Scrapped Equipment

Hi Experts,
I have clarification regarding scrapped equipment.Suppose i have scrapped an equipment and put the user status SCRAPPED after dismantalling from the functional location.I want to know is this is enough or should I put the deletion flag etc.Please give your advice.

As you are using the User Status SCrapped which will only informative that this Equipment is Scrapped if You set the DLFL You will get The Message "The business transaction cannot be carried out." It will stop you to carry out your transction such oredr and notification and etc....So my point of view if you are scrapping the equipment and same equipment will not be come for any mainatnance activity Eventhough you are setting the User status as scrapped also set that equipment DLFL.

I have read many posts here since purchasing my board and processor and it has been extremely helpful. Thanks.
I also purchased a new case when I figured out my old case could not handle the cooling requirements. I happen to buy a Spiderman case, not because it looks nice but it had a side duct like the "Thermally Advantaged" case. I think I have things working pretty well but would like some advice.
First my idle temp CPU is ~43c and System is ~33c read from Speedfan and CoreCenter. They are very close including the voltage readings so what ever problem there was in earlier versions of CoreCentre seem to be fixed. My BIOS however shows lots of jumping back and forth on CPU temp from ~40c to ~50c constantly. I believe SpeedFan is smoothing out the jumps but not sure.
On my case you can see my setup in my SIG but one thing is that the side fan is an exhaust not an intake. After looking at the Intel suggestions it seems they are reccomending the side be an unforced aire intake although I would take forced might be better but testing would determine if there is a wind shadow or some other problem.
So my questions are:
1. Which temp should I be looking at SpeedFan or BIOS
2. With the temp I am seeing Idle should I reverse my fan and have it blow on the CPU and memory instead of exhaust.
I do not have good readings for CPU under load from SpeedFan but I notice it at around ~52c after some video work. I just need to track it better.
Any advice would be welcome.

I have been busy tweaking and thinking and I have managed to make some improvements in the CPU temp.
First I reseated my heat sink and used Artic Silver 5 instead of Artic Alumnia this made no difference at all, except my wallet is lighter. I am hoping their claims are true and I will get a 2c - 5c improvement after 200 hours. I have 193 hours to go. All kidding aside it looks like a great product but their Alumnia product is pretty darn good as well.
Second rearanged my drives so they get the full benefit of the new front intake fan. This helped all the drives by a 1c - 2c and the CPU went down a little (maybe 1c ).
Lastly I noticed that the side fan I had was not working very well. Turns out it is a piece of junk with no specs for CFM on it. I am guessing it was running ~20CFM at about 0.14A. I dug around in my fan bag (I have about 10 assorted models from scrapped equipment) and found an 80mm that is spec'd at ~40 CFM 0.29A. I reversed it so it is blowing on the processor.
Next fired up my rendering project that I have been testing with and here are the results:
CPU = 56c - 58c average after 2 hours of heavy rendering. Spikes up and down but pretty stable. This is an ~8c improvement!!
System = 36c this is an 3c increase.
Drives are all the same but maybe ~2c higher.
So what I see is great improvement on the CPU but the airflow from the side is disrupting the front to back. Not sure if I need to tweak the front to back more or if ~36c is OK. The noise is terrible because I used an old Server fan from back before we cared about dB levels. I am going to look for a speed control to lower the fan speed when I am editing and not rendering. When I render I have to leave the computer alone for a couple of hours any way.
Comments or more suggestions welcome.

Report of scrapped material and related equipment

My understanding is you are in need of serial /Equipment number...
In MB51. You give the movement type 551 for scrapping and If you have already maintained serial/equip number for the material , You can definitely see that number in the material document/.
In MB51 output double click the document number ...In the detail tab you can see the serial number next to the assign tab..

second option is If you maintain a storage location for scrap, after posting the scrap,You can check MMBe. The material with some qty will be in the particular storage location. You Right click on the QTY and see the Equip/serial num. Thus ypou can get your expected thing..

How to handle equipment records relating to scrapped materials

When a specific material/serial number combination is scrapped off, at present we are marking the associated equipment records with inactive and deleted. This geta bit confusing with other records that may get marked as inactive for other reasons. How does anyone else handle it? At pressent we dont have a scrapped status.
Should storemen have tha ability to mark the records as deleted or should our master data team do that.
Advice appreciated

Inventory management for Equipment

Hello Experts,
One of our client is currently using SAP-ERP system. They are having sensitive equipment for their safety purpose to all the gate securities. Now they are using Third party tool for their application. The current system is not reliable for tracking the material flow, equipment tracking, and online inspection for the equipment. Currently they are having 40posts (Gates).Different type of equipment is located in all the posts based on its range.
Equipment issue, Retrieve equipment,conumption posting,scrap accounting also maintain in MM
So they want to automate this process in SAP system which includes all the Employee details (Security),Medical Fitnessu2026u2026u2026for ease tracking of the equipment ,status of the equipment, employee equipment training, online-inspection and security shift change details.
How to map this scenario in MM?Awaiting for your valuable reply.

Deletion Flag to Equipment

Hi Experts,
I have replaced an equipment with new one and scrapped the old one.Can you tell me what system status i maintain
should i put in available status with user status scrapped or put the deletion flag and user status scrapped.
Also if i put deletion flag to equipment is the same will affect somewhere like settlement of order etc.

AR,
You may want to do both. Set the User status to "SCRAP" and also set the "Deletion flag" On the equipment master for information / historical purpose. There shouldn't be any effect on the settlement process of the order as such.
Whenever you use the same piece of equipment again on the order a warning/ error message may come up indicating to check the status of the the object.

COMPONENT and equipment scenario

In this scenario I am just talking about I have one COMPONENT and that attached with
All three equipment (this scenario).
Now my question is when in equipment number 10020154, we want to reassemble and repair for 4 or 5 days and then in that same equipment add new one component, but
After repair of that component we kept that component in the store and we know this is old one and we new one is assemble.
In our case (Since the material removed cannot be used further as it has malfunctioned can be declared as scrap in case of non-repairable condition)
But in our scenario its not here when the case is opposite as I said again use but again use of it that will have costing issue.
So Plz tell me how can we go through.z

but,i don't understand that 2nd component how can we serializes.

so that's why i am confused how can solve. (in mechanical equipment Electric

In first case Pump or motor is Totally over then we will create a scrap
material code and sale it to the purchaser.
In 2nd case our pump Or motor 200213/200256 for repair and we know our
plant is in running and we assembled new pump Or motor 200213/200256.
now our pump Or motor 200213/200256 are repaired now that repair one
go to store now the big question is this when change or replace our code
is same how can we change or replace (in first case so simple just create a
scrap, In 2nd step i am confused).
now i think all guru's will clear very efficently.

Equipment User Status Update

Dear Gurus,
I want to update equipment user status with PM Order Status.
for example, if i close the PM01 - Maintenance Order , equipment user status will be updated "001-Fixed".
how can i update the user status like above example? I have found some user exit (STATTEXT) but it is not working in PM order. Is there any user - exit for this case?

you are right, i guess my example is not clear for this case. I wrote this basic example for easy understanding.
anyway, i wanna write a scenario, we have 4 user status for equipments. we wanna run with PM order status and good movements. equipments are on our customers so that we can refurbish and fix on the field or our refurbishment center.
1. if equipment is come from customer for refurbishment , equipment status will be updated "001-waiting for refurbishment" with good issue.
2. if equipment is refurbished, (refurbishment)order will be completed so equipment status will be updated " 002- refurbished"
3.if equipment is not refurbished, (scrap) order will be opened for removing equipment's spare so equipment status will be updated " 003- scrap"
4.if equipment's spare is removed, (scrap) order will be closed and equipment status will be updated " 004 - write off"
I hope it will be cleared.
there is a bapi for updating equipment user status"BAPI_EQUI_GETSTATUS" but i don't want bapi because of locking the equipment. which can i use user-exit or badi for this case?

Delete equipment from stock

Hi All,
How can we delete an equipment from the stock?
I have a requirement where in ,if the equipment is tested to be faulty, it has to be scrapped and deleted from the stock.
How can I delete the equipment frm the stock..?
Is MIGO T code to be used, if so , how.. Please give me the functional flow of it as well as steps how to implement it technically.

I'm not sure your explanation is correct.
I mean test equipment is used in QM and I think it is not the test equipment that should be deleted from stock if there's a test failure...

(Test eqipment management is to manage these equipments in SAP (maintenance, calibration, etc))
I mean you use the test equipment to test goods (e.g. goods that are produced) and if the goods doesn't pass the quality test (that is carried out by the test equipment physically) they have to be scrapped.
In this case I think no development (I think of the BAPI) is necessary because goods in QM are scraaped via the usage decision (QA32).
Please examine how usage decision is carried out.

However, if your requirement is to scrap the test equipment if the test fails it really needs development because this requirement is very strange I think. I do not know test equipments, maybe someone can help you in this case.

for equipment scrapping kindly dismantle the equipment and place in the warehouse (IE4N) and make inactive, then you can scrap it with the use of MM guy.

Need Function module to deactivate equipment in IE02

I have a requirement where i have to deactivate an equipment when user scraps(movement type 551) material in MIGO.
Please let me know if there is any function module to deactivate equipment.
manually we can do that by clicking menubar Equipment -> Functions -> Active <-> Inactive -> Deactivate in IE02.

Deleting equipment serial number in mmbe

Dear Friends,
I am new to SAP,
In mmbe while drill down to the equipment serial no ,it is showing unwanted equipment serial numbers.
how can i delete the unwanted eqipment numbers. can i use IQ02 or any other way to do?

You need to find equipment records for serial numbers and remove from inventory. E.g. Scrape it or do inventory adjustment.
1. in MMBE --> Right click on quantity --> Equipment serial number
2. Keep list of all serial number with material number
3. Open another session to scrape material with serial numbers (MIGO) or perform inventory adjustment (MI10)

1. Rotating Assembly
2. Pump Housing
3. Mechanical Seal....etc
B. Many companies keep complete rotating assemblies
   which includes the following readily available to handle breakdowns:-
1. Shaft
2. Shaft Sleeve
3. Bearings
4. Impeller
5. Coupling
6. Keys (installed on key-ways)
C. So we create Rotating Assembly as a material,pump housing and
mechanical seal as separate materials.
Now parts under Rotating Assembly are also made as materials.
D. We create Material BOM, which is made for rotating assembly and
which will in turn have the above mentioned materials with required
quantities.
Now we create Equipment BOM, which is made for the pump and which
in turn with have the 3 materials.

and post. That Feed bittern pump-P1-A has only one component now from this process i can't understand because when i create
a order and did same and pump cost has 10000 appear but when i add / reserve new component the cost tab is going to ZERO.
nil amount will appear, that repairable pump will repair and goes to store after repair is their any cost difference or we have to change my configration

Damage or non useable spares of equipment bring back into stores

Dear All,
I have created one b/d maintenance order for pump equipment. In this one bearing is damaged which is not useable. For this we will issue new bearing for order, so this spares cost will be booked on order.
But how I can bring damage bearing in stores which will be further going to be as scarp.
Can is it possible to bring back damage spares in stores with reference of b/d maintenance order which is already created. For this what will be cost effect on order.
Kindly give me the step by step procedure for this scenario.

you have define valutaion types for the material in Materails managemnt first
with same material code how you will identify the l,material whci is scrap or newly procured
Once valutaion exist for the material
Return the material to warehouse against same order number by movement type 262 then it will be automatically received in stock as valution type damaged
at mb11 by 262 system will ask you the material code
