Script warning

Hi,
I've made a script that opens a panel at Illustrator startup.
From that panel I can execute other jsx scripts by clicking on buttons, but there's a warning message that popups everytime I click a button...
You are about to run a script in Adobe Illustrator CS5. You should only run scripts from trusted sources. Do you want to run the script?
Is it possible to avoid that warning ??
I've tried with
app.userInteractionLevel = UserInteractionLevel.DONTDISPLAYALERTS;
but it doesn't work
Thanks for your help

You are using File.execute() to run your scripts, right?
The Toolkit treats the user's Documents/Adobe Scripts folder, however, as a trusted location; when you double-click a JSX file in that folder, the Toolkit does not display the security alert.
----From JavaScript Tools Guide
So you need to put your scripts into Documents/Adobe Scripts folder to aviod that warning.
But you can use other way to run script: $.evalFile(), maybe should along with BridgeTalk as you are using a "palette" type panel.

  • Preloader Freezes, then 'Unresponsive Script' Warning

    Hi folks-
This is my first Edge Animate project.
I have created a simple cross-fading 'slide show' with moving text overlays using the most recent upgrade of Edge Animate 3.0.0.  8 slides.  The stage isn't that huge: 748x334 pixels.  There is one .png overlay with a transparent interior to create the framing; the 8 slides revealed underneath are all Q50 'saved for web' jpgs averaging under 40kB each.  I have used one of the simple preloaders in the included library and published for web.
My problem presents regardless of which browser I use (tried the latest versions of Firefox, IE, Safari, Chrome and Opera), and whether I run the published .html solo (hosted on my server), or embedded in the final web page it's destined for.  Also, I get the same result when I use Ctrl-Enter from within Edge Animate to preview in my default browser (Firefox).
The problem is that the preloader gif only runs briefly, then freezes, followed by up to a minute of waiting (sometimes even more) before the first slide appears and the animation begins.  Solo'd, it's just the frozen animated gif during the wait.  Embedded in the final web page, the whole page, including navigation, is unresponsive until after the wait is over.
Depending on the browser, I will get various warnings.  In Firefox I get the 'Unresponsive Script' warning and it identifies the unresponsive scripts as:
    http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.0.3/jquery.min.js:4
    Or
    http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.0.3/jquery.min.js:5
    Or
    http://animate.adobe.com/runtime/3.0.0/edge.3.0.0.min.js:166
    Or
    http://animate.adobe.com/runtime/3.0.0/edge.3.0.0.min.js:45
Sometimes I've selected 'cancel script'; sometimes I've selected 'wait for script to finish';  it doesn't seem to matter which one I select.  Sometimes it works immediately after making either selection;  In some cases I get the warning message 2-3 times before it finally works.
I've tried both hosting the runtime files myself and on Adobe CDN.  I've also tried 'Immediate' and 'Polite' for the preloader.  It makes no difference.
I've also disabled all add-ons in Firefox and the result is the same, though it may take less time to recover from the freeze.
I ran a speed test and my current download speed is 13mbps, so I can't believe my paltry image files are taking this long to load...and even if they were, shouldn't the preloader continue to animate during the load?
Has anyone else seen this behavior? I sure am hoping for a solution~!
When I created something similar to this in Flash a couple years ago, it didn't even need a preloader it loaded up and ran so fast...
    Quite Puzzled,
           bOB

    hi bOB,
I know your post has been long time ago, however recently I'm having the same issue you had, except the errors messages you're getting, my preloader stays at the same point unless I hit reload page on the browser and finally loads it. Are you still having the preloader issue even with the most recent Edge Animate version?
    Thanks,
    Paco

  • I'm constantly getting the "unresponsive script" warning, what can I do to prevent or resolve the issue?

I have another kind of problem with Firefox
    == Description
    ==
Every time I open a site I get the "unresponsive script" warning. Then randomly throughout my web surfing. It's a constant occurrence. In fact, I've yet to go a single session without receiving a warning. For several days I was logging each message by using print screen, then saving under paint. If these are required to rectify this issue, I'd gladly send them.

    Hi,
Has anyone experienced this issue in Internet Explorer version 7 and above? If the prompt has more than 100 elements (my current use-case), the prompt does not get rendered and I get the slow/busy script warning in Internet Explorer. I have not experienced this in Firefox or Chrome.

  • Unresposive script warning as follows: Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsBlocklistService.js:648

Every time Firefox is first opened on restarting my computer, it opens very slowly, finally giving the unresponsive script warning Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsBlocklistService.js:648. This '''''really''''' slows things down. I tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling; it didn't help. I'm running Windows XP Media Center edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 2.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem does not disappear when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.

  • Firefox slow to open, getting nonresponsive script warning

Was having a problem w/ Firefox not working due to incompatible version. The support forum suggested I uninstall & reinstall the latest version. This worked, but now Firefox takes forever (3-5 min.) to open, and I keep getting a "non-responsive script" warning from Windows. My computer is also having issues - it's running extra slow, so that may be the problem, but as long as I've been using Firefox I've noticed that it's slower to open than other browsers.
    Any thoughts? Thanks!

I am having the same problem, but not sure what's causing the slow down. Restarting in safe mode fixes the performance problem... but disabling all plug ins and extensions in normal mode (and restarting firefox) still shows the bug. Any ideas?

  • What does "unresponsive script" warning mean?

what does "unresponsive script" warning mean?

I'm having the same problem with Firefox 19 on both OS X and Windows 7. It seems to be tied to Facebook (which I have as a pinned tab). I don't have to force quit though - just hit the 'stop script' button and things proceed as usual.
I've a bug report into Firefox - if you don't have Facebook open in a tab, I don't know why you're getting the same error message.

    Hi,
just trying to do some things with vbs and sapgui, i've enabled scripting on the server and disabled scripting warning in the Control Panel. Scripting works fine if the gui is already started, but if i try to start the GUI over vbs and logon i still get:
"A script is opening a connection to system xyz"
    Using Sapgui 6405.5.28
how can i disable the warning message ?
    thx
    Heinrich

    Hi,
Log into the SAP system you are running the script on. Goto the Customize Local Layout button on the toolbar (last one on the right). In the resulting drop down menu click on options.
You should get a pop up box so go to the scripting tab. Untick the option "Notify When a Script Attaches to a Running GUI". Also untick the "Notify When a Script Opens a Connection".
That should sort it out - let me know if not.
    Thanx

  • Unresponsive script warning

I keep getting a warning about an unresponsive script. And do I want to continue or stop the script. What does this mean? I know it slows down my laptop and I have to reboot it. What can I do to stop this unresponsive script?

The script in question is part of a Web page provided by a Web site you are currently accessing.  the problem is sloppy programming by the author of a web page. There is no need to re-boot your Macintosh.
The effect is limited to that page running in that Browser. Telling it to terminate the script, Closing that Web Browser window, disabling javascript, or force-quitting Safari will all terminate the problem.
