SCORE!

i wrote out a score in logic n i want to e-mail it to my friend. How? Hahah much 'ppreciated!

You can export it as a pdf file (see p.808 of the User Manual, under Printing the Score).
Alternatively, if your friend uses Logic, you can just save a project (without any any assets, to keep the file-size small) and send it to him. He then can print the score or export it as pdf.

  • Questions on Track Transpose and Score Layout

    Hi all -
I'm posting these questions for my 14-yr old son who is the Logic Express user, so apologies as I might be asking the questions the wrong way. :-)
My son is writing an arrangement of the song Friday (Rebecca Black) :-) for his Middle School Marching Band. It sounds pretty cool so far, btw, and I have to admit the song is quite catchy. Haha.
Question 1: Is there a way to transpose a track independently of other tracks? As you know, some marching band instruments (flute, clarinet, etc) play natively in a different key, and he wants the appropriate key to show in the printed score. When he sets the key for a given track, every other track is changed as well, which won't work.
Question 2: When printing the score, is there a way to remove the bass clef? For some instruments (trumpet, for example) there are no notes in the bass clef and it's a waste to print the bass clef at all. He just wants the score to be more compact (and use less paper).
I hope I did his questions justice. :-) Any feedback would be very helpful! Thanks!

So I asked my son if I asked his questions correctly, and I guess I didn't. :-/ So, thanks, anyway, for reading. I'll be posting a different question shortly.

  • Questions on ordering monthly myfico score monitoring

I'm in a similar situation with mortage scores. So yesterday I signed up with Equifax only because I needed to know my mortage score. It said I had a mortage score of 688. However my lender yesterday afterwards and he said my equifax was 658. So keep in mind the monitoring score may not be the same as your lenders. I'm in the process of closing n my credit report expired on Friday and I can't close til Monday or Tuesday. I hope this helps. I do subscribe to the credit bureaus personal credit monitoring tools that way I can update on a daily basis, call them directly to fix any problems.

I think im starting to understand this whole credit score scam lol.. Had my lender pull scores back in April, I need to raise about 40 pts across the board so i definetly dont want another hardpull my understanding is if i sign up for the $25 monthly fee to monitor my score its myfico8 score but intially i will also recieve myfico scores that my mortgage lender uses, so will my mortgage scores update monthly also if i sign up for the plan? I have done some wotk oncredit since april so i may have already raised it 40pts ive gotten two pfd collections but still have 3 old medical collection from 2011 very small amoun($300 total with same ca) i have opened a CC and use daily and pay twice a month. but i want my mortgage scores monthly. so if im only getting my mortgages scores intiatally maybe i should wait until ive done a little more repair, or how much does myfico charge if i order my mortgage scores again further down the road a month or two?

  • Text editor in Score module agonizingly clunky!  Fix?

When creating scores from midi regions, the text editor drives me nuts when adding lyrics: The word/character positioning is different between text edit/create mode and what appears on the screen after editing, and different again between that and what appears in print preview mode or actual print-out. This is absolutely crazy-making when trying to line words/syllables up with their corresponding notations!
Also the cut & paste functions don't work as in any other text editor I've seen.
Also-also I can't get it to accept a new default font and size.
    Suggestions? Dr. Kevorkian's phone number?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
it looks like you have some problem with RFC. It stopped on the following line:
    * Communication error in RFC-Call
    message x628(ke) with 'RFC_ERROR' subrc msg_text.
Ask your basis guy to check it. The job on application server tried to connect to the central instance and it failed. The job run on central instance does not need to make any RFC call. Hence there is no problem in this case.

  • How to change text in PDF doc. which is a musical score

    Hello,
I'm new here, so please excuse me if I do or say something I shouldn't.
I need to change the words in a musical score because the font is too small. OCR recognition doesn"t work because there are illustrations that are different from images or text... Is there a way to get in there and make the changes I need to do?
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, but I have Adobe Reader 9 Pro. Will it still not
    work ?

  • Crashes after trying to change font in score window

    Hi,
I'm having a weird problem with Logic 7.1 in my powerbook 1.33. When trying to change a font in score edit window, Logic crashes imediatly. It happens in the "Text Styles" window as well. When you click in a font name, it's gone!
Any ideas? Running in the latest Tiger with 1Gb RAM. Also, is it a problem to keep Logic 6.4 installed on the same machine?
    Thanks everybody!

Do you use another machine for that task?
as a matter of fact i do, although my G4 will run classic. and LP7 is os x only, you need an older version of logic that runs in OS 9. logic won't run in classic mode.
to save your file, i suggest taking it to someone with os 9 and an old version of logic. in fact, if you emailed it to me i could do it. someone on this forum suggested buying an older machine with USB (or getting a USB card) just for such emergencies. i have retained my old G3 powerbook with logic 5.5. it has a PCMCIA USB card on it so i can put in my XSkey.
having to do this is stupid though. let's see, to fix this logic score display bug, we have to buy an old computer that can boot up in classic, open and resave the corrupted song in that. what a ridiculous work around.
when I open older socres created on my previous mac-printer setup, it's all messy, dynamics, articulations and text (not to mention the wrong fonts).
yet another reason we need some logic score updating action. the reason your score looks funny will be due to the fact that you probably resized your score using page setup - ie using your printer driver. the correct way to do this is by opening the instrument set display box and resizing there.
fonts not being displayed will be down to whatever fonts you have available in your system, so if you do not have the fonts available then they cannot be displayed. another reason your display will look strange, particularly in terms of where your articulations and dynamics are placed in the score may have to do with how you inserted them in the first place. in logic, you have to be very careful to insert your dynamics, articulations etc on the correct stave (it will be highlighted blue when you select the object) and in the correct midi position. check to see if they are in your messy score by selecting the object (ie dynamic articulation or whatever) and opening the event editor. is it where it should be?
another trick if the display is completely screwed in logic 7 is to cut an object at a barline. (though obviously not in the middle of a note). this forces logic to recalculate the score display.
my advice if you want to have soft copies of previous scores is to create pdf's of them. i almost never print directly from logic (unless i am in a terrible rush), i create pdf's first. that way you won't run in to the display problem. you can do this easily in os 9 if you have laserwirter 8 selected in chooser. you can then save to file and choose acrobat pdf.
let me know if you want me to rescue your logic song that won't open.

  • Score - Intel or 7.2 issues - a cry for help!!

For many years I've stuck up for Logic and, if I earned commission for every copy I've sold on behalf of Emagic and Apple I'd be a richer man.
Recently I took on a project and, forced into using a new Mac Book Pro (and therefore 7.2) I had to write some music and print out some scores. For the sessions a friend of mine had a mac running Sibelius so I thought I could export a MIDI file from 7.2 straight into Sibelius.... The MIDI file export bug (now fixed in 7.2.1 apparently) RUINED MY LIFE for a week I won't go into details (but lots of headscratching and eventually writing out parts by hand and not sleeping)
Now I have to print out some more scores - owning Logic 'Pro' should mean I don't have to buy Sibelius -I know how lovely it is and how musicians complain with parts printed out from Logic but I can put up with that - at least I can put the scores into page edit and print from there - but NO! Page edit doesn't work! Is this just Intel/7.2? Yet again I'm away from my trusty G5 and getting sick with desperation and anger - my hair is getting greyer by the second and I feel Apple don't give a hoot - can any of you help me, please?
G5 Dual 2Ghz + MBPro Dual 1.83   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   though I may dust off C-Lab's Notator and my old Atari

there are minor issues with score in 7.2.1 (for god's sake make sure that you are on that and not 7.2). but page edit not working is not one of them. i have been doing a very detailed score all morning in 7.2.1.
what you might need to do is make sure that in view you have "print view" activated. BUT you should be aware that there is a layout tool problem using "print view" in 7.2.1. that is, if you are trying to move bars down in pages beyond page 1 or on a tiled page, it won't work. turning off "print view" will allow you to make the layout adjustment and then you can switch print view back on.
so when you turn print view on what happens?

  • The wifi at my school isn't very good. And I can't send iMessages through it. It works for some apps like score center and my radar app, but doesn't work for other apps like clash of clans and iMessage. How can I get it to work on that  wifi network

The wifi at my school isn't very good. And I can't send iMessages through it. It works for some apps like score center and my radar app, but doesn't work for other apps like clash of clans and iMessage. How can I get it to work on my school wifi. I have an iPhone 4S on AT&T and iOS 7.04

In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first.

  • BT Mobile - Problem with Erroneous Credit Score an...

I have been a BT Customer for 35 years and have always paid my bills on time. I have a monthly direct debit for my landline and Broadband and have just added BT Mobile to my account. I have to say that I should have paid more attention when setting up BT Mobile online as it did flag through the process that there would be a cap of £50 spend outside the monthly plan and that roaming would be turned off. On receipt of the confirmation email on 2nd April this limit to my account was restated and was put down to my credit score. I called BT on the 2nd and was told that this was not a problem and the limits could be changed once the service had started. The service commenced on 8th April and on entering MYBT I am able to increase the monthly cap to £100 (not that i want or need to). However, the real issue I have is that I cannot activate Mobile Roaming. My account is flagged (Sorry, but you can’t use your phone abroad at the moment. You need to be a BT Mobile customer for six months first and have paid all your bills on time).
I rang BT on 10th April to find out what the problem is and was told that it was my credit score and there was nothing that could be done to change what had been done. I was told that I would need to find out for myself what adverse information was held by Equifax who BT use. After paying £14.95 to Equifax for a full report and credit score I found that my credit score is 527 which is deemed to be excellent against the UK average score of 380, and there is absolutely no adverse information whatsoever which is of no surprise to me. So what on earth are BT looking at. I have tried in vein to get somebody in BT to check my file as there must be an error. I suspect that when I applied on line the process is automated and the system has made a mistake. Rather than investigate my case I am just being told nothing can be done to let me use my phone whilst abroad. After several hours on the phone to various people over a few days I have come up against a brick wall.
Is there anyway a moderator could help me please. If I had known that I would encounter this I would not have signed up for BT Mobile and Ported my number which I would be loathe to loose.

it may well be nothing to do with your credit score, but more to do with bt internals
ie: I purchased a new second hand car last year (December), my bank who i have been with for over 10 years, have a current loan with (that ends this year) and have had previous loan with, never been overdrawn, wages paid in each month and bills paid on time said I could not have a loan and if they did offer one it would be at a very high interest rate (i am still waiting to fine out from them why), even though I got a loan through another company at a very good deal, I upgraded my 3 accounts with EE from T-Mobile in December and January which all required a new credit check went through without issues (and they offered me another line on my contract on Sunday, saying that my credit rating is perfect) . My credit rating from experian when I checked (because of my bank) was Green and in Excellent condition.
The only thing I know was 11 years ago I got in financial debt (the bank purchased the debt from another company, but I paid everything off by scrimping and scraping for a number of years) - it may be that they are still using against me, but every other company has said they find nothing wrong with my rating, but what I have heard is that they reset ratings every month, so you may be fine to get something on the 1st of the month, but if applied on the 2nd they would refuse it.

  • How can I make a fill-in-the-blank question with partial score?

I need to make an evaluation test with some questions. Some of them is a fill-in-the-blank question and it has to have partial score.
    I have:
    4 fields (text entry boxes) with: retain text, validate user input;
    also checked include in quiz, with points, add to total and report answers;
    an action that disables the 4 fields when the student is on review mode (otherwise it would be possible to change the answer after submitting the answers);
    Problems:
    I can't give feddback to the student: if i turn on success/failure captions the student will see them while answering, if i turn them off he wont know what's the right answer. I tried to use a shape to hide captions but the captions are always in front of the shape;
    When reviewing the test something happens and the second time we see the results slide it assumes that the fields in the FIB question are empty;
Notes: it will be used in Moodle, as a scorm package
    What can I do?

I have a test with some questions (multiple choice, FIB, matching, etc). I have just one button to submit all the answers, and after submiting the student can see his score and review the test to know where he failed. He can't answer again. However, he can change the answer multiple times before submiting.
"if i turn on success/failure captions the student will see them while answering" - before submitting
"if i turn them off he wont know what's the right answer" - after submitting
My results page is the default. I didn't use any variable. When i go to the results page after reviewing the test all the entry boxes are "wrong".

  • Up a score of one insert swf in captivate

I do not control many variables in captivate and wanted to know how to do the following scenario:
I realize a quiz of 10 questions via captivate I want to know the score at the end.
When the student answers correctly, before moving on to the other question it accesses a swf animation style is a penalty shootout game where he will be able scored 1 point if he succeeded. I will wish that this score is accumulated each time the learner brand appraisse the final result screen on a line other than the result of the quiz. For only the score against questions ascend to lms. What line of code do I insert in my swf file so that captivate retrieves the score via the swf animation?

That means the file path or link to the original file has been broken.   Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Captivate3 score transmission to LMS not working in Firefox

We are experiencing a troubling problem with Captivate 3 quiz scores not transmitting to the LMS when using Firefox. The exact same functionality works perfectly in IE. We have narrowed it down to a TIMING problem for how quickly data is passed to the LMS, which differs by browser, and we would like to know if anyone has a solution (other than telling users only to use IE --- not an option).
    Using Firefox:
When you finish the course quiz, the score is calculated and reported correctly within Captivate. When you exit the course immediately after that, a PARTIAL score is reported to the LMS, it is almost always incorrect, and it varies from session to session. For example, if you scored 100% (and Captivate told you that), the completion status and score will show up in the LMS as 20%, 30%, or some small percentage that is less than a passing grade and definitely less than 100%.
The critical thing we've noticed is that Captivate will take a long time (almost 3 minutes!) while it sits and processes data at the end of the quiz, on the Results screen. You can see the cursor reacting, which is a visual cue that processing is still happening. If you wait for that processing to finish and THEN check your score in the LMS, *amazingly* it is correct (100%). But if you exit the course normally, without waiting 3 minutes to return to the LMS, your score will not be correctly reported. So... why is there this lag, and why is it reporting ANY score at all if processing is still occurring, as opposed to a zero score? What is it processing that takes so long and when is it sending what to the LMS??  This gets even more interesting when you see how it works in a different browser...
    Using IE:
There is no processing lag and never a problem. All scores are reported correctly and immediately when you exit the course and go to the LMS.
We have been trying to isolate the problem and figure out why Firefox handles this differently than IE and what we can do to fix it.
I have stripped the lesson down to only 10 interactions (clickables) that are included in the Quiz score. All other objects are set to 0, and not included in the quiz. Advanced Interaction map verifies a clean slate.
    Quiz Reporting is set to:
    Enable reporting (checked)
    SCORM version 1.2
    80% = passing grade
Report Pass or Fail = Status as defined by report data
Report Data = Quiz Results Only
Report Score to LMS = Percent
Reporting Level = Report Score (I'm not reporting or tracking interactions)
    Our LMS is Pathlore.
Does anyone have any ideas what is going on with Captivate vs. Firefox and what we can do to make score reporting behave properly?
    Thanks!

    Hi Ginnycr,
I'm experiencing the same issue with Captivate 4 and it looks like this problem has been around for quite some time now. Have a look at this link:
    http://www.koma-medien.de/elearning/forum/archive/index.php/t-1140.html
at the bottom of the thread someone posts this:
"The slow issue is resolved when I force the g_intAPIType to 0 (into the
<project>.htm file), so it force Captivate to communicate as if it was into IE."
Try it out and see if it works? I'll test on my end too. Hopefully one of us will come up with a solution! (or one of the nice Captivate experts on this forum will jump in and rescue us)

  • I paid down a card to zero and my score dropped 18 points

Hi and welcome! You need to keep balances low (1-9% util) on credit cards and other revolving credit. High outstanding debt can affect a score.  Too much use of credit shows you may need more that you can handle, not good. Not enough use of credit does not demonstrate that you can use credit responsibly, also not good. It is a balance - show you can manage that balance and you will be rewarded. All revolving accounts reporting a 0 balance results in a Fico score decrease. Read up, take it all in, there are many answers in the following post, after that if you need calrification and/or still have questions, ask away! http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Understanding-FICO-Scoring/Credit-Scoring-101-START-HERE/m-p/8169

WOW!! i did not know that little trick, thats wy, my scores has been so slow in rising up, is becouse i paid in full before the statement cus off,and always reported 0 balance, also recently closed a CC account with zero balance, and my scores dropped a lots points, so from now one i willlet report some small balance Hooray!!! i have learned so much from this forum, and each time i log in i learn somenthingnew and beneficial for my financial life!! thank you all for the greatest financial advices!!! you guys are awesome!!! Yes, ensure that not only you let report 1-9%, but also important, only let ONE of your credit lines report anything at all. No matter how many credit lines you have, only let one report a balance of 1-9%. You can and should rinse and repeat for your other credit lines. One billing cycle let Credit Card A report, next cycle let credit card B report. This is unnecessary and needlessly complicates things as cards seldom all report at the same time. Just pick one card and allow it to be your "reporter". By switching cards each month you can end up with periods between the cards reporting dates where either both are reporting a balance or neither is reporting a balance. That causes your scores to bounce around. So, wait until your statement cuts - when the statement is cut is when the reporting is done to the credit agencies, then before your due date pay in FULL so as not to incur any interest. Then start on your next credit line. Remember, it's not that you never want to pay in full, it's that you do not want to pay in full BEFORE the credit card reports. If you wait past the due date then you will incur interst. Also, note, you can use as many cards as you like with as high balance as you like during the billing cycle as long as when the reporting gets done you only have one line reporting 1-9%. Reporting to the credit agencies is not done daily, just once per billing cycle. If you know when your statement cuts, and you can ask them, then you know when you need to clean things up with your balances before it cuts/reports.

  • Balance dropped, score dropped. FICO scores a mystery.

They only reason to pay for the service of credit monitoring here on myFICO is so you have some idea of where you stand when you apply for any type of credit or loan.  All the information about understanding FICO scoring is all cookie cutter garbage that you can read on any other "credit monitoring" service.  And the people that work for myFICO have no idea what they are talking about either.  They just repeat the same cookie cutter garbage I was just mentioning.  I really hope they are providing their "services" for free, because if they receive any kind of compensation, it is undeserved.  My statement balance on my American Express Everyday card went from $50 to $0 and my scores dropped by 11, 12, and 17 points (Equifax, TransUnion and Experian.)  I brought the statement balance back up to $50 the VERY next month.  Did my scores recover the lost points I just lost a month ago?  No.  And I am sure all these "credit experts" will say, "something else in your report must have changed."  That is code for, "I have no idea what happened, I am just as clueless as you why your score changed the way it did."  The precise formula for generating your FICO score is a well guarded secret.  It is the same formula used in determining battle damage to your characters in the old Sega Master System game Phantasy Star.  Sometimes when attacked, your character would lose 6 health points, other times 80 health points, and even other times 3/4ths of your total health, and so on and so on.  This is how FICO scoring works.  The formula basically goes, OOGA BOOGA, OOGA BOOGA, this is your updated score.  The only advice on this site (again which you can find on EVERY other credit monitoring service) that is worth anything is what responsible credit habits you should be practicing.  Other than that, just hope for the best.  Your score is a mystery, and it always will be.

    Beavakos wrote:
What difference does it make if there are any negatives on my report?  I lost points for doing something negative, which is bringing my balance to zero, than returning it back to its previous balance.  THAT IS ALL I DID.  I thought time heals all wounds when it comes to credit.  Any credit missteps I might have had taken should be corrected with time.  I really don't know how to make this any clearer.  Nothing in my report changed except TIME.  If I have two dollars in my bank account, and spend one dollar, then deposit one dollar, I should have now have TWO dollars AGAIN.  ?????????????????I understand what Beavakos is saying here and we all get it. Most of us love analyzing data which is why we are here after we've already cleaned up our reports and greatly increased our scores. Again, I understand how Beavakos feels - it is said time and again that UTIL has no memory and what is lost due to UTIL will be regained - well, not always true. Looking strictly at the data two things changed on Beavakos' report: 30 days were added to age and UTIL went from something above 0% to 0%, then back again and yet Beavakos' score did not fully recoup the loss. The reason for this, I think, is very clear - we do not know as much as we think we know about FICO or any other scoring algorithm. If I lost 10 points for going from 5% UTIL down to 0% UTIL but then gained those 5 points back by raising my UTIL to 5% again then scoring algorithm's are not as complicated as they are made out to be and are thus not worth paying for. The previous scenario is simple math and if indeed it was only that I should be able to retest that hypothesis time and again and get the same exact results - not happening. That said, I do not believe that scoring is a crap shoot or something only a witch doctor can understand. It is a complicated mathematical equation that has 100's, if not 1000's, of factors all having a different weight at a different time and I believe there is no one that can determine with 100% accuracy the effect any one factor, forget about multiple factors, will have on your score. Not even the people who wrote the code would know as no one person wrote the whole code. We should probably stop getting so frustrated with how our scores react to the different changes in our reports. The reason we get upset is that we think this is some simple black and white game and it's not. It is very complicated and we will never know what we want to know to the accuracy level we want to know it. What's important is we know what hurts our score to a high degree and what helps our score to a high degree. Take care of all those things we know about and your score will go up; don't take care of those things and your score will go down. After that it is just a game we play to see how we can get to 800...
