Searchable list accross objects to produce a report

I'm trying to design a report which will be shown in the Lead object.
The report contains 2 fields - 'Bank Name' and 'Comments'.
However, I need the user to input the data for these 2 fields and there can be multiple records for this report. Seeing that there are more than 10,000 possible values for 'Bank Name', we cannot use a picklist which limits the values to 1,000.
Therefore, it would make more sense to use the following method but I'm not sure if it will work:
1. create a list of banks in another object, lets say CO3.
2. create a weblink in the report pointing to CO4 object to create the data to be saved. The CO4 page will access the list of banks using a magnifying glass which points to the CO3 object.
What I'm actually trying to achieve is to create a report to display this data which is actually manually entered as a record.
The thing is, there aren't enough 'sections' within the OnDemand objects, so I have to resort to 'Narrative Reports' to display the data, and a weblink to link to another page to allow data entry to the objects so they can be saved and eventually displayed in the initial 'section' within the lead.
This particular report, is actually a 'section' within the lead.
However, to allow editing of the data, I need to include a weblink to another object to enter the data. This will then be saved and appear as data within that report.
Do let me know if this will work.

If NewGL is active on your SAP system,
You can display FAGL_BSBW_HISTRY and FAGL_BSBW_HST_BL database tables via transaction SE16 or create a SAP Query using those tables to get revalued items.

Hi,
The best way to do this is environment analysis. Follow the steps:
1. Open se38, type in the program name (don't click on on display/change or create button, stay on first screen only)
2. Click on environment analysis button (hot key SHIFT+F4)
3. It will throw a pop-up, which will ask for type of object you want to see, which are linked /used by this program. select all (or may be if you are only interested in Tables, then select table only)
4. Hit 'Enter'
You will get the full list of all objects used in this report program. Just note down the one which starts with Z or Y and that's it.

Native Crystal formulas don't work if VB6 is producing the report

I just upgraded from Crystal 6 to Crystal XI (enterprise). (Yeah, OK. I don't rush into things.) About 70 reports apparently converted OK, i.e., they worked when looked at in Crystal design mode. Most have built-in formulas.
Using VB6 to produce the reports (the reports are NOT embedded into the VB project via the Crystal designer; instead I'm creating a Crystal Reports object), none of the built-in formulas work (altho everything else about them looks fine). I can pass data to any of the built-in formulas (including being able to pass the code that originally constituted the formula) and the report will look fine, but I lose the flexibility to simply distribute new reports if I have to build the reports or their formulas into the project.
I've scoured every resource I can find and have seen nothing suggesting this is a common occurrence, so I'm assuming it must be something I'm missing, something possibly subtle? Having just migrated, I'm sure there is lots about Crystal XI I don't know yet, but I would be extremely grateful for any help since I'm under deadline. (OS is Win2K server if that matters.) Thanks.

1. You will find this option beside ? in Add-Ins. In that Settings --> BW Server Connection.
+ Not I didn't find... for example I saw... File.. Edit...view.. Insert... and others exactly like when you enter in excel ... the only difference it's that I saw activated the tool bar for bex analyzer.. on where I saw .. design mode... refresh..etc.+
2. If you select the field in Free characteristics and restrict it with a variable in query designer mode, you will get that characteristic in variable screen and you can give the selection and you will not get that charcteristic in the output as you have taken that in free characteristic. Only if you do drilldown accross rows for that characteristic, then it will appear.
If you take that into Rows in query designer mode, then you will get the same for variable selection and as well as in the output without drilldown accross rows. It will be displayed automatically.
+The clear example is: I have one free characteristic in report, like 0MATERIAL, this characteristics didn't have any restric value... then the user add 0MATERIAL into report just for see more details... later if the user filter 0MATERIAL with some values and click ok, the column 0MATERIAL dissapear from the report +

Is there a tool that could export objects used in a report program?

Hello Experts,
I'm new in ABAP programming, recently my team members wanted to find a tool in the SAP system, which could export a list of objects that used in a report program. For example, I want to figure out what function modules and classes are used in a report program, using the tool, I could get a list that have the name of the modules and classed used and even source code of them.
The function of the tool acts like 'where-used list' showed in the SAP system, but the differences is I do not have to type the name of the objects. The tool is just focus on the specific report program and list the name and source code of the objects used in that report program.
Hope I explain this clearly.
Is SAP system has such tools? Please give me some hints on this.

How to add OLE wordpad objects to a crystal report through VB program

Can we programmatically add OLE wordpad objects to a crystal report XI r 2. through VB.NET or VB6?

Try it in the Designer first. If it works in the designer then it will work in our SDK's but you'll have to use RAS. So when you post your question to the .NET Development - Crystal Reports Forum be sure to specify what version you are using and anything else as far as versions go.
It may be easier to simply link the OLE Object in the designer, check the help file out on how to.

Is there a way to export a searchable list of artists/albums/songs (not the music files, just the text) to my iPhone 4?

Basically, I have an iPod Classic which contains over 17,000 songs. I have a 16 GB iPhone 4. I don't always have the iPod with me, but just about always have the iPhone. Since I am still old school enough to actually buy CDs, I'd like a handily available and searchable list that I can export from iTunes to my iPhone so I can make sure I don't accidentally duplicate a purchase (it happens). I've tried searching the App Store but either I am doing it wrong, or nothing exists as yet. Obviously the phone can't carry all of that music so I am not looking to transfer those files en masse. Just want the lists so I can reference them as needed. Is this a pipe dream or is there actually a way to do this? Thanks in advance...

The prel file is a project file which will eventually be exported to a file which will be your movie.
If all this involves just changing the location where you save your project files routinely, that is one thing.
But, once you move the source media that go into a project which has been saved closed, then you get
into serious media - project reconnect issues.
When you import media into a project, all you get are copies of the originals that are at a hard drive save location.
But, the project needs to trace back to the originals at the hard drive save location where they were when first
imported into the project.
Moving the project file should not get you into trouble; whereas moving, deleting, renaming source media that went into the project will.
If the project is finished, I can see using the Project Archiver to save it in a Copied Folder (saved to the external hard drive).
But, to work from the Copied Folder on a routine basis needs some thinking about. I would think about pointing your project and
it components to locations of your choice (even the external hard drive) for the "next" project but without involving the Project Archiver until you have finished
with the project and want it safely out of the way.

Best Practice for caching global list of objects

Here's my situation, (I'm guessing this is mostly a question about cache synchronization):
I have a database with several tables that contain between 10-50 rows of information. The values in these tables CAN be added/edited/deleted, but this happens VERY RARELY. I have to retrieve a list of these objects VERY FREQUENTLY (sometimes all, sometimes with a simple filter) throughout the application.
What I would like to do is to load these up at startup time and then only query the cache from then on out, managing the cache manually when necessary.
My questions are:
What's the best way to guarantee that I can load a list of objects into the cache and always have them there?
In the above scenario, would I only need to synchronize the cache on add and delete? Would edits be handled automatically?
Is it better to ditch this approach and to just cache them myself (this doesn't sound great for deploying in a cluster)?
Ideas?

The cache synch feature as it exists today is kind of an "all or nothing" thing. You either synch everything in your app, or nothing in your app. There isn't really any mechanism within TopLink cache synch you can exploit for more app specific cache synch.
Keeping in mind that I haven't spent much time looking at your app and use cases, I still think that the helper class is the way to go, because it sounds like your need for refreshing is rather infrequent and very specific. I would just make use of JMS and have your app send updates.
I.e., in some node in the cluster:

What is the best way to produce different report types out of the same SSRS Report

So I have a request to produce different report types based on a "Line Of Business" Parameter that is provided. I know that SSRS sometimes struggles with gathering the Metadata based on IF Statements.
What is the best way to provide multiple different report types with different data based on the "Line Of Business" Parameter that is provided? Can I simply do this via the SQL Stored Procedure? And how so that the Metadata is collected correctly?
Just don't know what the generally accepted business principle is on this and how to go about doing it.

Per my understanding that you have create an parameter (Line Of Businiess) to get diffetent types of report, I would like to confirm with you want do you mean about the different report types?
Is that mean you have table and one column named Report type, you want to filtered on this column? Or the report type you mean is like Parameterized reports,Linked reports,Snapshot reports,Subreports and so on.
If want you want is through the selection of the parameter to change the report type(Parameterized reports,Linked reports,Snapshot reports,Subreports ..),currently it is impossible to acheive this.
If you still have any problem, please try to provide more details information about your reqirements, the sampe data in the table, the report structure you have designed and so on.

List of users in a user report

Hi All,
I have the need to run a user report which reports only certain accountId's . How do i accomplish this.
In the out-of-the-box 'All Users' report i can choose just one accountId at a time. Is there a way i can put a list of accountIds and run the report and report on only that list?

a list used in the singleSelectOne component does not change or set the currency in the list VO (in opposite to the navigation list). So this synchronization needs to be done programmatically. Examples of dependent list of values are available here

CFREPORT Fails to produce formatted report, i.e., PDF

What can I do to restore the CFREPORT Output to normal allowed formats? I have had reports working without error for FIVE YEARS and suddenly the now the report output for LARGE datasets produces ONLY the Symbolic language of the selected FORMAT, i.e., PDF, FalshPaper, etc. Small datasets produce the report; large datasets dump a query and then display the "gobble-de-****" language of the format elected.
Will reinstalling Coldfusion help?
This is a server running in VMWARE, 64-bit Windows Server 2008; Coldfusion 10, 64 bit.

For haveing connection b/w portal and R/3 you have to create System, for that navigate to System Administration - - < System Configuration - - < select new and create system here have to provide all the usefull details now create Aliase for this system now do user mapping from user Administration - - < User Mapping for this system and specify user id and passord here.
now do connection test for this system connection should be correct
after creating system you have created bridge b/w portal and your R/3 systen now deploy your Applications on portal and create iview out of this deployed item iviews here will work like Selection Screen in SAP ABAP.

Entity object attribute with a list of objects

Does anyone know how one sets up an entity object that has an attribute with a list of objects as the type? (assuming that's supported)
as in:
CREATE TYPE phones AS VARRAY(10) OF varchar2(10);
Create table suppliers (supcode number(5),
Company varchar2(20),
ph phones);
The SOA Suite in jDeveloper (new Entity Object/attributes etc) has an ARRAY that can point to REF or OBJECT. Neither work. When I try to Create DB Object later from the Entity Object I've created I get an invalid type.

What you suggested about "validation codes on the VO" is not written on the ADF Documentation.
I try to blindly/strictly follow best practices (particularly on Validations, using Declartive and/or built in validators) on most ADF documentation and blogs but there are many scenarios on coding some large ADF projects that I think must veer away from the best practices stated on the documentation or maybe add new rules on the documentation depending on how complex an ADF project would be.
I religiously followed best practices stated on the documentation to use Entity and Attribute Validators when performing validations. What I did was i had created lots of Custom Validators (by implementing JboVAlidatorInterface interface) for each of the attributes on an Entity Object that need validated. So those validator is valid only for one attribute, its not reusable. And those validation codes either have reference to a ViewObject or call some PL/SQL procedure. So at some point are codes became messy.
Ultimately the whole project became harder to manage when the codes became large. Now I am trying to refactor the whole application by separating it into project/package and I am hoping to do it with little Re-coding as possible.
Hope to get your opinion on this one.
