Scrap Calculation for Operation

Dear All,
How we can calculate the % Scrap at each operation level.
Which scrap types required to taken into account.
Regards,
Shailendra

Hi
Since scrap generation is depending on the production process and operator skill, in SAP we can not calculate the Scrap % for each operation.
Instead you have to calculate the % of scrap generation at each operation manually.
and you have to assign it on the operation details of Routing. So that when you create production order system will consider the scrap% at each operation.
(When you double click the operation number, you can go the operation details.. there in the General data sub-screen you can find the scrap % field.)
Hope it helps..

  • WIP or scrap calculation for parallel operation sequences not possible

    hi,
i want to calculate wip and scrap along with parallel sequence
system prompts following mesage any suggetions plz send in higher priority
    Message no. KV161
    Diagnosis
If the routing specifies a sequence of operations that are defined as a parallel sequence, this will have the following effects:
The system cannot interpret the confirmed scrap quantities in cumulative and periodic settlement when it calculates the scrap.
The system cannot calculate work in process at target costs for this order because it does not recognize the relevant operations.
    Procedure
If you want to calculate scrap or WIP, do not define parallel sequences.

    Hi Robert
Though I am seeing this msg for the 1st time - I can give you a some insight into this
It seems you are in product cost by period (PCP) scenario ... In this scenario, WIP is calculated at target cost.... The mechanism of calculating WIP is Confirmed Qty at preceeding operation - Confirmed Qty of next operation..
In your case, since you have parallel operations in your routing, system wont be able to calculate WIP... I am not sure how parallel ops are defined... You need to get in touch with your PP guy....
But, one thing for sure , with parallel ops you wont be able to calculate WIP in PCP scenario

  • Capctiy req. for operation and phase

    Hello,
In the recipe i have 2 operations 10 and 20. Operation 20 is marked as phase. and superior opertaion is 10. In the planned order system shows capcity requirement for the operation 20 (which is phase).
But in capacity evaluation t/c CM50 .it shows requirements for both the operations 10 and 20.
I think , capacity req. should only be calculated for operation 20 .
    What is correct ?
    Regards
    ShankarR

    Hi,
I have seen similar behaviour. is this correct? or CM50 does not work  with process orders?

  • Std. report for scrap calculation......

    Hi!
I want to generate a Scrap report for production order.
The requirement is system should display operaton-wise scrap and its cost. It should consider all material cost & activities cost (labour& machin)required for that operation & generate a overall scrap price.
Is there any standard report available in SAP?
OR any other way to get this report?
Please answer this, If u have any idea.
    Thanks,
    Pankaj.

I think you need to revalidate the Requirement Since.
1.Scrap is generated during a Goods is produced / Processed.
2.So in this case we have a wastage of material..only this material cost has to be calculated or accounted.
3.The operation cost and activity cost etc should be accounted for the Finished goods ,which is already done by Cost collectors -Say Production order.
May be you have a specific requirement. But the Approach towards the process (SCRAP calculation) has to be revisited.
since for a SCrap material called -x and qty called  2kg.the operation time or the acitivity time cant be calculated easily as this has scrap can be generated because of 1 hr of m.c operation or 10 hr of m.c operation..
    Lot of factors like
    >M/c Efficiency
    >Rawmaterial Quality
    >operator efficiency
lot of factors would be there
So better to revisit the requirement

  • Can we maintain the operation scrap in each operation where ?

    hi pp gurus
I have one finsh product Core
    first operation is core making
    second one is core assembly
so in each operation there is scrap say for first 5%
and for 2nd operation say 2%
I hav given the operation scrap in Routing but when I taking MRP Run it is not
    calculated the excee Material Required
    so Pls Solve the problem

    Hi
This can be handled in 2 ways.
The options used by me in similar situation were
1 Yeild the BOM to that effect.
2.Define the scrap in Material Master.
    Hope this helps.

  • Sap pp - Scrap Calculation

    Hello SAP-Guruu2019s
Can anyone tell me How Scrap Calculation is performed or maintained in PP.

    HI,
    Calculating Scrap
    Use
You can calculate and plan the scrap quantity that will result from production. These scrap quantities are then included in the planning run and in the calculation of production costs.
    Prerequisites
Which calculation the system uses depends on the settings in the material master record or in the BOM.
    Features
The scrap quantity is settled against the net requirements quantity.
Three calculation procedures are supported by the system:
    Assembly scrap
    Component scrap
    Operation scrap
    Assembly Scrap
    Use
You use this function to plan the scrap that results from the production of an assembly.
    Prerequisites
You have maintained the assembly scrap in the material master (MRP 1 view) as a percentage in the Assembly scrap field for the assembly header material.
    Features
The system automatically increases the quantity to be produced by the percentage of scrap.
However, the system always uses the estimate yield for the availability calculation for the assembly. Furthermore, the estimate yield of the assembly is always displayed in the MRP list or in the stock/requirements list.
Assembly scrap increases the order quantity of the assembly and subsequently increases the order quantity for corresponding components. The dependent requirements of the material components are therefore increased correspondingly.
    Example
    Estimate yield
    200
    Assembly scrap
    10%
This results in a scrap quantity of
    20 pieces
    and a required quantity of
    220 pieces
    Component Scrap
    Use
You use this function to plan the scrap of a component that may break during production of an assembly.
    Prerequisites
You have entered values for calculating component scrap in the material master or the BOM:
in the BOM on the Item Detail Screen: General Data (data block for quantity data). This component scrap is only relevant for the individual BOM.
in the material master (view MRP 4) in the Component scrap field. This component scrap is relevant for all BOMs.
The component scrap quantity maintained for a material component in the BOM has the higher priority.
    Features
Component scrap increases the dependent requirements quantity of the component.
If a scrap quantity was planned for a higher-level assembly, assembly scrap and component scrap are added to the component level.
    Example
    Estimate yield
    200
    Assembly scrap
    10%
    Component scrap
    10%
This results in a scrap quantity of
    42 pieces
    and a required quantity of
    242 pieces
    Operation Scrap
    Use
Before high-value components are built into an assembly, the system carries out a quality control check of the assembly, if necessary. Faulty materials that were taken into account in assembly scrap are not passed on to the next operation. They are removed.
Therefore, for a high-value component, you plan using operation scrap instead of general assembly scrap.
    Prerequisites
You have maintained the operation scrap in the BOM, on the Items Detail Screen: General Data, under quantity data. You must also set the operations scrap net indicator at the same time.
    Features
This scrap quantity refers to the quantity of one component that is to be processed in an operation meaning that the planning run is more exact and you can determine service and quantity consumption more precisely.
    I
f the component is contained in an assembly, for which an assembly scrap quantity has been maintained, the system only takes the operation scrap into account.
The net indicator instructs the system to calculate the component operation scrap without taking assembly scrap into account (net usage scrap).
You should also set the net indicator, if operation scrap has not been maintained and assembly scrap has been entered. The assembly scrap should not, however, be taken into account.
    Example
Quantity to be produced (required quantity)
    1,000 pieces
      Assembly scrap
    10 %
    Component 1
    Operation scrap
    No entry
      Net indicator
Not set => assembly scrap is taken into account
      => Scrap quantity
    100 pieces
    Component 2
    Operation scrap
    1%
      Net indicator
Set => assembly scrap is not taken into account
      => Scrap quantity
    10 pieces
Before component 2 is built into the assembly, the incorrect assemblies are rejected and the system only takes the smaller operation scrap quantity into account. Therefore, component quantity of component 1 refers to 1,100 pieces to be produced; and the component quantity of component 2 refers to 1,010 pieces to be produced.
    HOpe this helps.

  • Segregate the scrap as an operation wise during operation confirmation

    Hello PP Gurus,
One  FERT item's BOM contains 4 HALB items in which 3 are mentioned as an negative qty, ( it may be reusable scrap using in production again), and having 5 operation sequence. The problem is while confirming first operation itself the whole scarp value is generated for those 3 HALB items which are mentioned as an negative value. I want to segregate the scarp value for each and every operation or at least any of operation by qty wise or percentage wise. Is it possible to maintain it in system? and also is it possible to control by order type wise?
Is there any setting to do meet this requirement?
No manual material issue , during confirmation material are issued/generated by using back flush.
    Thanks

    Hello Mr.Devendra,
Thanks for your reply. I want to do an settings for component allocation by operation wise while during the production operation confirmation. Is there any option or SAP User exit and enhancements?
For example, a FERT 'A' having as an sub assembly 'B','C','D' and having 5 operations(10,20,30,40,50)in Routing. In these 'B' mentioned as an positive qty and the remaining 'C','D' are mentioned as an negative qty. while doing confirmation components are allocated for first operation(10) itself. i want to allocate the component for operation wise. In my case, while confirming operation 20 only part of 'B','C','D' will be allocated and the same for segregate to operation 30,40. How can we handle this situation is there any option?
    Thanks

  • Sample Size calculation for a Inspection Lot

    Dear SAP Gurus,
I have one doubt regarding Sample calculation for Inspection lot. Please give your inputs on this.
The sceanrio is like this -
    1. A Quality Plan is created with one operation (operation # 0010)
    2. To this operation 0010 in the quality plan, 2 MICs are assigned.
    3. For the 1st MIC, a 100 % inspection sampling procedure is assigned.
    4. For the 1st MIC, a sampling procedure with Percentage sample (Sampling type - 400) is assigned.
My question is - When inspection lot is created after GR from purchase order, which sampling procedure will be used to calculate the Sample size that we see in QA03 under Sample tab?

  • Automatic calculation for batch characteristic

Conversion factor is a batch characteristic which is to be calculated based on the other batch characteristics values entered by the user at the time of confirmation.
I have maintained the objectdependency in the batch class (023). The dependency type maintained is "Procedure".  The batch class is assigned to material master. The formula is as follows
    $self.conversionfactor=((($self.actthickness-0.067)*$self.density)
    ($self.paintgsm$self.metalgsm))*$self.width/1000
The formula is appearing in 2 lines in the dependency editor. There is no syntax error. As well as the dependency status is also "released".
But at the time of confirmation, if the values of the other characteristics are entered, no calculation for the characteristic conversion factor is done by the system.
Can anybody please guide on this???

  • Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.

    To the Report Design Team,
It has been suggested that I post this issue here based on another thread I started: Re: Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.
The template contains a single 24 bit PNG image as a background in the Page Header section, plus 9 image records from a SQL Server image field over 3 pages (3 images per page).  The images are all JPG at 3000x2000 (digital camera).
To summarize, we are experiencing three problems.
    1. CR2008SP2 Designer issues a Memory Full error when Exporting to PDF.
    2. Using a 3rd party PDF Printer (Bullzip PDF) and CR2008SP2 Designer generates a PDF, however, the CR2008SP2 API throws a "Memory full" exception suggesting Designer and API are different (see stack trace in linked message above).
    3. With only 3 images on 1 page, CR2008 Designer Export to PDF takes 110 seconds to generate a 24MB PDF while our third party PDF Printer generates the same report in 17 seconds and 580KB.
Edited by: Don Williams on Sep 30, 2009 6:43 AM

The .rpt file size is 14MB with the Data Save option enabled, 12MB without Data Save.  Presumably the 12MB file size is because of the 24bit PNG we have as our background.
The Designer executes the report in less than a second and we can scroll through all pages and see the image fields perfectly.
When we Export to PDF, the Designer takes a long time, eventually gets to the 77%, the 7th record and returns "Export report failed" followed by "Memory full".  If we export only page 1 of the 3 pages, it also returns a Memory full error.  However, when the same report is run with only 1 page, that page exports to PDF but with a ridiculously large size and export time.
The machine has 2GB of physical memory with an 8GB pagefile with Windows 2003 (latest everything).  The process runs up to about 1GB before reporting the memory full error.
We've also tried a variety of other suggestions posted in the other thread with no success.
We're happy to provide the RPT file to the Report Team to diagnose the problem.  Ultimately, we need to be able to produce a 15 page report with approximately 45 images.
Our preferred scenario is fixing problem 2.  The CR Designer seems quite capable of rendering our report and printing it to our third party PDF printer in a timely manner with small size.  However, the API reports memory full.
The API resides in a dedicated reporting web service with NO other code except for loading the report, setting parameters and printing.  When executing, it uses up to about 1.1GB before reporting the error.
Are there any other suggestions for fixing what we have?  Are there known problems with large images in reports?  Do we need to lodge a formal support request?
    Regards,  Grant.

  • Daily production plan for operations

Hi, One Production order generally runs for more than 1 month and consist of more than 100 operations and order qty will be one. in this case we want to prepare daily prod plan for operations not for qty. say on 1.6.09 we will do cutting operation, 2.06.09 willdo painting etc in monthly prod paln or weekly prod plan? pls guide how to map this?

    Dear,
In production order you will get the details of operation plan and scheduling.
So in OPK8 do the setting for print of LG02     Op. control ticket, LG03     Job Ticket, LV01Time ticket,
Take a print through CO04N - Print and sent it on shop floor also.
You use the report like MCPW - Lead times or MCPK.
    Hope clear to you.

  • What are the values for operation code in order import open interface

    Hi,
I am trying to create the sales order by populating the interface table and run the request import order i.e. open interace without standard OE APIs.
I am also populating the actions interface table i.e. OE_ACTIONS_IFACE_ALL along with header, line, & price adjustment tables to hold the order. The sales order creates successfully but it fails at holding action due to invalid operation code. It has been tried with ‘CREATE’, ‘UPDATE, ‘INSERT’ for operation code in action interface table but no use.
So my concern is what value needs to pass for operation code in action interface table.
    Any help would appreciate.
    Thanks,

If you are planning to apply holds, For holds the action is OE_Globals.G_APPLY_HOLD or APPLY_HOLD.

  • BEx report -two different calculations for a result for one key figure how?

    All,
Maybe someone could help me with the following, we have a requirement to setup for one key figure two calculations for result rows. One result (average) for one level, and on a higher level -grand total have a (sum), as for our business it makes sense to do it this way. We have setup average for this KF, we get correct results (see below values 7,5 & 6,5) however for the grand total (across multiple products) so for one level up we need to have a different calculation. How could we achieve this?
    Here is an example:
    location     product          inventory
    AAAA     11111          5
    AAAA     11111          5
    AAAA     11111          10
    AAAA     11111          10
    AAAA     Result          7,5      ---> average
    AAAA     22222          5
    AAAA     22222          6
    AAAA     22222          7
    AAAA     22222          8
    AAAA     Result          6,5       -
    > average
AAAA     Result (across products)          14      ---> here I want to have a sum of averages

This could be achieve only IF you upload a hierarchy for product inventory with different levels, wherein each level show subtotals and finally grand total will be shown at the end of the results.
