Searching java sdk documentation

My question is: "Is there a way to search the Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition Documentation using JDeveloper?"
I know how to browse it, using either browse javadoc or through the help file, but when I do a search using the Help Navigator it does not go trough the Java reference documentation. This is rather inconvenient. I've been looking for answers on this issue in this forum but found nil.
Thanks for any help.

The only references and documenation is [here|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/sdklibrary]
Typically new methods and such are not introduced in a current product version so most likely nothing has changed in the SDK.  It does sometimes happen and when it does new documenation is usually released.

  • BOXI 3.1 SP2 and java sdk documentation and api refs

    I have a question regarding the status of the java api references for BOE, REPENG, RAS:
    Yesterday we upgraded the 3.1 system from build 12.1.0882 to 12.2.099.BOE_Titan_SP_REF, which is XI 3.1 SP2.
    When we look at SDK documentation in the Business Objects Community Network (former Diamond)  we see that the api refs are still from July 2008.
    Can you tell if we can get a more current api ref documentation for BO Enterprise, Report Engine and Report Application Server SDK anywhere else?
    Thanks,
    Bernd

  • Is there a Java SDK for Siebel Analytics/Oracle BI

    Hi, I want to integrate with Siebel Analytics (now known as Oracle Business Intelligence, right?) to our product. Is there a JAVA SDK for Siebel Analytics/Oracle BI? If so, can anyone point me to the right place to get them. Much appreciated.

    There is currently no JDK or any other API to work with OBI EE (formerly Siebel Analytics).
    The presentation component exposes some functionality via web services.
    You can interact with the BI Server via NQCMD so you could build your own application that executes NQCMDs but this is not well documented other than typing NQCMD ? at the command line.
    The OBI Metadata is captured in a .rpd file which can be manipulated via UDML but this is not supported - do a search on Google for UDML (which is a proprietary format) for some examples on using this. OWB recently rolled out with some integration with OBI - it accomplishes this by manipulating the .rpd file using UDML.
    The Oracle folks monitor this forum. If you can reply with some specifics as to what you want to accomplish, I'm sure they will consider your needs if they decide to publish an API.

  • Installation Problem - Java SDK 1.4.1

    I have a problem with installing Java on my machine at home that you may be able to help me with.
    Here are the Details: 1) I installed the most recent java SDK on my machine. 2) I set the Autoexec file with the correct PATH statement. 3) Set the correct CLASSPATH statement 4) The "Java -Version" statement gives the correct reply that it is version 1.4.
    Below is my AutoExec.bat file
    SET windir=C:\WINDOWS
    SET winbootdir=C:\WINDOWS
    SET COMSPEC=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM
    SET PATH=C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~3\OFFICE;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\ATF
    SET CLASSPATH=C:\J2SDK1_4\LIB\TOOLS.JAR;.;
    SET PROMPT=$p$g
    SET TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
    SET TMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
    Problem: Trying to compile a simple "HelloWorld" Program with "javac Helloworld.java" produces the error "Bad Command or File name".
    Issues: Command Line in Windows ME requires 8.3 format. Inserts tilde "~" and a number into the names of the files. even using a short name such as "HelWrld.java" inserts a tilde because of the "java" extension. Have tried using a "jav" extension but that does not work as the error is the same.
    Question: How can I get rid of the "Bad Command or File Name"?

    My First Java Progam (for Windows with Java 2 SDK v1.4.1)
    Follow these instructions EXACTLY.
    1. Download and install the Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition. You can find it here:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/downloads.html
    Select the download for your operating system and be sure to download the SDK (rightmost column) and not the JRE. (The JRE is only the Java Runtime Environment, which does not include the Java compiler and other tools needed for software development).
    2. Read the README and installation instructions! Read these instead of asking questions about installation etc. in the Java forums.
    README for Java 2 SDK v1.4.1: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/README.html
    Java 2 SDK v1.4.1 for Windows installation: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/install-windows.html
    Things to note:
    - After installing, add the bin directory of the SDK to your PATH environment variable. For example, if you installed the SDK in C:\j2sdk1.4.1_01, add the directory C:\j2sdk1.4.1_01\bin to your PATH. (If you don't know what an environment variable is and how to set it, read the documentation of Windows; if you're using Windows XP, this might be useful: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q310519& ).
    3. Open Notepad and type in your first program:
    public class HelloWorld {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    System.out.println("Hello World!");
    Save this program somewhere with the filename "HelloWorld.java".
    Things to note:
    - The case of text is important. Don't type "Helloworld", "helloworld" or anything else. Also the case of the filename is important (even though Windows has case-insensive filenames!).
    - Watch out that Notepad doesn't append ".txt" to the filename. The file should be named "HelloWorld.java", not "HelloWorld.java.txt".
    4. Open a command prompt and go to the directory that contains the file "HelloWorld.java" (with the CD command).
    5. Compile the progam with the following command:
    javac HelloWorld.java
    Things to note:
    - If you get something like "Unknown command: javac" or "Bad command or filename", you did not (correctly) add the bin directory of the SDK to the PATH (see step 2).
    6. Run the program. If you didn't get any compile errors, you now have a new file "HelloWorld.class" in the same directory. Run the program with the following command:
    java HelloWorld
    Things to note:
    - If you get: "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorld/class", you have typed "java HelloWorld.class". Leave off the ".class" at the end. You are typing a class name here, not a filename.
    - If you get something like: "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: helloworld (wrong name: HelloWorld)", you have typed the class name wrong. Note that the case is important (i.e., don't type "helloworld" but "HelloWorld")!
    - You don't need to set any classpath here. In Java 1.4, the current directory is included in the classpath automatically. For older versions of Java, you may need to add the current directory (".") to the classpath, like this:
    java -classpath . HelloWorld
    7. Congratulations with your first working Java program. Now follow these links:

  • Issue about BI JAVA SDK-SOAP request failed with return message 2147483653

    Dear Experts,
    I'm trying to use BI JAVA SDK to connect BW by using XMLA connector.
    But there's an error messaet said :
    SOAP request failed with return message 2147483653 ( Invalid MDX command with INCLUDING)
    I'm really new to this JAVA SDK, and after searching help in SAP Service Market and Google, there's no helpful suggestion.
    please help me about how to fix this error.
    Here is my code:
    IBIConnection connection = (IBIConnection) cf.getConnectionEx(cs);
          IBIOlap olap = connection.getOlap();
          Cube cube = olap.getObjectFinder().
          findCubeFirst((String)null, "ZFI_C11/ZFI_C11_Q001");
        // This is just a sanity check to verify that the
        // cube on which this example relies was retrieved
        if (cube==null){
            System.out.println("no cube found");
    // Didn't print out this message, seems it can connect to BW and get the InfoCube and Query.
        Dimension plantDimension = olap.getObjectFinder().
        findDimensionFirst(cube, "ZPLANT");
      Dimension materialDimension = olap.getObjectFinder().
        findDimensionFirst(cube, "ZMATERIAL");
      IBIQuery query = olap.createQuery(cube);
      IBICommandProcessor commandProcessor = query.getCommandProcessor();
      commandProcessor.moveDimensionToRows(plantDimension);
      commandProcessor.moveDimensionToRows(materialDimension);
      IBIDataSet dataset = query.execute(); // After execute this statement, error happens.
    Thank you!

    Solved myself, it's because the query used in my code have user input variable.

  • LDAP Java SDK errors with iDS5.1

    I'm using the 5.08 java SDK and iPlanet directory server 5.1 SP1. My code works fine on 4.X directory servers but doesn't work correctly on 5.1 SP1.
    Jar file: 262749 Sep 19 15:17 ldapjdk.jar
    Example: LDAPSearchResults.getCount() returns 2 when it should return one. Only one database backend, userroot. When I perform the same search from the command line with ldapsearch it only retrieves one. I viewed the access log and see that it reports "nentries=1." Has anyone seen this before?

    Works fine. Only problem I ran into was when I used the ConnectionPool class!

  • Migration from Crystal IX to BO-XI using java sdk-- very urgent

    Post Author: Pranav.Sharma
    CA Forum: Migration to XI R2
    Need help in migration from Crystal Report IX to BO-XI.
    Currently we are using CR IX and Java SDK to access reports from J2ee application. These reports reside on remote server where we have shared access to that directory.
    We are accessing these reports through our j2ee application.Can anyone please elaborate whether we can use same SDK here with slight change in code probably in authentication related to CMS etc and calling mechanism or we have to go for BO java SDK alltogether. Is anything we are missing here?
    Can anyone please  help as  we have to complete migration in 1-2 days.

    The first thing you will want to do is to publish all of your reports to Business Objects XI and make sure they all still work. Obviously they won't have the dynamic parameters anymore but you should just ensure they all work and are able to connect to their databases. You can use a tool like the publishing wizard to help you.
    All the reports should now be available inside of XI.
    Unfortunately you will need to manually modify all of the 400 reports to use the business objects Dynamic Cascading Parameters DCP.
    There should be some DCP info in the Business Views documentation.
    I hope this helps

  • BI Java SDK: Bex query in Webdynpro java

    Hi,
    I want to know is it possible to view a Bex query output
    in a webdynpro java application. There is a Bex query defined i just want to get the report of this query or atleast the output of this query. Also how will be the output structure? i am not familier to BI plz help. I did go though BI SDK documentation but did not help
    Vinay

    Hi Vinay,
    The BEx query output in webdynpro is with help connectors. the connector SAP query which you were speaking about is one of the four options. I hope this is the link what u were refering to link:[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/6e/011e681cf74ab4b3acf73f77653405/frameset.htm]
    SAP Query is a component of SAP's Web Application Server that allows you to create custom reports without any ABAP programming knowledge. The BI SAP Query Connector uses SAP Query to allow applications created with the BI Java SDK to access data from these SAP operational applications.SAP Query offers users a broad range of ways to define reports and create different types of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists.
    It would be a better option if  with JDBC connector because that worked for me in extarcting data from a different source system.BI JDBC Connector is aslo used to make these data sources available in BW, via BW's UD Connect.
    For the WD code i need to check.
    Please tell me if its helpful.
    Regards,
    Shaila.

  • Execution of BEx Query Designer Querys in BI Java SDK

    Hello experts,
    i am actually occupying with the possibilities of the BI Java SDK. I checked the documentation but could not find an answer to my question, so i address this issue now to the community in the hope, that someone out there can give me a hint:
    Is it possible to execute a BI query, which was designed in the BEx query designer, within the BI Java SDK OLAP query api?
    Is  there somewhere a method, which could be simply passed the technical names of the infocube and  the query and then returns the query result as a IBIResultSet or IBIDataSet?
    Thanks in advance for your help,
    best regards,
    Thilo

    Hello Mohan,
    thanks for this impression - thats a way i didn't think about at all before. I even think, that it is not necessary to publish the query as iview - it would suffice to invoke the BEx-AdHoc-Analysis Service via a HttpConnection-Object within a servlet and then parse the result delivered by the BEx service. You won't even need BI Java SDK for this, since this is plain Java functionality.
    But as i see there seems to exist no BI Java SDK-"generic" possibility to invoke an existing query as i see....
    If anybody has got another idea, it is very welcome. But i think i will investigate on the approach with the native HTTP call to AdHoc Service.
    Thanks anyway & best regards,
    Thilo

  • Where is BusinessObjects Enterprise Java SDK jars located(BO XI3.1)?

    We need to import Business Objects Enterprise Java SDK's jar files. However, there is no document or forum post that have the directory for version BOXI3.1.
    By searching for the cecore.jar file, we find a directory that contains many Business Objects Enterprise Java SDK jar files:

    Hello
    I have Download the JAVA SDK 1.4 Standard from SUN. I have find 4 demo Java Applications but no JAVA Compiler.
    Now someone how I can get the full Java compiler with all librarys and Documentation?
    Kind regards

    If you install the JDK1.4 you should have the compiler. You'll see it under {JAVAHOME}\bin. To compile a java file, you'll have to use javac.
    The API documentation is a seperate download.

  • Java SDK for windows 3.1

    I have an old 486 in my room. The computer that has the SDK is out where my parents can see me when I'm doing my late night programming. I want to be able to put the java SDK on my Packard Bell 486 running windows 98. I searched and searched and searched some more off of google for a Java SDK for windows 3.1. The only thing i can find is IBM's program which they no longer service or even give you links to download their past versions. I am wondering if any of you guys know of any java SDK that will work on my 486 with windows 3.1.

    "I think your parents should buy you a nicer machine for your room. ;-)
    Good luck with that."
    LOL
    I have begged my dad to get a new computer just for the regular comptuer. The computer that I will "get caught" on is over 4.5 years old. When I ask him for another one he always says the one we have works.

  • Retrieving SQL queries used in BO reports using BO Java SDKs
