Searchable Field

Is Shelf Life can be a searchable field in Material and Trade Specification in v6.1.0.3?
I mean can we search Trade or Material Spec using shelf life attribute in any advanced search or simple search?

We don't currently offer a shelf life as out of the box searchable criteria.  Shelf life is a complex field involving a UOM on the trade and even more attributes on the material spec.    This type of query can be handled today with a report with multiple parameters.  You can use our custom report configuration to provide parameters in the PLM4P UI and add a link to this report on the trade spec and material spec search page.  You can learn more about your reporting options in the Reporting Guide.
If you think the search can be done without specifying the other attributes, you could also do this with a search customization.  For example, if your trade shelf life search is always in years and users wouldn't need to specify a unit of measure when searching then you can customize the trade search to include that criteria.
The following thread discusses how criteria can be added to any search:
What is the Searchable Property ID of Trade Spec Description?
Hope this helps.  We are always here to provide guidance so if you have any questions let us know.

  • Filter: Search in any searchable Field

I have text in the caption field. When I try a search with
    "text: caption"
    it is found.
When I use "Any searchable Field" it is not found.
Is this a bug? Or is caption no searchable Field?

It would be useful to have a list of what "Any Searchable Field" includes.
It does work for "Title", "Copyright", "Location" but not "Caption".
So, indeed, what is a "Searchable Field"?

  • Information needed on Searchable field used by Ravenna

    Hi,
Ravenna sample site uses xSearchable field for their two types of search. But this field I could not see in content server and dynamic search feature in Ravenna site(development environment) works fine. Below information is available in Ravenna Tutorial :
The Ravenna Hosting site uses the fragment in two different ways (the search results for the main search feature and the search results for the Knowledge Base search feature). When used on the main search results page, it contains the value:
xSearchable <Substring> ‘true’ When used on the Knowledge Base search results page, it contains the value:
    dDocType <Substring> ‘rvh_knowledgebasearticle’ <AND> xSearchable <Substring> ‘true’
Please let me know how I could define xSearchable field configuration for my custom search criteria fragment.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

    Hello,
the EEWB is the tool to go if you want to add additional fields on database level to an existing business object. These fields can be marked as relevent for Search, BI, ERP, Mobile.
As you do not specify what kind of business object you want to enhance, let me just say this: There are various objects you can choose in the EEWB. The options that are available vary from object to object as this are different wizards.

  • Add "Softproof" as a searchable Metadata field or attribute

Eventually I expect that I will have a lot of Softproof copies on my hard drive, and will inevitably want to quickly identify those copies. Going through each individual photo in Lightroom and looking at the Copy Name is not very fast.
Ideally as a Metadata searchable field, the system would group and classify all Softproofs by printer color profile. Identifying all Softproofs for a specific paper and/or specific printer would be a snap.
Alternatively a searchable attribute "Softproof" which could quickly identify the Softproofs (or non-proofs if I negate it).
I note that currently the Copy name may be searched as a text field. If I enter the search criteria "Copy name" "Contains" "icc" I can pulll up my softproof copies. It would be far superior if I could use Metadata or Attribute.
    Scott

Thank-you for the note ... I didn't realize that Is "Proof" had been added as a filter field in Smart Collections.
This is certainly a good work around, which I will use.
If "Proof" is an attribute of the photo (and/or virtual copy) then I still feel that it would be desirable as a criteria in the Library Filters. Until then I will use the Smart Collection (and "Copy Name" field search)

  • Additional Search Field on BP in IC

    Hi
I have a requirement to add a custom searchable field to the Identify Account view, to facilitate this, I have extended the Business Partner via the EEWB to add a new field.
This field is a text field and needs to utilise TREX to provide fuzzy search functionality.
I have used the following blog, Fuzzy search on BP in CRM ICWC, as the basis for creating a fuzzy search function for Account Identification, which works with the Name and address fields.
I have modified the view to add my custom field to the select screen, and I can append the entered value to the TREX query table, but the attribute required is not in the TREX index, so it returns no results.
The index used is the BUS1006 index which is created using the SAF admin tool, I need to extend this index to include the new attribute in the index, to allow results to be returned based on this attribute.
I will award points if anyone can help me extend the attributes of this index to allow me to use the fuzzy search function on this new field.
    Thanks
    Andy Beavan

    Hi,
For Identify Account view, to add a new field, first search whether the company name field
is available in BOL layer or not. you can search the BOL entity BuilHeaderSearch to check
whether Company name field is available or not, if not then add it to BUPA Busines object
using EEWB. After that, goto BSP_WD_WORKBENCH Transaction and create an attribute
in the SearchCustomer context node, and modify the required methods as per your search.
Please let me know if you find any difficulty in adding it.
    Thanks

  • Popup not populating the originating field with selected results

    Customized setting browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction 0.

    Tried that but not working.
It works fine if I default the newwindow.restriction to 2.

Tried to find safe mode, but FF9 not listed in my programs (FF3 was).

  • OIM 11gR2 Change default query on users manager field

Hi, we are trying to change the default behaviour of users manager field.
When a user is creating another user on OIM, he should only be able to select a particular type of users. So we would want to filter manager field based on a particular user role. For example: just show employees.
At this point, we have checked User.xml searching for the associated query, we have tried to edit inputListOfValues for Manager on Create User form,... but still no idea on how this could be done.
Could anyone point us on the rigth direction on how to achieve this?
    Thanks in advance!

    Karthik Perath
Thanks for the answer....... but I guess you misread the question.  I am able to add new fields as columns to the search results table.  My problem is I want to add the searchable field to the query form.  Also, I do not want to use the Add Fields button (because that is a part of Saved Search which is Personalization and limited only to the creator) , I want the newly added searchable field. for example Employee Number ( which is not there by default)  to be made available to all the end users of Identity Self Service system..... Hope you got the problem...

  • How can I search the "Other" field in my Thunderbird contacts?

I imported my Yahoo contacts into Thunderbird. All my keywords were in the "Notes" field in Yahoo. After importing into Thunderbird, all these ended up in the "Other" field.
When I go into the search tool, it lists all searchable fields. "Other" is not included. Is there any way to search "Other"? Or is there a way to import the contacts in a way that lands the Yahoo "Notes" into a searchable field?
    Thanks!

I am running Thunderbird v 24.2.0 under Bodhi Linux (Ubuntu derivative).
I click on the Address Book button to open my address book.
Then I click Edit > Search Addresses.
This opens a detailed dialog box called Advanced Address Book Search.
First, I can choose which address book(s) to search.
Then I can use a drop-down menu to choose various fields and search criteria, to build a regular expression for searching. It is actually quite comprehensive.
The only problem for me is: Most of my key words are located in the "Other" field, which is not included in the drop-down list. Very frustrating. The information is there, but it cannot be accessed with this tool. (At least, I have not figured out how to do so.)

  • Searchable metadata

What does Lightroom mean by "searchable metadata"?  I was looking for a particular picture using search.  I think I usually use "any searchable field" but for some reason without my noticing it was set on "searchable metadata".  It did not find my picture.  Finally I found it and sure enough, the caption was my word.  The search did find the images where the word was in the title. (At one point I switched from using the title field as my primary "title" instead of caption for reasons not related to Lightroom.)  The picture is found by using "any searchable field".  Why is title but not caption a "searchable metadata"?
    Judy

The picture is found by using "any searchable field".  Why is title but not caption a "searchable metadata"?
Caption is not actually included within the IPTC 1.1 Core schema. However, Lightroom includes it in lieu of Description, which is part of the schema, and means that it can be tracked by other applications when the metadata is saved to file.
Other fields that Searchable Metadata excludes are Category and Other (Supplemental) Categories, Website URL and Copyright. The first two are excluded because they are no longer included within IPTC 1.1 Core Schema, the reason for the other two being excluded is less clear.
You might find the following IPTC document useful http://www.iptc.org/std/photometadata/specification/IPTC-PhotoMetadata%28200907%29_1.pdf

  • How to use path names for library filter?

    Hi all,
I have been looking for a way to use the library filter functionality to show only images in a particular folder (or subfolder thereof). From the help pages [http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Lightroom/3.0/Using/WSAB7B303E-081D-4617-BF47-B4B8D3D49CC3.htm l] I found that the image path is included when you filter using 'any searchable field'.
However, I do not seem to be able to use a full path name, just the individual directory names. To give an example, I can locate files in c:\data\photos using 'contains all: c data photos', but this will also select images in 'c:\data\someotherproject\photos'. I have tried all combinations of slashes and backslashes, but have found no solution to this problem. Does anyone know what the internal representation for the path name is, and if it's possible to search for it?
Just to pre-empt the obvious answer: I know that you can simply click on a folder to show its contents. However, using the filter bar would be a more permanent selection of a working directory, which remains when you click on a collection, for example.
    Thanks.
    Simon

Sorry, I could have been clearer.
What I'm trying to achieve is the following. My computer contains photos by myself, my wife and others, organised in three main folders. Having them in separate catalogs isn't convenient, because we often have photos of the same event (outings, holidays). However, most of the time I only want to work on my photos, and my wife wants to work on hers. A directory filter would be a good and fool-proof way of doing things. I am currently using a special keyword to do this, but I must remember to apply the correct keyword when importing.
Adding a folder as a favorite only works to select that folder in its entirety. What I would like to do is to have a 'master' folder selected and then use Lightroom as I normally would (select folders, collections, etc) Filtering by path name would enable me to do just that - and it does, except that there are false positives due to not being able to enter a full path name.
A smart collection has the same problem: the 'Folder' rule doesn't seem to support paths. And even if it did, it's not possible to select two collections with a logical 'and' operator, unless you make a new smart collection for each possibility.
My current keyword workaround is functional, but slightly error-prone. And in any case, if 'any searchable field' includes the file path, it stands to reason that there should be a way to match that with the entire path. The documentation isn't clear about this, so I hope that anyone can shed some light on this.

  • Advice needed: Efficient way to scan users

    Hi all,
I wish to know the efficient way to scan users in Lighthouse. I need to write a workflow that checkout all the users and perform some updates. This workflow should run everyday at midnight.
I have created a scanner myself. Basically what It did are:
    1. call FormUtils.getUsers method to return all users' name into a variable.
    2. loop through this list and call a subprocess workflow to process every user. This subprocess checks out a user view, performs updates, and then checks in view.
This solution is not efficient at all since it causes my JVM to be Out of Memory. (1G RAM assigned to JVM with about 78,000 users)
Any advice is highly appreciated. Thank you.
    Steve

Ok...I know understand what you are doing and why you need this.
A long, long, long time ago (back in 3.x days) the deferred task scanner was really bad. Its nightly scan would scan ALL users each time. This is fine when your client had 4k users...but not when it has 140k users.
Additionally, the "set deferred task" function had problems with two tasks with the same name "i.e. disable resource" since it used the name as the xml object name which can not be duplicated.
soooo, to beat this I rewrote the deferred task handler to allow me to do all of this. Part of this was to add a searchable field called 'nextTaskDate' on the user object. After each workflow this 'date" is updated so it is always correctly populated with the users "next deferred task date"
each night the scanner runs and querys all users with a nextTaskDate of today. This then gives us a result set that we can iterate over instead of having to list each user and search for tasks. It's a billion times faster.
Your best bet is to store the task date in miliseconds and make your query a "all users with next task date BEFORE now"...this way if the server is hosed you can execute tasks you may have missed.
We have an entire re-usable implmentation framework that we have patented (of which this code is a part) that answers most of these types of issues you are bringing up. It makes these implementations much much simpler, faster, scalable and maintainable.

  • Detect potential duplicate vendor master records

    Hi all,
Our external auditor has the following comment:
'Match codes and message control can be used to help identify duplicate vendor records. Fields such as “Name”, “Address” and “Country” can be set as searchable fields in order to detect potential duplicate vendor records.  The message control (with identifier “144”) in SAP can give a message prompt when duplicate vendors are identified.
We noted that your system had not been configured to display a warning message if the name or address, etc of a new record is identical to an existing vendor record.'
    Any idea to implement this?
I searched for message 144 and found that there is a similar message in message class F2: 'Vendors found with same address; check', but I cannot find where to trigger this error message.
    Please help.
