Search Help in MMYYYY format

Hi,
I need a Serach Help that will display a calendar but only with Month/Year. So the user would select, for example, January 2007.
I know I can code a solution to do this (so no need to post code here, thanks) but just wondering if there is an existing F4 help that might do the same.

Date format error in Search help

Hi,
I am using standard search help in my ABAP webdynpro application.It is related to payscale group (field P0008-TRFGR). It works fine if I do not specify any date but gives a error message "Enter date in the format __.__.____ " irrespective of the date format I use to enter.
Any pointers ?

Try following things:
1) check separator / instead of .
2) date in format mm.dd.yyyy or dd.mm.yyyy
3) enter date through search help
4) enter 0 before one digit month or day i.e. 02/02/2009 instead of 2/2/2009

Search Help error : Invalid field format Screen error

Hi All,
I have attached a search help to contract field for contract no and item number. (in my own screen developed in a report)
The search help picks up data and assigns it to the fields,
But after this when I click on any other button, I get error saying :
<b>Invalid Field Format (Screen Error) !!!</b>

screen checks in abapautomatically checks for format of field when u enter data....i.e date, integer etc...the problem in this case is that when u seelct a value using the help it is filling a value which is not the correct format...so check for the data types and test it again...this is definitely the problem.

SELECT-OPTIONS Values via DYNP_VALUES_READ in a Search Help Exit

Hi all,
I appended a standard search help of a standard report with a search help of my own. Now I am trying to retrieve the values the user has entered into the selection screen of the report using the FM DYNP_VALUES_READ in my search help exit FM. It works fine for single values defined by PARAMETERS and for low and high values of SELECT-OPTIONS (so_example-LOW and so_example-HIGH), but I need the entire SELECT-OPTIONS table. I cannot make any changes in the report, so do you have any solutions I could implement in my search help exit FM?

I found several questions on this topic but they either just different enough not to be applicable in my case or the formatting has made the replies useless.

Most of the time we just copy the standard FM F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE to a new one and give our own name.
You can see that on the 12th line there is the following code

you should comment those line in order for the control to reach the PRESEL step (which is already defined in the SH Exit FM) which is on line 44.
Most of the time, when someone says they don't hit PRESEL, this is the problem.

Search Help Error while Publishing Query in Explorer

Hi All,
We have upgraded BW from version 3.1 to BI 7.0. SP level is 15. When we publish query in Explorer, selection screen appears, we get error in selecting variable(Fiscal Year/Period) entries from search help. After selecting a value from a list of possible entries, the format is changed on the screen.
For example:
If we select 002.2002 for variable FiscalYear/Period, we get
002 02 i.e. it is truncating 20 from 2002.
Now, we have to manually enter the values.
While executing query in BEx analyser, no such error occurs.
What will be the solution?

how to set search help property for the I/O fields in screen in se80?
1. do we want to add any property for search help in the property window?
2.do we want to create a MODULE PROCESS ON VALUE REQUEST ?

Input Help on the Screen
Within the Screen Painter, you can define two types of input help:
1. The FIELD statement with one of the additions VALUES or SELECT.
2. Linking a search help directly to a screen field.
If you link a search help directly to a screen field, it overrides the additions of the FIELD
statement. However, the input check [Page 581] functions of the FIELD statement remain
unaffected.
Input Help in Flow Logic
The following input help methods are obsolete and should not be used. They are still supported
for compatibility reasons.
In the screen flow logic, you can specify a value list for a screen field <f> as follows:
FIELD <f> VALUES (<val1>, <val2>,...).
The value list contains a series of single values <vali>. The NOT and BETWEEN additions for the
input check [Page 581] are not appropriate for input help.
You can also create a value list by accessing a database table as follows:
FIELD <f> SELECT *
FROM <dbtab>
WHERE <k1> = <f1> AND <k2> = <f2> AND...
In the WHERE condition, the fields of the primary key <ki> of the database table <dbtab> are
checked against the screen fields <fi>. The WHENEVER addition, used with input checks [Page
581], is not necessary for input help.
If you have used a ABAP Dictionary reference for field <f>, the selection and the hit list formatting
may be affected by any check table attached to the field.
Attaching a Search Help
Search helps from the ABAP Dictionary can be attached to a screen field [Ext.]. To do this, enter
the name of the search help in the corresponding field in the attributes of the screen field in the
Screen Painter. This assigns the first parameter of the search help to the screen field. It is only
possible to place a value from the hit list onto the screen.

When the user chooses the input help for the individual fields, the following input
help is displayed:
For the Airline field, the search help displays the names of the airlines and places the airline
code in the input field for the chosen line. If the airline code is not one of those listed in the
VALUES list of the screen flow logic, the input check triggers an error message in the PAI
event. So the search help overrides the VALUES addition for the input help, but not for the
input checks. This is therefore not an appropriate place to use the VALUE addition.
For the Flight number field, the flow logic displays the selected entries from the database
table SPFLI and places the selected line in the input field.

I can't remove Bing. I've tried Control Panel, the article "Removing the Search Helper Extension and Bing Bar," and I have had no luck for Windows 7 and Firefox.

I wish I could share the two screen shots I took, but this question site doesn't have the option, so I guess I'll describe where Bing is showing up.
In the left hand of my browser, just to the right of the back and forward arrows, there is speech bubble with a black eye ball or something. I found out it's Bing-related by clicking on it. There is no option to remove it with either left or right clicking on it.
Also, in the right hand corner of my browser, at the very end of all my tabs, there is a white rectangular box with an orange "b" and a magnifying glass symbol. It will not respond to anything I try to do to it either, but if clicked it opens a new tab with a Bing search dialogue box.
Finally, any new tab I open automatically opens to the Bing search dialogue box (versus Google).
I need to get specific, step-by-step instructions for removing this Bing stuff from my computer. As I said, I have already gone through all steps outlined in the article I mentioned above as well as not been able to locate Bing in my control panel.
Please help. I'm certain others are having this same issue. I use Windows 7 and Firefox. Thanks.

Search help on screen elements

Hi I have a screen where I need to include a seach help on the screen element. The element itself is just a generic char 8 field with no dictionary reference. I have tried using the VRM_SET_ VALUES in the PBO but as soon as I press enter it looses the value selected. So I have now tried the using the process on value_request but despite finding and populating 138 values in the search help pop up, the actual pop up screen shows a blank list, with the text at the bottom saying 138 values.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Hi John,
A Search help exit is something similar to a user exit. Every search help will have an option of attaching a search help exit under the definition tab( when you view the search help from se12).
For example take a look at the search help VMVA - you will notice a search help exit SD_F4_SHLP_EXIT_SUBSHLP_CHOOSE attached to it.
Basically the serah help exit which is nothing but a function module with a predefined interface which gets triggered before a f4 help is displayed. The exit is used to supress or do any other related modification required.
We have implemented many search help exits and the reason is that we have given a custom interface to our business partners to carry out some transaction on our SAP systems. Though we have given them access to our SAP system we also want to ensure that the business partner does not view any additional data in the system. We have controlled this via many ways like using z objects, using authorizations etc. Still once the user has authorizations to any transaction he or she can do a f4 help on any field and see the data which he should not be able to do. So we have implemented search help exits to supress the drop down only for the business partners. We control this based on the unique login id's we have given to them.
So in short it is used to modify the behaviour of F4 help, mostly used to supress the drop down.
It has to be defined in a specific format.

I have already written a test program which display all the values in proper structure format. But I wanna do the same in the search help. It has to display the output in the structure format.

hello,
you could write additional report based on ALV tree. So you would have the stucture which you want to have and on value request call your custom program. i doubt that there is FM or class which could generate search help tree. So basically you have to write your own logic. Or you could use GuiXt tool. Example and tutorial.

Removing the Search Helper Extension and Bing Bar

The above question has been asked a number of times already, and some replies date back 8 months or more. Sadly, whilst the
offers of help are much appreciated, they no longer seems to fix the problem, AFAICS.
My setup details, if it assists:

Win 7 Home Premium 64bit SP1
Mozilla Firefox v4.0.1
Having bought the above laptop, I am in the process of changing from old to new. During a mass MS update session, Firefox was
impregnated with a 'bing' search box and button [It is perfectly possible that I inadvertantly 'speed clicked' a sneaky 'install me'
button on the way]. Anyhoo, I now have said search box/button and want rid asap. The Firefox help suggests following the
advice in their item entitled 'Removing the Search Helper Extension and Bing Bar', but this shows as out of date. Furthermore, I
have no 'bing' or 'search helper extension' entries in my 'Programs & Features' applet in Control Panel, neither do I have MS
KB982217 installed to uninstall. There are no eponymous entries in Firefox's 'Tools/Addons' menu.
Any ideas, please?

Change Case-sensitivity of field ASKTX in Search Help ASMD

In Collective Search help ASMD, there is a elementory search help /SAPBOQ/ASMD_MITEM where field ASKTX is Case sensitive.
How can I remove the case-sensitivity of this field ?

Sometimes. Sometimes they can be repaired by Disk Utility. Sometimes only a heavy-duty 3rd-party disk repair app like DiskWarrior ($100) can fix them. Sometimes nothing can. Sometimes you can restore some individual items, sometimes not. Sometimes you can do a full system restore from some backups, other times not.
does it help that I am using a Gigabit WIRED connection between iMac - 10/100/1000 switch - Airport Extreme Base Station?
Probably -- you won't have WIFI interference.
But if you have an iMac, why not just connect the external HD directly to your Mac? That's much faster and more reliable (and supported).
You'd need to erase the disk in that case, since Time Machine won't bother with a sparse bundle at all on a direct backup. Just format the disk as GUID, with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and let 'er rip!

How to enhance the Opportunities search help in UI

I have a requirement wherein I need to enhance the Standard Search help of Opportunities in UI.
The requirement is, we have few custom fields and few fields from 'Milestone' tab .These fields needs to show it in the initial screen of 'Opportunities' to search the different opportunities.
Ex:1.We have a custome field called 'Direct Margin%' and this should appear in the drop down of Opportunity search help in UI
        and if the user enters a value against this then system should filter all the opportunities and should display the oportunities which are having the value entered by the user for ''Direct Margin%' (similar to standard search).
2. We have a field called Contract Start Date*' and this should appear in the drop down of Opportunity search help in UI
     and if the user enters a date against this then system should filter all the opportunities and should display the oportunities
     with the date entered.
