Scroll Chart Without Zooming

Hello,
I want to scroll my Line chart but without zooming the chart is it possible if so how can i achieve this ?My second question is how can i enable and disable this scroll bar with the help of two buttons one for enabling scrollbar and second for disabling.

Hello,
Thank you for your efforts sir,
Zooming for Line chart is OK But i dont want to apply any scroolbar or zooming to my Column chart that is what i want. I want to aplly scrollbar and zooming conditionly.
If it is Line chart scroll and zooming will be applied as in your code i.e by using below code and code helped me too in understanding but and if it is column chart then no scroll bar and zooming should be applied
Chart1.ChartAreas(0).CursorX.AutoScroll = True
Chart1.ChartAreas(0).AxisX.ScaleView.Zoom(0, 200)
Chart1.ChartAreas(0).AxisX.ScaleView.SmallScrollSize = 5
Chart1.ChartAreas(0).AxisX.ScaleView.Zoomable = False
Chart1.ChartAreas(0).AxisX.ScrollBar.ButtonStyle = DataVisualization.Charting.ScrollBarButtonStyles.SmallScroll
Chart1.ChartAreas(0).CursorX.AutoScroll = False
'Chart1.ChartAreas(0).CursorX.IsUserEnabled = True
'Chart1.ChartAreas(0).CursorX.IsUserSelectionEnabled = True
'Chart1.ChartAreas(0).AxisX.ScaleView.Zoomable = True
'Chart1.ChartAreas(0).AxisX.ScrollBar.IsPositionedInside = True

the graphics in the above website does not respond to scrolling, panning or zooming gestures. Is there a way to make it happen? without that, major parts of the graphics cannot be viewed.

    thanks.

    thanks, aandras.
in this art there is an interactive graphic which you can access either by 1) clicking on the graphic towards the middle of the article on the left side just above the picture of senator Reid, or 2) clicking on the tab near the start of the article labelled "interactive graphics".
for me, either way will load that page but the page is not scrollable, zoomable nor pannable. that page actually has a set of 10 different graphics you can select via buttons in the left. oddly these buttons work and actually switch the graphics. but most of them are too large to be displayed on the playbook screen which therefore have to be scrolled/panned but that does not work for me. the page, other thank those buttons, acts as if it is frozen.

  • I would like to change the colour of bars in a chart without losing the underlying default texture associated with my chosen theme. None of the 3D textured fills offered in "Chart Colors" match the textured fill of the theme. Any suggestions?

I would like to change the colour of bars in a chart without losing the underlying default texture associated with my chosen theme. None of the 3D textured fills offered in "Chart Colors" match the textured fill of the theme. Any suggestions?

Thanks Gary, but no, that does not work. First of all, I can't select each bar individually. When I click on one bar, all three bars are selected.
When I use "inspector > graphic" I have 5 fill options: none, color, gradient, image, tinted image. The default selection for the theme I'm using is image. What I would like to use for my charts is the same image that this theme uses for table headers. It has the same texture as the chart, but a different colour. Using anything but image or tinted image removes the texture from the fill.
I have found I can do one of two things. I can select tinted image from the fill selections in "inspector > graphic" or I can select 2D Image Fills from "inspector > chart > chart colors". The first choice does not allow me to match the table header colour because it only allows me to apply a tint to the existing colour and adjust its opacity. The existing colour has too much influence on the fill, so I can't find an RGB adjustment that will match the table header colour. The image selections from "inspector > chart > chart colors" do not quite match the colour or the texture. Again, I can try to tint the image, but I still can't get it to match and the texture is not the same anyway.
The image I want to use obviously exists in the software as it is an attribute of the theme, but for some reason is inaccessible. The other angle I have tried is to edit the theme, but I can't figure out how to do that either.

  • How can I print  the figures (text) in a chart WITHOUT a cast shadow?

    hi all,
in charts (line, column, etc.) i want display the figures (plott points) without cast shadows. Although the cast shadow option in the format bar isn´t aktiv, there is always a lighlty cast shadow when i´m printig the document and in my opinion it looks bad.
isn´s it possible to print the figures (text) of a column chart without a cast shadow? btw: the same effect in pages.
    thx a lot

    Hi rudiRocket,
    Welcome to Numbers discussions.
Yes I see what you're talking about, never noticed it. To remove the shadow I tried numerous fonts but, still the shadow. Let's hope someone else has a better answer. Be aware folks on these Discussion boards are, as yourself end users not Apple employees.
In the mean time please read the below instructions:
Send feedback directly to the Numbers team for enhancement requests: at the top of your screen to the right of the blue Apple please click "Numbers" > "Provide Numbers Feedback". Explain in detailed what you've found. This makes your request known to the Numbers team directly; don't expect to hear back from them. I've sent many as well.
Let's hope the next version of iWork incorporates many of the requested enhancements.
Thank you in advance for doing that.
Again, welcome to Numbers Discussions, have fun here.
    Sincerely,

  • Scrolling Issues with Zoom

I recently got a new HP computer and installed photoshop CS4 onto it. The irritating thing about it is when im using alt+scroll wheel to zoom in and out as soon as i get close enough to the image that side scroll bars appear the alt+mousewheel will no longer work. It simply scrolls up and down and i need to grab the zoom tool in order to do anything else afterwards. Im pretty sure this is a conflict with my OS or something but has anyone else had this issue or know a way to resolve it? HP computer with vista 64 home. Any help is appreciated because its just irritating me.

I would look at all the extra software that HP puts on their computers. There have been a few posters on here who bought new computers that discovered some pre-loaded software was conflicting with CS4.

  • Can I use the mouse scroll wheel for zooming the timeline?

    Howdy...
As a recent convert from Vegas, one of the best features that I miss is using the mouse scroll wheel to zoom into and out of the timeline..
Anyone know a way I can set this up in FCP6?
    Thanks...
    -Ben

    Yes.
(I know I'm gonna get flamed by the pros here who will advise NEVER to use third party plug-ins, but... I've been a heavy user of FCP for years and NEVER had any problem with this, so here goes:)
Install USB Overdrive, and program your mouse with:
    - wheel_up to cmd+plus (=zoom in) and
    - wheel_down to cmd+minus (=zoom out).
I actually use clickedwheelup and clickedwheeldown for this zooming in and out, keeping the plain vanilla wheel_up and wheel_down for, well, up and down (or clip_left and clip_right on the timeline).
Nice thing is, it then works in the Viewer and Canvas to zoom in and out, too.

I'm trying to draw a candlestrick chart without using the

You may find the floating columns do what you want here

    or possibly the
vertical line type will work for you.

  • Why does Adobe Reader use the scroll wheel to zoom in/out now, rather than actually scroll?

Why does Adobe Reader use the scroll wheel to zoom in/out rather than actually, um, scroll? I can't find anywhere to change this function in Preferences, either.

I had the same problem on my Windows 8 touch screen laptop.  It was driving me crazy! Every time I tried to scroll a page down, the program would zoom the page!  Made reading an ebook difficult.
    I finally found the solution:
Under Edit select Preferences - General
Uncheck "Make Hand Tool Use mouse-wheel zooming".

  • How to have rotated axis labels in charts without embedding fonts?

    Hi all,
I am trying to have slant/rotated axis labels in flex charts to avoid clutter in cases of large number of sample points. It was fairly easy to do this using 'labelRotation' method in AxisRenderer but this involved embedding fonts [ causes my swf to increase in size by atleast a 100KB which in my case is very high ]. My question is.. Can this be done without embedding the fonts? Maybe with the use of labelRenderer? Any alternatives that would solve the purpose without increase in swf size are also most appreciated as I ve been struggling with this for quiet a while.
    Thanks a ton,
    Siva

    Please check LabVIEW\Examples\picture\demos.llb\polar plot demo.vi
But it has no zooming and cursors.
Maybe you can modify that example and use XY plot instead of picture control. I mean for each function plot on the picture, you generate another function to replace it and generate XY data pairs.

  • Use scroll wheel to zoom on Mac OSX?

    Hi,
I have recently switched to a Macbook from Windows. On Windows (if I remember correctly) you could zoom in and out by pressing "Control" and the using the scroll wheel on the mouse. It seems this is not working on the Macbook. Is there a way to enable this? I know you can use the pinch gestures on the track pad but I much prefer the scroll wheel.

If you mean by clicking on the arrow, bringing up the actual slider.  No, that doesn't work.  I've tried clicking various parts of the slider itself to no avail.
Have tried on numerous different adjustments, labels, filters in case that it only works on some.

    Problem solved
I just had to rearrange the order of the captions, and now
it's ok. I kept basically the same order as it was when the problem
occured: slide, mouse layer, zoom area and captions.
    Cheers!

Later edit... thanks Rick for your feedback... seen your post

  • Using scroll wheel to zoom timeline

I would like to do zooming with the scroll wheel, rather than taking my hand off the mouse to do CMD+/- or having to move my pointer away from the timeline and use the scroll widget at the bottom of the screen.  Can someone tell me if there's any way to assign zooming to the scroll wheel?

I don't know about a scroll wheel, and maybe this is not what you expected to hear, but you should try a trackpad. Zooming in and out, moving the timeline left or right, and more, are so easily done with gestures that are common to most mac applications. The trackpad in mac laptops, and the Magic Trackpad, are to me far more effective and ergonomic than any mouse.
Edit: Oh - and you already have it! (your profile says Macbook Air...)

  • How can I Scroll Down without losing the lightbox in the center of the screen?

I already tried with different slideshow presets with no results.
If I click in the first photo the slideshow screen remains on the top, It seems that it doesn't scroll down with me. I would like to slidedown and click into the last photo without losing the lightbox in the center.
I already ask for help by chat, but you didn't answer how i expect.
here the link of the example:
    FOR MUSE STAFF

    Hi
This is not possible directly using the widgets, as you would need customize this where the page scrolls but lightbox should still be centered.
Another way of doing would be aligning the images horizontally on page with smaller version and then use lightbox effect , where the clicked image will still be on page but user can click on other images.
    Thanks,

  • Interactive image without zoom

I'd like to make an interactive image where you can click the labels without the image zooming or moving. I tried to do so by using the same zoom percentage for each label, but the image is still moving when you click. Any suggestions?

Saw this too. Are you talking about movement when you first tap a label in the widget?  If so, the movement is probably occurring because of the difference between the zoom level/position associated with the Default view and the zoom levels/positions of the new views that you've added (especially if you edited the existing numbered views instead of replacing them).  I found a workaround which might help you. Here are some steps:
    1.  Insert an Interactive widget and drop your image into it.
    2.  Show the Interaction panel of the Widget inspector (note that there are 3 views:  Default plus two views).
    3.  Delete all existing views (except Default) by clicking the '-' button under the Views list in the inspector.
    4.  Now, set the desired view (position and zoom) for the Default view (this step is optional).
    5.  Add more views by clicking the '+' button below the Views list.
Note:  Any new views you add (by clicking the '+' button in the inspector) will have the exact same view as the Default view.  As a result, when your widget is viewed you should not see any image movement as all views will have the same zoom and positioning as the Default view.
    Hope this helps!
