Scripted LDAP Probe w/username and password

I have a scripted LDAP rpobe currently in use. It uses the anonymous bind authentication to work and it works just fine. However they want to go to a username and password instead for security reasons. So I used the script that was previously supplied on this forum to create the HEX. See below:
$username = "uid=XXXXXX,cn=support,dc=enterprise,dc=com";
$password = "XXXXX";
$len_username = length($username);
$xlen_username = sprintf("%02x", $len_username); $len_password = length($password); $xlen_password = sprintf("%02x", $len_password);
$username =~s/(.)/sprintf("%x",ord($1))/eg; $password =~s/(.)/sprintf("%x",ord($1))/eg;
$temp = "020103" . "04" . $xlen_username . $username . "80" . $xlen_password . $password; $tlen = length($temp) / 2; $xtlen = sprintf("%02x",$tlen);
$temp = "020101" . "60" . $xtlen . $temp;
$tlen = length($temp) / 2;
$xtlen = sprintf("%02x",$tlen);
$temp = "30" . $xtlen . $temp;
print $temp . "\n";
I get this result in HEX, (last 6 characters are changed )
303e0201016039020103042b7569643d214c4242494e442c636e3d737570706f72742c64633d656e74657270726973652c64633d636f6d800742316e64XXXXXX
I added them to the Probe script here:
ace_debug "sending ldap bind request"
puts -nonewline $sock [ binary format "H*" NEW HEX STRING  ]
flush $sock
However this doesn't work, am I putting this new HEX string in the proper place or does everything look right?

Robert-
  The string length maximum is 127 characters, you ended up with 128 somehow.  The string you send is specific to a few things, like the server type, how the array is created, etc.  You should check out this thread: https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3613048#3613048 It has some decent information on it.

  • Script Updater to change username and password

    Can the script updater change the username and password for a bunch of test? I tried using the Global search and replace but it was not able to find the string. Please help?

    If the password is stored in the test it's self you can find it by opening the test file xxx.mom and preform there a search and replace.
    Perhaps it's better to connect the password to a variable by connecting it to a databank source. So the password is stored only once. Saves a lot of maintainance.

  • I have a request from a customer to run a script to create multiple Usernames and Passwords on ACS5.3 appliance.

    I have a request from a cutomer to run a script to create multiple username and password on ACS5.3 Appliance. Does anyone has any suggestion on how to go about this?

    Have you tried using the import option on the ACS? You can put all your accounts in a csv file and upload it into the ASA.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.3/user/guide/users_id_stores.html#wp1132152
    If that doesnt work you can use the REST Web Services in ACS also:

  • Username and Password while starting the weblogic

    Hi All,
    Whenever I call the start script to start weblogic the script asks for the username and password I tried changing the script many times with and without the values but it always requests for the username and password.Is there anything which needs to be set in the admin cosole.
    Let me know.
    Thanks
    sandhya

    Hello Sandhya,
    You need to specify boot up credentials in boot.properties files ,so at startup server doesn't prompts for them. Refer this link for more informaition. Once you bring the server up, these credential will get encrypted and thus seucured also.

  • Check if username and password passed are valid?

    hi,
    i've been asked to create a shell script that accepts a username and password which i then need to check against the database..
    but the script won't be running any sql commands.. it will run another script that also accepts a username and password.
    what i have so far
    sqlplus -s $ora_user_pass << EOF
    set echo off
    set heading off
    select sysdate from dual;
    exit
    EOF
    ret_code=$?
    if [ "$ret_code" -gt 0 ]; then
      echo "Invalid username and/or password"
      exit
    else
    ....this works ok but it's a little dirty.. when the username and password are incorrect it shows a bunch of errors instead of the displaying "Invalid username and/or password".. this is coming from the sqlplus.
    i'd appreciate any other suggestions.
    thanks

  • Securing LDAP username and password in Websphere

    Hi all,
    I am new to LDAP and WAS. I want to secure the username and password for my LDAP server. Right now i have two choices for using the username and password for the LDAP
    1. i can put the username and password in a properties file.( but then it makes my application insecure....anybody can read it )
    2. I can put them in a .java file and after compilation it would be converted to the class file.( but in this approach anyone who knows in which file it is residing can use a decompiler to read it)
    I have seen one implementation for DB2 in which they make a datastore in the application server that holds the username and password for the DB2 server. I want to use same kind of facility for my application.
    Can anyone help me with this...?

    The error description is:

  • Webdynpro application taking MDM username and password from LDAP

    Hi All,
    I am working on EP-MDM integration.
    EP-LDAP , MDM-LDAP and EP-MDM have been integrated.
    The requirement is :
    When we run a webdynpro application from EP , it should take the user id and password of EP user who is currently logged in.(which is actually LDAP user and also exists for MDM) without hard coding it.
    The application will work according to the roles guaranteed to the user in MDM for eg: the user will be able to write into MDM only if he has read/write permissions in MDM.
    Please tell how the application will fetch the username and password from the EP details.
    Regards
    Shilpa

    Hi,
    You need to set a trusted connection between the EP and MDM System.
    And use the trusted connection JAVA API in the Web Dynpro to make a connection to MDM Repository. Trusted connection JAVA API will ask you only the username and not the password.

  • Tell me about LDAP Monitor Constitution Page's username and password

    Hi! all
    Now target LDAP is stoping on Grid Console(on AS Console is start) and I discovered couse(Metric Collection Error ORA-0107:invalid user name/password;login denided).
    I was updated user name and password(cn=orcladmin/[ias_admin's password]) on
    LDAP Monitor Cobstitution Page .
    But LDAP status was not changed.
    Tell me about LDAP Monitor Constitution Page's username and password.

    Thanks mnazim!
    But I can't clarify username/password,cause this parameter setting is originally needless(It is set automatically by a grid).
    On this account I tested the following, but was no use.
    - orcladmin/[ias_admin password]
    - cn=orcladmin/[ias_admin password]
    - cn=oracle admin,cn=oracle internet directory/welcome
    - cn=oracle admin,cn=oracle internet directory/[ias_admin password]
    I do not understand a user and a password to be related to other LDAP.
    Do not you know it?

  • Single sign-on and different usernames and passwords

    Hello,
    I am building a Portal with WLPS 3.5 and WLS 6.0. I tried to get
    information about the background of single sign-on.
    I understand, that I need a Realm (i.e. LDAP Realm) to authenticate the
    user for the first login to the portal (with username and password).
    Now I would like to integrate my webmail-programm (to get emails from
    Lotus Notes via Internet) as a portlet.
    For my understanding the user has to authorizate to get access to webmail.
    Therefore I create a ACL for webmail and this ACL is assigned to my
    security Realm.
    I would like the portlet to show after login the number of mails for the
    specific user. But where are the username and password for webmail stored
    and how are they received and forwarded?
    I understand that my ACL included all users that have access to webmail
    (i.e. all users). But I only want emails for the specific user.
    Does WLS get all usernames and passwords while the first login? Do I have to
    implement a algorithmen to get the specific username and password for the
    requested resource in my portlet?
    Has anyone solved a similar problem or can tell me where I can get more
    information. I read the WebLogic Security document but I cant find a
    answer to my questions.
    Thanks
    Lydia

    Lydia,
    I'm not an expert in this area, but I can give you a start.
    As for single sign-on, there are different levels. For single sign-on across web-apps,
    the servlet spec requires this (section 12.6 of th 2.3 spec) and therefore Weblogic
    does this.
    What you are talking about is single sign-on across back-end applications through
    a web-app. BEA has partnered with Securant (just acquired by RSA) to provide this
    kind of functionality. Browse to http://www.rsasecurity.com/products/ and look
    at the ClearTrust product. BEA has also partnered with Netegrity (www.netegrity.com)
    with their SiteMinder product. Neither is included in the Weblogic license. I'm
    sure either vendor would be excited to explain how their product will solve your
    problem if you give them a call.
    As for where the username and passwords are stored, that is up to the realm. If
    you are using the default WLPS RDBMSRealm, the username and encrypted password
    are stored in the WLCS_USER table. If you are using LDAPRealm, they are stored
    in your LDAP server.
    Hope this was useful!

    has different usernames and passwords for different applications.
    Can someone explain where the usernames and passwords for a user are
    stored (all in the LDAP-realm or a RDBMS-realm?) When a user access the
    application how username and passwords are mapped? Or usernames and
    passwords for all applications are the same and will be equalized?
    Precisely I would like to get access to a mail-account for a specific

  • MDT 2013: bootstrap.ini not applying username and password for share access

    Well all, I've done this at least 20 times today and the deployment share info is still wrong...
    Someone else built and messed with this thing so i'm trying to fix it.  We have 2 MDT servers and 1 WDS that is on the Production MDT.  I've turned the test MDT off.
    It was working fine, until I updated the deployment share ... after adding some drivers for the surface pro 3 for the pxe boot
    Very Simple bootstrap.ini

    UserID=xxx
    UserDomain=xxx
    UserPassword=xxx
    KeyboardLocale=en-US
    SkipBDDWelcome=YES
    It continues to show up on the client as ||mdt901w8|deploymentshare$  (test server) (pipes for \ since it makes it a link and i'm new)
    I've deleted all the .wim and associated files from all locations from the deployment share\boot folder and from the wds remote install\boot\x64\images folder where they are instead of the remote install\boot\images folder that everyone refers to.
    I really can't figure this one out... I know it's something simple I'm over looking but I can't see it..
    Any ideas..

  • How to set username and password before redirecting to a RESTful webservice

    I am a .Net developer who has developed a webservice used by my ColdFusion colleagues. They are using ColdFusion 9 but I'm not sure if they have incorporated any of the newer features of ColdFusion in their apps. Here is a snippet of how they have been invoking the webmethods:
    <cfscript>
                         ws = CreateObject("webservice", "#qTrim.webServiceName#");
                         ws.setUsername("#qTrim.trimAcct#");
                         ws.setPassword("#qTrim.trimpwd#");
                         wsString=ws.UploadFileCF("#qTrim.webserviceurl#","#objBinaryData#", "#qFiles.Filename#", "Document", "#MetaData#");
                </cfscript>
    As I understand things, the .setUsername and .setPassword correspond to the Windows credentials the CF Admin set when the URL of the .Net webservice was "registered" and given its "name" (for the CreateObject statement above). I have 4 webmethods that are all invoked in this manner and this SOAP protocol works adequately for us. Please note that this ColdFusion web app authenticates anonymous remote internet users by prompting for a username and password and compares them to an application database (i.e. Microsoft calls this "forms authentication"). Because only a few Windows domain accounts are authorized to call this .Net webservice, the above code always uses the same username/password constants and it all works.
    My question involves the newest webmethod added to the .Net webservice. It requires that callers must invoke it as a RESTful service which means it must be invoked by its URL. Here is a snippet of C# code that invokes it from an ASP.NET webclient:
                string r = txtRecordNumber.Text;
                string baseurl = "http://localhost/sdkTrimFileServiceASMX/FileService.asmx/DownloadFileCF?";
                StringBuilder url = new StringBuilder(baseurl);
                url.Append("trimURL="); url.Append(txtFakeURLParm.Text);
                url.Append("&");
                url.Append("TrimRecordNumber="); url.Append(txtRecordNumber.Text);
                Response.Redirect(url.ToString());
    I assume a ColdFusion script could easily build a full URL as above with appended querystring parameters and redirect. Is there some way for the CF code redirecting to a RESTful webservice (by way of its URL) to set the Username and Password to this Windows account mentioned above? When the DownloadFileCF webmethod is hit it must be with the credentials of this special Windows domain account. Can that be set by ColdFusion someway to mimic the result of the SOAP technique (the first snippet above).
    I hope my question is clear and someone can help me make suggestions to my ColdFusion colleagues. Thanks.

    Can you clarify what you mean by "establish a different Windows identity"?  Usually passing identity to a web site or service means adding something to the request's HTTP headers.  This could be a cookie in the case of .NET forms authentication or the "Authorization" header in the case of basic authentication.
    The SOAP web service invocation code you posted does use basic authentication, according to the CF docs "ColdFusion inserts the user name/password string in the authorization request header as a base64 binary encoded string, with a colon separating the user name and password. This method of passing the user name/password is compatible with the HTTP basic authentication mechanism used by web servers."
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/9.0/Developing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbec13a13 -7fe0.html
    If you need to mimic the SOAP techinque you should have basic authentication enabled for your REST service endpoints.
    If your authentication method is different then CF developers will need to add the appropriate HTTP headers to their service calls.  Note that calling a REST service from CF would probably be accomplished using the CFHTTP tag if the service is designed to be consumed by the CF server.

  • Re:  Invalid username and password when logging onto Hyperion workspace

    Hi,
    I have installed Hyperion Reporting and Analysis services.When I attempt to log on to Workspace, I get the following message;
    'You must supply a valid User Name and Password to log onto the system."
    I have tried using the admin and password as username and password.I am able to login to Essbase Administration Services and User Management Console using this account.I have provisioned the user to Hyperion System 9 BI+ .
    Thanks in advance.
    -Sowmya

    I was told that Dsun.net.inetaddr.ttl=0" is required to be passed to the web application server (JVM) that starts Hyperion Shared Services and all System 9 products that depend on Hyperion Shared Services
    Is this correct? I see these errors in the log when I try to log into Workspace in the morning:
    2010-03-24 08:26:03,509 [[ORB=_it_orb_id_1,Pool=1]::id-12] WARN com.hyperion.css.spi.impl.ldap.LDAPProvider.authenticate(Unknown Source) - javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException: ldaps.lirr.org:636; socket closed; remaining name ''

  • Getting username and password with https connection

    I have a webservice that will authenticate the user to run a http://localhost:8080/soap/services/myService, I would like to call this in a form when a user clicks a button.  So I require HTTP/s authentication on the SOAP service, and this brings up a prompt:
    Connection at http://localhost:8080/soap/services/myService requires authentication:
               Username:
               Password:
    Now on myService, I want to verify the username and password they have entered in that security prompt within my orchestration.  How can I retrieve the username/password from the Acrobat security prompt?
    If I need to clarify, please just let me know.
    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi Paul,
    That's sort of what I assumed was happening, but I'm not actually wanting to authenticate for the webservice call it seems.  I'm wanting to capture their username/password via acrobat prompt then push it along to the soap service.  So I guess via script I would want to do:
    1. prompt the user for username/password via acro-prompt (not sure how to do this)
    2. capture their input in variables (again not sure from acro-prompt)
    3. set up soap message (I can do)
    4. send data ("")
    5. receive data on LC side and use the user/password to authenticate in a database table I created ("")
    6. modify a field based on authentication allowed/denied ("")
    It doesn't necessarily have to be an actual authentication box, but I just want a username/password prompt so I can get those values.
    Thanks,
    Alex

  • Supplying username and password to repository via code

    JRV,
    I can understand that, 1stly I am not a scripting guy, I know very very basic of this,
    2ndly, I need help , I am not asking anyone here to write code for me, I have already wrote that but its not doing which its suppose to do,
    check below screen shot, after running suggested script, it has mapped drive ,
    now I do not want to do that, I want just files to copy from that machine to my machine, and want script which I can run from any PC,
    Tried with UNC PATH as well, but not making any difference, its keep mapping that server drive to my computer

    Bill - he still sees that "connection" although it isn't mapped it is attached temporarily.
    P - Log off and log back on and the attached connection will be gone.  It is temporary.   Again - knowing the basics of WIndows would let you know this.
    We have given you all of the answers that are possible.  There is no other way unless you have installed things like PowerShell and PowerShell remoting or an FTP server.
    If you do use a drive it can be just as easily deleted after you have finished the copy.
    Again: "NET USE /?" will tell you all of the options.
    Saying you know nothing is not an excuse for not thinking or looking more deeply into the suggestions made by those trying to help you.  This is not a MIcrosoft support forum or help desk.  It is a forum for admiinistrative scripting and assumes
    that those coming here are technically trained or experienced in the basics of Windows technology.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
