Second Applet takes time to load

Hi ,
I have an application where I try to open two jsp pages with applets. The applet in the first page runs fine and the applet in the second page waits for the first applet to end (Finish what it is doing). This problem occurs when I run tomcat from local machine and open the jsp pages in the same machine.
Even the init() method is taking time to start and is waiting for the other applet to end.
When I try to access the jsp pages from a remote machine, they work very fine.
I was searching many forums on the applet problems but I haven't come across this situation. Any solutions to this problem?
Thanks,
Sandeep.

In IE there is a limit of 2 concurrent http connections to a given server.
I guess that you are using Http 1.1 so one of the connections is kept open by the browser. So this leaves your 2 Applets with only one connection to utilize which they do serially.
Just to verify that this is the case, set your browser to use Http 1.0. This should allow your Applets 2 concurrent connections so they can work in parallel. The reason for this is that http 1.0 connections are closed immediatly by the browser.
Ultimatelly you'll need to rearchitect your solution to use only one Applet.

    Hi, Twilavegas3.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your restored from a backup and the apps that are missing on the device show "Open" in the App Store, then they are located on other pages on your iPhone or are in folders.  Also, with the iOS 7 update most developers have changed icon badging.  This can cause some applications to be difficult to find.

  • Scorm pkg made up of number of FLV files takes time to load in LMS

    Hi everyone,
I m creating the scorm packages in captivate. The source, i have received in MP4 format which I am converting into FLV files. I have loaded these FLV files on to slides in captivate. This way I am creating the scorm package using scorm 1.2 settings.
Problem: I have loaded the scorm package to LMS and tested it. It takes longer to load the files than the usual time. Can I reduce this time frame somehow? I know video needs a buffering time, but if there's any way to reduce this time - it would be a great help.
    Pls help..
    Thanks & regards
    Vikas

    Hi Vikas,
The time it is taking is because of the size of the project and the load on the bandwidth at your end.
Basically, you need to reduce the size of your package. So, to do that encode your FLV videos to a smaller size using Adobe Media Encoder. And then add them to the slide again and re-publish the SCORM package.
Tip : While Encoding, Keep the level as Baseline or Low and Target Bitrate as least as possible, it would display your the expected file size at the below, when you use custom encoding settings.
    Good Luck.

  • Dashboard takes time to load?

I dont even have that many widgets up, just the weather, date, converter, calculator and chuck norris fact generator. Yet when i press F12, it can take a good 10 seconds for it to respond. Is this normal?

I noticed that in the list of fixes for the 10.4.6 update (the previous version), that it lists this as one of the fixes:
[b["Addresses several AppleScript issues, including: Preservation of property values in Script Menu, a potential Bonjour issue with "choose remote application", an invisible "choose application" dialog issue, and improved compatibility with Dashboard widgets and applications."
So, it's possible that there is a dashboard problem with some systems.
Perhaps you should try downloading and re-installing the Combo updater for your system.
For example, if you are not wanting to upgrade to the new 10.4.7 yet, you could just download the Combo updater for 10.4.6 and re-install that.
It would possibly fix any issues that might exist in your current installation.
If you are ready to install 10.4.7, then just download the Combo version of that one, and see if that fixes it.
You should, of course, make sure you have all your data backed-up before installing the 10.4.7 update just in-case your system doesn't like it.
Naturally, repair permissions both before and after you install either of the Combo updates.
    Hope this helps.

  • My dashboard taking long time to load in ipad compared to Desktop. Experts need suggestion to tune my dashboard.

    Hi Experts,
I have developed dashboard with BEX query as a source(9 queries used in dashboard). This dashboard opens in 40 secs in BI launchpad but if I open same dashboard through SAP BI app it almost taking 3-4 min. Is there any ways to improve performance in Ipad?
    Info of Dashboard
    * 20-25 components using in dashboard
    * 100-150 formulae are used(VLOOKUP)
    * SAP BO 4.0 SP6 I am using
Please need some tips to improve performance.
    Regards
    MAHANTESH

    Hi MH,
Opening the dashboard in 40 secs in desktop is also a problem before jumping in to the ipad. Maximum it should take 5 - 10 secs to open the dashboard then only the clients will show interest on working with dashboards.
    * 20-25 components using in dashboard
    >>Check for unused components and try to remove it from the dashboard.
    * 100-150 formulae are used(VLOOKUP)
    >>Try to minimize the formula in excel, because the excel formula will throw lot of load at the time of processing the data. Instead of lookup's try to use index formula which is better than that.
    1. Use "Refresh after components are loaded" which will make you components gets loaded first then the data comes.
    2. File menu --> document properties. "Show Loading status" which explains or dashboard where it takes time to load.

  • Recently my movies and videos take forever to load and when they start playing it's for a second or two at a time. Have to hit the play icon over and over, did not use to be this way they work great on my desktop and iPod

Recently I have been experiencing my downloaded videos and online vids taking a long time to load and when they do, they will only play for a few seconds at best and you have to hit the play icon over and over. Never had this problem before with the 20 plus vids I have any suggestions would be appreciated

I finally resolved my problem after spending way too much time on it. I simply handed my 160GB iPod to my husband to put his fav Stones & Beatles songs on and I went back to my 80GB Microsoft Zune which has never disappointed me.
After spending so much time trying to figure this out I did finally take it back to Apple Store who performed a diagnostic and found there was a problem with the device. They replaced it with a refurbished one which has similar issues. All I wanted to do was listen to my music. Was that too much to ask? So I am happy to be free of this problematic device. No more Apple for me!!

  • Why when I click on an app it takes a long time to load, like eBay or Pinterest.

When I click on my apps, like Pinterest or eBay, it takes an extremely long time to load. This has just recently started happening and to my knowledge nothing has changed. Safari still appears to be running normally. Can anyone help me?

    1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
    2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

  • Captivate project takes long time to load on LMS

So I developed a bunch of Captivate 7 modules for a course I'd been working on for some time. When I finally loaded these up on the LMS, I notice that when the modules are launched, a pop-up window opens with a grey background and just stays like that for up to 3-4 mins. I figured grey, because that's what I had set as the HTML page color in the skin editor. However the actual module contents take really long (3-4 mins) to load up. When I tried running all these modules locally from my computer, the grey screen fades into the splash animation within a second.
I figured that this was either due to a bandwidth issue or the LMS causing problems. So I then had these modules tested from our India and US offices (different internet connecttions, multiple LMSs). Same thing happened, takes up to 3-4 mins to transition from the grey screen to the splash animation (but loads up instantly when run locally). We then tried this on multiple LMSs like SABA, Moodle, and even tried this on SCORM Cloud and the same issue. The modules takes a long time to load up, so I kind of ruled out the LMS/bandwidth being an issue.
I'm speculating here, but what I think is happening is that the SCO is trying to download the entire module (about 10MB) to the users machine before it plays the splash animation -- if that's the case then is there a way to avoid that? I mean I don't want a 200 slide Captivate published project to be downloaded right from clicking the launch button -- it could stream through as the user advances through the module. Also, I've seen some pre-loader and Start/End options but not sure how those work.
Important to note here, the 3-4 min wait time from when the module is launched, is only for the first launch. If I were to close the browser popup (in which the SCO opened), and click launch again from the LMS, it's loads up almost instantly -- so I'm pretty sure something's happening in my Captivate project's loading settings which I can't put my finger on.
Can anyone help me figure out why this is happening and also what are some possible fixes to this. I can assure you that it's not an internet bandwidth issue because we've tested it on multiple internet connections and on several LMSs (even the client's LMS that this was tested on says that the initial load up takes too long).

All the symptoms you quote sure sounds like a bandwidth issue to me.
Obviously when you load a project directly from your hard drive then there's no issue with bandwidth.  But if you're pulling down 10 megs from a web server and it takes a while to start then bandwidth is the obvious issue.  I agree that 3-4 minutes sounds excessive for a 10 meg file but that depends entirely on how many users are sharing your bandwidth.  Try getting your people in these different locations to visit one of those websites that allows you to test your actual bandwidth.  It might not be as much as you think.
On another note...What do you have your preloader set to?  The default is 100% but you can usually set it to something like 25% without too much trouble.  That should cut the start time down appreciably but nothing is going to eliminate it completely because there'll always be some initial lag the first time your learners view the content.

  • OS X 10.5.6, Safari 3.2.1 hangs when second applet loaded is signed applet

    Dear Forum,
I've been investigating a customer's problem. She is trying to use our
VoIP applet, but it continuously freezes Safari when the Trust dialog shows.
    A "Force Quit" is necessary.
I managed to reproduce the problem consistently on
    - PowerMac7 OS X 10.5.6 (Build 9G55)
    - Architecture: ppc
    - Safari 3.2.1 (5525.27.1)
    - JVM 1.5.0_16 from Apple
    The problem is persistent when:
    - the signed applet is loaded as second applet in the browser
    - the signed applet is cached by the JVM
    Our customer uses:
    - Mac Book ProOS X 10.5.6
    - Safari 3.2.1
    - JVM 1.5.0_16 from Apple
This problem does not occur on:
    - Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Mac Powerbook G4)
    - Safari 3.2.1 (4525.27.1)
    - JVM 1.5.0_16 from Apple
    and not on:
    - MacBook Air, OS X 10.5.6, 1.6 Ghz Intel core 2 duo
    - Safari Version 3.2.1 (5525.27.1)
    - JVM 1.5.0_16 from Apple
    Steps to reproduce the problem:
    Launch Safari.
    In (first) page/tab go to
    http://www.javatester.org/version.html
(this uses a non signed applet)
Open a second tab. Here go to:
    http://ukapi.phonefromhere.com/talk/vtop2.xsql?key=01612884242
This is a signed applet that will ring our office over VoIP.
Click the "Trust" button (signed by PhoneFromHere).
As long as this applet isn't cached by the JVM this will work, so
the first time you will succeed.
Now Quit Safari (not "just" close all Safari windows, but a "real" quit) and repeat the exercise.
The second (and next) time this will fail (only if the signed applet is loaded as second, so the order is important)! This keeps failing until I go (back) to the Java Preference window (via Finder) and explicitly delete the cached files.
The URL will work when loaded first (cached or not).
    Some diagnostics, that might help:
I configured the Java Preference window to "enable Logging, Tracing and Show applet livecycle exceptions".
When the applet fails to load (and Safari freezes/hangs), the last few records of the plugin150.log are:
    <message>basic: Loading http://ukapi.phonefromhere.com/talk/lib/pfh.jar from cache
<message>basic: Reading cached JAR file from JRE 1.5 release
<message>basic: Certificates for http://ukapi.phonefromhere.com/talk/lib/pfh.jar is read from JAR cache
<message>security: Loading certificates from Deployment session certificate store
<message>security: Loaded certificates from Deployment session certificate store
<message>security: Checking if certificate is in Deployment session certificate store
    (and then nothing)
whereas when it succeeds to load, as soon as I click the "Trust" button, it's say:
<message>security: User has granted the priviledges to the code for this session only
The Report is a bit too long to port, I'll include the same text above when sending it.
    Model: PowerMac7,2, BootROM 5.1.3f0, 2 processors, PowerPC 970 (2.2), 1.8 GHz, 2 GB
To cut a long story short? Is this a know bug (I couldn't find anything, but you never know)? Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks, Birgit

I have the same issue now after downgrading my Flash plugin. I downgraded from 10 to 9 latest because I like using Camino and for some reason Flash 10 doesn't play nice with Camino. But all of a sudden as I use Camino 2b2 for everyday and Safari 3.2 for banking and such, the browser hangs requiring a forced quit when I close it. I've re-installed the browser twice now with all the previous folders, and preferences erased and caches emptied. I even when to re-installing 10.5.6 and it still crashes, it's odd. Maybe 10.5.7 will address this.

  • Azure Data Sync Log Take Too Much Time to Load

    Hi,
I've found that the Azure Sync Log inside the Portal take too much time to load if my sync group was created long time ago. i.e. for those new sync group with only a few logs, it will take around 5 seconds for loading. However, I've many sync group created
more than 1 year, and it will take me up to 10 minutes for viewing the first page of the logs.
It seems the Portal will download ALL the logs to my browser even I just want to view the most recent logs (maybe I just want to view the last 10 records, but it will download the whole 5000 pages?)
It will be great if the Portal only fetch the data of the page I am currently viewing, instead of fetching all the logs.
Is there any ways to speed up the log loading time?
    Michael Yung

    Hello,
I suggest you post a feedback on

    OK. If you believe that.
When the disk is starting to die it can be bad for a moment and then be good for a while. If there was no problem while you were checking it of course it shows up good.
I tell you those are the signs of a disk that is about to die.

Firefox is running really slow and takes ages to load a website if it loads at all, i'm having the same problem with other browsers but Skype and Windows Messenger are working fine. Can you check your Windows Firewall settings? It's possible that it's routing Firefox requests differently. At least one other Firefox user has reported that his Windows Firewall was set to block Firefox 3.6.
