses an enhancement technique like a BADI.
Anything you can share about your planned development? Is this specifically for a customer or are you planning on releasing a product?
    Regards, Harry.

  • Profinet and LabView

    Hi all,
I need to drive a Siemens variator from LabView Windows or LabView RT, i don't know yet the needs of my customer in terms of determinism.
So I guess Labview will be the profinet master on the bus.
Can I use a standard ethernet port to implement this master ? Or do I have to you a specific board like Comsoft ?
Is there any library or toolkit which implements profinet on standard ethernet port with LAbVIEW ?
    Thanks for your help !!!

    Hello,
Profinet requires deterministic timing and onboard CPU power to run the protocol. Profibus/Profinet National Instruments cooperates with Comsoft and they should have a Profinet board with good LabVIEW integration available.
Please contact Comsoft for further information.

  • Error involving Report Generation Toolkit and Labview Run Time Engine

Developed an application using LabVIEW 6.1 and LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office 1.0.1. From there, tried to build a shared application for use with the LabVIEW Run Time Engine. The Run Time version functions properly until "New Report.vi" is called and then an error is generated, code 7, calling out "Open VI Reference in New Report.vi" could not be found. When building the application, I did include the "NI Reports Support" in the advanced installer options. The machine used for original development and application build is running Windows XP Pro and Office XP. Any suggestions??

I am having the exact same problem but with LV 6.1 and M/S WORD 2000. It appears that the "New Report.vi" is trying to open "C:\APP.DIR\Word_Open.vi" and "C:\APP.Dir\Word_Open_Document.vi" by reference. The "OFFICE 2000.TXT" says that "_exclsub.llb and _wordsub.llb must be added as support files when building an application or a dynamic link library with the application builder." I added them as Support Files and I copied them to the "C:\TESTER\" where the TESTER.EXE is and I still get ERROR 7 in "NEW REPORT.VI" at VI OPEN REFERENCE.
Do I need to make a "C:\TESTER\DATA\" sub-dir and put the support files there?
I am building on MY COMPUTER on F: Drive on a network and transporting files to the real Tester.
    I displayed my App.Property of APP.DI
R at start up and it is C:\TESTER\ ! How would my application know that "Word_Open.vi" and "Word_Open_Document.vi" are actually inside the _wordsub.llb?
    Any ideas ?

    Hi there,
Have you applied any patches to 9ias since it was first installed? We had the same problem and had to apply a couple of patches to get the portlets working.
    1. Apply the 9.0.2.53.16 one-off patch for Oracle 9iAS Discoverer which takes Discoverer up to 9.0.2.53.16. This patch appears to be password protected and you need to get someone at Oracle support to give you a password.
    2. Apply the Discoverer Portlet Provider: 9.0.2.53.00c patch (patch no. 2595444) which gives you a new discportal.xsl file that actually works. It's this second step that solves your problem but you need to do step 1 before this. This is password protected as well.
    3. As you've upgraded Disco on the server to 9.0.2.53, you'll need to upgrade Disco Admin & Desktop within your 9iDS installation using patch no. 2555265. This is because Disco 9.0.2.53 uses an upgraded EUL that Disco Admin & Desktop need to be patched to use.
This was the course of action Oracle support advised us about nine months ago. Of course they may have released a further patch to Disco that does 1 & 2 in one go, but we regularly carry out steps 1 and 2 on servers we use and we can use the Disco portlets successfully.
    Hope this helps

  • Question regarding MM and FI integration

    Hi Experts
I have a question regarding MM and FI integration
Is the transaction Key in OMJJ is same as OBYC transaction key?
If yes, then why canu2019t I see transaction Key BSX in Movement type 101?
    Thanks

No, they are not the same.  The movement type transaction (OMJJ) links the account key and account modifier to a specific movement types.  Transaction code (OBYC) contains the account assignments for all material document postings, whether they are movement type dependent or not.  Account key BSX is not movement type dependent.  Instead, BSX is dependent on the valuation class of the material, so it won't show in OMJJ.
    thanks,

  • Jabber and O365 integration

    Hello,
Do we need any additional licenses from Cisco or Microsoft to make a full possible integration between O365 and Jabber ?
    For example features like :
Single Inbox Unified Messaging with SpeechView transcriptions,  Microsoft Word Click to Call, SharePoint Presence & Click to Call,  Jabber video calling and desktop sharing, and WebEx on desktop and iPad,
    Thank you for your help
    Best Regards,
    Tomasz

    Tomek,
There is no direct integration between Jabber and Office 365, except for Exchange Gateway integration on IMP server side which is not supported with Office 365. All other Jabber integrations do not go to Office 365, calendar client integrations are done with Outlook, and UM integration is between Office 365 and Unity Connection, which does not affect Jabber.
