SDK Java BO : Schedule and Prompts

Hi!
I am French, excuse me for my English ...
I have a problem to indicate when planning my reports, the values of prompts in my reports.
Here is my code:
                ISchedulingInfo scheduleInfo = null;
                IDestinations boDestinations;
                boolean sendInstance = true;
                IWebi webiDoc = (IWebi)boInfoObjects.get(0);
                scheduleInfo = webiDoc.getSchedulingInfo();
                scheduleInfo.getStatus();
                webiDoc.getWebiFormatOptions().setFormat(IWebiFormatOptions.CeWebiFormat.PDF);
                boDestinations = scheduleInfo.getDestinations();
                     IInfoObjects managedInfoObjects = iStore.query("Select SI_DEST_SCHEDULEOPTIONS, SI_PROGID From CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS Where SI_NAME = 'CrystalEnterprise.Managed'");
                     infoObject = (IInfoObject)managedInfoObjects.get(0);
                     IDestinationPlugin destinationPlugin = (IDestinationPlugin)infoObject;
                     IManaged managed = (IManaged)destinationPlugin;
                     IManagedOptions managedOptions = (IManagedOptions)managed.getScheduleOptions();
                     managedOptions.setDestinationOption(IManagedOptions.CeDestinationOption.ceInbox);
                     managedOptions.setTargetObjectName(nom);
                     managedOptions.setSendOption(IManagedOptions.CeManagedSendOption.ceShortcut);
                     managedOptions.setIncludeInstance(sendInstance);
                     IDestinations dests= scheduleInfo.getDestinations();
                     dests.add("CrystalEnterprise.Managed");
                     IDestination destination = (IDestination)scheduleInfo.getDestinations().get(0);
                     destination.setFromPlugin(destinationPlugin);
I do not know when this should happen?
If someone can help me ...
Thank you in advance!
I tested it without success:
                     if (webiDoc.hasPrompts())
                          webiDoc.getPrompts().set(0, "001");

  • Need help with java file scanner and objects

    Hi, i've got an assignment that asks me to do these, but i cant seem to get around in solving it. Any help will be much appreciated. TYVM!
    Create a class called TVProgram that can store some important details of a television program:
    - name of the show
    - the channel the show is on
    - the start time (in 24-hour format)
    - the end time (in 24-hour format)
    Write a program that uses this class.
    Your program will read a list of TV programs, making up a schedule for an evening's TV: for you convenience, you will be able to download a sample file listing. The listing will consist of one line for each of the above fields, in the above order, for each program, followed by a line containing only the "#" character. For example, here is the start of such a file.
    At the Movies
    ABC
    1800
    1830
    The Einstein Factor
    ABC
    1830
    1900
    Your program should start with a little menu to prompt whether to read from standard input or a file:
    Please choose a number for the way you will input the TV schedule:
    1. Read from standard input
    2. Input from a file
    Your program should first read the complete schedule, then loop through all the programs in the schedule and prompt the user as to whether they want to record the program or not. For example, the program should print:
    At the Movies is showing on ABC from 1800 to 18.30.
    Do you want to record it: type Y or N.
    If the user types Y then the program sets this T Vprogram to be recorded. If the user types N, the program goes to the next entry and prompts the user again. If the user types something other than a Y or N (or y or n), then the program should prompt for a proper answer:
    Do you want to record it: type Y or N.
    Once the complete schedule has been shown to the user, the program loops through those that the user has said they want to record and checks for any clashes---i.e. any times at which the user wants to record two programs at the same time. For any clashes, your program should show these to the user and insist that only one be selected for being recorded. For example:
    At 1830 you want to record both 1. The Einstein Factor on ABC and 2. The Biggest Loser on Ten.
    Please pick option 1 or 2 to record.
    Again, if the user selects an option other than 1 or 2 in the above, then the program should make the user to make another selection until they type a legal value.
    If the schedule is in time-start order (see "Assumptions" below), then a simple way to check for clashes is:
    - as you loop through the schedule of shows, keep track of the latest end-time the user wants to record;
    - if any program the user says they want to record has a start-time before this latest end-time, then this is a clash.
    There are different ways to keep track of clashes: you can keep an array (a list of clashes) of arrays (each of these is the list of clashing programs); you could create a Clash class.
    Finally, after going through all clashes, print out the list of programs that the user still wants recorded.
    Here is the list of programs that will be recorded for you:
    From 1830 to 1930, The Biggest Loser, on Ten.
    From 1930 to 2030, Who Do You Think You Are, on SBS

  • SAP BO Report Scheduling and Save as report using Java SDK

    Hi All,
    We have a java product which is integrated with SAP BO using Java SDK and we have certain java screen through which we select report prompt values and webi report gets run.
    Now we want to give a functionality to save report to BO repository.
    When user select certain check box from java screen a separate copy of the webi report should get saved under default folder on BO repository.
    Also, we want user to choose the scheduling option from java screen only (and not the one which we use from BI Launchpad) due to certain access restriction. User does not have access to BI Launchpad. Only he can run report by selecting values through Java screen.
    If i need to create a separate screen for scheduling as well as saving webi report then also i am ok with it.
    P.S. i guess we need to work on Java SDK level. But could somebody please help me with the right direction?
    Let me know in case requirement is not clear.

    Hi Ketan,
    As you are on version BI 4.0 SP5 and would be migrating to BI 4.1, the best SDKs to use would be the Restful Webservices SDKs.
    You have the options to schedule a webi report with prompts as well as the save feature which you require.
    Please refer to the webi restful guides avialble at
    For BI 4.0 SP5
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/xi4sp5_webi_restful_ws_en.pdf
    For BI 4.1 SP4

  • Filepath probs running Java w/ DOS and Java 2 SDK

    Please help! I have been trying to get a .class file to run for the past four days, using DOS to run the file. I have tried to enter every filepath I can -think- of, and the program still will not run. I have even tried running the file on others' computers that also have a Java 2 SDK...and still cannot get the file to run. However, I know for certain that the file is correct and is able to be run....so that means that somehow I am not putting in the right filepath. I guess my question is....what's the file path?
    Here's what I was told to do...which has not worked thus far...
    My Java SDK filepath is: C:/Java2SDK1.4.0
    I was instructed to open DOS, then, to get to here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop>I did so, and as instructed entered the filepath to the javac file inside the java sdk and after it, to put the filename with a .java extension. However, I ONLY have a class file. I don't have the .java file, nor was it ever handed to me.That filepath requested is: C:/Java2SDK1.4.0/bin/javac MathPrac.java
    I entered the filepath, so my DOS prompt looked like this before I hit the enter key:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop>C:/Java2SDK1.4.0/bin/javac MathPrac.javaI hit enter, and it gives me a LONG list of garbage. I even tried reversing the slash marks. Please help? This thing is due Monday and my instructor is refusing to return my emails. I don't want to fail this course due to an instructor being unwilling to assist a student, and a student having tried just about everything she could think of before finally coming here and asking for help.
    Would it matter if the SDK for some reason won't recognize my .java files either? I even tried doing the filepath with a file I KNOW should work...and on computers it should have worked on...and could not get it to accept my filepath.
    Any help would be very very very highly appreciated. Thanks!

    To run a .class file you have to use the java command (javac is the compiler which creates .class files from .java files). Try running
    C:\Java2SDK1.4.0\bin\java MathPrac
    Thank you for the suggestion, however when I attempted to run it, I got an error that said: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: MathPrac
    Isn't this an error that states that the name of the file and the class name inside the file are not the same? And if so, how can I check to see if they are the same if I don't have the .java file? I did double-check my spelling, tried it four times just to be sure.
    To ChuckBing:
    Hey, thanks for the tutorial! I'll take a look at that, too. It always helps to have other resources.
    To jwenting:
    <Grin>. Duly noted, and thanks. I was trying to keep from being -too- technical in my explanation of what was going on.

  • What is SDK Java for and...

    and can it help me to open some chat windows.(.it is some program SDK Java 4.0. )what for does it serves at all ..if somebody can explain me ......

    As far as I understand the full form of SDK is Software Developers Kit. It is a tool with which we develop programs. There is an SDK for Visual C++ and an SDK for Java. There can be a other SDKs for other languages.
    The SDK provides for classes and functions that can be used in your programs. Obviously it makes software development easier and faster. For example if you need to manage dates, use a timer you can either write a program from scratch or you can use date functions provided by the SDK to manage time.
    I am learning Java and under no circumstances can the above be taken as Bible.
    Thanks

  • How java runs in command prompt and why java runs on it

    how java runs in command prompt and why java runs on it

    command prompt was used before the development of IDEs like RAD,eclipse etc.
    its still used for better understanding of the compilation and errors.
    type the java file and save the file(source file) in the bin folder of ur jdk environment with extension .java. the source file must be the one that has the main method declared.
    in the cmd prompt screen , set the path of bin folder.
    eg:C:/program files/jdk(some version)/bin/...
    for compilation,type:
    javac (source file_name).java and press enter
    for running the file:
    java source file_name

  • Running java command from DOS prompt

    Hi,
    When I run java from the DOS prompt (NT) in any other location than the JDK bin directory, I get the following error:
    Error opening registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment'
    My understanding is to be able to run this from anywhere you need to add the tools.jar file to the CLASSPATH, which I have done.
    There is no entry in the Registry for Software\JavaSoft...etc, has anyone any idea what my problem is and how I can solve it?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    I am running Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition Version 1.2.2 running on NT. It was installed as part of Oracles JDeveloper IDE and is running on NT.
    All I want to be able to do is run java from the command line e.g. 'java myclass', to run a standalone Java program. I can run 'javac myclass.java' to compile the program without any problems, but my understanding is that to do this all I need is to have the '.../java1.2/bin' directory included in the 'PATH' variable, whereas to run the java runtime you need to include the tools.jar in the CLASSPATH variable.
    As I said previously I can run the 'java myclass' command from the '../java1.2/bin' directory, just not from anywhere else. As for whats in the code, does not matter you should be able to type just java on the command line and it will come back with an error prompting for the class name. Here is an example of what happens:
    I:\>java
    Error opening registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment'
    However if I change to the correct directory, I get:
    D:\oracle\JDev32\java1.2\bin>java
    Usage: java [-options] class [args...]
    (to execute a class)
    or java -jar [-options] jarfile [args...]
    (to execute a jar file)
    where options include:
    -cp -classpath <directories and zip/jar files separated by ;>
    set search path for application classes and resources
    -D<name>=<value>
    set a system property
    -verbose[:class|gc|jni]
    enable verbose output
    -version print product version
    -? -help print this help message
    -X print help on non-standard options
    The contents of my PATH and CLASSPATH variable are shown below, Thanks again.
    I:\>PATH

  • Java Not Working, And Still No Answers. What Gives?

    Okay, decided to start this topic anew, since the only response I got to the other one was a post calling me "rude and impatient" (I guess that's what they're calling "persistence" nowadays..) , instead of...well...ignoring my admittedly pushy and harsh tone and actually being helpful. However, for the sake of it, I do apologize for my attitude in my last topic.
    But I digress, let's start off on a new foot, eh? On to the problem that is STILL at hand(in other words, "patience" hasn't gotten me jack, not even a "we don't know yet"):
    So last night (10 PM January 20th), the Firefox Plugin Checker said that my Java version was outdated. I also got a pop-up saying that my current version of Java at the time (Java 7 update 10) had vulnerabilities. So to try and fix this, I went to the Java page and downloaded the update (Java 7 update 11).
    To check and see if my update was working, I went to Java's check page, as well as another page I use. And here I discovered a problem. I got a notification that an old version of Java had been detected, and another prompt to download the current version (which I had already done). So I erased all versions of Java from my control panel, and tried to check it again. And when I did, I got this: http://oi50.tinypic.com/35b6xx2.jpg and http://oi47.tinypic.com/15fg37p.jpg.
    As you can see, both pages tell me that I need to install a missing plugin of some sort. So, thinking this would resolve the issue, I clicked the Install Missing Plugin button. This is what it told me was missing: http://oi45.tinypic.com/302uwbl.jpg. So I clicked next to install it.... and got this: http://oi45.tinypic.com/2cici0x.jpg, which I assume means that the plugin did not install. So I pressed Manual Install... and was lead/linked right back to the Java download page (where it all began, and what doesn't seem to be working in the first place)
    I go to check my plugins again (Just to make sure and also for extra information), and it appears to say that my Java version is current (is that what "Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.110.21" is? I don't know, I am not good at technology at all. Either way, here is what it looks like: http://oi48.tinypic.com/4kxzz4.jpg). So...if it is current, why is it not working (i.e. I am unable to play games, DO MY COLLEGE CLASSWORK, or play Java-based games)?
    If it helps anything, here is what my control panel looks like in regards to Java right now: http://oi45.tinypic.com/2qlxu9t.jpg Am I missing anything that would make Java work?
    And before anyone says that Java is not essential: It may be that way to you, but I need Java to do classwork for college. Veterinary college.
    So, in short, what is going on with Java, and how can I fix it?
    EDITEDITEDIT: I Have found that I can do my classwork without Java. HOWEVER, this DOES NOT mean that the problem is solved or over with. I STILL WANT TO KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND GET JAVA TO WORK. Even if I never actually need it, I would still like to have a (working!!!) Java version because of two reasons: 1) I would rather have such a program and not need it, than need such a program and not have it, and 2) aesthetics. Sorry to say, but I am very particular about how things look when it comes to my belongings, and the fact that Java is messing up is making me actually stressed. In short, I still want the above issue solved, even if it's just purely for the sake of Peace Of Mind.
    Another note: I would (please!) appreciate a timely response on this matter. Even if the response is a "We don't know what the issue is and/or we are working to solve this issue.", that would satisfy me for the time being. I would just like a semi-timely response that would let me know that FF/contributors here have read the above and actually give a semblance of a care about their userbase.
    Thank You.

    '''ponyparty, '''
    The first prompt you see in Firefox to activate Java is because Java is currently on the Mozilla blocklist ( the "Hot Topic" article [[How to use Java if it's been blocked]] explains the reason for block and how to activate Java, including how to bypass the plugin activation prompt for trusted sites).
    cor-el is right about why you are seeing a second [http://oi48.tinypic.com/de8f8y.jpg Java "Security Warning"] when trying to view Java applets, that you have to click to run. This is a ''' Java''' security feature and not anything Firefox does.
    Try the same Java sites in Internet Explorer .... don't you also see the Java "Security Warning?" If you want to lower your Java security back to "Medium" in the Java Control Panel, see http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/jcp.html#security for details. That's up to you but I would leave it on "High " since Java 7 is still basically insecure, according to the reports I've seen and [https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2013/01/11/protecting-users-against-java-vulnerability/ this "Protecting Users Against Java Vulnerability]" Mozilla blog post.
    If the second Java prompt is your only remaining issue then your problem is really solved, since it is a new Java security feature and not anything in Firefox.

    At the time I was helping you in the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/944267 older thread you started] (now locked because you started this one) the solution to uninstall JavaFX wasn't known. On Dec 13th I wrote, ''There may be problems with Java 7 Update 10 since a number of Windows users have reported that Firefox is not detecting the plugin'' and I linked to a couple of related threads, including [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2628935 this MozillaZine thread], in which uninstalling JavaFX as a solution was posted 22 Dec 2012. On 25 Dec 2012 in the same MozillaZine thread, I posted a link to [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=820759#c12 this Dec 24th bugzilla comment] by an Oracle employee, who posted that uninstalling JavaFX was a solution for '''Oracle's''' Java 7 detection bug. Oracle has been working on the bug (to be fixed in an upcoming Java 7 release) and they created [https://www.java.com/en/download/help/firefox_java.xml this java.com help page], which is now included in the related MozillaZine and Mozilla Support articles on Java that I posted above.

  • Java Web Start and DeployDirector: What's the difference?

    I am the product manager for DeployDirector at Sitraka (now part of Quest Software). I'm NOT in sales; I'd simply like to provide you with some information.
    From talking with DeployDirector users and evaluators, and from my own discussions with the folks at Sun, I have discovered that there is great deal of confusion about the difference between Java Web Start and DeployDirector. I'd like to clarify this by periodically posting some information about the two.
    Though the products seem similar in concept, they are designed for different purposes. They both deploy, auto-update and manage the JRE for client-side Java applications, but beyond that, they are quite different.
    Java Web Start is ideally designed for applications deployed over the Internet, where application-provider trust is an issue. Why? The security sandbox guarantees that application can do no harm. (There's some good information about Java Web Start and sandbox apps on ScheduleWorld at http://www.scheduleworld.com/itsYourLife.html) Web Start's architecture simply consists of a client piece that interprets a JNLP file. Because of the sandbox and its simplicity, I believe JWS is best used for independent software vendors, independent developers, etc.
    Because DeployDirector is ideally designed for internal enterprise applications, it does not enforce the security sandbox. Trust is not an issue here, because internal users typically trust their internal IT group. DeployDirector's architecture consists of both a client and a server piece, which allows us to support more complex deployment and update scenarios (e.g., scheduled and optional updates) and applications management capabilities like rollback, reporting, exception monitoring, authentication/authorization out of the box. All of this is configured through the DeployDirector administration console.
    In some situations, DeployDirector may be unnecessary overhead. In other situations, Java Web Start simply does not provide enough capability and building in this into Web Start can be difficult.
    If you'd like more information, we have whitepapers and case studies (including one specifically about DeployDirector and JWS) available on our website at http://www.sitraka.com/software/deploydirector/
    If you'd like to discuss some of these differences, or if you have questions about DeployDirector, feel free to email me directly. (Or post here, of course.)

    Hi Gerald,
    Given what I know about your emnity towards DeployDirector (which is clearly illustrated in this thread: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?thread=348061&forum=38&message=1446155 that was evidently a response to this article: http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-11-2002/jw-1122-autoupdate.html) I'm going to take a (pardon the expression) "don't feed the trolls" approach here.
    I'm simply re-iterate that JNLP, and its implementations such as Web Start and OpenJNLP, are designed for a very different set of users that DeployDirector. The differences in functionality between the two products reflect that.
    The enterprise has different requirements in a deployment mechanism for its internal, critical applications than software vendors and independant developers. DeployDirector addresses the requirements of the enterprise. Frankly, most of our recent customers only chose to buy the product after initially rejecting it and (unsucessfully) attempting to use JNLP and Web Start. Sometimes people only learn the hard way: different users have different requirements which are suited to different tools or technologies.

  • Handling exception logging in a Java task scheduler program?

    I need to design a Task Scheduler Where
    1) User should be able to schedule multiple task at the same time.
    2) There should be proper error handling on failure of any task and should not affect the other running tasks.
    I found the related programme at http://www.roseindia.net/java/example/java/util/CertainAndRepeatTime.shtml
    My concern is about handling of point 2 in program provided at above link. Say I schedule a recurring mail send process in above program which will be run first time on 12 september 2011 at 2 am, and will be repeated after every 2 hours Say a one process fais at 8 am. I want to log it in log file with task name and time details. Now if I look at above programme i.e CertainAndRepeatTime.java. This program will exit once it schedules all the tasks. Where and how should handle the logging?
    Posted at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7377204/handling-exception-logging-in-a-java-task-scheduler-program but folks suggesting Quartz scheduler . My Limitation is that i can't for quartz because my project allows me to use only standard java library. Is there any way we can handle logging in the same programme in case of exception.

    Well, first of all I wouldn't trust any code from roseindia. So you might want to look for more reliable advice.
    As for your logging, you can add it for example to the TimerTask itself. I don't recommend adding logging to that roseindia cr*p though.

  • Timer works with Java 1.4 and not Java 1.3 - Why?!

    I am totally lost. I can run this bit of code in java 1.3 and all works fine...
         ActionListener alarmtask = new ActionListener(){
               public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent event){
                  decrementClock();
                  setDisplay();
            alarm = new Timer(1000, alarmtask);Then later...
            alarm.start();But when I run it using Java 1.4 it does nothing. The decrementClock() method is never called. I have checked if alarm.isRunning(); and it is.... it seems that the actionPerformed() message never gets to alarmtask.
    Please help!
    Thanks
    LT

    I don't know whether this helps, but:
    The Installer copies the java.exe and javaw.exe files into c:\{windows\winnt}\system32 which is on the path variable by default. These files are copied from the JRE, not the SDK.
    Try use:
    ...\> java[w] -showversion your.Classto ensure it's actually the intended version.
    It's hard to believe yet that this is the problem... another idea: is it possible that you change CLASSPATH along with this, such that it points to an outdated version of your implementation?

  • I there any dependcy between Java Enterprise Edition and Java standard Edit

    Hi Friends,
    Is J2EE 1.4 uses Java SDK 1.4 or 1.5.Please reply as earlier as possible.It is urgent
    Thanks
    Bye

    Each version of the Java EE platform must be able to run on the associated version of the Java SE platform. So, J2EE 1.4 must be able to run on J2SE 1.4 , Java EE 5 must be able to run on Java SE 5, etc. Note that this doesn't mean a particular implementation of Java EE can't be run with a more recent version of the JDK. For example, the J2EE 1.4 SDK can be run with J2SE 1.4 or Java SE 5. The key is that both the implementation of the Java EE platform and the applications written to that particular release of the platform must write to the corresponding Java SE version API. In other words, neither a J2EE 1.4 implementation nor a J2EE 1.4 application should make use of an API that was added in Java SE 5.

  • Checkin a file in TFS SDK java

    Hi,
    I am working on TFS SDK (java)and i want to checkin the file so that it will the latest file will be copied to TFS.
    I am using pendEdit and it is not helping me to do the needfull.It is just changing the permissions but not moving the file on to TFS.
    example: I have a file in my system which i have changed it and want to checkin back to the TFS. When i say view in TFS it has to be updated with the latest file.
    Can some one help me out with this issue.
    Regards,
    Shirish Bhat.

    Hi Shirish,
    you can use this same method workspace.checkIn(pendingChanges, comment) and pass in the pendingChanges only the files you want to checkin. You can first query for all the pending changes then filter the ones that you need to checkin like this:
    PendingSet pendingSet = workspace.getPendingChanges();
    if(pendingSet !=
    null)
                PendingChange[] pendingChanges = pendingSet.getPendingChanges();
                List<PendingChange>
    changesToCheckin = new ArrayList<PendingChange>();
                for (PendingChange change:pendingChanges)
                   if (change.getLocalItem()!=null && change.getLocalItem.equals            (FileNameToCheckin))
                             changesToCheckin.add(change);
    if (changesToCheckin.size() != 0)
                    workspace.checkIn(changesToCheckin.toArray(), comment);
    Please let me know if this does not work for you or you have any questions about it
    Thanks
    Mireille
