SCOM OperationsManager database login error 34502 and 4513

Hi!
At a customer I get a lot of events in the SCOM log about that the scom_dw account can not login into OperationsManager db.
I get first one 34502 event:
An error related to user rights was detected during the database connection process.
Exception: Cannot open database "OperationsManager" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'SCOM\scom_dw'.
Workflow name: Microsoft.SystemCenter.Apm.DataTransferRule
one minutes after that i get e 4513 event:
The callback method DeliverDataToModule failed with exception "Cannot open database "OperationsManager" requested by the login. The login failed." in the module Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Modules.Apm.ServerModules.APMComputerSynchronizer.
Workflow: Microsoft.SystemCenter.Apm.APMComputerSynchronizerRule
Instance: Operations Manager Management Group
Instance ID: {6B1D1BE8-EBB4-B425-08DC-2385C5930B04}
Management Group: SCOM
Full Exception Text:
System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException (0x80004005): Cannot open database "OperationsManager" requested by the login. The login failed.
The account 'SCOM\scom_dw' can login into OperationsManager database and this event we only get from the
Microsoft.SystemCenter.Apm.DataTransferRule and
Microsoft.SystemCenter.Apm.APMComputerSynchronizerRule. How can i resolved this problem? I don't want to have all this errors in the SCOM log.

Hi,
It is recommended to analyze SQL bottle neck.
Please also check under Operations Manager - > Security -> Schemas -> APM -> Properties ->
apm_datareader and apm_datawriter database roles
Please try grant the following permissions to those roles:
OperationsManager
apm_datareader - Execute, Select
apm_datawriter - Delete, Insert, Update
OperationsManagerDW
apm_datareader - Execute, Select
apm_datawriter - Delete, Insert, Update
Notice, before changing the database, please first backup your database.

Yan Li

Although SCOM DB can supports named instance, I usually use default instance for holding SCOM DB except there are some DB or DB applications run on default instance and you want to
    1)  complete separate systems administrator accounts for SCOM DB and other DB
    2) SCOM DB run on separate process and a separate service

  • SCOM Agent Causing Login errors with LSAsrv

    Bit of background:
We have numerous servers within a separated secure environment which are getting flagged as having failed login attempts every 4 hours. The exact same issue is presented in our normal estate.
Initially it presents itself as an error in the event log with EventID 6037 and the following information (this is what is flagging in our security system).
The program svchost.exe, with the assigned process ID 1876, could not authenticate locally by using the target name HOST/.. The target name used is not valid. A target name should refer to one of the local computer names, for example, the DNS host name.
This actually turns out to be controlling RemoteRegistry.
The following link is a work around for this, but preferably, I don't want to disable loop back checking or strict name checking.
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/05cedf19-cd02-4c26-9651-4b5d5f46d58b/event-6037-lsasrv?forum=operationsmanagergeneral
(For some reason I now can't find the actual MS KB describing the work-around)
The other alternative is to then amend a registry key for BackConnectionHostNames [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\MSV1_0] (Sorry can't find the KB where I saw the work around for this now). However, given the number of servers affected,
I'm reluctant to go down this route.
I've disabled the SCOM agent and this is definitely the culprit; so the final option is to work out which ManagementPack has been incorrectly setup and then either override it or amend it for the servers.
I've run ETL tracing on one of the servers and get the following output (I believe the two relevant lines are the [13080] [8644] lines, and the timings coincide exactly with the LSASrv.exe eventIDs.

So essentially my question is now that I've narrowed it down to it being a management pack of SCOM, whats the best process to work out which particular management pack is causing this?
Is there a way to get a list of all management packs that apply to a computer object? If I can get this, I can then work out which ones are on a 4 hour timer to narrow the list down and then systematically create overrides to work out which one it is.
    Kind Regards,
    Kevin

  • CS2 gives login error message and shuts down automatically

    Hi,
I hope someone can direct me to a quick fix for this because I just shot a wedding and need to be editing ASAP. I turned on PhotoShop CS2 and after loading it gives me the error message saying somehting to the effect of "Your username, login, organization, or serial key is missing or invalid. Photoshop must shut down". My copy is registered, and I have the loging info and serial , but I cannot do anything at all in the program. It doesn't give an option to re-enter my info. It just shuts itself down. I use it all the time and have had it on this computer since 06 so I have no idea why it's doing this now. Any help tonight would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Crystal Reports Integration Database Login error

    Hi guys,
We have installed crystal reports integration on our customer's server and client PCs. They are using SAP 2007 A PL10. We created a report and the report works perfectly on the server and on another client pc. There is however 3 clent pcs (all of which use Windows XP) on which the report does not connect to the database when you try to run it. When we try and run the report on these PC we get a window asking for the database log-in information on which the server name etc is greyed out.
The reports use a OLE DB connection.
Anyone know how this can be solved?
    Thanks

    Hi,
is client side SNC enabled on those client PCs ?

  • Solution for "Database Connector Error: 'Unexpected'" issue

**NOTE -- reposting as the previous post became corrupted.
Some customers have encountered an issue in Crystal Reports when attempting to report from Salesforce.com data.
The problem looks like this. You are able to log in successfully to your Salesforce.com instance. However, when you attempt to expand your Salesforce.com connection, you get an error that states - Database Connector Error: 'Unexpected' - and you are unable to proceed.
This problem occurs because the JVM Heap Size setting for the Salesforce.com driver is not large enough to handle the number of objects (tables) in your Salesforce.com instance. This problem is easily resolved by increasing this setting and then restarting Crystal Reports.
    The default CRConfig.xml path for CR 2008 is : C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0\java
You will find the JVM setting in <DataDriverCommon> section.
    <JVMMaxHeap>64000000</JVMMaxHeap>
    <JVMMinHeap>32000000</JVMMinHeap>
It will vary as to how much you need to increase your heap size to access your Salesforce.com instance. If you change the JVMMaxHeap to 128000000 that should be sufficient for most users but you may need to increase it further.

  • SQL database login for 'SharePoint_Config_2010' on instance 'DB server' failed. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.

we formatted Database server and restored all the databases from the backup. but the sharepoint site is giving below error when i access the home page.

SQL database login for 'SharePoint_Config_2010' on instance 'db server' failed. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.
    Login failed for user 'domain\user'.
could you help what is the issue?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to access sharepoint site with one application server.
It was due to the MOM/SCOM Agent that has a SharePoint management pack installed, the agents Windows Service runs as ‘Local System’ and thus causes this.
The workaround is to either kill the SCOM agent service, or set it to run as a dedicated service account.
In addtion, I recommend to add the logon account of the SharePoint Timer service as a user of the SharePoint_Config database. Give role membership to the account db_owner.
You also need to add the SharePoint accounts back into sql server.

  • CR XI R2 "Database Login Failed" Recycled application pool and now it works

    Hello,
I have a web application using CR XI R2 that has several reports which are pushed a dataset.  These reports have been runing fine until today when I received an error stating "Database login failed."  "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" in the report viewer control.
I recycled the application pool and the reports started working again.
    My questions are:
What could be the cause of this and how can it be avoided?
Why does recycling the application pool correct the problem?
    Regards.

    Hi Tom,
Recycling keeps problematic applications running smoothly, especially when it is not feasible to modify the application code. Recycling helps ensure that problematic applications do not cause other applications to fail, and that system resources can be recovered from unhealthy applications.
Recycling an application pool causes the WWW service to shut down all running worker processes that are serving the application pool, and then start new worker processes. Whether the WWW service starts the new worker processes before it stops the existing one depends on the DisallowOverlappingRotation property in the metabase. Recycling an application pool does not alter any state in HTTP.sys or change any configuration in the metabase.
    Note:
When an application pool is serviced by more than one worker process, the recycle operation is staggered in some scenarios. Only when a worker process is recycled on demand or when all of the worker processes hit their memory limits at the same time would they be restarted simultaneously.
For more info regarding this have a look to this [article|http://blogs.msdn.com/david.wang/archive/2006/01/26/Thoughts-on-Application-Pool-Recycling-and-Application-Availability.aspx]

  • How do I fix the Database Organizer Error when using Acrobat 9 Pro on desktop PC with Windows 8.1 and 64-bit OS?

After loading Acrobat 9 Pro on my desktop PC (Windows 8.1; 64-bit OS), opening and closing a previously saved pdf file, I constantly get a message pop-up that indicates a "database organizer" error.
    How do I fix this?
I have read multiple responses at various forums and they do not seem to apply, or have not worked for others, with regard to the details of my version of Acrobat and Windows OS.

Can this problem, specific to my version of Acrobat and Windows OS, be fixed or is the simple answer:  purchase the latest version of Acrobat Pro, because there is no fix for my version of Acrobat/Windows OS?

  • Parameters and database login with Web Services SDK

I need to know how to do the two most common report tasks through the Web Services interface to Crystal Reports Server 2008:
How do I get a list of a report's parameters and set the parameter's values?
How do I set the database login information?
I have considerable experience with writing custom web interfaces for Business Objects Enterprise with .NET, but now we're supposed to use web services instead of Enterprise services, especially when writing Windows forms apps. The official line is that writing thick client apps using Enterprise services is "possible but not supported." I can't seem to find the equivalent to the .Parameters property in Web Services.
The tutorials for Web Services aren't much help. The BIPlatform examples show how to schedule a report without parameters and without setting the database login, but this isn't much help in the real world. The ReportEngine tutorial was apparently written by someone else, and is little or no help.
This seems like such a simple question, but I have wasted an entire day and am no closer to the answer.

I think the following resources will help:

Anybody ever get any events like this before? I'm not finding much or nothing on Google or on other forums, so I thought I would run it past and see if anyone has experienced anything of a similar
nature. And yes, the farm account obviously has creator/secadmin permissions, at this point of our deployment....
I look forward to any and all feedback. Thanks and good afternoon!

I figured out the answer to this myself. For those few who might run into something akin to my error...
During the off-hours of where I work, I re-applied the farm account credentials to all dB server VM SQL services that had the account for a log-on (i.e., MSSQLSERVER, SQLSERVERAGENT, etc.) as well as all SharePoint services on our WFE/App Server VM (a two
server farm is what we host), in that order. Then I rebooted the dB server first, followed by the SharePoint server. Upon coming back, everything was working fine again. I was able to provision a site, no probelm, and it seemed to even be a little snappier
    when doing so.
One note: doing this procedure gave me a "One or more services have started or stopped unexpectedly" error in the Health Analyzer, for the SPTimerV4 service. When you get this, simply enter into the item and click on "Reanalyze Now;" this will quickly clear
the error out of the Analyzer, and all should be right with the world! :)
