Scroll text to bottom

I have imported text into a dynamic text field with a scroll
bar.
How would I go about starting the imported text at the bottom
rather than having to scroll to the bottom?
Normal:
----------------- window top
text 1
text 2
text 3
----------------- window bottom
text 4
text 5
Instead I would like:
text 1
text 2
----------------- window top
text 3
text 4
text 5
----------------- window bottom
Sorry if i explained it badly.

You can set the scroll of the text field to the maxscroll
value of the
text field. You have to wait until the text has downloaded
and populated
the text field before you can change its scroll value.

  • Possible to show bottom of scrolling text first when icon is displayed?

    Hi,
    Does anyone know if it is possible to show the bottom of
    scrolling text when the display comes up? For instance, let's say
    you have 20 lines of text in a scrolling display, but it only has
    room for 10. By default, Authorware shows the top 10 lines in the
    scrolled display, not the bottom 10. I want to show the bottom
    10--is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Edwin

    Hi,
    Well, I decided to have the most current information at the
    top of the display. For instance, if it were a chat, the most
    current chat info would be on top instead of on bottom. That fixed
    the problem adequately.

  • Space appears after text when you scroll to the bottom

    i am a newbie flash designer. a client has asked me to make modifications in a flash file used on his website. it is flash 8 actionscript. i am currently working on the same and would appreciate your help. the client has given me 'divisions.swf' file which i decompiled using sothink decompiler 4.5 build 90120 to '~divisions original.fla'. the xml folder resides in the same folder as ~divisions original.fla. it contains divisions.xml. you can download these files at http://rapidshare.com/files/257100523/space_after_text_when_scroll_to_bottom.zip
    i discovered a problem - if you view 'divisions.swf' - when you click on 'retail visual solutions'and scroll to the bottom, you can see that there is no space after the text. the end of the text aligns with the end of the scrollbar. but when you click on eyesite, and scroll to the bottom, you can see that there is space after the text. the end of the text does not align with the end of the scrollbar.
    please help me to resolve this problem.
    my additional questions are:
    has the creator of the swf file used some unique scrollbar code or is this scrollbar provided in flash itself. in this case, i can read a tutorial to understand it better.
    i have given 'is correct - no space at bottom of text.jpg' and 'is incorrect - space at bottom of text.jpg' to further explain my query.
    please tell me if i have explained my problem properly or further clarifications are needed.

    Try changing the code in frame 16 to be:
    stop ();
    var tString = xmlObj.Options.Option[2]._value;
    tString = tString.split("\r\n").join("\r").split("\n\r").join("\r");
    txt3.htmlText = tString;
    The scrollbar is a component that may or may not have been concocted by the original designer.  In any case it does utilize the FScrollbar feature of Flash.  You can read about it via the link below:

  • Firefox scrolls to the bottom of the page when I press the down arrow, instead of moving through the text.

    When I press the down arrow on Firefox, it scrolls to the bottom of the screen. I'm almost always just trying to move the vertical scroll bar down one or two picas (or however you measure it). This didn't used to happen until about 2009. Any suggested fixes?

  • Fade scrolling text in and out at the bottom and the top

    Hello,
    I'm new to Final Cut Pro X previously I have used Final Cut Express. Making the scrolling text fade out at the top of the page as it scrolls is easy in Final Cut Express. I've spent over 1 hr & cannot find how to make the scrolling text fade out in Final Cut Pro X, has anyone any ideas?.
    Thanks JohnH

    you can drag the Mask-Handles to the very end of the screen:

    You can set the Feather value BEYOND the sliders max. '100'

    type the value, or 'drag'n slide' by clicking with the mouse onto the value … - as in most FCPX and Motion5 values.

  • Problem with Java scrolling text window on Mac OS

    The Java scrolling text window created by AWT "TextArea" scrolls in the normal way from the top on Windows, whereas it scrolls from the bottom on the Mac OS. That is, the text file is first displayed from the bottom on Mac, so that the user has to scroll to the top of the file each time a new page is opened, which is a very nuisance. Have you run into this problem and do you know how to over-ride the Mac OS default? Many thanks.

    TextAreas suck in general, this has been discussed many time in the forum. As a duct-tape fix, you might play around with setCaretPosition() after inserting your new text. Good luck

  • Touch 2nd Gen can not scroll text box down

    I have a 2nd gen Ipod Touch and want to login to a public wifi which requires accepting a text box Condition & Terms.
    It says: Please scroll to the bottom of the terms and click the checkbox to show agreement before clicking on the 'Accept' botton to access the system.
    My question is: there is no way I can focus on the text box only and scroll down. Please advise. Thanks,

    Nope, you're done.  To get  iCloud you need at least a 3rd generation Touch.  And, you CANNOT upgrade your 2nd Gen to make it a 3rd Gen..

  • Fading garbage mask with scrolling text

    Hello,
    I have some scrolling text which I have added a 4 point garbage mask to, I want the text to fade at the top of the screen where it disappears, instead of how it disappears now, it goes from totally visable to 100% gone, and looks unprofessional.
    To clarify a little bit more : There is an image at the top of the screen, so I want the
    text to scroll from the bottom of the screen, to the top of the screen, and fade away just as it almost hits the bottom of the image.
    Thanks for any advice on how to adjust this
    Dave.

    I would use Pixelan SpiceMaster for that. Imagine the shot below to be your scrolling text, when it gets to the top of the screen it turns transparent and disappears.
    When you combine this you can use scrolling titles like these with an increasing transparency at the top, like this one, where the top transparency was not yet added, but could very easily be made with SpiceMaster.

  • Keynot '08: "Move" Action to scroll text

    Sorry for this stupid question, but I'm baffled as to how to use the Action "Move". I have a block of text I want to scroll from the bottom to the top of the page. The little "Option Click the Selected Path" "hint" just isn't very helpful.
    Can anyone explain how to do this (or point me to a tutorial or other link to explain these actions? I'm usually pretty good with these things, but must say Apple didn't make them very intuitive.
    Thanks!

    Page 112-115 Keynote'09 User Guide covers basic object movement using builds. Or would you like me to summarise?!

    I have a version 7.0.4.  I can't connect to the server.  My capacity is 13.5  with 10.4 GB available.  Diagnostics and usage data, when scrolled to the bottom, tells me I have low memory.How cani fix this?

    Clear Safari, close all apps on the iPad and reboot. Then see if you can connect.
    Go to Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data.
    Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to each app then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    If you still can't connect to the internet, you need to do some more troubleshooting with the network connection, but report back with more details if that doesn't work and don't just repeat the question in the text box are that you have to describe the problem. That serves no purpose at all.

  • Editing scrolling text

    hi on earth do we make a decent scrolling title with the tools given to us with FCP? I use fcp's "scrolling text" and it looks fine. BUT i can't change individual lines to a different color - it changes all the color. ie i have white scrolling text and i need one line to be yellow so i change it and it changes the whole page to yellow.
    I tried the onboard boris titler and i can edit individual lines with diff color, font etc BUT the text scrolls jittery even with the deflicker turn ON. I've never been able to get boris to work for me on scrolling text. And yes, i'm looking at it on a studio HD monitor (pana 17") SDI with an hd timeline.
    thanks for any input.

    If you have FCS2, then your best bet might be to use Motion.
    Quoting ThatChineesYouth:
    Type up your credits in Text editor... spaces and paragraphs as necessary.
    In motion, select the text tool and click in the canvas. Then copy and paste the text
    into the text box.. then Add Behavior>Text Animations>Scroll up.
    then adjust the position off set till the text is off screen to the bottom...
    then go to the end time and adjust the rate till your text has scrolled up off screen...
    and there you have it... I think -_-'

  • Scrolling text is jumpy/pulsing when compressed

    I'm making end credits using the scroll up text animation behavior in Motion 2.1.2. Whenever I compress it for DVD Studio Pro and insert it the text looks terrible. It is pulsing in and out and is hardly readable. I found a few other people who have had this problem, but no solutions that have helped.
    I have done credits using the scrolling text in Final Cut without much problem, but for this project I need motion in order to use text of different sizes.
    Here are my specs:
    Project Properties - NTSC DV; 720x480; Pixel Aspect Ratio: NTSC D1/DV - 0.90; Field Order: Lower First (Even); Frame Rate: 29.97; Background color is black (0%)
    Render Settings - Motion Blur Samples: 8; Shutter Angle: 360; Output Antialiasing Method: Best
    I used Export using Compressor: DVD Best Quality 90 minutes 4:3; I tried using the Color+Alpha and just Color in the Output options. Premultiply alpha and Use field render are both checked. Use motion blur is not checked.
    Most of the text is Geneva Regular 14 pt font. I have tried completely white as well as setting the RGB sliders all at 235 with no difference. I also tried using a black outline with no difference. The scroll up behavior has a rate of 52.
    Please help! It took me forever to put these credits together and I don't want to start from scratch with another program. Making the text bigger helps a little bit but I would really like to keep it the same size for timing and format sake. However, I can't keep it like this because it looks terrible both on an Apple Cinema display and on a tv after burned to DVD.
    Thanks!

    My first guess would be the font itself. Geneva is a pretty thin font and it's not likely to look good interlaced and on a TV. Can you try a thicker font?
    I'd also turn off Field Rendering. It looked much worse with it on than off. Keep Frame Blending though.

  • HT201109 Final Cut Pro 10.1 crashes with Motion 5.1 custom Scrolling text and Graphics titles

    Dec 29, 2013 1:33 PM
    found out why Final Cut 10.1 won't load my custom titles without crashing. When scrolling text in Motion 5.1 if you ad a graphic to scroll with the text Final Cut 10.1 will crash. If I remove the graphic in Motion and then load it into Final Cut 10.1 it will work.
    So Graphics and scrolling do not work. The graphics are .jpg, .png, .tiff, .psd. I don't know how to fix it. Hopefully someone out there does.

    Thanks Tom for the advice. I have four external hard disks, all of them formatted with Mac OS Extended Journaled. On all devices (2TB) I have more than half free space. They are connected either with Thunderbolt or USB3 cables. Different manufactures:  LaCie, Toshiba, WD and Samsung. I face the same crash problem if I connect a UBS drive 16GB or a any other device to the USB ports including the Sony Video camera connected with a USB1 cable. Same problem on ALL my computers! To work properly, I have to disconnect all USB devices and work only with internal hard disks. I also tried to format the MacbookPro (erasing the partitions with a new installation) but I have the same problem. I really lost hope...

  • How do you add a scroll bar to a scrolling text field in a folio?

    I've created iPhone and iPad folios with multiple pages. There are scrolling text fields on each page. The fields scroll as designed, but the scroll bars on the  text fields only appear while actually scrolling. Is there a way to have them always visible so the user knows there is more hidden info? The only bars that are constantly visible are the page scroll bars.  Thanks!

    Why is your content pane null? I thought the content pane was the top-level in all windows? If you want complete control over the location of a list box, you want to set the layout of the content pane to null... the way I almost always do this is the other way around, to create my own panel and use setContentPane instead:
    JPanel content = new JPanel(null);
    JScrollPane scroll = new JScrollPane(myListBox);
    scroll.setBounds(380, 10, 500, 500);
    content.add(scroll);
    setContentPane(content);
