SD slot problem.

Can anyone help.  New to the Imac and just purchased the new 21.5.  i am trying to put an SD card from my camera into the slot and it is getting stuck and not picking it up.  Then it is next to impossible to pull it back out.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

DDid you inset it in the cd slot by mistake?

  • HDR CX380 card slot problem

Purchased HDR CX380 Nov.29,2013. Returned for repair Nov.12,2014. Could not insert card in SD slot. This was on EVENT ID: E60644077. Now on June 30,2015, card will not click into place in slot. Have only used slot a maximum of 3 times since the repair. A $400.00 camera should not have these issues. We have 2 Sony TV's, DVD Player, and other equipment. I expect a company with the reputation of Sony to do something about this continuing SD card slot problem. IF NOT, I will be forced to find another camera without the Sony name on it.

    Hi gregruthswanson,
Pls ensure you are using the supported type and capacity of Memory Card media for use with the camera. Insert the Memory Card in a correct direction until it clicks. Push the center portion of the visible edge of the memory card (pls see this guide for instructions) .
You can also try to use other memory cards just to make sure that the memory card you're currently using isn't damaged.
If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required.

  • MSI P67A-G45 (B3) Two DIM slots problem.

Hi, I just bought all my parts for my new computer. Everything is working fine, except that I have some problem with two of my DIM slots. When I insert my RAM into the slots on the right side (near CD-ROM) the PC reboots each 3 second. Do you know what may cause the problem? Is it the slot problem or something with the BIOS settings?
    CPU: Intel i5 2500k 3.30 GHz
    Mobo: MSI P67A-G45 (B3)

But I can normally boot into the Windows, if it would be the CPU problem then I guess the pc wont boot. I will check it just to make sure and I will post the result.
It has been seen here on the forum a number of times that the system will run with bent or broken CPU socket pins. As suggested, if not done so yet, remove the CPU & inspect the CPU socket for bent pins.

  • PowerBook G3 (PDQ) - Startup disk and PCMCIA slot problem

    Hello
I have encountered a problem with my powerbook G3 (PDQ model)
Once when I had to configure my microphone, I saw that there was "Zoomed video" present in the list of audio inputs.
I thought this was a glitch, and inserted my SD card reader into the lower PCMCIA slot. Then my display got messed up.
The slot insertion doesn't seem to work right too, it resists much more than the top slot does.
It didn't react to anything except Fn-Shift-Ctrl-Power, which is Reset.
It happens in both OS9 and 10.2.
    Photo: http://instagr.am/p/NtWNH/
Once I was able to insert it right so it wouldn't mess up, and i used the reader in the lower slot as usual.
When I ejected it, the card didn't pop out as usual and it was hard to pull out, and the screen was messed up as well.
The second problem is that when I start the "Startup Disk" control panel in OS9, the PowerBook hangs for no particular reason, also reacting to Reset only.
Maybe there is a bootloader I can install so I'd choose the OS I want before actually booting anything?
Could these problems be related to each other, or a dead battery? Maybe to the incorrectly set clock (however doesn't seem so)? Or related to using an Apple DVD drive?
    Thanks,
    ~ Vladislav Korotnev

No it hasn't. What kind of battery does it use?
The power battery is dead as well (not charging nor powering the pb)

  • Ram slot problems

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but this past December I noticed that only one of my 2 ram slots was reading the RAM card. I sent my computer in to the Apple Depot on 3 different occasions (the first time, my computer came back showing all of my RAM, but the computer crashed every 1-5minutes), then I sent it back and it came back running smoothly with 1 of the 2 RAM slots not reading (Read: original problem). Finally after the third time, I got my computer back and it ran without crashing and all of my RAM was accounted for (both 512MB chips).
That is.. until one week ago. I moved to Germany and when I got here, things were going slow. I went to the apple menu and selected "About this Mac". Low and behold, only 512MB RAM appeared.
My first thought is that I burnt it out because my computer heats up a lot fairly often (but my batteries Serial# doesn't fit the exchange program's criteria, mine is: W7339SKNNXOB. The computer's serial# does comply, however).
My more absurd explanation is this occurred on both occasions right after I flew somewhere and the computer got X-rayed.

Well, here's what Apple's PowerBook Service FAQ has to say on the subject:
Does Apple warrant my PowerBook service?
For PowerBooks under Apple’s One-Year Limited Warranty, Apple warrants against defects that arise from service performed for 90 days from the date of service or for the remaining period of the warranty, whichever provides longer coverage for you.
b For PowerBooks not under Apple’s One-Year Limited Warranty, Apple warrants against defects that arise from service performed for 90 days from the date of service.
So, at first glance, it would appear that if your repair was done in February, the 90-day warranty period might have expired. But, maybe there's an additional warranty (hopefully a longer one) that applies to the parts (i.,e., the logic board), and so the cost of a replace
    b part
    if not also the
    b labor
    would still be under warranty.
90-days seems awfully short to me, maybe it would to someone at Apple (a customer service rep, e.g.) as well if you make a good case in a persuasive way. That may be another option, albeit one with limited chances of success.
That's the best I can tell you right now; perhaps there's someone on here with actual first-hand experience with getting a repair by Apple on an out-of-warranty PB RE-repaired who can give you more insight.

  • PPC Dual 2.0 Ram/Ram slot problem

Hey there folks. I'm hoping someone has seen this before and can help me out. I've been having problems with RAM. It's a mix of bad ram and what I believe are bad ram slots. I've isolated the bad ram and removed it from the machine. With the good ram I have found that every other slot has a problem. If I put a pair of good ram in the Zero slots, it works fine. If I put them in the next slot they show has having a problem in the hardware test AND if I just let the machine boot, the ram will appear in the hardware profiler, BUT it will only post half its value. The machine will run fine for a bit, but then applications will vaporize, there will be eternal SWODs..etc etc .. making the machine unusable.
I've got a work-around for now. I just use the first and third slots and leave the second and fourth slots empty.
Any ideas on what the problem is? ... How to fix it?
Thanks very much for your input.
    Cheers,
    Jeff

yeah.. I don't think the Crucial memory will work in those slots either... I haven't tried, but all the ram that seems good and works as a stand-alone pair in the first and third slots, doesn'twork in the second and fourth... I'm much more suspicious of the motherboard/memory slots...

  • DVD/CD Slot Problem

All of a sudden I can't get a DVD into the DVD/CD Combo slot on my iBook G4. Apparently something is jammed. Is there a simple way a non-geek can fix this?

Is there any possibility that a CD or DVD was left in the drive? Or that a label or something has come off and is stuck in the drive? I think it would be worth going through the steps in the following article to see if there is something stuck in the drive and if it can be gotten out.
MacOSX 10.4 Help: Ejecting a CD or DVD when all else fails:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh/1750.html
If no luck, please post back. Also, you could go to Disk Utility and verify permissions and repair if necessary just in case that is a factor. But your situation sounds like more of a mechanical problem to me.
    Good luck!

  • ? RAM slot problems (and much, much more... :))

Have a brand new 'Intel' iMac 20", and installed RAM (from Crucial memory)into it.
Twice now I have had a major crash. First time it got sorted by re-seating the RAM, but now it's happened again. I think one of the two RAM chips may be faulty, but intermittently, which is a pain.
Can I ask the following to help me along:
    1) Is it a known issue that there may be faulty RAM slots in the iMacs?
    2) I may have to run MemTest on my system, which recommends starting in single-user mode to do a full RAM test. Can I start in single mode with a WIRELESS keyboard (according ao the Apple site you can with OS 10.4.8 - the bluetooth 'drivers' must be buried well deep if this is so!)
    3) Read somewhere that resetting PRAM and NVRAM should be done after all RAM additions/alterations, but elsewhere that this is an evil falsehood. Which is true? And if recommended, again can I do this with a wireless keyboard.
    4) Of course if your RAM is faulty your machine may not start up at all so HOW CAN YOU DO ANY OF THIS!!!??
    (Thanks!)

    1. No, there are no known issues with RAM slots in any Macs. However, if you were not careful to follow instructions on seating the new RAM you can damage a slot, although this is unlikely.
    2. You don't need to use MemTest. Boot the computer with the OS X Installer Disc One that came with the computer. After the chime press and hold down the "D" key until the diagnostic screen appears. Run the extended diagnostics. If there are any memory or hardware problems they should be detected.
    3. I've never reset the NVRAM (PRAM) after installing new RAM, and I've never had a problem. That said resetting the PRAM/NVRAM doesn't hurt anything.
    4. Start by removing the new RAM you installed and use only the original RAM that came with the computer. If the computer works properly, then it's reasonable to assume the new RAM is faulty.
Be sure the new RAM you purchase meets the required specs as outlined in your User Guide. The RAM must be PC2-5300 667 Mhz DDR2.

I have a computer with an MSI K7T Turbo Ver 3 board.
The number between the PCI slots is N1996.
The is a chip near the end of the PCI slots that says MS6330 Lite.
Running Windows 2000 PRO with 512 MG RAM.
The problem is, neither the modem nor the NIC work. This just happened. I have taken known good working parts and put them in but no luck. Device Manager shows both to be working properly.
I do not have the installation disc for this board and cannot fint it listed so that I can download all the drivers and BIOS.
    Can anyone please help me.

  • [ Eclipse SLI Memory Slot Problem ]

I get my motherboard back from internal no display problem [repaired] but now I got a new problem with my Eclipse SLI board.  I have a Corsair 3Gb  (3x1Gb DDR3 Triple Channel) 1333 XMS3 memory, the problem is this, every time I insert 1 memory on slot 3 and check on my Memory-Z inside the BIOS, the BIOS hang, but if I continue loading and boot with Windows, Windows will load like there's nothing wrong, when I insert 1 memory on slot 5 and check the details on Memory-Z inside my BIOS, it shows details about my memory, but if I continue loading and boot with Windows, Windows crash with BSOD.
I try my memory to my brothers motherboard [Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5] and all of my memory works good even in he's BIOS, we can check or view all of my memory details. I also try to use my brothers memory [G.Skill Ripjaws 6Gb (3x2GbDDR3 Triple Channel) 1600 ] to my Eclipse SLI and the same problem happen. Every time we insert memory on slot 5 Windows crash with BSOD but we can check details on BIOS and slot 3 hangs every time we check detail on BIOS but load Windows fine.
As part of the rules here in MSI Forum, here are my specs
    Processor : Intel Core i7 920 [stock]
    Memory : Corsair 3Gb (3x1Gb Triple Channel) DDR3 1333 XMS3

Just a guess, but I have the feeling they don't have a like replacement available, & they don't have an upgrade board such as an E. Plus or a BB X to give you. If you like having a PCI slot, trust me, you probably wouldn't like a BB X anyway. An Eclipse Plus would be nice though.
that's also what i am thinking. they don't have extra Eclipse to replace my old one

  • MS-7125 Neo4 Platinum DIMM slot problems

    Hi everyone--
Anyway, I recently assembled a new system.
I've had loads of trouble, but gradually my troubleshooting has pointed to the strong likelihood that DIMM slots 3, 4, or both are defective.  Basically, I've found that in apps that consume lots of physical memory, full system crashes are a near-certainty when I have all 4 DIMM slots filled with my Crucial RAM.  Stability is MUCH better, in fact just about as rock-solid as things get, when I only have slots 1 and 2 filled.
Windows stability is fine regardless of what slots I have filled.  I really only see it during Half-life 2, Dawn of War, etc., when I've got all the settings maxed.  With HL2 in particular, I ran it windowed for awhile so I could keep an eye on the Performance tab of the Task Manager-- prior to a crash that happened every time I tried to load a new stage, physical memory usage would, after remaining constant around 400MB, suddenly start climbing all the way to 1024MB, and then, boom, crash.  Once I pulled the RAM out of 3 and 4, I got through the load
just fine.  I left things that way and was able to play through the whole game over the past two days, at 1600x1200 4x AA 8x Aniso everything else maxed.
MSI says not to use 3 DIMMs on this board, so I really can't pinpoint the problem slot by swapping DIMMs in and out.  Crucial was kind enough to send me two replacement DIMMs when I first figured out how to fix the stability problem by pulling out two DIMMs, because at the time I blamed the RAM itself.
Does anyone have any ideas?  Are there any tools, etc that can test DIMM slots?  Should I just have Newegg send me a new board?  FYI, I ran Docmem from simmtester.com all night with the 4 Crucial DIMMs installed and woke up to no errors, so I'm really perplexed.  Thanks in advance.

Ive seen somewhere (and have been looking but cant find it now) that the crucial ballistix memory will run all 4 dimms at ddr400 and a command rate of 1T.  It may be on the crucial site but cant find it.  Also, if you are running curcial ballistix, Im at timings of 2,2,2,5 1T at 217fsb or 2.5,2,2,6 1T at 250fsb with memclock at 200 (1:1).
Im not sure its the mobo that is causing the problem with 4 dimms, I had thought it was the memory controller on the actual AMD chip.  Just my 2 cents.
Here is some information from the guys a Corsair Memory (as I had asked this same question to them when I was looking for RAM for my MSI Neo4-F (7125) board:
    Quote
The issue you are referring to is dependant on the CPU and not the RAM itself. Many of the Athlon 64 processors have a limitation which does not allow more than two sticks of DDR400 memory to run at full speed. You can run four modules at DDR333 with no problems but anything outside of that speed will cause the system to freeze or not boot.
So it is more than likely a limitation of the chipset.  I have about 60 MSI K8T-NEO-FISR and K8T-NEO2-FSRs in my building, all of them running with 4 sticks of memory at full speed.  Those boards have the VIA chipset and have no issues.  They all overclock pretty stable to about 218FSB with the plain jane PC3200 Crucial memory.
Also, I have 4x512MB Ballistix memory, and you probably can not run at 1T timing.  They are doublesided memory and it doesn't like 1T, at least not under any real load.

  • SD card slot problems

I've tried many different combinations with my SD card (as in timing) placed in the slot.  It's not appearing on iPhoto or the destop.  It's just plainly not recoginizing it at all.  What can I do to make it work?

Did you find a resolution to your problem?
I have a similar problem: Finder doesn't recognize my SD card in my reader. Yet, it is visible to Mail (Version 3.6 (936)) via the attachment listing. Which is the terrible work around I've been forced to use. I shut down to eject. I replaced the reader & it recognized it for a couple days, but out of the blue it choked again.

  • Digital Memory Card slot problem -- dv3510nr

I wanted to load some photos into my new HP notebook from a Memory Stick Pro Duo card.  I discovered the slot is much bigger than the card.  Nothing grabs the card.  Looking at a photo from the online manual, there seems to be a housing around the slot that isn't present on my computer.  It looks like a very squashed T.  My computer's opening is a rectangle.
Does anyone know if my computer's missing a part, or if I am doing something wrong?  I am NOT misidentifying the express card slot as the media slot.  It lies directly above, and is bigger yet.

I have an HP G60 that will take the regular Memory Stick but not the Memory Stick Pro Duo.  I checked both sticks and they have the same contacts but the Pro Duo stick is much shorter thus making it impossible to pull out of the card reader slot.  I found that if you really want to use the Memory Stick Pro Duo you can get some 1/2 inch strapping tape (The kind with nylon strings imbedded in it) and tape a little pull tab on the outside edge of the stick.  It works really well if you
pull gently to extract the stick.  This is just a tip if you really have the need to use the slot.

Sounds like the GTX295 is not getting enough power.  Perhaps your PSU is not strong enough and/or not all relevant power connectors are hooked up to the PSU properly.
In any case, nothing your said primarely indidates the mainboard as the cause of the problem or it's PCI-Express sub-system.
