Screen background appearance

iMac startup (power on) is normal with a blue background screen. Upon installation of the following software, on line, (Digital Camera Raw Compatib... 2.2, Remote Desktop Client update, 3.2.2, and Mac OS X update, 10.5.5) the background screen appearance and color randomly changed from the normal blue colors. On start up, randomly, when just before the appearance of the icons and dock, the screen background color and pattern changed to a multicolor "weave type" appearance. Not all the icons would appear and the ones that did appear had black block base to the icons. On restart, the screen reappeared normal with a blue background and all icons on board. Again, on shut down, the weave pattern would randomly appeared.
The computer is on a DSL line.

I've tried to do this fix as well and it will solve some problems, but not all of them. We've experienced several background issues (particularly screen bleed, but this we fix by changing the compression settings).
If the issue is the one I detailed in the original post, the only way I've found to fix it is to graphically edit the background with the image (100%) shown in Captivate.
If the issue is that no matter what graphic edit you do to the background image, the image on publish refuses to change. We've found you can fix it in one of two ways:
Pasting an image of the background over the actual background.
Pasting all the slides in a new Captivate project.
I received a phone call from Sumit Tokas <[email protected]> back in February and mentioned this issue to him. He asked me to email him the problem and said he would look into it. I did, and have yet to hear back. Here's hoping that other people having the same issue will get a more satisfying response.

  • Second monitor "hide" the programs behind the screen background.

    Hi!
Updated my system a couple of days ago. When I rebooted, my second screen comes up as normal, except I can't get anything to show on that screen.
The primary screen works as normal. The second screen shows the background and conky, but when I try to open anything on the screen, it opens, kind of behind the background. I can use the program, and drag it to the first screen. Then I see it. It's almost like the screen background covers it.
Have a nvidia GPU and using Awesome as VM.
Anyone have an idea what the problem might be?
    My rc.lua, 10-monitor.conf and pacman.log

  • How do we change the Yosemite lock-screen background?

How do we change the Yosemite lock-screen background?
Would like it to match our desktop.
At present, lock-screen appears to be a blurred version of one of the standard Yosemite desktops.

It typically uses your Screen Saver definition in System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen Saver tab.
    Or I'm misunderstanding the question...

  • Live type files look grainy and do not fill the background when used for green screen backgrounds.

live type files look grainy and do not fill the background when used for green screen backgrounds. Ideas?

What I want to do is somehow make my entire iMovie project smaller by compressing it somehow but without losing any footage or audio or quality. At the moment the project is a 56GB iMovie project lasting approx 1hr. I have a mixture of miniDV footage, titles created in Live Type (they are better quality than anything available in iMovie) and audio.
The miniDV footage is automatically compressed when it transfers from my camcorder to my Mac, no worries there.
The LiveType titles contain a motion background (imported into LT) and then text which appears and disappears at set points. The titles vary in length but are about 5 seconds each.
The file size for the LT titles is approx 180MB per clip, the movie requires about 20 or so of these clips, making a very large file size overall.
Is there a way that I can save something in LT so that the file size is smaller yet still keep the quality and use the clip in my iMovie ?

  • White background appears "gray" after export

Hello, I have created a short video with a white background (title screen) and no matter what compression settings I use to export the file to Quicktime, I always have the same problem -- the white background appears gray in the final video (with the exception of the uncompressed YUV422 setting).
Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks!

Do you think this has anything to do with the default color corrections? Can I disable them altogether?

  • Pink Screen vice Normal Black Screen Background

95% of the time I select Apple TV on my system, the background screen is pink/purple vice the normal black screen. When I unplug the Apple TV and re-plug it in, the screen background returns to black. If I switch off of it to cable, for instance, or BlueRay, then return to Apple TV, I get the pink/purple background again. I am connected via an HDMI cable. Anyone else have this problem and find a solution?

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
You describe a typical HDMI issue between your tv and the tv itself. HDMI is fairly immature at this stage and restarting either your tv or your tv might be the best solution for now. Such behaviour may also indicate a hardware failure though, I would monitor the situation and if it appears that the problem occurs other than a result of switching HDMI sources it might be worth considering returning the unit for exchange.
One final thought, check your HDMI connection is set to automatic, playing certain video content may also produce such an effect if the colour space of the content does not match your output selections.

  • IOS 7.1.1Home screen background blurry

I just updated to 7.1.1 on my iPad2 and when I try to use my pictures for the home screen background it just looks like fuzzy colors. I tried changing my Accessibility options to “Reduce Motion- On” but it did not work. When I preview my picture it fits the background perfectly.
Also, is there a way to use a photo for the lock screen without it getting blown up and stretched out? I’ve had to edit my photos through trial and error so they fit and don’t look ridiculously stretched.
When I downloaded 7.1.1 I needed to return my iPad2 to factory settings and re-install all my apps.

The stretched wallpapers I believe is a result of the photos being low resolution. an iPad 2 has a screen resolution of 1024x768, so when searching for pictures as a wallpaper, try to make sure the pictures are AT LEAST that size. Now for the blurred wallpapers, are you using your photos, or apples default wallpapers located within settings? If you select "Set Both" for lock screen and home screen, does this "blurriness" persist on both the home screen and lock screens? Is the blurriness more of looking distorted, or is it blurred like when you have a notification on the lock screen? Try resetting the device by holding the lock and home buttons until the apple logo appears, I know that answer is thrown at like every problem on these forums seemingly, but it really does fix a lot of random problems (temporarily at least).

Try to backup and restore you device in itunes...restoring the device is like removing the iOS software off the device and re-add in a newer software, after you have restore you device, MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR DEVICE LIKE A NEW DEVICE, DONT NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP!!... give the device a chance to use the newer software and see if the issue still persisting, if the issue still on going then its would be a hardware issue.
Call Apple Care and see if your device is still under warranty to get it replace

  • How can i get rid of a blue screen background on my MacBook Pro

how can i get rid of a blue screen background on my MacBook Pro

    Hi Heidi,
Do tou mean it only boors to a blue screnn???
    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

  • My mac book pro login screen background wont show and only shows a light white/blue as the background how do i fix it ?

my mac book pro mountion lion system  login screen background wont show and only shows a light white/blue as the background how can i fix it ? i tried everything from loginox to onyx and it still wont solve the problem. instead of the default dark grey startup screen  the background is white with a blue tint to it. the only time that the default background shows is when i log off and relog in

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I think that your Mac detects your hard disk, but the problem is that your new hard disk doesn't contain any operating system, so your Mac doesn't find any bootable partition and you see a question mark.
If your Mac came with DVDs, insert the Mac OS X Install DVD and hold the C key while your Mac is starting. Then, just install Mac OS X. If the hard disk isn't prepared to install Mac OS X, you will have to erase it using "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". See > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html

  • Why do I have a light blue screen randomly appear?

In the middle of using my MacBook, a light blue screen randomly appears. It disappears if I shut the screen and then open it again. It was happening every few months, now it's happening a couple of times a day.

Hi, got exacly the same problem, the screen turns light blue every now and then especially when watching a video on the internet and I can't shut it down. Well, I noticed that it was happening when the mac book pro had been running for a while and was particularly warm, then one day I pointed a fan towards the device to cool it down and after a few minutes internet came back. I do the same thing all the times the screen goes off and I always sort it out, it must be about overheating.

  • Change screen background color without any defer

I would like to change the screen background color using the Framed color box.  I can do this using property node. The problem is I cannot update the screen simultaneously as that in VI edit mode. I hope the screen background color can update as the mouse moving on the framed color box.   Does anyone know a solution? Thanks.

Here is an OK cheat.  Dont use a background, make the color box larger than the screen and move to the back most element.  Looks the same but isnt perfect.

my ipod touch 4th gen isnt work after a long time with 0 percent battery power. Then its not working. computer doesnt respond to my ipod .only black screen is appearing it even not wake up after reset it what can i do please help me

After being connected to a charging source overnight try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
