Searching operation functions differently

I have a strange problem. I created an entity bean with bean managed persistence to work with LDAP.
When I perform a search as in
dirContext.dirContext.search("o=seagate.com", "uid=pwilson", new SearchControls()) ;
and the uid is present in LDAP
I do get a SearchResult from the operation with the object when running from a regular class outside Weblogic a server.
However, if I run the same query from the entity bean, the SearchResult is empty? I have to specify
the entire searchBase, as in say, "ou=People, o=seagate.com" and not just the root to get the search to succeed. Any ideas what I might be
doing wrong or missing. Thanks in advance.

In Logic account the operator function is not working properly

When am defiining the logic accounts using a operator as Function ,it is not working at all showing a red border in the cell and not able to update the grid .
InValue/Exp-> am using a function -> CurVal > 0 then Result=CurVal else Result ="skip" endif

We are using the FDM version 11.1.1.3 and Target as HFM .
Now i am creating a logic account say Item - L1100 ,Type-IN, Criteria value-1100,Operator-Function(Not working),
Value/Exp->If CURVAL > 0 Then RESULT = CURVAL Else Result=”Skip” End If.
As soon as i select the operator(Function) ,it shows a red border on the operator cell and couldn't able to update the grid .
Have searched the OTN discussion forumns and find no answer for this !! Could you please sugesst me if any workaround available for this piece ?

You can!t using af:query. the af:query component comes as is. If you can't do it through the properties, you probably can't do it at all.
As in your other thread, the way to go is to program your own search form. This way you can use a layout and functionality you like.
For this you create a form with input fields for the values you are searching for, put them on hte page in a way you like and in the end by hitting on a button (e.g. called Search) map all inputfields to parameters of a service method you defined in your application module or VO. This service method then executes a view criteria returning all matches in the default iterator (just as if you had used af:query.

IR Default Search operator change

APEX version: 4.0
I want to change the IR default search operator as 'LIKE' instead of 'CONTAINS'. but I know both are simply different by upper(). The APEX generates the IR filter query in where clause as below,
In default the where clause (I selected a column and give the value in the search field)
where (upper("COLUMN_NAME") like '%'||upper(:APXWS_EXPR_1)||'%') )
After Editing the filter and changing the operator as 'Like',
where ("COLUMN_NAME" like :APXWS_EXPR_1) )
Is there any way to change the default operator in IR??

In my case, I ended up using an After Refresh even on the IR so that the selection would go back to the value I want since the values are "forgotten" after a selection is made.

I am facing problem executing Adhoc Query's set operation functionality.
In Selection Tab, following operations are performed :-
Execute a query and mark it as 'Set A'.(Say Hit list = X)
Execute another query and mark it as 'Set B'.(Say Hit list = Y)
In Set operation Tab, following operations are performed :-:-
Carry out an Operations 'Set A minus Set B'.
which results in Resulting Set = Z.
Transfer the resulting set 'in hit list' and press the copy resulting set button.
In Selection Tab, Hit list is populated with Z.
And when output button is pressed, I get to see 'Y' list and not 'Z' list.

You can only use Find My iPhone for accounts that you can log into. If you and your neighbor have different IDs and you only know your ID, than you can only track devices attached to your account.

How to use search/find function in a whole book?

Hi,
New to indesign... working on a book file which comprises 25 chapters.
I'd like to do a final proof to ensure all double spaces have gone, all quote marks are right etc
Instead of opening each chapter and using "search/find" through each chapter, can i tell the "search/find" function through the whole book?

Apparently Adobe thought that would be more appreciated than a book-wide Search/Replace.

Bank statement upload - change posting rule with search pattern function

Hi Experts,
I am trying to set up electronic bank statement. When clearing customer accounts I have some cases where the posting rule should be changed.
I have for example the following text somewhere in the reference field:
CASHPOOL.
If found, I would like the posting rule changed so only GL-area is posted and not a clearing on customer account required.
I set this up in the search pattern
C > G
A > L
S > 0
H > 1
P
O
O
L
GL01 is the posting rule, that only posts area 1.
I have assigned this pattern to the specific external code and also activated it. In the simulation function in the definition of the pattern I get the result (2 hits).
However, when reading the statement (FF_5) nothing is changed and also in simulation transaction FEBSTS or in statement post-processing I do not see anything.
Does anyone know whether I could get around this with the search pattern functionality here? What and how would I need to set it up to cover those case as above?

we have assigned the search string as well as the external transaction in global EBS settings to 031 algorithm`(customer from document nubmer), as in normal cases customer invoices are to be cleared here and this is working fine.
For this search pattern here with GL01 we would like to change the rule.
However, my tests with statement does not work for that. The rule stays as is.
So, from your words I read that I need to have here a second rule that changes the algorithm? Is this possible, what would I need to set so the original use is still working out (that customer items are cleared).

Hyperion Planning search member function error

Hi,
We have a Oracle EPM 11.1.1.3 64 bit implementation on windows 2003 R2 servers. Users are authenticated externally through shared services. For only one user the planning search member function doesn't work correctly.
When the user clicks on the search member function in a data form, he gets redirected to the login page.
Please note that this just happens for only one user irrespective of the machine from where he logs on. For all other 500 or so users the search function works fine.

IOW, is this a weird security issue that only manifests itself in POV dropdowns, or does the security work when trying to retrieve when in rows.
If you create another username with the same security, does it behave the same way?

What character splits search terms (for different search result tabs), searching from the search box.

When we type in a search term, in the search box, the results can be shown in a tab. But how can you split search terms while entering them all at once, each search term providing results in a new tab.
"Search Term|Search Term Two", using |;\ etc only sends the term in entirety beyond. What does this box handle and how to make it open two tabs when given two separated search terms.
So what is this special character or setting?

The solution u provided looks complete except that i am confused by the meaning of strField , may i didnt provide more details in my post .
The strField var i provided earlier was not meant to be placed in my code , the correct one is shown below .However , the strField means according to me is the field against which the search operation should take place based on the ( search Term )
the user provided .
Here is the code after applying the solution u suggested :

Search results are differed in Quick and candidate searches

Hi Everyone,
I am using ECC 6 EhP 5 system with Trex search 7.10.48.
We are having a scenario where search is behaving differently in different places.
We are able to find some Locked candidates in quick Search (ERC_C_QUICK_SEARCH_UI) as well as in Candidate Search.
But as per standard behaviour the Locked candidates should not be able to search in Candidate Search.
So how to restrict the Locked candidates to able to see in Candidate search.
I tried SNOTE 1301016, i confused how to use that one.
Please help if you have faced similar issues.

Problems with the Search/Find function in Reader 10.1.6

I gave in a keyword in a 430 pages dokument (photoshopelements6_help.pdf) and got many search results for different keywords (in bold) but not for my keyword!!

Then it's more than likely a scanned image of text rather than actual text. Unsearchable.
