Scripting RGB channels for layers

When you double click on a layer in a Photoshop document, you can set each RGB-channel under "Advanced Blending". How can you script this?
There was quite a similar question regarding CMYK-channels, where MarkWalsh was recording an action. However, I'm still stuck with turning this recorded action code into JavaScript code. And I can't find any hints in the "Photoshop CS4 JavaScript Reference".
http://forums.adobe.com/message/2308538#2308538
Any idea?

Marks code is using the script listener plugin, here is another example...
advancedBlend(false,true,false,80);
function advancedBlend(RED,GREEN,BLUE,opacity) {
  function cTID(s) { return app.charIDToTypeID(s); };
  function sTID(s) { return app.stringIDToTypeID(s); };
    var desc103 = new ActionDescriptor();
        var ref52 = new ActionReference();
        ref52.putEnumerated( cTID('Lyr '), cTID('Ordn'), cTID('Trgt') );
    desc103.putReference( cTID('null'), ref52 );
        var desc104 = new ActionDescriptor();
        desc104.putUnitDouble( sTID('fillOpacity'), cTID('#Prc'), opacity);
        desc104.putBoolean( sTID('blendInterior'), false );
        desc104.putEnumerated( sTID('knockout'), sTID('knockout'), sTID('shallow') );
        desc104.putBoolean( sTID('layerMaskAsGlobalMask'), false );
        desc104.putBoolean( sTID('vectorMaskAsGlobalMask'), false);
            var list1 = new ActionList();
   if(RED){
            list1.putEnumerated( cTID('Chnl'), cTID('Rd  ') );
   }if(GREEN){
   list1.putEnumerated( cTID('Chnl'), cTID('Grn ') );
   }if(BLUE){
            list1.putEnumerated( cTID('Chnl'), cTID('Bl  ') );
        desc104.putList( sTID('channelRestrictions'), list1 );
            var desc105 = new ActionDescriptor();
            desc105.putUnitDouble( cTID('Scl '), cTID('#Prc'), 133.349991 );
        desc104.putObject( cTID('Lefx'), cTID('Lefx'), desc105 );
    desc103.putObject( cTID('T   '), cTID('Lyr '), desc104 );
    executeAction( cTID('setd'), desc103, DialogModes.NO );

  • ? Selecting 2 of 3 RGB channels in to adjust in Levels

    This is a CS4 question (and let me express my ingratitude to Adobe for dropping support for an $1800 set of apps).
    In Photoshop CS4, using a G5 (non-Intel), in the Channels view panel (alongside Layers, etc), when it is displaying RGB, Red, Green,and Blue I am able to shift-click, on say, the Red and Blue channels to sleect only those two. The image still displays in full RGB. When I issue command-L (Levels) I end up with the basic Levels disalog box, and instead of it choosing by default "RGB" for adjusting, I now have "RB" and I can adjust Red and Blue together with the sliders, avoiding the green channel. I can do this in, obviously, three combinations.
    For some reason, when I try this same thing on a friend's Intel Mac with Photoshop CS4 (same!), shift-clicking the Red and Blue channels in the Channels palette chooses them but the image display now displays without the Green channel influencing the image, thus rendering it unusable for adjusting two channels at once.
    I figure that since I am using the same App version on each Mac, maybe there is a setting somewhere I cannot find, or I am forgetting a step on the way to my friend's computer.
    Q: How do I choose 2 channels in the Channels palette while still having my image display in full color, and also be able to choose those two channels for adjustment in the Levels?
    For those of you who are wondering WHY I would want to adjust 2 channels at once, here's an example: an image looks lsightly too yellow, bt ther eis no yellow channel. Yellow is full Red & Green, so, using my method, I can choose both those channels, and reduce the yellow by reduing R and G together.

    You should be able to shift click the red and blue channels, then make the rgb composite visible (make the EYE visible by clicking in that box)

  • Converting named alpha channels to layers

    I have an image file with RGB channels and around 20 other channels with names (not as alph1 ...2 etc). I want to automate the process of making smaller files from the big image by loading these channels as selection. Is there script available for this, or anybody can help me out.
    Rajan

    HOLY CRAP -
    Indeed, I did not have that.
    So I added a channel, and it automatically showed up as Alpha 1...... and my whole image turned red.
    When I turned off the image channel, it went back to normal.
    Am I possessed?

  • RGB channel doesn't show the imported images...

    RGB channel doesn't show the imported images... i can see them in seperate blue, red and green channel but not in RGB...please help....
    (I'm using Photoshop CS6)

          The problem appears in every image I try to open (whatever format or origin). The images I try to import come from rendering in Autodesk 3ds max , from my camera (sony cyber-shot ) or are just stock images... I had no problem with photoshop cs5.1....

  • LR4.1 - Tone Curve - how to adjust individual RGB channels?

    Hi,
    I am having trouble figuring out how to adjust the curve of individual RGB channels.  I am assuming the LR4 Tone Curve works like the PS Curves dialog with the channel dropdown.
    The LR4.1 Help says:
    To make adjustments to individual points on the tone curve, choose an option from the Point Curve menu, click the Edit Point Curve button , and do any of the following:
    Choose an option from the Channel pop-up menu. You can edit all three channels at once, or choose to edit the Red, Green, or Blue channel individually.
    When I click the little icon in the lower right corner of the Tone Curve panel, the panel shrinks so that I don't see the Regions sliders.  If I click again, they are visible again.  I can't find where to select one of the three indvidual channels.
    The Help refers to "the Point Curve menu."  Where is the Point Curve menu?  Is the Point Curve different from the Tone Curve?
    If I right-click (Windows) in the curve dialog, the context menu has a Show Info option.  I click it on/off and don't see any change or any info.  Where should I be looking for info?
    Thanks for any help here.
    John

    Good morning John,
    The point curve is the one without the sliders. The adjustments for the individual channels are only available with
    PV2012. You must be editing a file with PV2010 or 2003. When in PV2012 you will see " Channels:   RGB" below the curve window. Click on the doule triangles following the RGB
    to pick the individual channel.

  • ACK_ channel for handling ALEAUD back to ECC system

    Hi,
    I have created a channel called ACK_Receiver_XI_TO_ECC for sending ALEAUD for all IDOC's that are received from ECC to XI. I also have another receiver IDOC channel for all IDOCs that are sent from XI to ECC. I read in one of the pdf's that when there are multiple receiver IDOC communcation channels, the one starting with Ack_ is chosen to send the ALEAUD. But in my case, in Development and QA system it is correctly picking the Ack_.. channel but in production it is picking the other receiver IDOC communication channel. Any ideas why and how this can be rectified? I have the "Restore original parties.." option checked on the Ack_.. one and not on the other so the selection of the other in production is giving me the "Unable to convert sender service to ALE logical system" error.
    Thanks
    ram

    Hi Ram,
    >I also have another receiver IDOC channel for all IDOCs that are sent from XI to ECC. I read in one of the pdf's that when there are multiple receiver IDOC communcation channels, the one starting with Ack_ is chosen to send the ALEAUD
    I dont think so, the channel will be determined by the Receiver Agreement. If you have more than one what are valid for a message, that is take which is less generic. For example, if you have 2 Receiver Determinations and you type in the first at Receiver Interface a joker (*) and in the second for Receiver Interface a certain value the second Receiver Determination will determine the channel. This is a general rule for IB objects and allows to create generic rules but having exceptions.
    Please compare the Receiver Determinations in the different transport layers.
    "Unable to convert sender service to ALE logical system" means, that your sending system has no value for logical system. Control that at Business Component, Adapter Specific Identifier. If the sender is Business System, correct that at SLD and reimport the system.
    Regards,
    Udo

  • Need iMac G5 (iSight) monitor calibration help (RGB Channels?)

    I understand the need to calibrate my display so that the final print matches what I see on my display. I plan to use the Gretag Macbeth Eye One Display calibrator, which I have already used on my last CRT monitor, with good results. I needed to adjust the Brightness, Contrast and RGB Channels individually to get the profile on the CRT monitor. I cannot seem to find these same controls in the iMac G5. Am I just blind...or do they not exist in this computer? Please help! Thank you, Regina
    iMac G5 iSight   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    You do not have individual channel calculation on an LCD at least not with the G-M software (apple's built-in calbrator does a software calibration for individual channels, but you'll still be closer with the Eye-One Match results). Brightness you can set with the slider in display or by using the keyboard controls. Contrast is in universal access, but you should just leave it alone. The default setting is the correct one for beginning a G-M calculation.
    EDIT Are you aware that there was an update to the G-M software a couple of weeks ago? You can download it from their website.

  • Administration port - network channel for admin traffic

    I am trying to configure a separate channel for Administration traffic on weblogic. I followed the oracle docos and configured the SSL, domain wide admin port, server listen address, ‘admin’ channel.
    The issue is admin traffic in not happening through the newly created channel.
    L2 network is not getting used. I can’t see any activity in the monitoring tab of new Channel. Also the netstat is showing that the port 9101/9102 is getting used on the 192.168.100.218 and not on 10.254.252.849.
    I also tried by setting up the newly created channel weight as 51, but no luck.
    Is JMX connectivity related to admin channel?
    Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi
    For first question the answer is no. With the administration port, you enable the SSL between the admin server and Node manager-managed Servers. You can still use the web console.
    For teh second question, you can use ANT or can use the WLS Scripting ..you can get more details in dev2dev.bea.com

  • Dragging Channels To Layers Help Needed

    Hi Folks,
    I've been working with the tutorial link below to get rid of some stains, While I have no problem working directly on the channels, I'm lost as to what it means to drag the channels onto layers. I can't seem to find a reference as to how to do this. Most likely I don't have to correct term when I'm searching.
    Any help or point to a reference would be a big help.
    "I normally drag the channels out onto layers to make the repairs. This gives much more control, especially if graduated masks are required. On this occasion and for the sake of simplicity I've made the repairs directly on the channels."

    Thanks,
    Chuck

    I think what he useallydoes is to drag the channel to the new channel icon in the bottom of the Channels palette.  This creates a duplicate of the channel draged was a new alpha channel with the name Channel xxx copy. Then they would select that channel and work on it. When done they may replace the original channel with the worked on contents of the copy or blend it in some way.

  • RGB channels Curves adjustment please

    Please, add the possibility to adjust individually each RGB channels in curves....

    Are you saying that this tool is not UseFull ?  Are you Saying that this tool is not usefull in Photoshop too ?
    Look, It's okay for me if you like  to cut your beefsteak with a butter knife....   But LightRoom is a production tool for professionals, and professional need precision and productivity.
    RBG Adjustment  tool is not about getting adjustment more easy, it's about getting precise and  accurate  adjustments in precise tones.  Just try to do all this on the same image in Lightroom, and if you really can, for sure it's not faster as you could do it with the RGB Adjustment curves :
    - increase the blues  in the shadows
    - reduce the blues in  the Highlights
    - reduce the reds in shadows
    - increase the reds in highlights
    - increase the greens in highlights
    I'm looking forward to see how you do that in a fast way LR.

  • How do you set RGB values for colors in Numbers?

    We are trying to set a specific RGB value for the background cell shading in Numbers.   Please help me on how to accomplish this?

    And another way is with short scripts.
    This one gets the RGB values of the background color of a selected cell:
    --get background color of cell -- like a "dropper"
    --if none set, returns 'missing value'
    tell application "Numbers" to tell front document to tell active sheet to tell (first table whose class of selection range is range)
              tell the first cell of the selection range
                        set bkgrRGB to its background color
              end tell
    end tell
    And this one sets the background color of selected cells to the RGB values defined in myBackGroundColor:
    --sets background color of a cell
    property myBackgroundColor : {8607, 65513, 1548}
    tell application "Numbers" to tell the front document to tell active sheet to tell (first table whose class of selection range is range)
              repeat with aCell in the selection range
                        tell aCell
                                  set its background color to myBackgroundColor
                        end tell
              end repeat
    end tell

  • QuickTime Pro Scripting - Audio Channel Mapping

    Does anyone know if there is a way to script audio channel mapping and renaming in QuickTime Pro 7? I deal with a lot of 5.1 audio that needs to be channel mapped and renamed to its specific channel  for iTunes uploading. I'm currently doing this task manually in QuickTime Pro, but I'd love to know if there is a possibility to automate this task. I'm new to scripting, and its been very helpful with a lot of my day to day tasks, but I can't seem to figure this one out. Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks!

    Hello
    A QT file contains sound tracks and a sound track contains audio channels.
    If you mean your QT file has 4 sound tracks each of which contains one audio channel marked as "Mono", you may try the following script. Please make sure you have complete backup of files in advance, for this script will overwrite the files.
    Script is basically the same as the one posted in the following thread except for the channel_layouts_map definition.
    Quicktime Pro Applescript - Assign audio channels

    Notes.
    * You need to have QuickTime Player 7 Pro. QuickTime X Player is useless for this.
    * You need to enable GUI scripting.

  • Error: Couldn't find delivery channel for message

    Hi All,
    In our production environment, we sometime get the following error (Channel Audit Log):
    2009-01-12 15:08:47 Error Unable to find channel ID
    2009-01-12 15:08:47 Error Delivery of the message to the application using connection SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Couldn't find delivery channel for message: 496b9e98-9466-0109-e100-8000ac10a218.
    2009-01-12 15:08:47 Error The message status set to NDLV.
    This particular interface runs around 100 times a day without any issues, however around once or twice  a month we get this error.
    This is a synchronous interface.
    Could be because of number of threads alloted for Synchronous messages in Visual Admin.
    Thanks.

  • No script engine supported for 'JScript' error in OBIEE 11G ibots

    Infrastructure: 64 bit OBIEE 11.1.1.5 on 64 bit Red-Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6
    We tried using *.java to export the delivery content of an 'Agent' and place it in a shared folder on Windows.
    We are able to use the .java file directly in putty and it works fine in creating a folder and copying the file from source to target, but when we put the same script as part of the actions in the 'Agent' properties, its fails with the error "[nQSError: 66023] No script engine supported for 'JScript'". The e-mail is triggered and the attachment is delivered fine.
    We tried the same with a *.js file. The error is the same. I found people using *.js scripts and they say it worked for them at Re: How to send the content of an agent (PDF Report) to local machine in 11g
    But I am not sure what are the other settings that should be done. The error seems very basic and fundamental and has something to do with java interpreter or something.
    Any help if you have implemented the same, would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    That example in the link shows creating an action at the end of 'Agent'. I am not sure if that is what the user meant by 'create an action'. If the user meant to create an 'action', how does and where we call that action at the end of an 'Agent'?
    I did try creating an action by updating the 'UserScript.js' file, but the moment i update the file with a custom function, the server doesnot recognise the UserScript.js file anymore and i cannot even use the default functions in UserScript.js file.
