Search help for user field for WBS element

Hi,
how can I add a search help to one of the user fields for WBS elements without modification? Is there an exit which I can use? I want to have a search help for field PRPS-USR02.

Create an elementary serach help using the Table USR01 or USR03
see the steps
1) Elementary search helps describe a search path. The elementary search help must define where the data of the hit list should be read from (selection method), how the exchange of values between the screen template and selection method is implemented (interface of the search help) and how the online input help should be defined (online behavior of the search help).
2) Collective search helps combine several elementary search helps. A collective search help thus can offer several alternative search paths.
3)An elementary search help defines the standard flow of an input help.
4) A collective search help combines several elementary search helps. The user can thus choose one of several alternative search paths with a collective search help.
5)A collective search help comprises several elementary search helps. It combines all the search paths that are meaningful for a field.
6)Both elementary search helps and other search helps can be included in a collective search help. If other collective search helps are contained in a collective search help, they are expanded to the level of the elementary search helps when the input help is called.
CREATION:
Go to SE11 Tcode
select search help
give the 'z' search help name and create
select the selection method ur table name eg : 'mara'
dialog module 'display value immediately'.
add the field whatever u want and lpos = 1 and spos = 1 and check import and export parameter.
where left position when displaying and spos = search position
and then save and activate ..

Search Help error : Invalid field format Screen error

Hi All,
I have attached a search help to contract field for contract no and item number. (in my own screen developed in a report)
The search help picks up data and assigns it to the fields,
But after this when I click on any other button, I get error saying :
Invalid Field Format (Screen Error) !!!
Any pointers guys !!!

screen checks in abapautomatically checks for format of field when u enter data....i.e date, integer etc...the problem in this case is that when u seelct a value using the help it is filling a value which is not the correct format...so check for the data types and test it again...this is definitely the problem.

Field key for User fields

For some reason it seems that the Field key for User fields is shared between WBS and Network Activity. We use it for WBS-elements, but I want to close the User Fields tab for network activity.
When I try to remove it for ntw activity I get the tab back with a red triangle, saying that fields are necessary...
Any help is greatly apreciated.

Anjali, If We Remove the field key from the network profile. This will still display the user filed tab, but the same will be in display mode and having drop down for the user field selection. The movement we select this drop down the filed will become input as per settings.
And I peruse that PS user wanted to delete the tab. Please verify my observation.

Error Individual check for creating the object WBS Element required

I've a requirement to create WBS elements using BAPI. And I am using BAPIs in the following manner.

Hi Karthikeya,
I think the project profile which you are using has a different mask and the WBS element you are passing is different to the BAPI.
Are you able to create manually from CJ01 using the same WBS element?
Create a project manually and it will give the list of the mandatory fields set in the config. Using that list populate the BAPI struture accordingly.

Do you mean 'field key' in the project profile in SPRo?
I think after a project is created a change in the field key wont affect the fields in CJ20N..

Confused regarding v$session shows 'sys' in 'user' field for scott,

hi all,
new to oracle, little confused about why v$session view shows 'sys' in 'user' field for scott user connected, while user# shows id of scott and schema is also of scott is being used.
i am using oracle 9i on a rhel3, logged in(client: sqlplus, db user: scott) from the same os user 'oracle' used by sys on a standalone test machine.

Eventing on dictionary search help on date field

Hi Experts,
In my WDABAP application I have a Date input field. I have used dictionary search help into this field to display calender searc help.
Now on select of the date from the calender I want to trigger one event which will enable some other fields in the application.
Can you please tell me how to implement this on select event of the date.

Hi,
Since you are using an Input Field , only event possible is "On Enter" event.This event is triggered when "enter" key is pressed by the user after selecting a value in the input field.So may be you can use this and proceed further.
Although it may not serve you the actual requirement that you have to achieve , because input field does not have any event for "On select".

Search Help in a Field Exit

Hi all, i would like to know if it is possible to put a search help in a Field exit or if there is some other way to create a searh help for a standard field of a standard trax. the Search help i need is for a date that is not contemplated by SAP.

For example i have the field section in fch5. as it did not use that field (char 10) i was needing to input a date that was not contemplated by SAP. So i use this field 'section' to do this. this field has a field exit that validate the date, because it is a char field. i did this with FM RP_CHECK_DATE, so if the user enter 12.56.2006 an E message is displayed. My question is: is it possible to put a search help of date in that field?

Adding Search help to a field of standard transction

hi experts,
i m new to abap.
my pp consultant wants that in transaction MM03, for the field on selection screen (Material) one more search help should be added. and on pressing f4 it should be displayed there with other search options.
The search field is "(Document)-Number of the drawing that exists for this object".
Note: To see this field run transaction MM03, enter a material and press enter then we get a screen to choose a view. choose basic data2. In the block "design drawing" there is a field for "Document".
is it possible? if yes how much time it would take and to do it.
how should i go about it.

The Matchcode is replaced by search help from the version 4.6C.
I will tell u how create the search help.
Name of a search help
A search help is an object of the ABAP Dictionary with which input helps
(F4 helps) can be defined.
There are the following types of search helps:
o Elementary search helps implement a search path for determining the
possible entries.
o Collective search helps contain several elementary search helps. A
collective search help therefore provides several alternative search
paths for possible entries.
o Append search helps can be used to enhance collective search helps
delivered by SAP with customer-specific search paths without
requiring a modification.
The three components of the input help process described by a search
help are the outer interface, the online behavior and the method of data
Go to Tcode SE11. Select the search help radio button.
Give name as ztest and click create

Attaching a search help to a field
A search help can influence the behavior of a field when the input help is called. The search help must be assigned to the field in order to do this. You have the following options for this assignment:
Attach search help to a data element / table or structure field / screen field / check table.
Conventionally search helps are attached to table fields or data elements. We shall see the same.
Attaching a search help to a table field
Choose the field name, click on search help tab and
provide the name of the search help.
A search help is attached to a field of a table or structure in the maintenance transaction for this table/structure, analogously to attaching to a table. You must assign the interface parameters of the search help to any fields of the table/structure. The search field must be assigned to an EXPORT parameter of the search help at this time.
Attach the search help to the table field
The search help ZSTRAVELAG_NAME is therefore directly attached to the field AGENCYNUM of table ZSTRAVELAG.
Attaching a search help to a data element
Provide the search help name and the parameter name
under the further characteristics tab of the data element.
If the input help of a field is defined by its data element, no further screen fields can be used in the input help.
Also note that the input F4 help would be available wherever the data element is used.
Attaching a search help to a screen element
A search help can be directly assigned to a screen field in two ways.
The name of the search help must be entered in the Screen Painter in the Attributes for the field in the field Search help.
The name of the search help can be defined for selection screens in ABAP reports in the PARAMETERS or SELECT-OPTIONS statement directly following the supplement MATCHCODE OBJECT.
However, input help is only available for this particular screen.
In this case, the search help is only available for this screen.

In QAPP table, i want to attach customized Search Help to USERN2 field. So i take access key for that data element but still it's not modifiable mode.
so can you please tell me how to attach search help to that field.

Hi,
Goto to the table QAPP, goto the entry help/check tab and in that keep the cursor on the field USERN2 and press the search help button below the tab and you can insert the search help only if you have the access key to changes.

Search help ehancement of field in t-code F-02.

Hi all,
I want to ehance a filed's search help in t-code f-02.
requirement is as below.
when you click one field's sech help in t-code f-02. A search help pop-up window will display. In this pop-up window, there are several tabs. I want to add a new tab in this pop-up window.
In this new tab, I want to add 2 new fields (for example, company code & bank code) in this tab. each tab also has search help.
And also if I input value "1000" in the company code field, the search help value of field bank code will automatically relate to "1000".
could anyone give me a solution or suggestion?

1. You can add new fields in the complex search help of the field
by editing the search help exit. please check search help have any search help exit attached to it.

Assign Printer Search Help to XREF1 field in FB70/75.

Hi All
I have a requirement where for a particular company code only I need to assign the printer search help to the field Reference Key 1 (XREF1) on the 'Detail' tab of FB70 & FB75.
Is this feasible? If yes, can anyone please guide me.
