Search material in payload

I have 1000's of IDOC (same idoc, message type, same interface) in SXMB_MONI.
How do I search for material name in the payload to find corresponding IDOC and the payload contents?
It is difficult to open each message from SXMB_MONI and search the payload with the material name.
I'm looking for search functionality to payload of same interface. Please help.

IDX5 will not solve as the IDOC number is not known either.
I'm going to try Michal suggestion:
use CLASS "cl_xms_persist_adm".
1) use date and time as input
method "select_msg" will get all message_id in PI for that day
2) method get_xi_payload will get the payload (input is message_id)
3) see if payload contains the material, repeat the check for all payloads (step 2 to 3)
4) display all payloads if it contains the material

Hello All
Internal goods and services
search material which has more than one UOMs.
When i search material for internal goods and services i get two entries for one material . i know the reson why it dispalys two same items since it might have alternate UOM but however you select any one of the item it will be order unit only as UOM.
Why SRM system showing two enties for one material with same item . enduser may dismay what item item needs to select.
this must be protected right? Any suggestion not to show tow items while searching one material.
Clue:- MARM - ecc table has Alternate UOMs entries fort he material. Any one is facing this problem ?

Hi. I just tried it on our SRM 4 system (I know it's old, upgrade soon hopefully) and I can see the alternate UOM in MARM and also in SRM in COMMPR01, but I only get 1 hit in the search help.
Are you sure you haven't got the same material replicated twice into SRM from 2 different backends or something? Can you see the logical system in the search? Check table COMM_PRODUCT to see if there is more than 1 entry for the material maybe?
If it is the same system and the UOMs causing the problem It seems a bit odd that SAP would introduce this on a new system, have you tried raising a message with them?
Worst case you always have the BBP_F4_READ_ON_ENTRY / BBP_F4_READ_ON_EXIT BADI's.

Searching Material in Purchase Order-- Urgent

Hi,
Is it Possible to search a material while raising Purchase Order by Material PO text. Actually the requirement is that while raising PO, the users want to search the material by Material PO text since they put the technical description in this field. As material description is 40 characters , the actual description is becoming difficult to understand.
Is it Possible to search material by Material PO text?

In the standard drop down list it is not available.I hope that you can check with your basis team to add such drop down.Otherwise get the information thro' tables.

MB1A - how can search material by material number quickly??

In our company ,When post goods issue for production order with MB1A, people have to change quantity for some items. But if I want to find certain item, I need page down or page up to find this item,but there many components some times more then 100 in one production order, this is very large workload. And when use position cursor function,we could only find the item by the item number,it is helpless.
By the way ,I know use MIGO to production order ,we can search material easlily！But for authorization purpose ,because MIGO can do more than MB1A, we restrict MIGO not to use goods issue for production order.
How can search material by material number quickly in MB1A?By what ways?
Or search the material by the material number by some ABAP development?Are there any user exit fit this?
Or are there any other third party software can help do this?

Well MB1A is not a user friendly program, but you need to understand that this program is a real old one which is in place from the earliest versions of SAP, so it has its limitations.
To overcome them, SAP has now has a new program namely MIGO, which is very user friendly & highly customizable to user's needs. So i would strongly suggest to use MIGO with the proper authorizations you can prevent users from mis-using the program.
Alternatively you can use co27, which is also quite flexible & very useful.
Hope you have the requisite info now & can make an informed decision as to which suits your need best.

To the best of my knowledge MB1A does not support the find function, i tried it quite many times, but each attempt was a futile one & hence have now moved over to MIGO & CO27, both work perfectly fine

Search Material by Multiple Characteristics Values

Hi gurus,
I need your help in a subject.
I've a material which is assigned to two classes ZMATERIAL and ZMATERIAL2.
ZMATERIAL has some characteristics about the material and ZMATERIAL2 has also different characteristics.
I want to search for material by giving values for multiple characteristics which are assigned to different classes.
For example;
ZMATERIAL has Plant and Material Group as characteristic
ZMATERIAL2 has Responsible Person as characteristic
I want to search by giving plant and responsible person. Can I do this in SAP? It allows me to search only by one class as I see.

Seems it can be done if you can use class hierarchy.
Create a new class ZMAT without any characteristic , then assign your existing classes to this class using transaction CL22N. once its done, you can use CL30N to search objects in new class ZMAT , also you will have optyion to use subordinate class for this searches.

Search Material - No Results Found after Embedded Search is configured

Hello Experts,
We have configured Search connector for Material using Embedded Search . The Search connectors are active after indexing . We have created a material using the Create CR process and we could see the approved material in MM03/ MARA table . But when I search for the material in NWBC ,it is not showing the existing material . Let me know if there is anything we could have missed.

Yes the report ESH_TEST_SEARCH returns no material.
So should I suspend the indexing and reschedule with with real time indexing ? I am not sure whether we choose real time indexing in the first time.
What about the authorizations, I see USER_AUTHORITY object is activealready.

Search messages via payload values

Hi,
Did anyone found message by value of one of the xml element value?
Did anyone wrote a program like the transaction SXMB_MONI to correlate between to messages.
for example: ARCKEY></ARCKEY in ALEAUD01/EDI_DC40 segment keeps the original message ID of an IDOC for correlation purpos. How can I use this information because I'm using ZALEAUD instead of ALEAUD.

Payload search without TREX

We have around thousand messages thru PI and need to search a particular field in the xml payload in PI like name, city etc, is there a way to get that message without using TREX, thanks

XML payload search in Xi messages

Hi All,
I need to get the XML pay load for a message which contains a specific value for a specific field. Also I need to get the XML message ID of this message. Is there any option available in Xi for this purpose?

be able to search for XML payload from RWB
(runtime workbench of XI)
this is the first - fast way
there are also some non standard ways
but these are pretty slow and if you have many messages
they will not be very efficient in use:

I have been trying to search the internet on how to use the PI Payload Search (PIPS) functionality of the Integration Engine Monitor (Tcode: ZMONI) but so far I did not find one.

Material group search list

Hi Expert,
I have a very simple problem but i cannot find the solution.
When we go to MM03, we are able to search material code by material description for eg: place your cursor on the material code field, press F4 and enter " jett ", list of description with JETT will come out regardless it is capital or small letter.
But however, if you search for material group list, for eg: place your cursor on the material group field,press F4 and enter " raff ", it will only list out the material group and description with "raff" . Other material group desc which also contains of raff but with capital letter will not come out. Means it is a case sensitive. Is this standard or we can set it somewhere so that it can ignore case sensitive, just like material code and material description?

Hi Crystal,
The behaviour you are seeing is per standard design.
For the Material Group, the standard generated search help H_T023
is used. You may see this in transaction SE12.
H_T023 browses through table T023 where all the Material groups are
kept. The Search Help automaiticaly inherits the attributes of the
fields in it from the Data Dictionary.
The Material Group Description Example (WGBEZ) which belongs to Domain
TEXT20, inherits the Case-sensitivty flag from TEXT20 which is set.
The options which exist are as follows: (None of which are Supported
by SAP as standard
- You could change all descriptions for all you material groups to be
Uppercase. To facilitate this, a small ABAP could be written.
- You could create your own Search Help for Material Group, using its
own view, and here specify that you do not want case sensitivity.

Customisation of F4 for material search

dear all,
while creating a sales order, when i enter material in line item, i want to customise search i.e. F4
i want to search material on two criteria at a time
1) material type
2) material group.
please give solution

If You are in ECC 6 the option in the search crieteria is Advanced search for material using search engine.
Here you need to fill both Material type and Material Group manually.

Material replicated in SRM from R/3 cannot be searched in SRM portal

Hello Experts,
We are in SRM 7.0 classic scenario.
We are facing an issue as described below:-
We replicated material number from backend R/3 sytem into SRM using transaction R3AC1 and we can see the material number in the table comm_product.
But the problem is that when we try to search for the material number in the portal,we are unable to search it
We checked the material number in backend R/3 system in table MARA & MARC and we find that, the material is maintained correctly in R/3 system.
Can you all experts,plz help us understand why this is happening and how this can be resolved?
Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

Not sure if TREX will help you to search the payload from sxmb_moni, because as per my knowledge Trex is alreday there in XI system and we use it in RWB --- Message Monitoring.
But you can go through these blogs which will help you to search the payload data.

so i cannot include plant in my search help, because user may type in other plant.

1) i created a search help in se11 including the plant field again the problem arises if the user types a different plant.
so i want to know whether we can apassa value to plant field in search help(i.e the plant assigned to the user),
i have this kind of thing in some standard t -code i.e especially for searching material , the plant field in search help was filled by one plant.
this should be one of the solution
