Search result functionality

Hello everybody,
I don't understand the following functionality on Search Results;
When I try to find an Activity for a certain BP (Get: Partner and I fill in a name and I press Go) the systems returns one Activity (detailed). But when I now press Go again the systems gives me a list of al Activities for this BP.
I think the "list"result is logicall but the result of only 1 Activity in detail is not.
Can someone explain why this occurs and if it's is possible to deactivate the "1 Activity in detail" result?

Hello Joost,
I think I have the same or a related problem. When I open the activities application in PCUI and start some search (no matter what the search criteria or if I use advanced or simple search) the system returns one activity in detail mode. This activity seems to be in my favorites list (cannot edit favorites due to system customizing here), and I also think it has a very low id.
Anyway, if I now press Go again, it will always correctly display a result list for any consecutive search from now on. When I close the window again and open a new one, the same behavior shows - first only one result, then a list.
This is a CRM 4.0 system, patch level 62058 resp. 40010.
This seems more like a bug in the application framework to me, but I have not yet debugged it.

    This will be difficult. The number of likes has a managed property called LikesCount but it is not populated by the search crawler. So your JavaScript will have to read the "LikesCount" field of the corresponding list item. That would be a
    lot of code to execute in the item display template just to display the number of likes. You could have a button that displayed a callout that would get the information and display it. The Sharing could be done via JavaScript in your item display template
    using a REST call. You can see an example of code to do that here:

    Just remember the user must have permission to share these documents, so your code will have to handle this.

  • PCUI search result print functionality not working

    The print functionality in search result doesn't seem to be working.. Is it not standard ? Please guide me with the steps in getting this work.

  • When "Use Google Instant", "Open search results in a new browser window." does not function.

    In the "Google Search Setting", if select "Do not use Google Instant", then the selected search result of Google Search will be displayed in a new window, but if "Use Google Instant", the selected result will replace Google Search window. This problem does not exist when using Chrome Browser.

    That does what it says - even if Google tells the browser to open the page in a new window, you have told Firefox to ignore that and open it in a new tab. Uncheck the box and you should get the result you want.

  • Organize search results in spotlight's finder search function ?

    Hello.
    The search results in the finder search window (cmd-f from within finder)—is there a way to organize them just like the files in any finder window (name, date, size, kind … ) ?
    (I guess I should add that I of course know there is some organization offered by the sideboard on the right in the actual spotlight window. But this one offers other and in may cases less effective criteria.)

    If the ⌘F search results are in a "brushed metal" window in the "Finder", the window should have buttons for "Icon" and "List" view near the top left edge, just like a regular "Finder" window (unless you have customized your "Finder" toolbar to remove those buttons). Switching to "List" view should allow the full choice of sort criteria to be selected from "View Options" (⌘J).
    If the window is in "aqua" mode (no toolbar or sidebar), it is still possible to switch to "List" view from the menu bar - "View" > "as List" (⌘2).

  • Help creating search and results function for my site. Please help!

    I'm making an eCommerce/PayPal website for some products I'm selling. The website is currently built with PHP and HTML.
    I want to add a search box so people can search for what the specifically want - then the results page will display a list of the products with links to the products' individual pages.
    From what I understand this will almost certainly need to be database driven. My only problem is that I barely know where to start.
    I've created a database on my host and have created dummy pages of how I want everything to look.
    Each product will need 3-5 search terms attached to them.
    Can someone please tell me where to begin and how difficult what I want to achieve will be?

    The solution is database-driven only if the information about your products is in a database.
    There are two approaches for a mySQL database, using the LIKE query and using MATCH AGAINST. These are SQL, not PHP, but the search results are processed by PHP.
    There are plenty of tutorials on the web for these two methods. I prefer MATCH AGAINST, but it is a little bit more involved than LIKE.

  • Sorry, something went wrong - Open Office File from Search Results Page with Office Web Apps

    Hi,
    I'm getting "Sorry, something went wrong" error when I'm trying to open any office document from inside Search Results Page with Office Web Apps, the same error is appearing in the document preview as well.
    The error in SharePoint logs says that the file cannot be found.
    Please note that this error is coming only when the "Filename" of the document is not written in English (in my case its written with Arabic characters).
    If I try to open it from the document library, its opening properly with no errors.
    The only difference between two URLs (document URL in Search Results and in Document Library) is the value for "sourcedoc" attribute;
    In the case of Search Results page, the filename in "sourcedoc" attribute is kept as is with Arabic characters.
    While in the Document Library, the filename in "sourcedoc" attribute is converted into different characters (something like: "B9%D9%85%D9%8").
    Anybody have an idea on how to overcome this issue, implement a workaround or modify the "sourcedoc" behavior?

    Thanks for your efforts, I already tried your last suggestion before, but this didn't solve my problem.
    Actually my end users are accessing this portal using ADFS and HTTPS.
    Finally I got this solved, I have done below to get my overall solution working perfectly:
    - First I have configured Windows Authentication and ADFS Authentication on the same zone which is the default zone.
    - The issue when opening office documents with Arabic file name has disappeared as a result of first change.
    - Then I have faced an issue where we are not able to crawl content under Default zone, however we have to do so, after too many efforts, I found that its related to the Load-balancer/proxy, I have made the crawler server
    to crawl himself (http://CrawlServerName:PortNumber).
    - Also a change on Alternate Access Mapping was needed, I have set one of the extended zones (which is running Windows Authentication only) as Internal URL for the Default Zone, and this is was the URL I used for Crawling.
    I have configured Server Name Mappings to make sure we got proper URLs in Search Results.
    - Then we faced another issue, which is Authentication selection on login page (How to bypass this page, and authenticate using ADFS auto), I used this solution (Set Custom Sign In Page):

    I made it to redirect users to ADFS Sign Out Page instead of SharePoint Sign Out Page (I know its not recommended, but I don't have any other option).

  • Why do google search results reset to match the search bar terms when i use the back button?

    Since the update to FF 23, the list of Google search results clears and the on-page search box is reset to match the address bar search box when I hit the back button to re-view the results list after checking a result.
    To see this issue for yourself, set your search provider to Google and make sure Instant is on. Type a search term into the search bar and press enter. A google page appears with your results list. Now, change your search terms or conduct a new search directly from the google page (without using the FF search bar). Click on the first result in the search list, then click the back button to return to the search results so you can check a differest result. As FF goes back to the google page, it will reset the on-page search box to match the FF search bar (although you were no longer on this search) and all search results will disappear, replaced by the message "Press enter to search". Pressing enter reconducts your old search, not the one you were on.
    This is incredibly maddening since searching for something requires frequent use of the back button to check through the list of search results, and then frequently trying the search again with slightly different terms. Although it sounds like a Google issue, it did not occur on the old firefox and has me wanting to revert. I tried to revert to the old search function via the "keyword search" addon, but this did not fix my issue. Is there a way to force FF to go back to the actual google search page I was just on instead of conducting a new google search from the FF search box when I hit the back button?

    The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.<br />
    Current Firefox versions do not update the about:home home page until you refresh the page (future versions will do this automatically without a refresh) and that is what happens if you use the Back key.
    You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.

  • I'm having trouble with something that redirects Google search results when I use Firefox on my PC. It's called the 'going on earth' virus. Do you have a fix that could rectify the vulnerability in your software?

    I'm having trouble with a virus or something which affects Google search results when I use Firefox on my PC ...
    When I search a topic gives me pages of links as normal, but when I click on a link, the page is hijacked to a site called 'www.goingonearth.com' ...
    I've done a separate search and found that other users are affected, but there doesn't seem to be a clear-cut solution ... (Norton, McAfee and Kaspersky don't seem to be able to detect/fix it).
    I'd like to continue using the Firefox/Google combination (nb: the hijack virus also affects IE but not Safari) - do you have a patch/fix that could rectify the vulnerability in your software?

  • Search Results That Open in a New Window

    I am going to implement the google search function on my
    website, but I want modify it. The part I want to modify is when
    the visitor hits enter, search, or whatever, the search results
    openup in a new window or tab. I don't want it to open up in the
    same window the website is presented in.

    check google to see if they have instructions. You should let
    the users decide how they want to open the page though. when I
    search I usually ctrl click to open the link in new tab

    Requirements

    SharePoint Online Management Shell
    Instructions
    All configuration will be done either in the Search Administration of the Central Administration or in the PowerShell console of your on-premise SharePoint 2013 server.
    Set up Sever to Server Trust
    Export certificates
    To create a server to server trust we need two certificates.
    [certificate name].pfx: In order to replace the STS certificate, the certificate is needed in Personal Information Exchange (PFX) format including the private key.
    [certificate name].cer: In order to set up a trust with Office 365 and Windows Azure ACS, the certificate is needed in CER Base64 format.
    First launch the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
    Select your SharePoint web server and double-click Server Certificates
    In the Actions pane, click Create Self-Signed Certificate
    Enter a name for the certificate and save it with OK
    To export the new certificate in the Pfx format select it and click Export in the Actions pane
    Fill the fields and click OK Export to: C:\[certificate
    name].pfx Password: [password]
    Also we need to export the certificate in the CER Base64 format. For that purpose make a right-click on the certificate select it and click on View...
    Click the Details tab and then click Copy to File
    On the Welcome to the Certificate Export Wizard page, click Next

    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to display hybrid search results in SharePoint Server 2013.

    If you are using single sign-on (SSO) authentication, it is important to test hybrid Search functionality by using federated user accounts. Native Office 365 user accounts and Active Directory Domain Services

  • How to display the search result without reloading the whole page

    HI,
    I have separate fragments for Search Box to enter keyword and Search Result to display the result. Also I have different sections within the page to put these fragments. So how could I display the results without reloading the whole page.
    Also if I have next button in my search result area, how could I display the search results in next page without reloading all other sections present in our page. Please let me know if any service or idoc function present such that result could be shown in search result section without reloading whole page.
    Please let me know how to restrict page reload for every action within a page.

    This is default behaviour of the template of your space. You can create a new page template and than you can create a region for the search results.
    Or you can create a custom taskflow were you use the webcenter taskflows to search for the space.

  • Error in saving search result in MDS application

    I'm developing a ADF customizable web appicatoion using jdeveloper 11.1.2.0
    It works fine when I deploy this application to metadata repository, but when I Save a search result in search panel it gives following error "You do not have permission to replace this search"

    you are trying to change a system search, which is not allowed for customization. You can save custom searches in MDS but not override system searches

If user enters a "System Search" name and click OK button, a error dialog stating "You do not have permission to replace this search:" is shown. If a name that is not already present in the saved-search list is provided, a new search with the given name is created. For this a new event QueryOperationEvent.Operation.OVERRIDE is added.+

    I need to restrict the search results in transaction code FPP3.
    When an end user calls the transaction code 'FPP3' and in the left side of the screen makes a search for Business partner based on what ever selection cryteria, standard program finds the values and gives the result on ALV grid.
    My problem is I need to check if user has right authorisation to look at Partner and if  not delete the partner from Result table. I have treid by implementing events 'SERC1, SECR2 and SERC3'  in BDT and implemented the BADI to masK the fields which is not right solution.
    Can anybody please give me Tip or an Example how I can solve my problem.

    you can you this in the following way: IMG -> ...-> Treasury and Risk Management -> Basic Functions -> SAP Business Partner for Financial Services -> General Settings -> Business Partner -> Basic Settings -> Business Partner Roles -> Define BP Roles -> select those BP roles you intend to hide for the selection in F4 -> choose detailed view -> look for the fields group 'General data' - > select the checkbox in the field 'Hide'.
    one note - as those BP roles are used in other SAP modules as well, make sure, you are not making the incorrect settings in this area.

  • BP  appearing in search results after BP merging process completed

    Hi Gurus,
    Can some one please throw some light on how to stop the displaying of BP's appearing in search results who have been assigned an archiving indicator (XDELE flag set) in BUT000 table.
    The scenario is as follows,
    We identify duplicate BP's, for eg- BP1 BP2 and BP3 are identical.
    Then BP2 will be confirmed as main BP and correct one.
    BP1 and BP3 will be merged to BP2 using the Merge accounts functionality in CRM 7.0 WEB client.
    BP1 and BP3 will have archiving indicator (XDELE field set to X in BUT000 table) after merging process.
    And the problem starts when agents are searching for BP2, still BP1 and BP3 who have XDELE flag set still appears in search results.
    The expectation is we do not want BP's to be appearing in search results that have archiving flag set in BP master record.
    Can some one please advise how to achieve this, is there any config step or we have to go for enhancement.

    Hello,
    You have to use Archiving object - "FI_ACCRECV" to archive Customer Master Data (BP).
    When general data for customer master records is archived, the system automatically checks whether the following conditions have been met:
    - The deletion flag is set.
    - The customer is not locked for deletion.
    - Dependent data of the following types no longer exists in the system:
    1. Business partner of the customer
    2. Company code-specific data (FI data)
    3. Sales data (SD data)
    4. Transaction figures
    5. Special general ledger transaction figures
    6. Open items
    7. Cleared items in the archive
    8. Customer/Vendor links
    For the archiving object all the required configurations should be maintained.
    If you don't have archive server in place then do not take the option of storing (Just archive and delete the data).
