Search results in 2D array format

Hi,
I need to display the search results in HTML TABLE (obtained as bean objects from Arraylist) using a JSP. But the display format should be like below:
searchResult_1 searchResult_2 searchResult_3
searchResult_4 searchResult_5 searchResult_6
Next set of results should be on next page and so on.......
Can someone please help/suggest as how to accomplish this:
1: Display the results across first (say upto 3), and then down
2. pagination
Thanks

You first need to learn HTML tables. That should be easy enough. Then you can search Google for pagination code, which I'm sure there's a few million examples out there.

  • Blue-Unformatted search results

    I've asked this question before, but hope that maybe someone has some new ideas/thoughts on the subject for me.
    All WebHelp Pro projects that me or any other tech writer publish to the RH 8 Server (using RH 8) have one thing in common...
    the search results are small, NEVER formatted, and appear in bright hyperlink-blue. If we were to publish them as regular WebHelp to our local machines the search results appear nicely formatted, in larger white font. The bright blue hyperlinks are near unreadable and we cannot find any solutions for our issue. Any help would be much appreciated. Any server settings that would cause this to happen??

    Hello,
    '''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
    ''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
    ''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
    '''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
    ''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
    ''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Can we export search results in PDF format using export button in OAF?

    No. Only CVS format is supported right now.

  • Search Result Formatting

    Is there a way to format search results? What I am looking to
    do is, when search results are displayed, they also include the
    book title from which the topic is from. In other words, let's say
    I type in "How to copy" in the search criteria dialog box. Below is
    an example of the way I wish to display my results. Where I have
    one project, containing three books, "Work Instructions,"
    "Procedures," and "Training Materials."
    Work Instructions
    How To Copy
    How To Paste
    etc.
    Procedures
    Copy
    Paste
    Training Materials
    Copy a Contract
    Paste
    How to Copy
    Is there any way to do this? Any help would be greatly
    appreciated.

    I'm afraid not. The search results lists purely the topics in
    which the text string exists. One way around this though may be to
    title your topics with the book title - e.g. "Work Instructions -
    How to Copy", "Work Instructions - How to Paste", etc. This would
    be a little tedious but you'd get the results you want.

  • Can you refine people search results using a SharePoint 2013 search service application connected in SharePoint 2010?

    We have an SP2010 farm which is now using some of the service applications from an SP2013 farm, including the search, managed metadata and user profile.  This is part of an upgrade programme of work which will involve upgrading infrastructure and
    then gradually the sites, and this is seen as one way to minimise the impact.
    So, the SP2010 search results are being generated by the SP2013 which is indexing the SP2010 content.  The initial results appear fine, however, the refiners in the people results for Job Title and Department are no longer working.  We are receiving
    a 404 page not found, even though the page is there as was working before.
    If we compare the URL generated in SP2010 for refining results to an OOTB SP2013 search centre site, there is clearly a big difference to the format.  Example below is where LastName is Smith and then refined where Department is HR.
    SP2010 URL which now gives a 404 error:
    http://intranet2010/search/pages/peopleresults.aspx?k=LastName%3Asmith&r=%22owstaxIdSPShDepartment%22%3D%23832e3479%2Dd168%2D4620%2Dac69%2D9b00a4c4205b%3A%22HR%22
    OOTB SP2013 URL:
    http://intranet2013/search/pages/peopleresults.aspx?k%3Asmith#Default=%7B%22k%22%3A%22smith%22%2C%22r%22%3A%5B%7B%22n%22%3A%22Department%22%2C%22t%22%3A%5B%22%5C%22%C7%82%C7%824335%5C%22%22%5D%2C%22o%22%3A%22and%22%2C%22m%22%3Anull%2C%22k%22%3Afalse%7D%5D%7D
    I've looked at the URL decoded versions so can see how the query is built up.
    Any ideas?  Is this even possible?
    Matt

    All working now.  Turns out there was an entry in the web.config which was causing issues.
      <denyQueryStringSequences>
          <add sequence="ID" />
      </denyQueryStringSequences>
    Seems IIS is denying something in the query string.  We removed the whole section as was not needed.
    http://www.iis.net/configreference/system.webserver/security/requestfiltering/denyquerystringsequences
    Thanks to a colleague who spotted this; I would've never of thought to check the web.config for something like this.

  • ADFS SSO and SharePoint 2013 on-premise Hybrid outbound search results from SharePoint Online - does it work?

    Hi,
    I want to setup an outpund hybrid search for SharePoint 2013 on-premise to SharePoint Online.
    But I'm not shure if this works with ADFS SSO.
    Has somebody experience with this setup?
    Here's my guide which I'm going to use for this installation:
    Introduction
    In this post I'll show you how to get search results from your SharePoint Online in your SharePoint 2013 on-premise search center.
    Requirements
    User synchronisation ActiveDirectory to Office 365 with DirSync
    DirSync password sync or ADFS SSO
    SharePoint Online
    SharePoint 2013 on-premise
    Enterprise Search service
    SharePoint Online Management Shell
    Instructions
    All configuration will be done either in the Search Administration of the Central Administration or in the PowerShell console of your on-premise SharePoint 2013 server.
    Set up Sever to Server Trust
    Export certificates
    To create a server to server trust we need two certificates.
    [certificate name].pfx: In order to replace the STS certificate, the certificate is needed in Personal Information Exchange (PFX) format including the private key.
    [certificate name].cer: In order to set up a trust with Office 365 and Windows Azure ACS, the certificate is needed in CER Base64 format.
    First launch the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
    Select your SharePoint web server and double-click Server Certificates
    In the Actions pane, click Create Self-Signed Certificate
    Enter a name for the certificate and save it with OK
    To export the new certificate in the Pfx format select it and click Export in the Actions pane
    Fill the fields and click OK Export to: C:\[certificate
    name].pfx Password: [password]
    Also we need to export the certificate in the CER Base64 format. For that purpose make a right-click on the certificate select it and click on View...
    Click the Details tab and then click Copy to File
    On the Welcome to the Certificate Export Wizard page, click Next
    On the Export Private Key page, click Next
    On the Export File Format page, click Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER), and then click Next.
    As file name enter C:\[certificate
    name].cer and then click Next
    Finish the export
    Import the new STS (SharePoint Token Service) certificate
    Let's update the certificate on the STS. Configure and run the PowerShell script below on your SharePoint server.
    if(-not (Get-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)){Add-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell"}
    # set the cerficates paths and password
    $PfxCertPath = "c:\[certificate name].pfx"
    $PfxCertPassword = "[password]"
    $X64CertPath = "c:\[certificate name].cer"
    # get the encrypted pfx certificate object
    $PfxCert = New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2 $PfxCertPath, $PfxCertPassword, 20
    # import it
    Set-SPSecurityTokenServiceConfig -ImportSigningCertificate $PfxCert
    Type Yes when prompted with the following message.
    You are about to change the signing certificate for the Security Token Service. Changing the certificate to an invalid, inaccessible or non-existent certificate will cause your SharePoint installation to stop functioning. Refer
    to the following article for instructions on how to change this certificate: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=178475. Are you
    sure, you want to continue?
    Restart IIS so STS picks up the new certificate.
    & iisreset
    & net stop SPTimerV4
    & net start SPTimerV4
    Now validate the certificate replacement by running several PowerShell commands and compare their outputs.
    # set the cerficates paths and password
    $PfxCertPath = "c:\[certificate name].pfx"
    $PfxCertPassword = "[password]"
    # get the encrypted pfx certificate object
    New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2 $PfxCertPath, $PfxCertPassword, 20
    # compare the output above with this output
    (Get-SPSecurityTokenServiceConfig).LocalLoginProvider.SigningCertificate
    [/code]
    ## Establish the server to server trust
    [code lang="ps"]
    if(-not (Get-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)){Add-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell"}
    Import-Module MSOnline
    Import-Module MSOnlineExtended
    # set the cerficates paths and password
    $PfxCertPath = "c:\[certificate name].pfx"
    $PfxCertPassword = "[password]"
    $X64CertPath = "c:\[certificate name].cer"
    # set the onpremise domain that you added to Office 365
    $SPCN = "sharepoint.domain.com"
    # your onpremise SharePoint site url
    $SPSite="http://sharepoint"
    # don't change this value
    $SPOAppID="00000003-0000-0ff1-ce00-000000000000"
    # get the encrypted pfx certificate object
    $PfxCert = New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2 $PfxCertPath, $PfxCertPassword, 20
    # get the raw data
    $PfxCertBin = $PfxCert.GetRawCertData()
    # create a new certificate object
    $X64Cert = New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2
    # import the base 64 encoded certificate
    $X64Cert.Import($X64CertPath)
    # get the raw data
    $X64CertBin = $X64Cert.GetRawCertData()
    # save base 64 string in variable
    $CredValue = [System.Convert]::ToBase64String($X64CertBin)
    # connect to office 3656
    Connect-MsolService
    # register the on-premise STS as service principal in Office 365
    # add a new service principal
    New-MsolServicePrincipalCredential -AppPrincipalId $SPOAppID -Type asymmetric -Usage Verify -Value $CredValue
    $MsolServicePrincipal = Get-MsolServicePrincipal -AppPrincipalId $SPOAppID
    $SPServicePrincipalNames = $MsolServicePrincipal.ServicePrincipalNames
    $SPServicePrincipalNames.Add("$SPOAppID/$SPCN")
    Set-MsolServicePrincipal -AppPrincipalId $SPOAppID -ServicePrincipalNames $SPServicePrincipalNames
    # get the online name identifier
    $MsolCompanyInformationID = (Get-MsolCompanyInformation).ObjectID
    $MsolServicePrincipalID = (Get-MsolServicePrincipal -ServicePrincipalName $SPOAppID).ObjectID
    $MsolNameIdentifier = "$MsolServicePrincipalID@$MsolCompanyInformationID"
    # establish the trust from on-premise with ACS (Azure Control Service)
    # add a new authenticatio realm
    $SPSite = Get-SPSite $SPSite
    $SPAppPrincipal = Register-SPAppPrincipal -site $SPSite.rootweb -nameIdentifier $MsolNameIdentifier -displayName "SharePoint Online"
    Set-SPAuthenticationRealm -realm $MsolServicePrincipalID
    # register the ACS application proxy and token issuer
    New-SPAzureAccessControlServiceApplicationProxy -Name "ACS" -MetadataServiceEndpointUri "https://accounts.accesscontrol.windows.net/metadata/json/1/" -DefaultProxyGroup
    New-SPTrustedSecurityTokenIssuer -MetadataEndpoint "https://accounts.accesscontrol.windows.net/metadata/json/1/" -IsTrustBroker -Name "ACS"
    Add a new result source
    To get search results from SharePoint Online we have to add a new result source. Run the following script in a PowerShell ISE session on your SharePoint 2013 on-premise server. Don't forget to update the settings region
    if(-not (Get-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)){Add-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell"}
    # region settings
    $RemoteSharePointUrl = "http://[example].sharepoint.com"
    $ResultSourceName = "SharePoint Online"
    $QueryTransform = "{searchTerms}"
    $Provier = "SharePoint-Remoteanbieter"
    # region settings end
    $SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication
    $FederationManager = New-Object Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.Query.FederationManager($SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication)
    $SPEnterpriseSearchOwner = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchOwner -Level Ssa
    $ResultSource = $FederationManager.GetSourceByName($ResultSourceName, $SPEnterpriseSearchOwner)
    if(!$ResultSource){
    Write-Host "Result source does not exist. Creating..."
    $ResultSource = $FederationManager.CreateSource($SPEnterpriseSearchOwner)
    $ResultSource.Name = $ResultSourceName
    $ResultSource.ProviderId = $FederationManager.ListProviders()[$Provier].Id
    $ResultSource.ConnectionUrlTemplate = $RemoteSharePointUrl
    $ResultSource.CreateQueryTransform($QueryTransform)
    $ResultSource.Commit()
    Add a new query rule
    In the Search Administration click on Query Rules
    Select Local SharePoint as Result Source
    Click New Query Rule
    Enter a Rule name f.g. Search results from SharePoint Online
    Expand the Context section
    Under Query is performed on these sources click on Add Source
    Select your SharePoint Online result source
    In the Query Conditions section click on Remove Condition
    In the Actions section click on Add Result Block
    As title enter Results for "{subjectTerms}" from SharePoint Online
    In the Search this Source dropdown select your SharePoint Online result source
    Select 3 in the Items dropdown
    Expand the Settings section and select "More" link goes to the following URL
    In the box below enter this Url https://[example].sharepoint.com/search/pages/results.aspx?k={subjectTerms}
    Select This block is always shown above core results and click the OK button
    Save the new query rule

    Hi  Janik,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to display hybrid search results in SharePoint Server 2013.
    For achieving your demand, please have a look at the article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn197173(v=office.15).aspx
    If you are using single sign-on (SSO) authentication, it is important to test hybrid Search functionality by using federated user accounts. Native Office 365 user accounts and Active Directory Domain Services
    (AD DS) accounts that are not federated are not recognized by both directory services. Therefore, they cannot authenticate using SSO, and cannot be granted permissions to resources in both deployments. For more information, see Accounts
    needed for hybrid configuration and testing.

  • Is it possible to select multiple files on the W8.1U1's SEARCH RESULTS window page? For instance, if 10 CPP files are found by the seraching mechanism, can I select all 10 files and have them open in Visual Studio at once?

    TIA.

    Brandon, this forum member is known since a long time ago an arrogant (he thinks he knows more than every other) and stupid(*) (full of misconceptions). His first post is a very good example of what I just wrote. How does he dare to suggest to use File
    Explorer, if W8.1 already has a system built for doing just this search?  Do I have to open File Explorer in the folder (or somewhere near) the item I'm looking for? What about the other items in folders above it? This suggestion is stupid(*). He even
    asserts that I'm using Modern UI! I'm not! I'm using the desktop, but his misconceptions make him write such idiocies(*) with such arrogance: asserting what he doesn't know (arrogancy and stupidity). And more, this guy is no one to say he/he/he to me, because
    I know he is what you deleted from my posts, and more, he is often crying, moaning and snivelling like a spoiled child in this forum and messing up any thread posting stupid(*) images of programs imagined/designed/developed by others. All posts from him in
    this thread must be trashed (you should do it). He has nothing to contribute POSITIVELY in this thread, but just to MESS IT UP.
    (*) stupid, I can write, after all, you didn't delete this word from this ... poster.
    Now, look at the first reply: this forum member has no idea how much stupid is his 'work around'. And this 'work around' does not answer my question and even does address the environment I mentioned: W8.1 U1 search results window page, and not File Explorer!
    His second post just reassures me he has no idea what is the searching mechanism I'm talking about. He even mentions Win-w(!) which proves he totally ignore what is the searching mechanism I'm talking about. A user like this one, must have many monitors to
    keep him busy looking at them, and having excuses for not read and learn technical documentation. It's ignorance about technical aspects of computer issues that makes him post bad bug report and a bad idea in Connect site:
    Using Get-Date -Format "CyM" to work around some bugs
    https://connect.microsoft.com/PowerShell/feedback/details/884502/using-get-date-format-cym-to-work-around-some-bugs
    Only total ignorance about PowerShell makes someone post such bad 'bug' report. He got critics about his bad post, but I'm sure he doesn't understand.
    Column headers for alias should include DisplayName instead of just Name
    https://connect.microsoft.com/PowerShell/feedback/details/908152/column-headers-for-alias-should-include-displayname-instead-of-just-name
    In fact, the information displayed is already DisplayName, but this guy has no technical knowledge to understand what is happening.
    These 2 forum members just messed up a thread that should be free of negative contributions, besides off topic.

  • Is it so difficult for Sun to sort search result and duke stars ?

    In the years that I have been visiting these forums I have frequently (well every year at least) asked Sun to sort the search results by reverse date. In the last few months I have asked Sun to sort the new format of the results of "My Duke Stars". Is is so difficult to add a 'order by' clause to the SQL or am I missing something?

    DrClap wrote:
    It would be nice if they could do that, and I asked them too several months ago. It would also be nice if they told you how many points you got for an answer (not how many points were originally attached to the thread) and the date and time you got them (not the original date and time of the thread). But those changes might take more than just an ORDER BY clause. (Or they might be implemented by just choosing the right columns from joined tables, who knows?)They seem to have all the functionality already there, it's just spread out across two pages when it should be all on one.

  • RoboHelp 9 search results icons and context

    I have some formatting issues with the search results.  In the image below I want 2 things to change.  I would like to remove the extra info and simply have the link.  I also want to ditch the little icon.  I am pretty new to RoboHelp so ask me any info I may have excluded.
    RoboHelp 9

    Sorry for the forums issue. I know how those can be!
    Apologies in advance if you feel I'm speaking down to you in any way. As you seem unfamiliar with RoboHelp's outputs, I'm guessing you may also be unfamiliar overall with RoboHelp.
    Using RoboHelp is a lot like working in a kitchen. You mix "ingredients" that consist of Topics (HTML Pages) Images, Video and whatever else. And RoboHelp assists you in mixing these.
    In a kitchen, you prepare a dish for someone to consume. Generally, you prepare the dish based on a recipe. That recipe may exist in the form of a card in a small recipe box. In RoboHelp, there is a pod called the Single Source Layouts pod. This is just like the Recipe Box. And each layout type is just like a recipe card in the box. There are layouts for WebHelp, for Microsoft HTML Help, for AIR Help, etc.
    One of these is nominated to be the default. That's just like moving that particular recipe card to the front of the recipe box.
    So when you create your output (your recipe) I'm asking what type of output you created. Which layout has "default" beside its name in the Single Source Layouts pod? That's likely to be the one you are using and seeing what you are seeing.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Search results not returning file names correctly

    Have an onsite SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise that contains a number of documents in a document library all containing the word "south" in their title. When a search is run with the keyword "south" all 3 files are shown in the results but only one displays
    the correct title. The other 2 display alternate text (in this case the company name). The links all 3 results are correct, however the title of results is incorrect for 2 out of the 3.
    I have duplicated these results using Office 365 and another on site SharePoint 2010 server.
    I have duplicated these results converting the documents to DOCX format under Word 2007 and Word 2010.
    Obviously, this is an issue with the files, however any ideas where to start looking to uncover where the SharePoint Server is pulling the information from?
    In the end I need all 3 results to display the current name of the files it finds, not simply some random text with the files from 2 out of 3 of the results.
    Thanks

    Could it be because of this?
    Pasted from here:
    http://bpostutor.com/post/Hidden-SharePoint-2010-Feature-Changes-Document-Titles-in-Search-Results.aspx
    Hidden SharePoint 2010 Feature Changes Document Titles in Search Results
    SharePoint 2010 has a interesting feature which you may not know about.  It's called Optimistic Title.  It's part of the Office Search engine within SharePoint.  What it does is determine a new, hopefully more relevant title for your documents
    to be displayed in your search results based on document properties or the actual contents of the document (i.e. Text within the file).  As you might expect this is closely tied to the Office document formats such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote,
    and Visio.  Your end users may report that the titles that they see for search results differ greatly from the file name or the actual title of the document.  This is particularly evident with PowerPoint files where the name of the first slide
    is often used. The behavior is not entirely predictable.  Different results can be expected from Office 2007 and Office 2010 created files and even those created in earlier versions of Microsoft Office.
    If you want to change this functionality you need to actually go and edit the registry on your Search role server(s) within your SharePoint farm, restart the osearch14 service and then do a full crawl.  The key you want to modify is the EnableOptimisticTitleOverride.
    The default setting is 1. Change it to 0 to disable the feature.

  • Adding Fields to People Search Results Page

    Hi
    Working in SharePoint Online, I've been able to add a few fields to the People Search results page successfully:
    Organization
    Office Locator
    Office Location
    Work Phone
    Mobile Phone
    Home Phone
    Work Email
    All of the above fields are working and display on the People search results page.
    I tried to add these and they simply do not display.  There is no error:
    University Email
    Assistant
    Calendar/Scheduling
    I set them up the same way.  I created the Property in the User Profile area.  I then populated the data for each user.  I then added the property as a Managed property (search schema) linked to the Crawled property from the People category.
    Made sure that they were query able, retrievable, searchable, etc.  Then I edited the People Search code and then I waited over the weekend for the search to pick them up.  I came into work this morning and they still do not display.  Here is
    my code, just in case I missed something.  Thanks.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you have an issue about adding fields in people search results page.
    Per my knowledge, there is no issue in your steps, and the issue may be related to the search crawl in SharePoint online.
    For SharePoint server on-premise, we can start the search full crawl, however, for SharePoint online, we could not start the search full crawl manually.
    You can wait for some time to complete the search full crawl in SharePoint online, then check whether it works.
    As this is the forum for SharePoint server on-premise, I’m not familiar with the SharePoint online search crawl, for this issue, I recommend you can post a new question in the forum for Office 365/SharePoint online.
    http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/154.aspx
    More experts will assist you, then you will get more information relation to SharePoint Online.
    Thank you for your understanding and support.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • How to modify  the search results of the GUI for subscribing to calendars

    How to modify the search results of the GUI for subscribing to calendars
    Note:
    <OL>
    <LI>The following information applies only to iPlanet Calendar Server 5.0
    Patch 3.
    <LI>All of the cases for which the XSLT changes will work have not been
    verified.
    <LI>The following is only an example of an XSLT customization.
    </OL>
    The example below shows a sample customization of the
    search_for_calendars
    dialog. This customization will result in the Display Name being included as
    part of the search results in the GUI, which would normally show just the
    calendar ID. It will render the returned calendars in the following format:
    <P>
    Display Name - <I>description</I>
    <P>
    Normally, the format would be as follows:
    <P>
    Calendar-ID - <I>description</I>
    <P>
    </A>
    The example consists of the following two files:
    <P>
    <OL>
    <LI>search_for_calendars_common.xsl
    (the entire XSLT file)
    <P>
    <LI>diffctx.txt
    (the context sensitive diff patch file,
    which basically shows only the changes that need to be made)

  • Display pdf meta data in search results

    I'm using the built in search function of Sun One web server 6.1 to catalog a directory that contains a large number of scientific journal article in pdf format. In each pdf file the title of the journal article and the author name is contained in the document metadata. After a search is performed the Title field is listed on the search results page. Is there a way to make the Author field appear there as well? It seems that the html version of the file generated by htmlconv contains the information I want <meta name="author" content=" Author Name "></meta>, but I did not find enough information in the documentation to allow me to modify /opt/SUNWwbsvr/bin/https/webapps/search/index.jsp to display this information properly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Doug

    Hi,
    You will need to create a new 'metadata property' through search and map it as below (though there is 1 OOTB property but you cannot use it) -
    1) Create metadata property, say 'Modified By User' (text)
    2) Map it to - ows_Modified_x0020_By(Text) , ows_ModifiedBy(Text) , Office:8(Text)
    3) Run a full crawl
    4) After this, you need to modify the search results XSLT to add 'Modified By' in the results page. You will find good articles on this on MSDN/Technet (check here - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ms560074(v=office.14).aspx)

  • How do I change color of hyperlink search results in WebHelp Pro?

    I'm trying to figure out how to change the color of search result hyperlinks when using WebHelp Pro in RH8. The links currently are vibrant blue and purple after clicked on. I can't find anywhere in the style sheet or in the skin editor options to define this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    In your .css file, use something like the following; the "A:" would be your default link, and the "A.topic:" would be a different class of link (we use it for some in-topic navigation links). Note that the order in which the qualifiers appear is important. Follow the LoVeHate method (Link, Visited, Hover).
    Feel free to try it and use your own combinations (you might not want the expanded letter-spacing, for example). We also reversed the underline format from the default html (none for link and visited, underline for hover).
    A:link,
    A:visited {
    color: #0000CD;
    letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
    text-decoration: none;
    A:hover {
    color: #000080;
    letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
    text-decoration: underline;
    You would add the class=topic qualifier to your links for this class of link (a class=topic href="targettopic.htm")
    A.topic:link,
    A.topic:visited {
    color: #0000CD;
    font-size: 8pt;
    font-weight: normal;
    margin-left: 10px;
    margin-top: 0pt;
    margin-bottom: 0pt;
    letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
    text-decoration: none;
    A.topic:hover {
    color: #000080;
    font-size: 8pt;
    font-weight: normal;
    letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
    margin-top: 0pt;
    margin-bottom: 0pt;
    margin-left: 10px;
    text-decoration: underline;
    Good luck,
    Leon

  • Search form and search results page

    Hi! I really need some help with my search and search results page. I'm a newbie and am trying to get my site built. My search page will be the most important page and is quite complex. It will have 11 drop down boxes and 8 radio buttons. I have my form set up on the search page. When I try to run it now it returns all results. Because I have so many fields I didn't want to post it all but, here's what my code looks like for my first drop down box:
    <select name="area_search[]" multiple="multiple" id="area_search" form="search" >
                <option selected="selected" value="" <?php if (!(strcmp("", $row_rs_searchpropertyinfo['Area']))) {echo "selected=\"selected\"";} ?>>Any</option>
                <option value="Downtown" <?php if (!(strcmp("Downtown", $row_rs_searchpropertyinfo['Area']))) {echo "selected=\"selected\"";} ?>>Downtown</option>
                <option value="Jackson County East" <?php if (!(strcmp("Jackson County East", $row_rs_searchpropertyinfo['Area']))) {echo "selected=\"selected\"";} ?>>Jackson County East</option>
                <option value="Johnson County" <?php if (!(strcmp("Johnson County", $row_rs_searchpropertyinfo['Area']))) {echo "selected=\"selected\"";} ?>>Johnson County</option>
                <option value="Johnson County North" <?php if (!(strcmp("Johnson County North", $row_rs_searchpropertyinfo['Area']))) {echo "selected=\"selected\"";} ?>>Johnson County North</option>
                <option value="Johnson County South" <?php if (!(strcmp("Johnson County South", $row_rs_searchpropertyinfo['Area']))) {echo "selected=\"selected\"";} ?>>Johnson County South</option>
    <option value="Midtwon" <?php if (!(strcmp("Midtwon", $row_rs_searchpropertyinfo['Area']))) {echo "selected=\"selected\"";} ?>>Midtown</option>
    <option value="North Kansas City" <?php if (!(strcmp("North Kansas City", $row_rs_searchpropertyinfo['Area']))) {echo "selected=\"selected\"";} ?>>North Kansas City</option>

    This is the code for a radio button:

    As I said, I'm a newbie. Any help or guidance would be very much appreciated. THanks in advance!

    Thanks for that example, but that is the design based on different technology than mine (ADF BC, and I am using ADF, EJB3/JPA). The link I provided above nowhere presents <methodIterator> nor <methodAction> and these are generated automatically in the page definition file by JDev when you drag-drop collections onto the page. So obviously that manual (online help) does not reflect the internals of current JDev 10.1.3.2 operation. As the matter of fact complete XML schema format seems to be different (although similar to certain extent) than the schema format created by JDev 10.1.3.2
