Scrolling window appears - How do I remove?

Here is a page created with my template:
http://abdavisbuilders.com/contact.html
Here is another page created with the same template, but adding copy and a few divs:
http://abdavisbuilders.com/index-2.html
You will notice that the contact page does not scroll horizontally, but the home page does.  The two colums of text in the home page are controlled by the following css rules:
#container-left {
    padding: 0px;
    float: left;
    width: 340px;
    margin-top: 0px;
    margin-right: 10px;
    margin-bottom: 0px;
    margin-left: 0px;
#container-right {
    padding: 0px;
    float: left;
    width: 340px;
    margin-top: 0px;
    margin-right: 10px;
    margin-bottom: 0px;
    margin-left: 0px;
I've discovered that when I remove the #container-right div the horizontal scrolling issue goes away.  However, the bullets in the right column are no longer indented.  I want to remove the horizontal scrolling and maintain the indenting on the bulleted list.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Aaron

While viewing the pages on my laptop browser window fully open at 1440 width, I don't see any scrolling on either page.
What browser window size are you targetting?  I notice that the wrapper div is set to 1060px.
If you're aiming for 1024px window size min. you need to set the total width of the page at around 960-980px wide.
You'll also need to look at the widths of your containers to bring the total of all three containers (including padding & margins), navbar, left content and right content to fall into this width as well.

  • I am using a MacBook Pro and when I open a new tab in Firefox it opens to Trovi. Mozilla has a forum but solutions are all for the PC/Windows. How do I remove it?

    I am using a OSX MacBook Pro running Mavericks version 10.9.4 and using Firefox 30.0.  My Mac has recently been hijacked by a program called "Trovi". Whenever I open a blank new tab in Firefox the tab opens it opens with Trovi. The Mozilla forums offer support but all solutions are for users who run Windows. How do I remove Trovi from my Mac? Please help.

    Hey there! I answered this in another post a moment ago, this may be extremely helpful...I had the same problem until very recently with Trovi.

  • For some reason Bing has creeped onto my Firefox browser. Now every time I open a new tab, it automatically goes to the Bing search window. How do I remove this?

    I do not recall downloading Bing or ever setting Bing up as a default search engine. My Home Page was also changed to MSN, but I fixed that.

    There have been several threads about this add-on during the past few months...
    It is important to check the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features to remove the source(s). These may include the following:
    * Incredibar
    * MyStart
    * Web Assistant
    After that, restart Firefox and start clearing out its settings as described in the following threads. Many users find it simpler to "Reset" than to take multiple steps to clean-up Firefox. That's up to you.

  • Genieo search engine appeared, how do i remove?

    Hi,
    I updated my Safari last night, and now I keep getting Genieo as my search engine when it is set to google. I did not ask for Geneio, and I do not want it. How do I remove it? I have searched on my finder and can't find any files with the word genieo in it. Any help would be appreciated to help me remove this from my laptop so I can carry on using the google search engine.
    Help fast please....
    Thanks

    You installed the "Genieo" search-hijacking rootkit. The product is a fraud, and the developer knowingly distributes an uninstaller that doesn't work. I suggest the tedious procedure below to disable Genieo. This procedure may leave a few small files behind, but it will deactivate any version of the rootkit that I know of.
    Back up all data. You must know how to restore from a backup even if the system becomes unbootable. If you don't know how to do that, or if you don't have any backups, stop here and ask for guidance.
    Step 1
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /etc/launchd.conf
    Right-click or control-click the line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
    from the contextual menu.
    If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    A folder may open with a file selected, or the file may not exist, in which case you'll get a message that it can't be found. If it does exist, it's a configuration file created or replaced by the Genieo installer. Any software installer that does this should be considered ipso facto malware. Move the file to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your administrator password. Then restart, empty the Trash, and continue as below.
    IMPORTANT: If the launchd.conf file exists, you must move it to the Trash and restart before continuing. Otherwise the system may become unbootable. In that case, restore from your backup and start over. That's how badly Genieo has sabotaged your system. If you're not sure you can complete this step, stop here and ask for guidance.
    Some installations of Genieo don't include the launchd.conf file, perhaps because it has already been removed. The absence of that file doesn't mean that Genieo is not installed.
    Step 2
    Quit the Genieo application, if it's running. Force quit if necessary.
    Move each of these items to the Trash in the same way as above:
    /Applications/Genieo.app
    /Applications/Uninstall Genieo.app
    /Library/Frameworks/GenieoExtra.framework
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.engine.plist
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.client.plist
    /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.client
    /usr/lib/libgenkit.dylib/usr/lib/libgenkitsa.dylib
    /usr/lib/libimckit.dylib
    /usr/lib/libimckitsa.dylib
    There's no need to restart after each one. Again, some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
    Restart and empty the Trash. Don't try to empty the Trash until you have restarted.
    Step 3
    From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
    Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including ones called "Genieo" or "Omnibar," and any that have the word "Spigot" or "InstallMac" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
    Your web browser(s) should now be working, and you should be able to reset the home page and search engine. If not, stop here and post your results.
    Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install this undesirable software. Chances are you got it from one of the Internet's open sewers such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. Typically the ad is a large green button labeled "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to mislead people who want to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
    You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Genieo developer has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. It must be said that this failure of oversight is inexcusable and has seriously compromised the value of Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You cannot rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
    Finally, be forewarned that when Genieo is mentioned on this site, the developer sometimes shows up under the name "Genieo support." If that happens, don't believe anything he says, but feel free to tell him what you think of his scam.

  • With Windows XP, how do I remove bing from my browser page?

    I have tried all the standard methods but it is still on my monitor screen. It does not appear in my programs list in the "add-remove-programs" list. It is not listed in my add-on's list. It is not in my internet options, firefox mozilla is the home page and nothing else is listed there. Has anyone else who is running Win XP SP3 found a way to remove this invader? Thanks in advance.

  • I copied ipad icons onto my windows desktop how do I remove them?

    My dad was trying to add an icon to his desktop and managed to copy about 12 ipad icons onto his desktop and I can't remove them for him.
    They are large and don't respond to the cursor. I looked in desktop but they aren't listed. I renamed them a text file which listed them in the desktop
    folder and deleted them vbut the icons are still on his desktop.

    Hi its Kitzy1 reporting in. Had difficulty locating my own message. We found two responses in my dad's email. Thank you so much for responding as I felt really alone and confused.  My sister figured out that somehow my dad had made a wallpaper with the ipad icons which is why they didn't respond to the cursor.  Once I got a clue, I figured out it was a corruption of his user profile in windows and fixed it!  Thank you thank you for responding. It was definitely a humdinger!  Katherine

  • When I download files, a window appears; how do I recall this window?

    I may be asking for an enhancement in future releases.
    I want to be able to access information about recent downloads and sometimes I like to open the downloaded file by "clicking" on it in this window. It would be nice to be able to open this window from a menu selection (perhaps "View" command).

    Whatever you are asking is already provided by firefox. To open the DOWNLOAD window go to Tools -> Download. Most of all get the latest version of [https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/ '''Firefox'''].

  • What is NSAppshell event window and how can I remove it? Have tried disabling all plug-ins and add-ons and it's still there and makes our computer slower than dial up!

    Whenever I log off of my computer I get a message "NSAppshell event window," which slows down the performance of Mozilla and anything else we're trying to run on our computer. We're forced to log off and on to reboot and this happens nearly all the time. We have tried disabling all add-ons and plug-ins, to no avail. We are using Mozilla 4.0. Thanks for any help you can provide, as we don't want to go back to using Internet Explorer if we can help it.

    I'd like you to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox, and tell me if that fixes your problem.

    1. Uninstall all Oracle components using the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI).
    2. Delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE key which contains registry entries for all Oracle products by using regedit.
    3. Delete any references to Oracle services/components in the following registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/. Looks for key entries that starts with “Ora” which are obviously related to Oracle.

  • How do I remove unwanted entries in the Profile Manager window?

    Can anyone please explain how do you remove irrelevant entries in the Profile Manager dialog? Since I have both 4.0 and 3.6 installed,each with two profiles,I use to launch secondary profiles with the Profile Manager via a command line instead of a specific shortcut,and the dialog window always shows all four options,regardless of what path I enter : is it possible to clean up the dialog window,so that only the 4.0 profiles are displayed when entering the path to 4.0 profiles,and so on for 3.6,without actually risking to delete any profiles? BTW,4.0 profile folders are stored in a different directory than 3.6,and the 3.6 profiles were accessed with the Profile Manager window (no shortcuts to specific profiles at the time) before installing 4.0

    The Profile Manager is for all versions of Firefox you have installed - every Profile that is listed in the '''profiles.ini''' file will appear there. The location of the Profile folders has no effect on what the Profile Manager dialog window shows. There is no way to set it up relative to one program installation.
    Best thing to do is to have separate desktop shortcuts for each Profile / Firefox-version you want to use.
