SDK can't find arm-xilinx-eabi-gcc

I have installed ISE 14.6 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (64-bit). I have been able to generate my design and export it to SDK, but after I create a new standalone_bsp and hello_world project I get the following compliation error:
make all
Building file: ../src/helloworld.c
Invoking: ARM gcc compiler
arm-xilinx-eabi-gcc -Wall -O0 -g3 -c -fmessage-length=0 -I../../standalone_bsp/ps7_cortexa9_0/include -MMD -MP -MF"src/helloworld.d" -MT"src/helloworld.d" -o "src/helloworld.o" "../src/helloworld.c"
/bin/sh: 1: arm-xilinx-eabi-gcc: not found
make: *** [src/helloworld.o] Error 127
It seems that SDK can't find the arm gcc compiler. Probably a path related issue. This is how I start SDK:
#!/bin/sh
source /opt/Xilinx/14.6/ISE_DS/settings64.sh
export LD_PRELOAD=/opt/Xilinx/usb-driver/libusb-driver.so
export XIL_IMPACT_USE_LIBUSB=1
sudo restart udev
xsdk
I also made sure the executable existed, which it did under:
/opt/Xilinx/14.6/ISE_DS/EDK/gnu/arm/lin/bin
I echoed my $XILINX variable and it points to /opt/Xilinx/14.6/ISE_DS/ISE . I also tried changing it to just /opt/Xilinx/14.6/ISE_DS/ with no success.
What am I doing wrong?

Solved my problem. I didn't have the 32-bit support libraries installed. Simply install ia32-libs and try again (didn't even need to restart sdk).

  • [SOLVED] Need help with Compiling to TM4C123glx with arm-none-eabi-gcc

    Hello !
I was using the 'arm-none-eabi-gcc' package from 'comunity' on Arch Linux in order to compile some projects to my TI TM4C123gxl.
In order to test the compiler, I rebuild a pre-build example sent with the 'Tivaware' software package (qs-rgb). The compilation was smooth, but the final binary didn't run on the board. (about 14KB)
After that, I downloaded a toolchain from this website:
    https://launchpad.net/gcc-arm-embedded
    Which also ships an 'arm-none-eabi-gcc'.
The compilation with the toolchain above could generate a binary that could run on my board. (about 10KB)
At first, I thought it was a bug, and I was on my way to file a bug report.  But then I remember that this toolchain can be build with several different options, so I need to ask:
Do your package have support to this target? (TI TM4C123glx)
Is there a difference between the two toolchains that I should have noticed?
Sorry if my questions are some obvious things. I have no much information about toolchain building.
If you need any more informations about this, I will be happy to send you.
If you prefer I open a bug report, I will be happy to do so.
    Thank you!

leonardo, here is completely untested patch that makes arm-none-eabi-gcc use newlib-nano instead of newlib. Get the PKGBUILD from ABS, apply the patch and rebuild the *-gcc. Let me know if it makes any difference.
The -nano project goal is provide smaller footprint in probably the reason of smaller binary with linaro toolchain.

How can I find out the screen size of the users moniter using the Acrobat SDK? I need to know how much sreen real estate that is available on the users moniter. Is there some call that I can make from the SDK to discover the maximun X and Y coordinates?
    Thanks,

Currently, I am testing on multiple moniters and it is defaulting to the moniter designated as the #1 moniter. For our purposes, this is acceptable. Once the two documents have loaded, the user can move and re-size at will.

  • How can I find the position of a robotic arm with a cFP-CTR card?

    Hello,
I use a CTR-500 to measure the pulses of 3 encoders.
The encoders are related to the 3 axis (x,y,z), to which a robotic arm is moving.
Each encoder has 2 channels (A,B) which go to each pair of Count Inputs of the CTR card.
When the robotic arm is moving on one axis, the corresponding pair of Count Inputs is increasing, but there is a phase between the one Count Input and the second one. What is more, the Count Inputs do not decrease when the robotic arm is moving to the other direction, but they still increase.
So, I cannot find easily the position of the robotic arm.
What I have done, is to try finding the position, by using only one Counter Input for each axis. This means that I use the value of the encoder as a counter, and I calculate the position with some software tricks. But for some reason, it does not work properly.
I have heard that the method I use is not proper. Instead, I have been told that I must use the phase of the 2 Count Inputs, in order to find the direction to which the robotic arm is moving. But, the Count Inputs of the CTR are augmenting in parallel, when the robotic arm is moving forward or backward.
How can I find the position of the robotic arm, as it is moving like a CNC ?
    Thank you very much.

You don't want to use a cFP-CTR-500 card.  What you have are quadrature signals.  You should be using the cFP-QUAD-510.  It has 4 channels that can handle both the A and B signals of a quadrature encoder.  It has the built in circuitry do determine the phasing of A vs. B to know when to count up vs. count down.

  • Where can I find CODE & DOCS for Acrobat PDF Library SDK?

    Hi,
I had used Acrobat PDF SDK in the past but it didnt serve the purpose and we had to abort plan. THis time we are using PDF LIBRARY SDK instead. When can i find the code and documentation for it?
The only page I see is http://www.adobe.com/devnet/pdf/library/
So I want to study the object models, objects, functions etc, cant find it. Also is there a book you can suggest to study it. I sort of know the PDF-SDK wel, is the PDF-LIBRARY-SDK almost the same ?
Pls direct me to the code and documentation, so I can start coding on it.

    >WHy dont you have non confusing names for the products, one is the free Acrobat PDF SDK
No, it's the Acrobat SDK. This doesn't seem confusing at all: it's an
SDK for automating/controlling Acrobat, just as the Windows SDK is a
tool for working with Windows, the Photoshop SDK is a tool for working
with Photoshop etc. "Free" isn't used in the title, because that would
be confusing, and might suggest it can be deployed with the free Adobe
    Reader.
Nevertheless, maybe something could improve it because there are a
huge number of developer who assume it will work with the Reader or
    without Acrobat, despite its name.
    >and the other is Acrobat PDF LIBRARY SDK, right?
The other is the Adobe PDF Library. It's a library from Adobe for
working with PDF. Acrobat is not part of the name. It would be
confusing if it were. Maybe it could be called the "non-Acrobat PDF
    Library".

The LOAD command instruction is 0xE8 and not 0xE0/0xE1.
Lc is one byte, so how can you exceed FF?
Optionally the LOAD response can include a receipt (delegated management). If your card mandates a response length of 1 byte (Le=01) it means that no receipt is expected --> receipt length 00. JCOPs LOAD command has Le=0x00 set by default --> response length undefined. This is in accordance with Java Card API, which follows the ISO 7816-4 APDU structure.
    Let's look at the help of the JCOP tools upload command:usage: upload [-p|--progress][-c|--components][-r|--random][-l|--package package-name][-s|--sd SD-AID][-m|--params parameters][-b|--block_length length][-a|--auto][-d|--load-debug] CAP-file

  • Can't find Lumia SensorCore SDK

For some reason Nokia Developer and its community and wiki seem to be gone, I've looked everywhere on the MSDN and can't find any information regarding Lumia or any other Nokia platform, if this is a move by Microsoft it's a lousy and developer unfriendly move, why did they do this? You'd think that they'd use the MSDN which still has archives for Windows Mobile and even MS-DOS development, but for some reason Microsoft just has to delete years and years of work, this move would've never happened under Ballmer, the Microsoft-Nokia deal had so much potential, but Microsoft completely ruined it, I won't be surprised if they'd delete all Lumia features and then take 5 years so build them from the ground up and waste money and hire new people because they had to fire the old talented workers (oké, maybe this accidently turned into a rant, but I really just want Microsoft to make MICROSOFT Mobile's operating systems's and devices' developer software and wiki's available from the Microsoft DEVELOPER Network).
Likewise Microsoft claims that S40, S60, Asha, and Nokia X development details can be found on the Opera site but there's literally nothing there, it would've been way easier to have just migrated and archived information and Wiki's to the MSDN which still lists articles relevant to Windows 95, but can't list something about the Lumia Imaging SDK which works with the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL released in 2015.

    TulaTheQuang wrote:

I am a external developer like you, and I do not understand that closure either. Furthermore, the Microsoft Mobile Community is not leveraged as feedback channel. Therefore here, your comments drown in the Internet swarm. Officially, you should ask such questions in the Microsoft Developer Network (Lumia) or Opera (rest).

    Does this help?

    Please, continue there …
Currently, Google still has Developer Nokia in its cache, if you look for the Blogs, Wiki, or Discussion Board.
Furthermore as of today, the Wayback Machine is not blocked by a robot.txt, yet.
If you look for something special, please, say so and I double-check for you.

    Hi,
AIR SDK 3.4 and 3.5 distributives that include ActionScript Compiler 2.0 also contain command line debugger tool (fdb) that is able to debug ActionScript workers. Corresponding jar files are [AIR SDK]/lib/legacy/fdb.jar and [AIR SDK]/lib/legacy/legacy-common.jar. Fdb has been an open-source tool for years. Where can I find sources of the most recent fdb versions? Old svn repo is not updated for a long time.

Thanks, any response from the FDB team?
How can I contact them directly?
Are they going to integrate recent changes into Apache Flex SDK repository?

    Hello,
Am currently developing an application based on JNI. I have, after linking required libraries in c and compiling it, created a dll file 'hidapi.dll', which i load in java program via System.loadLibrary("hidapi") and compile it. When i run it in my machine (after of course, putting the dll file in System32 folder - Am using Wn 7 for your info.. ), the code runs perfectly fine. So far so good.
But when i put the dll file in another machine the dll file is not getting loaded... My code gives an exception java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\Windows\System32\hidapi.dll: Can't find dependent libraries... I saw in a few forums to ensure the class names are correct... But if that is the case, it must not run in my system too right? The only linked files are jni.h and a custom library hidapi.h. Should the hidapi.h too must be put in classpath? Has any body has any idea about this..?
    Thanks,
    Sreram

It is technically possible to create a C/C++ application without using compiler libraries but it that is an esoteric subject that has nothing to do with anything you might be doing with JNI.That is exactly, being a java programmer, where am stuck.
I am rather certain that the missing component, hidapi.dll, has nothing to do with C/C++ compiler libraries. Yes. I, in my Java code, am loading the hidapi.dll dynamically, to perform some communication with the USB device, which is a JNI C dll, I created using VS2010 and the C code uses the static library setupapi.lib (for communicating directly with the OS).
And unless you have a static library for that, which is not the same as the dll, there is no way you are going to link to that statically.I have MS SDK V7.0A pre-installed (along with Visual Studio - VS2010) in my system which has the library. So it works in my System (Windows 7). Problem arises only when i try to run the same code in another system, which has no VS.
Realistically what it really comes done to is that you must understand what dependencies your own application has first before you explore the options for delivering it.That is exactly what i am trying to do here.
Now i have a few questions here.
One: Do i need to install SDK in every system for the static linking and in tun my code to work? Or will it suffice if i put the setupapi.lib in path? Or should i convert the static linking to dynamic linking? (I realize i am asking more of C related questions in a Java forum, but I am sure your answers will help me in creating a working code.)
Two: After pathetically failing to create a working dll with VS2010, I tried to compile the code using Mingw gcc compiler and my code (C & JNI code) compiles successfully, but I do not know how to create a dll file by properly linking with the library files.
After compiling the code with the -c option, creating hid.o for the hid class and hidapi_wrap.o for the JNI wrapper, I tried to create a dll with the following command.
    D:\Sreram>gcc -Wl,-kill-at -o hidapi.dll hidapi_wrap.o hid.o
    hid.o: In function `hid_enumerate':
    D:\Sreram/hid.c:286: undefined reference to `_imp__SetupDiGetClassDevsA@16'
    D:\Sreram/hid.c:295: undefined reference to `_imp__SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces@20'
    D:\Sreram/hid.c:310: undefined reference to `_imp__SetupDiGetDeviceInterfaceDetailA@24'
    D:\Sreram/hid.c:324: undefined reference to `_imp__SetupDiGetDeviceInterfaceDetailA@24'
    D:\Sreram/hid.c:463: undefined reference to `_imp__SetupDiDestroyDeviceInfoList@4'
    c:/mingw/bin/../lib/gcc/mingw32/4.6.1/../../../libmingw32.a(main.o): In function `main':
    C:\MinGW\msys\1.0\src\mingwrt/../mingw/main.c:73: undefined reference to `WinMain@16'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Obvious that the linker has no clue about these functions which are defined in external library 'Setupapi.lib' & setupapi.dll and hence I tried linking the file by adding the command '-lsetupapi.lib' (without 's), '-llibsetupapi.a' and -l'setupapi.dll' in vain. The compiler says
c:/mingw/bin/../lib/gcc/mingw32/4.6.1/../../../../mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -llibsetupapi.a (with whatever linker option i give)
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
What am i doing wrong here?
And three: Even if i succeed in creating a working dll, will it work in other Windows operating systems - I know i had to create a separate library file (.so) in linux and whatever in mac - like Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, etc.?
Thanks for your patient replies and excuse me for such a long reply.

    What is happening here?
    Thanks in helping.

  • Time Capsule can't find AirPort

    Hi there,
I have just got an airport to back up my Mac OS 10.6.8 and have successfully connected it to the WiFi, and it is seen through ststem preferences but I want to use it as a back up tool too and when I go through Time Machine it can't find the device - any help would be great!

It's A1470, air port time capsule 802.11 ac.
Bit worried that it's not safe or time machine as that is the exact reason I bought it and was recommended it in the apple store?!
That is fine.. it is just you posted airport, not Time Capsule.. and what most people mean by airport is the extreme.
    Next problem..
The TC must not be properly setup. Indeed it is not possible to setup an AC model TC or AE using 10.6.8 OS so please tell us how you set it up.
I have just got an airport to back up my Mac OS 10.6.8 and have successfully connected it to the WiFi
How?? The 5.6 utility in SL cannot do it.
Are you using an iphone/ipad with the latest airport utility.
Once setup the older OS should be able to use it.. but it cannot do the setup.
Let me suggest you give us more details.
A few screenshots helps no end.
What are you seeing in the finder and airport utility?
Does the TC show up in Finder?
You said you can see it in system preferences.. sorry but I am not sure how.. please screenshot that as well.
As a setup method.. if you really have joined the TC to the existing wifi (unless it is an apple router) that is the worst possible seutp.
Please plug the TC WAN port into the main router LAN port by ethernet.
Reset the TC to factory and redo the setup.
Universal Factory Reset.. any model TC or AE.
Unplug your TC/AE from power or turn off at the power point.
Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on..  all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. (this is often difficult without a 2nd person or a 3rd arm).
Release it when the status light flashes rapidly. If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have missed it and try again.
    Note..
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations of the router.
No files are deleted on the hard disk in a TC.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

  • Dll on Tomcat 6 got UnsatisfiedLinkError ... Can't find dependent libraries

I created a dll file and it ran with no errors on the command line. But when i deployed it together with the java class file over to Tomcat 6.0\lib and ran it with a web application, Tomcat's log file reported:

         at org.brainml.analysisserver.queue.ProcessItemThread.run(ProcessItemThread.java:57)
    Here is what I did:
    Step 1: Compile and manifest

    mt.exe -manifest Binless.dll.manifest -outputresource:Binless.dll;2
The operating system is Windows XP and has the following environment variables:
    PATH=%JAVA_HOME%\bin;%LIBXMLDir%\bin;%ICONVDir%\bin;%GNUWINDir%\bin;%WINSDKDir%\bin;%MSVCDir%\bin;%MSVCDir%\..\Common7\IDE;%ZLIBDir%\bin;%systemroot%\system32;%systemroot%;%systemroot%\system32\wbem

    WINSDKDir=C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A
    MSVCDir=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC
Step 2: Compile the Java jni code
    javac -d ..\classes ..\server\Binless.java
    Step 3: Ran the code
    java -classpath ..\classes jni.test.test_binless
    Successful with no errors.
Step 4: Copied Binless.dll and Binless.class in a jar file (Binless.dll NOT in the jar file) to Tomcat 6.0\lib, and then ran a web application that called the Binless class.
Got UnsatisfiedLinkError (see above) in Tomcat's log file.
Am I missing something? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Problem:- Hi i was trying to gererate a dll through make file using CL command using visual studio 2005 on windows 2008 (64 bit) machine. Although i was able to generate DLL file but while using this DLL file by JNI it was throwing can't find dependent libraries.
    1. I used Dependency walker to check for dependent dll's(error on msvcr80.dll and etc).
    2. On visual studio 2005 there are certain things: Visit link http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms235342(v=vs.80).aspx
Solution:- I have added mt.exe -manifest ../../generated/MyLibrary.dll.manifest - outputresource:"../../generated/MyLibrary.dll;2" just after CL command ends. it runs successfully....
    cheers

  • Problem with "Unreferenced Symbol", phase 3, Can't find dependent libraries

now that I got every thing to work on Solaris, see my previous thread,
I'm bound to move on to Windows.
I can compile and link my C++ code but when it comes to execution I get an {color:#ff0000}<strong>UnsatisfiedLinkError</strong>{color}, complaining that it {color:#ff0000}<strong>Can't find dependent libraries</strong>{color}.
I am printing out the java.library.path property before loading my lib and it has the necessary path to all my libs in it.
    Here my 2 questions:
1.what do I need to do to get this to work on Windows?
2.is it mandatory that dependent libraries are also .dll's on Windows (the library my native code needs is a .lib)?
    Thomas

unfortunately, the exception does not say, what is missing:
    Exception in thread "Thread-6" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: I:\IcsBCM\Spectru

at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)the DLL dependency walker shows me, that my DLL depends on LIBGLOBL.DLL, which indeed does not exist.
So the big question is: why does my DLL reference this DLL?
Following the output of gmake (compilation and linkage):gmake -f Makefile.i386

Creating library CronSpec.lib and object CronSpec.expas can be seen, I'm linking with a library called *libGlobl.{color:#ff0000}lib{color}* (since it contains the C++ code I want to wrap).
But why/how is this turned into a reference to *libGlobl.{color:#ff0000}dll{color}?*
