SDM - RemoteGUI.bat not starting

Hello Team,
I have downloaded the SDM file directory to file local system and when i execute the command "RemoteGUI.bat" file i am able to connect through the SDM and i was able to deploy the EAR etc files.
But after upgrading from IBM JVM to SAP JVM i am unable to connect to SDM(SDM file directory which is present in my local system is when my JVM is IBM , still i am using the same).
And when i execute the RemoteGUI.bat file, i am getting "Your device is not ready" Please use password and XXX18 port number.
Could you please explain me, why i am getting this error, and how to resolve this issue.
Thanks
Best Regards,
Manoj K

Hi Vipin,
Thanks for your reply.
I have resolved this issue.
Please follow the below steps to access the SDM using "RemoteGui.bat".
1) For example if your WebAS Java is installed in any of the OS(AIX,UNIX etc)
         a) Please copy the SDM directory form the server to your local desk(/usr/sap/<SID>/J<xxx>/SDM.
2) After copying the SDM directory to your local disk (Path - > D:\SDM), Please change the below file properties first by default this properties will be called when you execute the "RemoteGui.bat".
localsdmgui.properties file properties as mentioned below
#Fri Dec 16 08:10:35 CET 2011
localGUIClientHost=0.0.0.0
workingHost=XXXXXX(provide your host name)
localGUIClientPort=0
workingDirectory=XXXX(provide your Local working directory)
workingPort=50018
workingFrogTheme=Bright Harmonic
workingLookAndFeel=com.sap.plaf.frog.FrogLookAndFeel
3) If you are copied the SDM directory in the D:\SDM locak disk, Please update the same paths in the below two property files.
              RemoteGUI.bat
              sdm_prep_com.bat
4) Double click the RemoteGui.bat file, so that you will be able to see the SDM UI , here you can connect to SDM server.
Thanks

  • SDM server does not start (J2EE)

    Hi,
currently i'm trying the Calculator example, But when it comes to deployment, NetWeaver couldn't connect to the SDM Server.
It seems that this server wasn't startet. The problem is, i'm not able to start this server and i don't know why.
In the Management Console i see the following nodes (my pc is named STGN0017):
    + STGN0017
    + STGN0017 1 (<b>green</b>)
        - Process List (<b>green</b>)
             msg_server.exe (Running)

        - Process List (<b>yellow</b>)
             jcontrol.exe (some process running)(<b>yellow</b>)
             igswd.exe (Running) (<b>green</b>)
        - Process Table
             dispatcher (Running)
             server0 (Stopped; Exitcode:-2; Restart:No)
             SDM (Stopped; Exitcode:0; Restart:No)
When i open the J2EE View (Window > ShowView > J2EE Engine) i see the following:
    Remote engine
    + localhost:3601
      + J2E instance 00 on stgn0017 (<b>yellow</b>)
        - dispatcher (<b>green</b>)
        - SDM (<b>red</b>)
        - server0 (<b>red</b>)
If i try to investigate the server with a Browser i get the following message (Adress: http://localhost:50000/):
Dispatcher running but no server connected!
Has anyone an idea how to solve this? Restart in the MMC doesn't help.
I have installed SneakPreview15. But before, SneakPreview 14 was installed. Th installation of 14 crashed during database setup and i removed all files i could find and did a system recovery before installing 15.

  • RemoteGui.bat Login attempt failed:connection refuse to SDM

    Heloo Guru's,
I am trying to deploy service via running path: D:\usr\sap\XIG\DVEBMGS00\SDM\program <b>RemoteGui.bat</b> file .
I am giving password for SDM user but error coming on clicking login button
Error:could not establish connection to server <host> at port <50018>:connection refused:connect.
    Please advise.

    Hi Gaurav,
You can find the SDM configuration file in \usr\sap\<system_id>\<instance no>\SDM\program\config with file name sdmrepository.sdc. In this file you will find your sdm host name and gui port number (default 50018). You change it from here and restart the server if its not set properly.
Go to the mmc, select your serve node, expand instance 0 and look at the process table, you should have dispatcher / server0 and SDM nodes with their states set as started.
It is possible that SDM was kept in standalone mode and not started with your server. If that is the case
    Run sdm jstartup "mode=integrated"
    restart your cluster.
    Regards,
    Prateek

    Hello,
I installed the WAS testdrive on Linux SUSE 9.3 and the SNDS on WinXP.

  • Could not start SDM Server - another Server may be running already

    Hi
I have some problems with SDM after upgrade to SP16.
Right now i can't neither start it, nor change password..
it has an error but i don't understand it, because i have only one instance and the server is stopped.
I'm enclosing the error, please, if you have some ideas let me know.
    Thank you.

A lot of thanks of your answer (both of you)..
None of the prerequisits of the note exists on my system.
"1)There is a started SDM server on the system. All SDM commands have to be executed when there is no started SDM server. Or SDM port is busy by another application."
Server is on red color. I had reseted all tha instance, nobody use it, any applications.
"2)2. The executed command can be run only if SDM is in standalone mode."
Yes, i ran before the next command:  Execute :
    sdm jstartup "mode=standalone" "sdmhome=C:/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/SDM/program"
"3. SDM port is busy by another application."
the port is only used for sdm wich is off...
Anyway, in order to get the solution, i started with the steps described on the note, but i had a problem with the StopServer.bat
           3.Run
                   StopServer.bat  (for Windows)
When i run it, i got another message (i though a similar one):
    "Sending shutdown on port 50018
Shutdown failed: SDM currently runs in monolithic mode. Logons cannot be accepted.
    Could not shutdown server.
Details: Shutdown failed: SDM currently runs in monolithic mode. Logons cannot be accepted.
    Processing error. Return code:4"
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

    Hi George,
    Thnx for your reply.
I have stopped all Application servers and kept only the CI-DB instances running.Retried deploying the ESS packages but still getting the same error.
Have checked the Visual admin,it is not in SAFE mode,it working normally.
Have alos checked the CLUSTER Manager Property Values in both Visual Admin & Config Tool, they are alright.
About the Cluster Resources, can you pls specify what exactly do you mean by "Cluster Resources are running or not".
I think if the application servers are stopped, then the Cluster resources shudnt come into play right?? Correct me if I am wrong.
Kindly suggest what other steps I shud take.

  • NW4:  SDM could not start the J2EE cluster on the host nw4host

    Hello,
in NW4 i get this error when i try to deploy the welcome webdynpro:
SDM could not start the J2EE cluster on the host nw4host! The online deployment is terminated. JStartup Framework is not able to deliver an information about the cluster control instances! Please check the status of the J2EE Engine.
I am using NW4 (built 28.9.04) on Suse 9.0 and the corresponding IDE (2.04) on Windows 2000.
In the J2EE view of the IDE everything (SDM, Dispatcher and Server) is green. I can start the examples on port 50000. According to systeminfo everything is running.
I searched in OSS and found Note 738402. But there is no EOF in the SDM-logfile. And when i started the J2EE-Configtool the value for "admin/host/SID" is not localhost.
    Any hints?
    Regards,
    Nico.

    Hello,
    > Developer Studio -> Preferences -> SAP J2EE Engine ?
of course. Every icon (SDM, Dispatcher and server) is green in the J22E-View of the IDE. I still get this error message.
    Regards,
    Nico.

Any Idea what can be wrong? we have even restarted de AIX Server and starting all the services and it is still not working.
    Thanx in Advanced!
    Gerardo J

    Hi Gerardo,
I encountered exactly the same error, but had a different solution as I was expecting from the error-message.
In my case I was forced by the Visual Administrator to change the administration password, since the time was up on it. But as the password for the Visual Administrator is saved within the database, the password for the SDM is stored within the secure store (file-system) and changing the password just in VA will not automatically change it also in the secure store. But since both passwords for the internal usage need to be equalized, I encountered problems afterwards when trying to deploy something and I got the same error message. However the sense of restriction is meant here, the solution on it was rather simple as follows (Just note that you need to enter a dummy-password first, before setting the correct one similar to your visual administrator):
    1. create a telnet session to your J2EE using a command line shell
    2. enter "jump 0" to get on the correct node within your J2EE
    3. enter "add user" to gain access to user-specific commands
    4. enter "password <Administrator> <temporarily new password>"
    5. exit
    6. create another telnet session to your J2EE using a command line shell
    7. after succeeded the login, you will now be forced to enter a new password - so enter "password <Administrator> <origin password of the Visual Administrator>"
    8. exit
    9. now start the config-tool of the engine
    10. apply to the DB-default-question with "yes"
    11. select the Secure Store on the left
    12. select the entry "admin/password/..." that you can see it in the bottom lines.
    13. click "Remove" to delete it from the list
    14. set the password similar to the Visual Administrator password within the "Value" line (take care as you can not see the digits).
    15. click "Add" to add it back to the list
    16. click the disc symbol in the top of the UI to save the new password (if you don't get a dialog afterwards that the data has been stored, something may hasn't worked fine when removing/adding the password-entry, in this case repeat the action on it).
    17. After exiting the config-tool, you need to restart the entire J2EE.
    18. Your hopefully finished by success ;o))
    Best regards
    Jochen

  • Application server will not start up

    Hello,
I have read quite a few topics concerning this problem, and have tried many things but without success.
I am running on Windows XP Pro. The installation goes fine, but when I run a project, the application server cannot start, and I get a message after quite a long time saying that it can't start and to check my port numbers, etc.
I used to have Sun Java Creator, but I uninstalled it. I tried deleting the \Windows\System32\productregistry file. I tried uninstalling completely and reinstalling in C:\Sun\Creator2, but the problem is still the same. I tried deleting the domain with "asadmin" and recreating it, but I still get the problem.
I am posting all the relevant information from the logs, hopin someone will be able to help me out....

Here's a bit more information : the output of the C:\Sun\Creator2ea2\SunAppServer8\domains\creator\logs\server.log file :
[#|2006-01-14T15:42:08.188+0100|WARNING|sun-appserver-pe8.1_02|javax.enterprise.tools.launcher|_ThreadID=10;|LAUNCHER005:Spaces in your PATH have been detected. The PATH must be consistently formated (e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin; ) or the Appserver may not be able to start and/or stop.  Mixed quoted spaces in your PATH can cause problems, so the launcher will remove all double quotes before invoking the process. The most reliable solution would be to remove all spaces from your path before starting the Appservers components.  |#]

  • BPEL Server can not start after jazn default realm has been modified

    Hi, everyone:
In order to customize my user task assigneeGroup, I set up a new realm in the jazn-data.xml using the shell (java -jar jazn.jar -shell). I tried to modify the jazn.xml file in %OraBPELPM%\integration\orabpel\system\appserver\oc4j\j2ee\home\config, and set the default-realm attribute to my new realm.
After these modification, the BPEL Server can not start, the server seems to stop after loading the first two EJB.
Does anyone ever encounter this problem? Could anyone help me?

It appears that I had the wrong oracle home and as a result some of the steps were skipped by the Universal Installer during installation, but installation was still claimed as successful. Even by launching the 'Mobile Server Repository Wizard' manually by running 'repwizard.bat' did not provide all the necessary window boxes to provide the details such as the SID, hostname, port number. I re-installed.
After starting the back-end database and then starting mobile server and testing in IE to see if the server was working by typing in http://<host name>:80/webtogo, I got the screen displaying mobile server.
    Many thanks for your help.
    Mark
