Scrap costs in Standard Costs without adding scrap factor in BOM

Running one part number, multiple operations in factory.
Need to account for Standard Cost including Scrap, but do not want to inflate BOM using a scrap factor.  How can we maintain accurate backflush of matls and capture scrap costs for use in Stds?

If you do not want to consider the scrap qty. in operations but want to consider it only for costing purpose, then create a costing BOM i.e. usage 6. In this BOM you can maintain the scrap. Also ensure the costing variant which you're using has a priority of costing bom over say production bom or universal bom.
Discuss this with your costing person as well.

  • Using a CC with a Balance Transfer without added interest cost

I have several cards on 0% or low APR BT Offers, and those CC have also made me offers for cash back if I use the card for purchases. How can you do this, if the card is already on a BT, without destroying the low APR on the BT? Easy.  An important thing to understand about your credit card statement is that your statement balance can have multiple APR on several different portions of the balance. In this Bank of America example, I’ve got two separate 0% APR with different expiration dates, balance transfers left over from earlier at the purchase APR, and purchases at the standard purchase APR. The amounts shown are not the ending balance, but rather the average balance during the credit card statement period. (even this average balance isn’t exactly what the interest is charged on, because CC interest is charged on a daily percentage, resulting in daily compounding)Before Congress passed the CARD Act, most CC agreements would apply ALL payments to the lowest APR first, meaning in the above example the ~$8k on the two 0% APR would be paid first, all $8k, before even beginning to pay on the ~$500 at the purchase APR. This is a favorable purchase APR, but imagine if the purchase APR was at 19%? To make matters worse, the interest on the purchase APR items would usually add to the Purchase balance, and continue to compound the interest cost on the purchases until all the lower APR items were paid off however many months that took. Needless to say, in the old days it was not a good idea to use your credit card for regular purchases if you had a BT on the card.  That all changed with the CARD Act a few years ago. Since the credit reforms of the CARD Act, credit card issuers are allowed to apply the minimum payment to the lowest APR items first. However, after the minimum payment, they must apply payments to the highest APR items. The minimum payment depends on statement balance, but is often only 1% to 2% of that statement balance. In the example above, the statement balance of almost $8k required a minimum payment of only $82. This would be applied to the approximately $8k 0% APR balance first. Any additional payments above the $82 for the month would be applied to the highest APR items next. Actual interest charges usually fall into the higher APR buckets.  On the BofA cards, I get little offers for 10% cash back from certain national merchants. HairMasters, Starbucks, Buffalo Wild Wings, Papa Murphy’s, and several others are regularly available to add the offer to the card, use it at the merchant for one purchase, and get 10% cash back. With my Citi Diamond Preferred, I also had a $600 BT offer on the $1k CL, then got a 5% back on $500 of purchases in gas, groceries, restaurants and department stores. My Discover card had several thousand on a 0% BT, then they sent me a “spend $1,000, get $100 back” offer. My US Bank Cash+ has a low APR BT offer, and 5% categories for Department stores. How do you take advantage of the spend offers and not get interest charges? You usually have to accept / sign up for the spend offer, to add it to the card, so do that first. When you use the card for any of the offers, depending on the spend involved in the offer, just keep track of those as they post to your CC account online during the month. You have to wait until the charge amount actually posts to your credit card account, so it is no longer Pending. After it posts, it will be in the “Purchases” bucket of the daily interest charge calculations. Said differently, you cannot prepay these charges, you have to wait for the amounts to show up as Posted on your account online. It only takes a few days after you did the purchase, and you don’t have to wait until the statement cuts to see the amounts, but they do have to post to your account. After a few charges have posted, use the Make a Payment button on your credit card account to arrange an electronic payment from your checking account, to post the same day or in a few days. If you know when charges will hit, you can also schedule such a payment for a few days after, to allow time for the charges to post. Repeat this throughout the month if the spend offer is a long term thing. The amount of the payment you make must cover the Minimum Payment first. I’ll often just send over the minimum payment right after the statement prints, just to get it out of the way. I owe the amount, the BT needs to be paid off, and the Minimum Payment is a small amount anyway. I’ve also got Autopayments set up for all these accounts, which is intended to pay the BT offer over a schedule. I don’t use the Autopayment amount in my calculations of paying the purchase amount, although they would be applied to the purchase amounts. By paying the purchase soon after it posts, and after the minimum payment has been made, the interest rate clock never really gets started on the purchase amount. You may see a minimum interest charge of $0.50 if the card charges that, but often I don’t even get that amount if the payment is soon enough after the charge was posted. Chase Slate and Freedom cards are actually even easier. You can use the Blueprint Full Pay payment selector features to tell Slate the types of charges you want to include as pay in full, and they will add those new charges to your Blueprint payment to pay them above the minimum payment that is going toward the BT payment, and not accrue any additional Purchase interest. The Finish It allows you to set an additional amount you want to pay toward the BT (or purchase charges) principal over the minimum payment, to make the payments faster. So, the point of this is, if you have a BT offer on a card, you don’t have to effectively SD the card, it can be used for purchases to take advantage of special offers, or even for regular charges, without added interest cost.

But since I don't have any interest on balance transfers and purchases on my discover card right now I usually just make whatever I was making (before the charge) and then I add the new charges in there. If you're 0% on BT's and purchases then this thread really isn't relevant.  This is for those that have 0% on BT and >0% on purchases. kdm31091 wrote:
Basically, all this is saying, unless I am missing something, is that if you make purchases and pay them off before statement (i.e. don't carry the extra balance on top of the BT amount) you won't pay interest, which is the case with any CC, whether on a BT or not. I don't see how the rewards offers make any difference here. You're just paying charges as you go to avoid interest accruing. It is basically the same whether there's a 0% offer or not.  The OP started this thread to clarify for those that do have a 0% BT offer and still want to take advantage of rewards on the same card without impacting rewards by acrruing interest on new purchases.  If the card has no rewards as an incentive for new purchases then it's easy enough just to SD the card until the 0% offer balance is paid off. my-own-fico wrote:
I'm not sure whether to agree, because if you pay the minimum following the statement date and then charge something that you soon pay off, we are talking about two different billing cycles. The billing cycles really don't matter aside from generating a new minimum payment as each cycle closes out.  Regardless of cycle the minimum has to be covered first and then new purchases within the given cycle need to be paid off as quickly as possible. The minimum applies to the prior cycle. Additional payment(s) need to be made for purchases in the current cycle.

  • WLDF in WebLogic 12.1.1 - Is it part of Standard Edition (without additional cost)?

I know Mission Control is not allowed in production for WebLogic Standard Edition without additional licensing costs.  How about WLDF?
I haven't been able to find any documentation to state one way or the other and I don't want to assume since it took me quite a while to understand the JRMC licensing back in WL10 and WL11 versions.
    Thanks,

According to this (the way I read it) WLDF belongs to the WebLogic Management Framework, which is part of the standard edition (so from this you would assume no additional costs are needed when using WLDF).

Yeah, first my thought was also that... that's why I've gone to Apple and they already switched the phone twice!!!
Last time was yesterday... I posted this here because I came from Apple and with a new iPhone 5, although I didn't restore anything from iCloud, I hadn't even logged in to iCloud / AppStore, and without any event on the lockscreen my iPhone 5 was already "locked" on the unlock screen... after a mere 45m after I used it without a single App!! Just a couple of SMS / 1 or 2 calls... I'm going to Apple again on monday, but tried to post here to see if this has happened before to anyone with 3 new iPhones!!!

  • Product costing without production planning module

Is there any way to work with product costing module without production planning for service sector.

    Hello
You may use the product costing without quantity structure. This is useful if you do not have PP module but have materials and you need to calculate the standard cost of the materials.
In case you do not have materials and only have kinds of services then these can be created as activities for a cost center like a FICO consulting activity for SAP cost center. You may then calculate a price per hour of the activity and may charge it to the service order/ internal order.

  • Product Costing - Standard Cost Component Split on Multi Level BOM's

    Hi,
We are the process of introducing SAP for all back office and manufacturing activities.
I am currently trying to verify that the product cost calculation for Multi-Level BOMs in our Legacy system matches the cost roll up or cost estimate in SAP at not only a Total Cost Level but the cost component split must be accurate also. So far, all the costs roll up correctly at a total cost level but I have noticed one issue:
When I run a cost estimate for a single level BOM the cost estimate will split the components accurately into Material, Labor, Fixed Overhead and Variable overhead, However, when this component is then used in the next level of manufacturing all the Labor, Fixed Overhead and Variable Overhead Cost is grouped under Material.
Q1.) Is there a SAP setting or config change that will keep the previous Labor, Fixed OH and Variable OH cost in these categories as the material is rolled up to finished product level?
Q2.) Is there a standard report / view where I can see the Finished Goods Standard Cost split by each of there rolled up Components? This would need to split the Total Material, Total Labor, Total Fixed OH and Total VO required to make the Finished Product.
Q3.) Is there a standard report / view where I can see the added value (Absorption) by component split (Labor, Fixed OH, Variable OH) for every Manufactured Part?
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Brian

  • Capturing external maint. cost without PR / PO

    Dear All,
I have a scenario, where i need to get a lot of low value maintenance work done from different nearby shops and workshops.
For that i don't want to use the process of making a Vendor-PR-PO-Service entry sheet against PM03 key in the order; to get the actual cost on my maintenance order.
Is there any process where i can plan this external service cost without creating a new vendor every time ;without PR/PO so as to get the actual cost in the order.
    Regards
    Praveen Dhankar

    Hi
Just Try This if it works
Try to create Activity type with Unit "Indian Rupees" (Check with ur CO Consultant) & assign it to External Work center.
Input this Work Center in Maintenance Order.
Confirm the Maintenance Order - Activity type by entering the Amount of Rupees to be given to Vendor .
Based on Confirmation you can can pay the Vendor who had worked for you.
If you want to pay him on Work Hours , Create activity type with Unit Hrs.
Check in SAP help lib for External processing of work center.

  • Component scrap factors in Planning

I am using component scrap factors for planning example being lets say finished material = M1 and component is C1. For every 1 M1 I need 1C1 but with a +ve yield of 10% which means for planning 100 M1 I need only 90 C1. I do not want to put in the BOM that 1 M1 REQUIRES 0.9 C1. I want to use some kind of component scrap to do the yielding. I am not able to use a -ve component scrap factor in SAP.
Can anybody tell me what the best solution to this problem would be?
    thanks

    Dear,
You are talking about the RM and not Finished product. There is nothing called yield for RM.
Yield in the case of FP is you suppose to produce 100 TO, and you are expecting a scrap of 10%, hence your actual yield is 90. If you produce more than that it is + Ve yield, if you produce less that it is -ve yield.
With resocet to RM, you planned to consume 100 TO, but your expecting a scrap of 10%, hence you require to plan 110. In case if you comsume 90, you can get the report in CCOIS, requirement qty and withdrawl qty. This will reflect in costing as less costed to produce 100 TO of FP
I hope you are clear,,please come back.

  • Scrap factors and Production order

    Hi all
I am using scrap factors in the Material Master which is used as a component in the production order. When I create a production order the component requirement qty is inflated by the scrap factor. Then I do a CO15 and put in the actual qty of component used. Is there a standard report PP or CO where it shows the planned required qty( as in BOM with no scrap), planned required qty ( with scrap) and the actual qty?
    thanks a lot

    Hi,
Not sure if you can get all 3 in a std report. But in COOIS, when you run the report with List option as component you can get the requirement qty & withdrawn qty.
To my knowledge you would have to go for a Z report.
    Regards,
    Vivek

  • Is there a way to open an apple store account without adding card info?

I want to have an apple store account for 2 reasons only.
    1. To download the art covers for my music
    2. So iTunes stops asking me every 30 seconds 'do I want an iTunes account'
At the end of registering I realised that apple are asking for my card details. I can't seem to bypass this. Is there a way to create an account without adding my card details?
If not and I have to add my card details in. Can i just check - I only pay something if i download a piece of music, movie, game etc. and there are no other charges?
    thanks jason

    Hi,
You have to put a credit card. It is mandatory to verify in which country you're living and for Apple to validate in which Store your can buy music if you want to do so.
But if you never buy music, your credit card won't be charge at all. Don't worry about this.
You'll also be able to download the free song of the week, which is completly free each week. And for your cover art, it will not be a charge at all too.
    Hope this help.
