Scroller horizontal flash builder 4.6

Hi,
I would like to realize an horizontal list that could be sliding with gesturepan or Other.
The list elements can be clickable and open a new view
Group, List ..... I don't know.
Could you give me a direction or examples.
Thanks in advance
Regards

OK solved this one. Download sdk update from gaming page and reset within Fash Builder for examples that use Air 3.2.
Works well. Apologies.

  • How to solve the flash Builder 4.6 scroll view and textinput  display problem?

I have a dynamic form application which worked well on flash builder 4.5, having display problems in flash builder 4.6 now. What I did is adding
TextInput objects  to a scroll view and set the texts for them dynamically. Everything is fine after the screen loaded. But if I scroll down, sometimes the texts will be placed in wrong positions. I attached the screen copy of the wrong display. Does anybody know how to solve this problem? Thanks.

Check out the two threads below (if you have not already). I have not tried it but aeonus describes an approach that made me think of something that might work ... It is a workaround but, what if you have a text field (txtA) with the skin that does not allow soft keyboard selection, but does scroll correctly, and on the onClick event of that text field, you dynamically cover it with another text field (txtB) that does allow soft keyboard selection, (but does not scroll properly) and trigger the keyboard. After you get the entry from the user, set the value of txtA and destroy txtB ... leaving you (theoretically) with properly scrolling text fields. If you have a lot of those in your app, you might want to write a component that implements that behavior.
"Create a dynamic textfield, and on click, invoke create a StageText instance at the same location as the textfield (by setting the StageText.viewPort property)
Finally, set StageText.softKeyboardType to "numeric" and call StageText.assignFocus();"

  • Flash Builder is an Unprofessional Beta

In Spring of 2011, I was very excited at the fact that we would be using Adobe Flash Builder 4 in a semester-long software engineering class project at a leading university.  I had used many Adobe products in the past and was very happy with them, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver.  I had also been wanting to learn ActionScript/Flex, and this project would give me the opportunity.  However, after extensive use of Flash Builder, I have realized that this product was the biggest let down since Windows Vista.
There were several people working on the same project using Subversion.  In addition, we would have a lab session once a week using different computers, so it was necessary to frequently import projects into Flash Builder.  Importing Flex Projects was the most annoying and time consuming aspect of many.  Firstly, when one selects the import option, a dialog is presented and is positioned mostly off screen.  It is necessary for one to drag the dialog to the screen manually every time.  In addition, the path of recent projects is not saved, so one must manually navigate to the proper directory each time.  Since there were so many problems with projects falling apart, many imports were necessary.  It is necessary to manually navigate through the long hierarchy of directories to reach the project.  This is very time consuming and unproductive.
After the import, the project will not run because of some problem finding the HTML files.  It was necessary to create new projects from scratch and do a lot of copying/pasting until a team member directed me to delete the html-template directory.  I am not sure how he came across this tip, as I had searched the Internet for solutions to no avail.  One more tedious step is necessary.  The html-template directory needs to be recreated, and the only way, at least that I see, is to rebuild the project, then after the error appears in the Problems window, right-click the error and select Recreate HTML Templates.  That’s quite a bit of work, and maybe there should be an explicit option to recreate HTML templates that’s not buried as a right-click option in the errors list.
This leads to the next problem.  Errors do not appear in the code until the file is saved.  Every time I type in a new statement, it is necessary to save the file in order to see if there are any errors.  This is very counterproductive.  In addition, it would be much more productive to add a feature in the code hints that would allow for mouse wheel scrolling.  It takes much longer to navigate through the hints without this feature.
Another problem related to importing projects is with executing it.  Sometimes after importing a new project, a dialog displays that says that it may be necessary to restart the browser.  This turned out to be a huge problem, as I frequently have many, many Firefox tabs/windows open at a given time.  It is very unproductive to restart Firefox several times until the project finally imports correctly.  Sometimes it will work without restarting, however, and I cannot pinpoint any differences between when it works and when it doesn’t.  This may be related to the Flash plugin as opposed to Flash Builder.
This leads to another problem.  For testing purposes, sometimes it is necessary to locally run the HTML file in the bin-debug directory.  Even after a successful import and rebuilding of the HTML template, the Flash content will not load at all – just a blank screen.  Sometimes the content will load, but it will not function correctly.  If I upload the files to a live web server, it works just fine.  However, sometimes it is necessary to run the HTML files locally, and it is very inefficient to have to upload/run to/from a web server.
After all the trial and error of simply importing a project and when you think you’re making progress, something happens to the project along the way.  All of a sudden when you try to execute an MXML application, which is in the same directory of several others, only one certain MXML application decides to run (when you are trying to run another one).  The only workaround that I found is to either bring up a backup or create a new project and copy/paste the code.  This is highly unproductive.
All the inefficiencies and bugs in Flash Builder made it necessary for me to make constant backups.  When a project fell apart, I had to open a backup and copy/paste the code.  This was a lot of wasted time.  In addition, I learned early on not to count on Flash Builder when presenting or making minor, last minute changes before a presentation.  Flash Builder always managed to encounter some strange problem.
Flash Builder is unreliable and highly inefficient.  I love Adobe products and Flash is great, but at this time I can no longer use or support Flash Builder, and I could in no way justify its purchase in the future until most of these bugs and inefficiencies are fixed.  It has potential, and could be a great product if this were the case, but in my experience I spent more time overcoming bugs than coding.  When something would not work right, I first had to determine whether it was a bug in my code or a bug in Flash Builder.  If Adobe needs an engineer to fix some of these seemingly simple issues, I would be willing to take on the task for the sake of saving this potentially amazing product.
    [email protected]

it's a beta. it stunk. but they put it out for review which helps Adobe and others. But never treat those products as stuff to base your serious work around. Flex3 is stable. FB4 is 90% reliable. Things are still broken in it.
btw if it was a leading university why in the world would they base it around a Beta that was buggy or was that your decision ?
now, since I helped, please give me my 5 or 10 points.

  • How can I scroll horizontally with my mouse?

I am using Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 6947 Build on 64 bit Windows 7 Pro SP1 and I can't get my mouse to scroll horizontally in code view or any view.
Looking/working with wrapped code is a no go for me.
I have tried using apps to solve the problem like Mouse Hunter and X-Mouse Button Control and neither one of them can get the horizontal scroll bar to move.
What is really driving me nutz is I didn't have this problem when I was using Dreamweaver CC ver 13.2 Build 6471 because Mouse Hunter would give me horizontal scroll I needed.
I really think this is a bug in Dreamweaver that needs to be fixed....
Any and All help would be appreciated!
    thank you.

I am using windows 7 sp1 64bit  with Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 (15.0.0.6947) and an application called MouseHunter which allows you to hold shift an use your Scroll-wheel to get horizontal scroll in codeview which doesn't work once I updated to CC 2014.1.
It use to work in CC but some how the CC 2014.1 update broke it too.
I have also tried using the program X Mouse Button Control by setting my mouse buttons 4 & 5 to scroll left and right or mouse wheel tilt left and right and nothing works....
In older versions of Dreamweaver CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS6  I could hold down the ALT key and use the Scroll-wheel to get horizontal scrolling.

  • How can I save/export a Flash Builder ActionScript Project?

Is it possible to do this and then copy the project to another machine and open the project up in Flash Builder?
    cheers.

    Glenn
Please remind me what computer operating system you are using for your Premiere Elements 13?
I do not think that is involved. I suspect it is the thin scroll bar but let us check that out.
Let us say that you want want to export an .avi file, you use that thin scroll bar to scroll through
    MPEG
    AVCHD
    XAVC-S
    AVI
    Windows Media
    QuickTime
    Image
    Audio
until you scroll to AVI and then make your choice of preset for AVI. If you decide the AVI default preset is not what
you want, then you press on the Advanced Button for that AVI preset to get at the preset customization area.
As you can see, there is more scrolling to be done to get to Windows Media (wmv) which is further toward
    the bottom of the list.
Please consider and let us know the outcome. If those choices are really missing, then we are in major trouble
which may require a program uninstall, ccleaner run through, and reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
We will be watching for your results.
    Thanks.

  • Flash Builder custom code folding

I've just donwloaded the new CC versions and will possibly be buying the subscription at the end of this month.  I was previously using CS4 versions.
One thing I noticed though, is that the custom code folding options in the Flash CC actionscript editor are gone, you can now only collapse entire functions.  This remains true for flash builder as well.
So is there any way to collapse custom regions in flash builder instead of just entire functions?  I'm working on a flash MMO and I've got over 10,000+ lines of code.  Being able to collapse only functions simply doesn't cut it.  It really hinders my development time as I have to scroll through masses of code in order to get to what I need.  It's also much much more confusing looking at thousands of lines of code that I don't need to see at the moment.  Visual studio has a way of defining regions by typing "#region" and "#endregion" in the area you wish to collapse.  Is there anything I can do about this?  This is a very very important feature (at least for me) that I'm not sure why it was left out, or I am unable to find it.
    Thanks.

  • Smooth scrolling horizontally rather than vertically

Hi is it possible to have smooth scrolling set from left to right rather than up and down, I've done some research into smooth scrolling and all i could find was articles showing smooth scrolling vertically. If this is not possible is there another way to set a horizontal scrolling long page?
    Cheers
    Clinton

Hi Thanks for your response, did you mean using the scrollable frames overlay? or in the builder set the Article behaviour to smooth scroll horizontally? I basically wanted to have a  really long horizontal scroller made up of a series of images. I've tried the scrollable frames overlay however once you filck to the scrollable page it locks you on the page and the only way to get out of it is to select a different chapter in the bookmarks. I've also tried setting the behaviour to smooth scroll horizontally however it still snaps to the individual pages, id prefer if you could scroll between pages? (im previewing on the content viewer for ipad, not sure if this has anything to do with it?)

  • Flash Builder 4.7 and design view question

I have programmed a large, commercial level mobile application using Flash Builder 4.6. It is working GREAT when ran on both iOS and Android devices.
I was using the trial version of Flash Builder 4.6 to develop this application. I used the states feature that FB has built in to handle Portrait, Landscape, and Phone / Tablet configs. This means that I built 4 different layouts for all 8 of my views in my mobile application. Using the design view in FB 4.6 was what allowed me to do this.
I have to say that I LOVE Flash Builder so far. GREAT tool.
My trial ended just last week. I had to purchase version 4.7 of the software, only to find out that they REMOVED the design view from the software.
All complaining aside, what have other programmers who are in the same boat as me done as a solution? I would like to continue to program in AS and Flash Builder as I have taken the time to write the application and learn the whole platform.
As it stands now, I am in the process of downgrading my liscence keys from 4.7 to 4.6, but in order to do this I had to RETURN my retail version of FB 4.7 premium (bought online) and buy a volume liscening version (NOT through adobe, only allowed to do this through a reseller such as CDW). then once I have a key for 4.7 through volume liscencing, it can be downgraded to 4.6.
I'm hoping to get input from others in the same boat. Did you change Programming languages? if so, to what? Did you change IDE's? If so, to what?

    Joe -
I actually never completed the downgrade to 4.6 so I've been using 4.7 without the design view.    In 4.6, I would put a control on the view within design view.  Then I would change each state, move it around, and it would be placed that way.  In my case, each view has 4 states - portraitPhone, landscapePhone, portraitTablet, and landscapeTablet.   I had to do this 4 times for each control under 4.6
So I went back and looked at my code in 4.7 and all the resulting code was these explicit x, y, height, and width values.  See the code below:
    <s:states> <s:State name="portraitPhone" stateGroups="phone,portrait"
    />
     <s:State name="landscapePhone" stateGroups="phone,landscape"/>

So instead of continuing to try and modify these values by hand, then run the program, using trial and error, I took a different tact.   I removed ALL x y height and width values.  Then, I wrapped all the mxml code in either <s:HGroup or <s:Vghroup tags depending on what I wanted.  Then I would just set the vertical and horizontal align on these groups.  This allows everything to scale correctly based on the size of the view (each device really is a little different).   Finally,  I hand entered things like font sizes by using State Groups like this:   fontSize.phone="12"  fontSize.tablet="22".    It still took testing on the screen to see how my layouts worked but it just makes the UI so much easier to change around and works so much better with out all the static stuff in it.
If you have some time , I would suggest taking one of your 4.6 views that has all these static variables and trying to modify it to work like I said above.    My modified code (to do the same thing as above) is below:
    <s:states> <s:State name="portraitPhone" stateGroups="phone,portrait"
    />
     <s:State name="landscapePhone" stateGroups="phone,landscape"/>
     <s:State name="portraitTablet" stateGroups="tablet,portrait"/>

  • Flash Builder 4 - Turn on Smart Guides?

    Hello,
Simply trying to lay out content in design view with new Flash Builder 4 - but the smart guides that used to be in Flex 2 and 3 are not there??
I can't align text properly (vertically and horizontally) anymore.  The guides show up but only with reference to a contaniner - not with reference to other objects (text, buttons etc)
    Can anyone help!!?
    thanks

    Hi Leon,
Can you describe the theme-changing behavior you are seeing?  Is there an error dialog about theme compilation failing?  If so, it most likely has not been updated to support the CSS namespace requirements and/or it suffers from lingering Fx-rename issues.  Are these themes that you may have downloaded from the web?  Does switching to the wireframe theme work for you?
Please file a bug detailing the steps to reproduce your issues:  http://bugs.adobe.com/flex/

  • Does Flex/Flash Builder allow me to do this?

Hi, I have a scrolling gallery element that I built in Flash and then imported to catalyst as part of my website. (I'm an artist who is self-taught in the realm of web-building and maintain my own site.)  When I add new images, I end up opening my .fxp file in catalyst and then take that flash element back in Flash and add images, and then export the whole thing as a .swf and then update that file for my site.
Can using flex/flash builder some how stream line my process where I am instead updating data. i.e. adding new images to a database, which then gets pulled in?
Also I have text fields that require frequent updating, it would be much easier to simply update a document that gets pulled into the final output.
Mainly I'm confused on the purpose of flex and flash builder, and am just wondering if it is something I should know in a limited way to make things easier.
Or is there a much easier way to do this all within catalyst without the round-trip to flash? Should this be a "datalist?"
if you want to see what I'm working with you can visit my site:
    www.timothymcmahon.com
the gallery component is reached by clicking on either of the two circles on the lower left after entering the main page.
    Thanks, Tim

Don't use FlashBuilder for making a gallery. Much better to google "Actionscript xml image gallery" there are a ton of solutions out there.

  • Where can I download a copy of Flash Builder 4.6?

I still need design view and am migrating to a new workstation.  I have a copy of Master Collection CS 5.5- and need the Flash Builder 4.6 upgrade.
Where can I find this?  I have downloaded 4.7 but I see no productivity enhancement for my current workflow and would like to continue with 4.6.
    Thanks,
    -Jonathan Rios

Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. The first one on the list, Flash Player 10.1 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

  • What is new in Flash Builder 4.7 Game Development beta 2

I just installed it, I thought it would include some version of monocle.
Are there any changes other than a support for a product not available yet through labs?
If Not, when will we get monocle to test with it?

In this build you can create SWFs that support profiling with Monocle, but you will need to download Monocle separately as it is not a part of Flash Builder.
The telemetry API usage via monocle is possible only with the AIR SDK 3.4, so out of the box AS3 projects would support creating SWFs that can be used with monocle. To make it work with MXML (or rather Flex) would will need to overlay the Flex 4.6 SDK with the AIR 3.4 runtime.
    Thanks

  • Adobe creative cloud cc install has messed up my Flash Builder 4.6 serialization

    Hello,
I have been a flash builder user for several years now. I have had FB 4.6 installed on my computer as a free upgrade from FB 4.5, which came with my copy of creative suite 5.5, which I purchased in 2011.
FB 4.6 has been working fine - even when I moved to adobe creative cloud last May (2012).
However, now that I have installed the new creative cloud (CC) applications (and uninstalled the creative cloud cs6 apps) - I am having problems with Flash Builder 4.6. I open it and get a message that my 'trial period' is up. Again, I own FB from my purchase of CS 5.5 - not to metion that it was included in creative cloud. I know that I can download FB 4.7 from creative cloud, but it doesn;t have the design view. So I want FB 4.6. I have seen some solutions to similar problems on the web that recommend reinstalling as a trial and then inputting the serial number once it launches. But I have FB 4.5 on my CS 5.5 installation disc - not FB 4.6 - and I'm not even sure how I could get FB 4.6 anymore. Not to mention that uninstalling - reinstalling 4.5 - and then upgrading from 4.5 to 4.6 - even if possible - would be a huge hassle.
Can someone please help me to get my FB 4.6 working again? To reiterate - everything was fine until I installed Creative Cloud CC apps and uninstalled Creative Cloud CS6 apps
    Thanks

  • How do I use Embed with an environment variable in an Actionscript AIR project Flash Builder 4.7

I am using Flash Builder 4.7 to build an Actionscript AIR project.  The project embeds a number of png files from my local directory and I have been using absolute paths which all works fine.
I have a laptop with which I want to start developing the same project - I set up a git repository that both the laptop and main pc can pull from and so I can get the source where I need it and push it back to the central repository.
My problem is that the absolute paths for the embed commands don't work on the laptop as it has a different filesystem setup (Windows 8 with one drive as opposed to Windows 7 with a SSD and a data drive).  I thought the solution would be as easy as using an environment variable to specify the path which could then point to a different physical directory on both machines, i.e:
    [Embed(source = "DEVELOPER_RESOURCES/graphics/are/here.png"]
I did a bit of research and there was quite a lot mentioned about setting up resource directories using path variables which I worked through but I just can't get it to compile.  The Actionscript compiler just won't find the png files however I specify the path.  I tried something with a FLEX project and the compiler didn't complain but I think this is because the compiler for FLEX uses a different convention.
[Embed(source ="/Project Name/DEVELOPER_RESOURCES/graphics/are/here.png"]  works with FLEX but not Actionscript.
So does anyone have a recipe for using the Embed command referencing assets using an environment variable that works across multiple machines with different file structures?

I managed to find a solution on Windows which was to use symlinks and absolute paths.  You an basically point one directory to another so I did something like:
    mklink c:\developer_resources c:/the/local/path/to/my/resources
and then reference all resources as c:\developer_resources\...
Now as long as a developer machine has the right link (from c:\developer_resources to the place where the resources are kept) then it seems to work.
This doesn't however work for Mac and certainly isn't a solution for passing files between Mac and windows
