Script Logic based on %value% of the Account

Hi All
Hope everyone is doing great. This blog has been really helpful.
Version: BPC NW - 10, sp12
I have a situation where I am using an account as FLAG01 and based upon the flag value input by the user, I would like the calculation to be executed.
I have written the basic algorithm which I am looking forward to resolve:
When FLAG01 = 0
     Do Nothing
When FLAG01 = 1
       [ACCOUNT].[B] = [ACCOUNT].[A] * (-1)          and goes into ENTITY = "US_ELIM"
When FLAG01 = 2
       [ACCOUNT].[B] = [ACCOUNT].[A] * (-1)          and goes into ENTITY = "NA_ELIM"
I have written the script logic, but guess missing the syntax somewhere.
eg:
*WHEN "FLAG01"
*REC(EXPRESSION = %VALUE% = 1 ? ((-1)*([ACCOUNT].[A]), 0 , ACCOUNT = "B", P_ENTITY = "US_ELIM")
*REC(EXPRESSION = %VALUE% = 2 ? ((-1)*([ACCOUNT].[A]), 0 , ACCOUNT = "B", P_ENTITY = "NA_ELIM")
*ENDWHEN
Any insights are appreciated.
Thanks
AJ

Worked like a charm, just had to make minor tweaks based upon details to test it and it worked.
*WHEN ACCOUNT
*IS EL05
*REC(EXPRESSION = ([ACCOUNT].[EL05])==1? (-1)*([ACCOUNT].[FN-COS.1.4.1]):0, ACCOUNT = "FN-REV.1.1.3.5", P_ENTITY = "A")
*REC(EXPRESSION = ([ACCOUNT].[EL05])==2? (-1)*([ACCOUNT].[FN-COS.1.4.1]):0, ACCOUNT = "FN-REV.1.1.3.5", P_ENTITY = "B")
*ENDWHEN
Really glad how the results came out in 3-4 hit and trials.
Thanks Vadim, appreciate your help on this.
Thanks to all who helped.

  • Conditional script logic based on total value...

    Hi Experts,
I have a consolidation rule scenario below wherein I have to apply the following logic since it's not possible to check the sign of data using automatic adjustment business rules.
If Investment > Share Capital record difference in Goodwill
If Share Capital > Investment record difference in RE
To simplify things since it's hard to track which Entity is active under the selected consolidation group, what I want now is to simply get the result under 9_CONSO for Elim Control since the sign convention is consistent for the elim entries. Say if TOTAL is positive then I'll record the data in RE else Goodwill. I already have a work in progress code but still I'm having a hard time getting the total. hope you could help me regarding this.
              11_UPLOAD     11_UPLOAD     22_CAPI          22_INVS          9_CONSO
              ENTITY_A     ENTITY_B     ENTITY_B     ENTITY_A     TOTAL
    Share Capital     1,500          -1,500
    RE
    Elim Control                         1,500          -2000          -500

    Hi Marvin,
In Consolidation, under a specific group/sub group, always there will be only one entity which will hold the method 90 (group parent) and where you suppose to post all these Goodwilll or Capital Reserve. If not, please explain your scenario.
You can also run validation after consolidation logic to post the negative amount in CR.
    I hope this will help.

  • BPC 7.0 MS Script-Logic problem: New values used, old values written?

I am trying to using BPC Script logic to update my Sales cube, specifically Revenue=Units*Price and Price=Revenue/Units using the "Price" stored in a seperate Price cube.
Inside default.lgl, I am *INCLUDE-ing my own script:
    *LOOKUP PRICES
    *DIM PREIS:ACCOUNT="Price"
    *ENDLOOKUP
    *WHEN ACCOUNT
    *IS "Units"
    *REC(FACTOR=LOOKUP(PREIS),ACCOUNT="Revenue")
    *IS "Revenue"
    *REC(EXPRESSION=%VALUE%/LOOKUP(PREIS),ACCOUNT="Units")
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
Now, when I insert new "Units" values using the std. Excel template, strange things happen:
    - The Revenues seems to be computed and updated correctly in the cube (if I check them using excel templates, they show up).
    - The Units seem to have the values they had before... seems they get old values ?!
E.g. if I have several write operations say, I write units=2,3,4 and price is constant 10,
the values in the cube seem to be (table):
value written, units in cube, revenue
    3 , 2 , 30
    4,  3 , 40
The new value is somewhere in the MS Analysis cube, otherwise, how could later be the new value be shown, although the excel templates seem to show old values?
Any explanation for that strange behaviour?

I simplified and wrote the prices in the same cube as I send the data from with the excel template.
    I tried using:
    *WHEN ACCOUNT
    *IS "Units"
    [Account].[#Revenue]=[Account].[Units]*[Account].[Price]
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
    *WHEN ACCOUNT
    *IS "Revenue"
    [Account].[#Units]=[Account].[Revenue]/[Account].[Price]
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
Now, if units are send from the excel template, revenue is calculated correctly.
If I enter revenue instead, seems that the 1st block is executed as well (why????!!!/how to avoid - I use *WHEN - what else should I do? )  which would explain the behaviour I get the old values for Units and Account again...
Related: How can I use "*WRITE_TO_FILE"? I tried both
    *WRITE_TO_FILE Mylog.txt
    *WRITE_TO_FILE "Mylog.txt"
But I can't find these file after sending data through the excel template... Do I have to create the files manually first or give full Path Names?
    Thanks!

  • Displaying different sheets at run time based on value of the parameter

    Hi,
I've a query regarding displaying two different sheets at run time in Oracle discoverer based on the value of the parameter that i give.
    I've a parameter Summary_flag.
If the value of the parameter is 'Y',then it should display a sheet, say for example it should display Sheet1.
If the value is 'N',then it should display another sheet, say for example it should display Sheet2.
Is there any way in which i can accomplish this?
I went through the Format and Tools menus but couldnt find anything regarding this aspect.
    Can you help me out?
    Thanks,

Having a Disco parameter dictate which worksheet is displayed is not an option that is available. There are a few workarounds, though:
    1. Have a portlet (or some other web interface) accept your parameters, and then call the appropriate worksheet.
    2. Have 2 worksheets, and have it devolve into a training issue (for a summary run this, for all the details run this).
    3. Create calculations that will show or hide column data depending on the parameter selected - the columns will still be there, and you can fill them in with blanks, or a message like "N/A for Summary".
    4. Create a report that will allow the users to drill between the summary and detail data - I'm not sure whether you could use a parameter to then say whether the report should open up summarized or expanded.

  • Can a subreport select records based on values in the main report record?

    Post Author: calvin
    CA Forum: General
Perhaps my understanding of a subreport is incorrect as this is the first time I've used one, but it seems to me that the subreport should be able to use the values from the main report record in its (the subreport's) operations-but my subreport doesn't seem to be working that way.In my main report, I select a set of records from a 'request' table. I have a subreport in the detail section so the subreport is processed for each of the request records. That works, but I'm simply getting the same data reported multiple times. It's as if the subreport only uses the last request record rather than the current one. Stating it this way I can see that the problem might be evaluation time-it's processing the request records first, then processing the subreport, and only then printing everything. If this is correct then putting WhilePrintingRecords on the subreport should work-but the only way I know of to do that is in a formula. Can I call the subreport from a formula? Or am I totally off-track?Thanks.

Have you established a link(s) between your main report and subreport? When viewing the main report, click edit --> subreport links and link the 2 based on whatever values from the main report you want.

  • Redirect to 3 diffrent pages based on value in the Auto complete field.

    Hi Friends,
I am using an "Auto complete field" in a page for searching(Apex version 4.0). But i need to get values from 3 tables and when clicking on the value redirect to any of the 3 pages based on the value.
For example i am having 3 tables. 1.Customers 2.Sites 3.Employees. When i enter 'c' in the search field i need to get values from 3 tables to be listed in that "auto complete" field. i.e, if i am having customer with name 'cusotmer1', 'customer2' and site with names 'cisc1','cisc2' and employees with name'cid1','cid2' ; when i enter 'c' in the auto complete field all 6 values must be listed in the "auto complete" field and when clicking on 'customer1'/'customer2' need to redirect to page 'customer'. When clicking on 'cisc1'/'cisc2' redirect to "site" when clicking on 'cid1'/'cid2' redirect to employees page. Is there any way to achieve this. Please help.
    Regards,
    Nav

    Hi Nav,
OK - on my page 1, I have a "Text Field with autocomplete" item called P1_SELECTION. The List of Values definition setting for this is:
    WITH D AS (SELECT ENAME || ' (Employee)' X
    FROM EMP
    UNION ALL
    SELECT DNAME || ' (Department)' X
    FROM DEPT)
    SELECT X
    FROM D
ORDER BY 1This adds the appropriate suffix to each item to show where the data is from - you can change this if you want as this becomes part of the searchable text.
On page 1, I have a normal SUBMIT button.
    Then I have two branches:
    1 - settings are:
Branch Type: Branch to Page or URL
Branch Point: On Submit: After Processing (After Computation, Validation, and Processing)
Target Type: Page in this Application
Page: 2 (the employee edit page)
    Clear Cache: 2
    Set these items: P2_ENAME
    With these values: &P1_SELECTION.
Condition Type: Exists (SQL query returns at least one row)
    Expression 1:
    SELECT 1
    FROM DUAL
WHERE :P1_SELECTION LIKE '%(Employee)'When Button Pressed: SUBMIT
    2 - settings are:
Branch Type: Branch to Page or URL
Branch Point: On Submit: After Processing (After Computation, Validation, and Processing)
Target Type: Page in this Application
Page: 3 (the department edit page)
    Clear Cache: 3
    Set these items: P3_DNAME
    With these values: &P1_SELECTION.
Condition Type: Exists (SQL query returns at least one row)
    Expression 1:
    SELECT 1
    FROM DUAL
WHERE :P1_SELECTION LIKE '%(Department)'When Button Pressed: SUBMIT
On page 2 (the employee edit form), I have Computation with the following settings:
    Item Name: P2_EMPNO
Type: SQL Query (return single value)
    Computation Point: Before Header
    Computation:
    SELECT EMPNO
    FROM EMP
WHERE ENAME || ' (Employee)' = :P2_ENAME Condition Type: Exists (SQL query returns at least one row)
    Expression 1:
    SELECT 1
    FROM DUAL
WHERE :P2_ENAME LIKE '%(Employee)'On page 3 (the department edit form), I have Computation with the following settings:
    Item Name: P2_DEPTNO
Type: SQL Query (return single value)
    Computation Point: Before Header
    Computation:
    SELECT DEPTNO
    FROM DEPT
WHERE DNAME || ' (Department)' = :P3_DNAMECondition Type: Exists (SQL query returns at least one row)
    Expression 1:
    SELECT 1
    FROM DUAL
WHERE :P3_DNAME LIKE '%(Department)'The idea is that we append some fixed text to the end of the names in the autocomplete list. When the user clicks submit after selecting a name, one of the branches will be triggered depending on which fixed text is there. The branch sets the ENAME or DNAME value on the edit page and the computation on that page retrieves the appropriate EMPNO or DEPTNO value to put into the primary key page item (the main "Fetch Row..." process will then use that to get the real data for the record).
Note that this assumes that ENAME and DNAME are unique on their tables - otherwise, the computations will not be able to find a single record and an error would be generated.

  • HELP: WHERE Clause based on value of the column

I am selecting from a table as follows and want to have a where condition that is dependent of the value of the column, type of the current row.
CREATE TABLE tbl (INT id, VARCHAR type, VARCHAR comment)
I have 3 different values for the type column, EMPLOYEE, CUSTOMER, SUPPLIER. What I want is to have a where clause in my select that is based on the value of type.
I tried the following but was not successful..
    SELECT * from tbl
    CASE
    WHEN type = 'EMPLOYEE' THEN
    WHERE comment LIKE '%employee%'
    WHEN type = 'CUSTOMER' THEN
    WHERE comment LIKE '%customer%'
    WHEN type = 'SUPPLIER' THEN
    WHERE comment LIKE '%supplier%'
    END
I am not proficient with stored procedures so if you could please tell me how to do it with straight query, I would greatly appreciated it..
    Thank you,

    Or maybe this:
    SELECT *
      FROM tbl
    WHERE "COMMENT" LIKE
              CASE TYPE
                 WHEN 'EMPLOYEE'
                    THEN '%employee%'
                 WHEN 'CUSTOMER'
                    THEN '%customer%'
                 WHEN 'SUPPLIER'
                    THEN '%supplier%'
              END

  • How can I get scripting access to color values in the indexed Color Table?

    Hey all,
I'm relatively new to Photoshop scripting, but I've just finished a script that helps my fiance with some very tedious tasks related to textile design.
The last issue that I'm having is that the image I start with is indexed and has a very specific Color Table pallete ( 2-12 colors max + black and white, so 14 max total, sometimes as few as 2 ). Part of my script, I create a number of color chips and fill them with black currently... What I'd like is to be able to get a count of the colors in the Color Table and put the actual color values as hex into an 1 dimension array, so that I fill those black chips I've made with the actual colors from the Color Table.
( I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm converting the image to RGB mode at some point in the script, and back to Indexed Exact ).
Can anyone please help me do this? Needs to be compatible with CS5 and CS6 ideally.
    Thanks!!

Cheers for that, your code works but what had thrown me was that the collections appear to be empty - so I hadn't actually tried retrieving one, I just assumed I was looking in the wrong place.
So if I do this in my Immediate window:
     App.Current.Resources.Count
     0
Yet when I request it, I get one:
     App.Current.Resources["TitleTextStyle"]
     {Windows.UI.Xaml.Style}
         base {Windows.UI.Xaml.DependencyObject}: {Windows.UI.Xaml.Style}
         BasedOn: {Windows.UI.Xaml.Style}
         IsSealed: false
         Setters: {Windows.UI.Xaml.SetterBaseCollection}
         TargetType: {Name = "TextBlock" FullName = "Windows.UI.Xaml.Controls.TextBlock"}
Looking at the resources object itself, I get similar apparently empty collections:
     App.Current.Resources
     {Windows.UI.Xaml.ResourceDictionary}
         base {Windows.UI.Xaml.DependencyObject}: {Windows.UI.Xaml.ResourceDictionary}
         Count: 0
         IsReadOnly: false
         Keys: Count = 0
         MergedDictionaries: {Windows.UI.Xaml.DependencyObject}
         Source: null
         ThemeDictionaries: {Windows.UI.Xaml.ResourceDictionary}
         Values: Count = 0

  • Bex report to report interface dynamically based on Value in the query

    Hi,
Is it possible to change the destination of the report to report interface dynamically based on the data of the bex query?
For example my query has the below data
    Plant | KPI | Quantity
    P1 | A | 20.00
    P2 | B | 25.00
When the user selects KPI A I want to navigate to Query 1, and when KPI B is selected to Query 2. Query 1 and Query 2 have completely different layouts, Instead of create to two destinations is it possible to pick one based on the KPI selected.
Is this possible in Bex report to report interface or any other way.
    Please suggest

  • [ASK] Get One Row of Property Value From Dimension in Script Logic

Hello, i need help about how to get one row of property value from dimension in script logic.
Let say there is CATEGORY dimension and the members are like this :
    ID                                                  YEAR   Status
    PLAN_2011                                   2011        A
    PLAN_2011_V1                            2011        I
    ACTUAL_2011                              2011        I
    FORECAST_2011                         2011        I
    FORECAST_2011_V1                  2011        A
    PLAN_2012                                  2012        A
    PLAN_2012_V1                           2012        I
    ACTUAL_2012                             2012        I
    FORECAST_2012                         2012        I
    FORECAST_2012_V1                  2012        A
If i scope CATEGORY like this :
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY = [CATEGORY].PROPERTIES("YEAR") = "2011"
Then i will get member scope like this :
    PLAN_2011                                   2011        A
    PLAN_2011_V1                            2011        I
    ACTUAL_2011                              2011        I
    FORECAST_2011                         2011        I
    FORECAST_2011_V1                  2011        A
    Question :
In script logic, how can i read the second record of scope and move it to variable ?
Ex. : I read second record, so i can get the data of second record (PLAN_2011_V1, 2011, A).
Is there any function to read all record that had been scope ? So i can read all those 5 records.
Is there any substring or offset function in script logic ? How to use it ?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Firstly, when we scope the logic, it doesnt fetch the entire record from the member sheet. It just fetches the ID.
Secondly, we dont have the feasibility to read only the second ID and skip the others. However, one alternative is that you use the SELECT statement to store all the IDs in a variable, and then use a FOR loop. But this will loop through all the 5 IDs, as per your example. If you want to skip all the IDs except one, you should maintain some property, so that all the IDs are neglected which doesnt have a particular property value.
    Hope you got the idea.

  • Copying the data and ignoring the Script logic

    Hi,
I have some data in Actual category for 2010.APR and I would like to COPY the same
(through DM) to Budget category with my default script logic file.  When I am trying to
Do the same it is copying the same data into Budget category, ignoring my script logic
Actually it should increase the value.
Can anybody help me in this regard.
    Thanks in adv.
    Raghu B.S.

The problem it is into script logic.
When you insert records you are inserting records with category Budget.
But your default script logic is inserting new recotrds just in case if the input has category Actual.
So you just to do a correction into your script logic to change the statement
    *WHEN CATEGORY
    *IS "ACTUAL"
    with
    *WHEN CATEGORY
    *IS "BUDGET"
In this way the default script logic will be executed and after the copy you will have also the records generated by script logic.

  • Can we calculate difference of  dimension properties values in script logic

    HI
I have 3 products, whose manufacturing process starting perod and end periods are different for three products. Now I want
to distribute total  manufactuing cost to those periods only for each product.  how will write script logic  for this senario.
    My system is BPC nw7.5
    Mahi

    Hi,
So, you want to find the difference between the dates and distribute the cost among them. I dont think this will be feasible using script logic. My suggestion would be use BADI. Script logic cannot do manipulation on the properties. BADI will be much easier. In addition to this, you need to think what should be the destination of the result. Every record is going to generate few records (depending on the number of months).
    Hope this helps.

  • Distribution in script logic

    Hello, all.
I'm new in BPC. Please give advice, how can we realize following logic.
We have a application Sales with following dimensions.
Account, Category, DataSrc, Entity, Department, Prodline, RptCurrency, Time
User send data to the DB in view:
    Account | Category | DataSrc | Entity | Department | Prodline | RptCurrency| Time
    NetSales | BUDGET | Input | Company_In | Sales | NoProd | LC | 2008.INP
Where each record NetSales, Budget, etc has no child
and user send data in view:
    Account | Category | DataSrc | Entity | Department | Prodline | RptCurrency| Time
    Coeficient | BUDGET | Input | Company | Sales | NoProd | LC | 2008.INP
    Where Entity has 3 childs: Company_1, Company_2, Company_3.
After posting a data to Fact table, it view, is:
    Account | Category | DataSrc | Entity | Department | Prodline | RptCurrency| Time | Signed_data
    NetSales | BUDGET | Input | Company_In | Sales | NoProd | LC |2008.INP| -20
    Coeficient| BUDGET | Input | Company_1 | Sales | NoProd | LC | 2008.INP| -0,1
    Coeficient| BUDGET | Input | Company_2 | Sales | NoProd | LC | 2008.INP| -0,3
    Coeficient| BUDGET | Input | Company_3 | Sales | NoProd | LC | 2008.INP| -0,6
I want to get new records in db such as:
    Account | Category | DataSrc | Entity | Department | Prodline | RptCurrency| Time | Signed_data
    NetSales | BUDGET | Input | Company_1 | Sales | NoProd | LC | 2008.INP| -2
    NetSales | BUDGET | Input | Company_2 | Sales | NoProd | LC | 2008.INP| -6
    NetSales | BUDGET | Input | Company_3 | Sales | NoProd | LC | 2008.INP| -12
Where NetSales distribute by coefficient for each Entity.
    I want do something like (Account ="NetSales",Entity ="Company_1")= (Account="NetSales",Entity="Company_In")*(Account="Coeficient",Entity.Company_1) for each Company_n.
How can I write script logic for this.
    Thanks

I think there are several options.  The easiest option may be simply to construct a template that sends the values directly based on the input of the Coefficients and the Raw data value input of 20.  Thus the input process would submit 7 total entries.
Now should you wish to have a repeatable calculation process that updates the Child entities each time either a coefficient or data input point is submit, then you could utilize script logic that was suggested in the thread as an allocation process. Otherwise, you would need to develop sets of properties and script logic for each set of requests such as:
    *When Account.ID
    *IS COEFFICIENT
    *WHEN ENTITY.ID
    *IS COMPANY_1
    *REC(EXPRESSION = VALUE * GET(ACCOUNT=ACCOUNT.NETSALES,ENTITY=ENTITY.COMPANY_IN), ACCOUNT=ACCOUNT.NETSALES)
    *ENDWHEN
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
This is not as flexible and there are many approaches that may be taken here, such as using LOOKUP statements and proeprties to manage the calculations and make them more flexible. It will just depend on how much volume there is to calculate, how many statements are required and how often the logic will need to be updated or managed based on hierarchy changes to the entity dimension.  Plus, you need to test many options to determine which is the fastest approach during the send process.
    Hope this helps.

    *XDIM_MEMBERSET BUDGET_ACT = <ALL>
    *WHEN CATEGORY
    *IS %CGY_PLAN%  // Error
      *WHEN TIME
      *IS %YEAR_TTL%
        *REC(CATEGORY = %CGY_FORECAST%, TIME = %YEAR_TTL%)
      *ENDWHEN
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
When i validate, it is error for statement : *IS %CGY_PLAN%.
But if that statement i change into : *IS %YEAR_TTL%; it isn't error.
Why is this happen ? How to correct it ?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    You have 3 variables in your script - CGY_PLAN, CGY_FORECAST, and YEAR_TTL.
Are you passing the values to these variables through DM package?

  • Reg: Selectively Commenting Script Logic

    Dear Experts,
I have a situation where in the Default Logic file comprises of Allocation Logic and Currency Translation Logic, and it works fine.
But for just one of my reports I have created an Data manager package for Allocation as it uses a different Dimension (Datasource dim instead of Product dim) when compared with the others (which are allocated based on Product).
The allocation logic works fine if and only if i comment the Allocation Logic present in the Default logic file but this will prohibit the allocation in the remaining reports.
Is there a way i can restrict the Allocation present in default logic and run only the manually triggered allocation without commenting in default logic so that it works fine for other reports as well.
    Please advice.
    Rgds,
    Rizwan

I'm a little confused by your use of the word "reports." In BPC, I use the word "report" to mean something very simple -- a view into the data that is stored in the database.
Any script logic that calculates values (for example, allocations or currency conversion) will post its results to the database. Once those results are in the database, any and all reports which point to those values will retrieve the same result. So it's not possible to have one report retrieve values that are impacted by a data manager package, while other reports ignore that data manager package.
(However, as soon as I say that, I'll disagree with myself and say, yes of course it's possible -- in the most extreme case, create separate applications for the different business requirements. Or more frequently, use different members in datasrc or some other dimension to isolate the different values.)
To solve your problem, you need to approach it in terms of the cube (OLAP) data structure, and then your final reports need to either include or exclude, as appropriate, the allocation results. I would recommend you not think in terms of making the code branch in different directions (based on some or other reports). Instead, the logic runs all the time, and the question should be, where do the logic results post to?
For a very simple example, the currency conversion results always post to USD, EUR, etc. members of the RptCurrency dimension. This logic will never change the original (LC) values.
For your allocation logic, the same approach can apply. Obviously you wouldn't use the RptCurrency dimension to differentiate the results, but perhaps a datasrc dimension (or something similar) can achieve the result you need.
For instance think of a datasrc dimension which looks like this, one parent and two children:
    AllDatasrc
    -- InputData
    -- AllocResult
The allocation logic only considers data in InputData, and posts the results to AllocResult. The other reports (which should not reflect the allocation) are focused on InputData, while the allocation report looks at AllDatasrc, or possibly even all 3 members to show the "before and after"
Once you make that change, you need to decide how it impacts everything else in the application. The currency conversion logic, perhaps should now include both InputData and AllocResult. That's up to you to decide.
