Search managed property date format dd/mm/yyyy instead of mm/dd/yyyy

All regional settings in the site collections and the search site have been set to English(Australia), and the date format is correct within them however when I try to perform a search on a managed date property date:dd/mm/yyyy I do not get the expected
results. I only get the correct results when searching date:mm/dd/yyyy.
I found some articles regarding SP2010 and this issue, the correct answer was a link to a TechNet article with information about how to modify the XSLT in the results web part in the search centre. I could not find the XSLT in the results web part properties
in SP2013 so I don't know if this information is redundant or if there is an easier way.
It really seems like such a simple and common request so I can only imagine that its too obvious to blog about considering the time I've put into google on this one, and am I'm missing something here?
Thanks,

Hi karlostavitch,
This issue seems to be caused by Query Language. Query Language is not the language of the Browser interface, but the language submitted to web sites. By default, the property of search results is null, the locale will be inferred from the browser language.
You can change query language by exporting the Search web part, then adding query language property to the file.
More information, please refer to the link:

I hope this helps.

  • Make Search Managed Property ViewsLast7DaysUniqueUsers Sortable

    Hello,
    I am implementing Most Read Pages functionality, so want to have OOB - Search Managed Property "ViewsLast7DaysUniqueUsers" as a Sortable. But it is non-editable in O365. Also, I cannot see any crawled property
    being mapped to this managed property.
    Can anyone please suggest?

    I better thought of using ViewsLifeTimeUniqueUsers or ViewsRecentUniqueUsers

  • How to use search REST api to get custom managed property data for anonymous user?

    I am trying build a public portal with anonymous access and i am trying to read some
    content from custom managed property using search REST api in sharepoint 2013. I have tried to enable all possible attributes of the managed prop. Like searchable,queryable,safe etc. also i am including queryparametertemplate in my REST api search query. But
    still i am not able to retrieve the managed prop. For an anonymous user. The same query returns the value if i am logged in.
    Any Help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Thanks, Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
    To enable anonymous Search REST queries, we need to create queryparametertemplate.xml and upload it to the correct library in SharePoint.
    From your description I can know that you have created the file, then I recommend to check the things below:
    Please use “QueryTemplatePropertiesUrl” instead of “queryparametertemplate” in the Search REST API query as following: &QueryTemplatePropertiesUrl='spfile://webroot/queryparametertemplate.xml'.
    Make sure that the Query Properties you need have been added to the QueryProperties element in the queryparametertemplate.xml file.
    Make sure that the query parameters you need have been added to the WhiteList element in the
    queryparametertemplate.xml file. For example, if you want to use Refiners in the REST API, then the Refiners should be added to the
    WhiteList element in the queryparametertemplate.xml file as following:
    <a:string>Refiners</a:string>.
    You can also debug setting properties in anonymous Search Rest queries following the link below:

  • Date format throughout the site should be dd-MMM-yyyy

    I want all dates in the site to be displayed in "dd-MMM-yyyy" format.
    I want to achieve this using regional settings and don't want to use ddwrt:FormatDate function at each page where date is displayed. What settings I need to do.
    Please help me to resolve this.
    Vaibhav Chitode

    it should be done using regional settings, if still you are not getting same format then apply below code. you can execute following code can using a console app/windows forms app.
    using Microsoft.SharePoint;
    using System.Globalization;
    try
    CultureAndRegionInfoBuilder.Unregister("en-US");
    catch { }
    CultureAndRegionInfoBuilder carib = new CultureAndRegionInfoBuilder("en-US", CultureAndRegionModifiers.Replacement);
    carib.LoadDataFromCultureInfo(new CultureInfo("en-US"));
    carib.LoadDataFromRegionInfo(new RegionInfo("en-US"));
    carib.GregorianDateTimeFormat.ShortDatePattern = "dd-MMM-yyyy";
    carib.Register();
    CultureInfo ci = new CultureInfo("en-US");
    string siteUrl = string.Empty;
    Console.WriteLine("Enter site url:");
    siteUrl = Console.ReadLine();
    using(SPSite site = new SPSite(siteUrl))
    using(SPWeb web = site.RootWeb)
    web.Locale = ci;
    web.Update();
    Console.WriteLine("Done");
    Console.ReadLine();
    After running this code, your site will remain as en-US in this case and will display the date in the format defined.

    Hi,
    Use the FM >CONVERSION_EXIT_PDATE_INPUT and use concatenate statement and then change the formate and pass teh value to Customer Exit Variable, else Change the formate in SU01>User ID >Display>Default Tab and change there.
    See some Sample code: Change the code for your requirement.
    WHEN 'ZCALDAY' .

    The date format for the column join_dt is dd-mon-yyyy.
    But I want to modify the date format for this column as 'MM/DD/YYYY'.
    For that I tried
    ALTER snapshot EMPLOYEE_CRIS_MVIEW modify(TO_CHAR(join_dt,'MM/DD/YYYY'));
    But I got the error

    Could you please help me to change the change the date format of the column of the snapshot

    What people are saying is that date columns (of DATE datatype) are stored internally using a fixed internal notation, which is essentially a series of bytes that describe the date.
    e.g.

    Likewise you can format dates manually as part of your query using to_char function...
    SQL> select empno, ename, to_char(hiredate,'DD Month YYYY') as hiredate, dump(hiredate) as dump_hiredate from emp;

    SQL>Again, the internal date format remains the same.
    It is important that, when you store date information you store it as DATE datatype and let oracle use it's internal format, so that it can accurately do the date arithmetic, date range searches and date ordering etc., that everyone likes to do in queries. If you try and store it as VARCHAR2 then not only can information be lost (i.e. is '01/02/2010' representing 1st February 2010 or is it 2nd January 2010?) but you prevent date arithmetic, range searches and ordering in your queries from working correctly (i.e. '03/01/2009' would work out to be a greater date than '01/02/2010'). To prove it...
    SQL> select 'Wrong' from dual where '03/01/2009' > '01/02/2010';
    'WRON
    Wrong
    SQL> ed
    Wrote file afiedt.buf

  • Date format in XML Forms

    Hi all,
    I already have done my article using XML FORMS. I added into the article the date field that I needed. So, I would like to format the date output in Render List as “dd/mm/yyyy” instead of “mm/dd/yyyy”. It’s possible? Anyone knows how to do it?
    Thanks in advanced,
    Alcides Flach

    Hi,
    By adding in the Additional Metadata parameter the  entry "customFormat=dd.MM.yy", you'll force the display of this property to this format. Look at SAP note 816761 for more info about this.

  • In Thunderbird, how do I change the date format for the column display?

    I want the date to show as DD-MM-YYYY HH:MM AM/PM. Although this should be really obvious (and I know I've done it in the past), I can't find where to do this and can't find anything in Thunderbird Help on this, not even when I search "Thunderbird, change date format".

    Thunderbird usually uses the computer date and time and settings.
    I'm using Windows and notice that TB is using the short date format which I set up under Regional & Language Options.
    Are you using the International settings or Date/Time settings?
    It should pick up the settings from the 'International' or maybe its called now called 'Language & Text' setting.
    not sure which of these suits your macbook:

  • Aperture 3 import date format

    Okay its a matter for me to stick with it or pick up something else. I am hoping someone could help me here.
    How do I change date format of project name while importing. Whenever I try to import whether from camera or local folder, it always gives the date format MMM DD, YY (Dec 30, 2010). Therefore, A3 gives the same name to the project regardless what date format I have set on my MBP. I tried many options, changing my input locals, date/time format, language, etc... nothing helps. Automatically split projects is also enabled and leaving project name blank as I want A3 to import it and put them in a separate project by date with specific format.
    All I want is A3 import into different date format automatically the way I prefer such as YYYY-MM-DD, YYYYMMDD, DDMMYYYY or DD-MM-YYYY. Seems a simple task but I have been trying different methods for the last 4-6 months - no success. I searched through this forum but no results come up. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks

    I agree with this being a bizarre omission from Aperture.
    I had the clever idea that maybe it was following one of the formats defined in the International preference pane, but changing them had no effect.
    Fortunately, Aperture 3 allows running an AppleScript after import. Choose Actions from the Import settings and select an AppleScript file you want to run after the images have been imported. The documentation provided in the Aperture AppleScript Reference provides an example on page 30. What is left unsaid is that the handler is called once for each project created during the import, with the input argument being a list of images added to that project.
    Here's an AppleScript you can save and use as an import action. It changes the name of each folder to a date string in the form yyyy-mm-dd. It should be pretty easy to change if you want some other format. It should also be pretty easy to change if you want to add the date as a suffix to the project name you provided in the input settings if you didn't leave that blank.
    (* Aperture 3 Script by Mitchell L Model, mlm at acm dot org, May 28, 2011 *)
    (* Choose this script to run after importing images with automatic split
    selected; it will rename the projects created for each date to the format
    defined by the crude handler formatImageDate defined below.
    Yes, that handler could have been written as:
            return do shell script "date +'%Y-%m-%d'"
    but this way demonstrates the use of EXIF tag values.
    Change or generalize the formatting as you wish.
    It would be nice if Aperture used one of the date formats set in the International
    Preference Pane -- in particular the short date -- so that you could simply change
    that to be the way you want the split folders to be named, but it deosn't.
    -- Experimentation shows that the handler is called once for each project created by the import,
    -- with input a list of images placed in that project
    on ImportActionForVersions(input)
        tell application "Aperture"
            set the name of the parent of the first item of input to my formatImageDate(the first item of input)

  • Date format issue in oracle database

    Hi,
    Back end : Oracle 11.2.0.2.0
    Front end : Forms 11g
    In our application we are facing issue with TO_DATE('DD/MM/YYY') Date format conversion.
    Example: TO_DATE(P_date,'DD/MM/YYYY') giving the result as 20-Dec-0009
    In the above eg the Parameter P_date is coming as '20-dec-09' from the front end (forms 11g)
    The Nls_date_format parameter at database level is set as 'DD-MON-RR'
    Its working fine after changing the conversion as TO_DATE(P_date,'DD/MM/RRRR') .- If we do like this , we need to change in many places , so instead of doing this, is there other solution wrt database settings/Application settings where we can change and fix this issue
    pls help us to solve the issue.
    Regards.

    sathish kWell the solution is right in front of you. As you say, your database environment is set to DD-MON-RR so your database is set to use 2 digit years (something most people moved away from with the millenium bug more than 10 years ago now). You can either change all your code to use RRRR as you've found, or change your database NLS setting to DD-MON-RRRR and change your front end application to pass you a date with 4 digit years so you get e.g. '20-dec-2009'.
    So many people worked hard to resolve the millenium bug issues all those years ago, but still we have people, all these years later, who want to reintroduce the problem. So sad.

  • Problem with date formatting after having downloaded client Oracle 10.2.0.3

    Hallo
    Could it be for the reason above, in order to have sqlplus on my application server, that some dates are displayed on several occurences (not every, i. e. only in read-only-fields) on my application, with the unwished format YY/MMM/DD instead of DD/MM/YYYY ?
    Example : August 12th 2004 appears as 04/AUG/12 instead of 12/08/2004 which we'd rather have...
    Updating .bashrc and different exports NLS_... and so on haven't changed anything so far...
    Thanks for your help.

    Actually this depends also whether NLS_LANG is set or not.
    If NLS_LANG is not set, instance setting is used:
    pierre@pbell:~$ env | grep NLS
    NLS_DATE_FORMAT=DD-MON-YYYY
    pierre@pbell:~$ sqlplus /
