Scroll-bar poorly visible

I would appreciate it very much if the vertical and horizontal slide-bars were better distinguished against the background with a color or a good visible sign on it. very often I have to search where my side-bar is left

JScrollPane - scroll bar not visible

I'm writing a graphical chat application where the user presses buttons to insert images into their message. The buttons reside in a JPanel with a GridLayout. As i have more buttons than can be physically seen on the screen I'm trying to use a JScrollPane encapsulated in the JPanel so that the user can scroll down the button list to select appropriate symbols. The problem i'm having is that the scroll bars do not appear so the user can only use symbols which are visible. Here is the code for what i'm trying to acheive.
buttonPanel.setLayout(new GridLayout(9,3));
buttonPanel.add(Button1);
buttonPanel.add(Button2);
buttonPanel.add(Button3);
buttonPanel.add(Button4);

PLEASE HELP - this is for my third year dissertation and is the last bit I need to do before it is finished.

First, you need to add your panel to the JScrollPane object. Then you add the JScrollPane object to the frame, not the panel itself.
As for setting the scrollbars of the JScrollPane, you could try setVerticalScrollbarPolicy() and setHorzontalScrollbarPolicy().

Scroll Bar Not Visible

New look utilizes a dark gray scroll bar on a black background. Older monitors (non HD) do not show it at all and tablet PC can't be viewed in sunlight. Really Spotify you didnlt think about making it a more contrasting color.

SOMEBODY gave SOMEBODY all artsy and crap WAY TOO MUCH power in this decision. And it's taken OVER A YEAR TO FIX because it costs too much or not enough people complaining. It functionally works and they don't realize HOW MANY TIMES I GIVE UP and just kill the SPOTIFY session out of frustration... I can't see to add a song to a certain playlist because HEAVEN HELP ME I have to find the scroll. so.....options? Clearly complaining here is NOT helping. So, seems we can always UNINSTALL and gripe on the way out. That's my next plan if this continues. Software without customer service won't survive. And there's plenty of other software NOT tied to facebook-google-yahoo-government tracking software ... They read these blogs looking for pitfalls they can avoid and can use Spotify's faults to springboard off of for a marketing campaign. Not hard to figure where this is heading.

Dynamic scroll bar not visible

I created my text in a text file (saved as testtext.txt),
then in Flash I added a dynamic text box (instance name: testtext)
and dragged a scrollbar component (instance name: ttscroll) onto
it. I then added this action script to the first frame:
ttscroll._visible = (testtext.maxscroll >1);
loadVariables("testtext.txt", this);
The text shows up fine, and scrolls if I put my mouse in the
text box and drag down. However, the scroll bar doesn't show up.
How do I get this to work?

PS Due to company policies I'm not allowed to download and
install anything, so I have to stick with what comes with Flash, so
please don't recommend I download someone else's scrollbar.

My first guess is that you are testing for maxScroll before
the text is
actually loaded, so the test result is false.
You could use a listener for the loading function and let the
listener's
onLoadInit() event set the scrollbar.
Another option is to use a textArea component. It has an
automatic
scrollbar.

Scroll bar visible but not able to scroll in custom screen for IW21

Hi,
We are using custom tab (screen exit) in transaction for creating notifications (TCode IW21). Two subscreens are configured to be embedded in the tab, combined area of which is exceeding screen size vertically. The scroll bar is visible in the tab but is not able to scroll using mouse scroll, but can be dragged up and down.
Does anyone know how to make it scrollable or make the scroll bar visible at application level (not in tab) and make it working?

On Mac the scroll bars can be hidden and only have them show when you scroll the page so you can see the current scroll position.
The idea is that a touch pad is used that doesn't require the scroll bars to be visible and thus have more screen estate for the browsing area.
You can make the scroll bars always visible:
System Preferences > General > Show Scroll Bar > Choose "Always"
You can try to delete the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Email fonts have changed and scroll bar missing

Not sure how, but when using Firefox and opening my email all my fonts have changed to 8pt size and all regular font (i.e., not bold for unread msgs) and the scroll bar is missing.
When I open email using another browser, all email settings are consistent/normal as they were before and the scroll bar is visible/in position.

ITunes 11 scroll bar trouble

Hi folks,
this concerns iTunes 11.1.3 for Mac: when in the iTunes store to view my purchased items, I cannot use the left scroll bar (artist listing). The said scroll bar is visible only when the pointer rests on an item - the moment I approach the scroll bar with the pointer in order to scroll up or down the list, it simply disappears. Does anyone know a fix for this bug? Please, let me know. Thanks!

You don't have to scroll with your arrow directly on the bar. Scroll works when your arrow is positioned in this area:

How to view scroll bar in filmstrip view in aperture 3.2.2?

I have aperture 3.2.2 and normally work in filmstrip mode. In the documentation I notice a scroll bar underneath the filmstrip, allowing you to scroll quickly through the images. When I open aperture I see no such scroll bar. Underneath the filmstrip I have keyword controls, but no scroll bar. I have a couple of arrows that allow me to move one image to left or right, but no scroll bar. Is there a simple way to be able to have the scroll bar be visible? Thanks, Ric

Ok, It now has suddenly appeared. I switched between the viewing modes several times, and now the scroll bar is appearing. It took a long time (and many switches) for this to work, but now it works fine.

Intermittent issue with missing scroll bars

Occasionally I will open a website and the content will flow below the bottom edge but no scroll bar is available to scroll the content. Page up and down buttons as well as arrow keys will scroll the page. When this happens a page reload will not rectify the issue, nor will opening in a new tab and going to the same URL. However, a close of the browser and then going back to the target URL normally resolves the issue and the scroll bars are visible and functional.
FF version 3.6.12 on Windows 7 Ultimate. No specific sites, but experienced this on cnn.com, time.com and morningstar.com over the last couple of days.
These are three of my most visited sites and I had not experienced this problem prior to the last update to my current version. I also had a Java update on the same day I did the FF update, so I can not with any certainty pinpoint FF as the culprit.

Try this. From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Empty Cache. Relaunch Safari. If the behavior persists, from the Safari Menu Bar (top of your screen) click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab.
Click the Show Cookies button. Delete all cookies related to; fantasy football / Yahoo.
Now click the Autofill tab in the preferences window. Click the Edit button next to: Other forms. Remove all.
Relaunch Safari.
If that didn't make a difference, click your Apple Menu (top left corner of your screen) then scroll down and click Software Updates. Make sure your system software is up to date.
Also, if you have any Safari third party add-ons that control scroll bars, that could be part of the problem.

I do not think that we can effect the scroll bars. If the size of the screen/dynpro is sufficient to display the entire table control then there should be no scroll bar. If the screen is smaller than the table control then the GUI automatically displays the scroll bars (which makes perfect sense).

The scroll bars are difficult for me to differentiate from their background. Can I change their colour or darkness to make them more visible?

Firefox uses the native scroll bars by default.<br />
You can try to select another window theme in your Linux distribution that has better scroll bar appearance or see if installing a Firefox theme helps.

Front pannel scroll bar get disabled(not visible)

Hi,
I am facing some strange problem with Lab View front pannel. I am doing some expriement with PictRing vi which is in Ring&Enum. Then while doing this I lost my scroll bar(both vertical & horizontal) from front pannel. But it's present in block diagram of same vi. I deleted the PictRing vi and restarted my pc considering it may visible the scroll bar but it's not working. If I create new vi their on front pannel scroll bar is appearing. What might be a problem with my vi?

What version of LV are you using? Can you post your VI? I would be happy to take a look see.
Is it possible that you turned scrollbars off?
Got to VI Properties>>Window Appearance>>Customize and make sure that the checkboxes next to Vertical/Horizontal Scrollbars are turned on.
If you are using multiple panes you may have to turn scrollbars on individually. You do this by right-clicking on a splitter and selecting the visiblity of the scrollbars on a per-pane basis.
Finally, if you have set the option "Fit Control to Panel/Pane" this can also turn off your scrollbars. Again, you can just reenable them via the VI Properties box or the splitter popups.

I am working on a Tab Canvas which has a parent block with 2 child Blocks, I am able to hide all items in a child block depend on the value of Parent block but not been able to hide Scroll Bar.
If any one can give me some ideas. would be a great help.

perhabs you can create an item which is disabled and no level and not visible and has the same width and heigth of the scrollbar or bigger and if you want to set the toolbar not visible set the item visible.
