Secure BAPI/RFC call

Hi All,
Iu2019m wondering if I can set up a secure connection between MII and ECC when I'm working with BAPI/RFC calls. I heard that MII supports the SAP proprietary interface called Secure Network Communication (SNC), but I donu2019t know if it is already enabled or if I should to do some additional configurationu2026
Does anyone have any experience on this topic?
Regards,
Henry

Hi Henry,
I never setup a SNC with MII. I can't see any properties in the JCO. In the JRA exist some properties for SNC.
Take a look on this:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/96/a4804258544b76e10000000a155106/content.htm
Thats all what I know about SNC.

  • FILE to multiple BAPI/RFC calls

    Hi,
    I have one input source (CSV with about 100 rows) and I wish to call a custom rfc for each row in my spreadsheet. (The custom RFC has a single flat import structure as opposed to a table or anything complex).
    I am struggling to do this in XI.
    I assumed I needed to assign one source to multiple targets in the Message interfaces, but this errors on activation due to the RFC occurrence being set to 1.
    Do I need to do the same trick as with IDOCS or am I missing the point somewhere?
    I have read several threads and one in particular seems to indicate it is possible, but so far this has evaded me.
    Re: BOM CREATION
    Please could you point me in the right direction.
    Thanks
    Andrew

    Andrew,
    You could read the CSV file into an Integration Process
    Save the message in a multiline container (in your case 100 rows)
    Create a block
    Create another container to hold the single row defined within this block
    Set the following for the block
    <b>Step Name</b>          eg SplitForRFC
    <b>Mode</b>               ParForEach
    <b>Multiline Element</b>     Multiline container defined above
    <b>Current Line</b>          Single line container defined above
    The <b>Mode</b> 'ParForEach' acts like a loop
    Then within the block create a synchronous Send step which calls your RFC
    <b>Design</b>
    I would question having to make 100 RFC calls
    If possible change the design so that the RFC interface can accept multiple messages and the RFC logic to loop through them and process the messages one at a time

    Mike

  • Serialize BAPI/RFC executions to avoid locking issue

    We have an XI interface that calls and executes a BAPI/RFC to create an invoice receipt against a purchase order in R/3.
    While the BAPI/RFC is running, it locks the purchase order.  If another XI call to the BAPI/RFC is initiated to create an invoice receipt against the same purchase order, the second BAPI/RFC call will fail in R/3 due to locking.
    I have the following questions:
    In XI, can we serialize the execution of the BAPI/RFC so the second call will start only after the execution of the first one is complete in R/3?

    Hi,
    no and yes
    no: not in standard
    yes: there are workarounds - you can wrap the
    BAPI in a RFC in which you can control it
    (I used this solution and it works)

  • Tracing of BAPIs/RFCs

    Hi,
    I need to trace the BAPI/RFC calls for some transactions. I have tried to use ST01 and ST05 for tracing but I am not able to get detailed trace files having the function calls.
    Can anyone suggest how to generate these trace files?
    Thanks,
    Kapil

    hi,
    Thanks for your response. Is there any other settings I need to do to log all the RFC/BAPI calls? I can see the trace file but all the details are not logged in it.
    Thank you,
    Kapil

  • User Name and Password for JCO RFC call to BAPI

    Hi all,
    What I think I know:
    --We do NOT have Single Sign On configured so don't tell me to use SSO please - I agree, but...
    --We have a requirement to do a goods receipt which prints labels for the handling units
    .....The printer to which the labels are directed depends on the user who is running the transaction
    What I think this means
    --We will need to specify a user name and password in the RFC call so the label will go to the correct printer
    --I cannot use the IllumnLoginPassword (or whatever its name is) for the password
    --I need to prompt the user for their password a second time after they login to our MII app
    The problem
    --I will need to store the password somewhere for the duration of the session
    ......In session variable that has been encryted
    .............I didn't see an encryption action block so I could create my own
    ......In the database using database column encryption
    .............A little bit of a pain, but not too bad
    Any corrections, alternatives, ideas .... ???
    Thanks,
    --Amy Smith
    --Haworth

    Thanks for the attention guys.  A little clarification.
    1.  I have been assuming that I cannot use the IllumnLoginPassword for the JCO SAP password in the action block.  If this is NOT true, then it solves my whole problem.
    2.  It would not work to prompt a shop floor person for their password every time they do an operation completion.  Well, at least
    if I don't want to not get lynched!
    3.  I am planning on prompting people every time they log on for their ECC password and retaining it somewhere secure while they are logged on (and longer if they skip the logoff step.)
    4.  I have been focusing on how/where to retain the password, but also need a way to encrypt it during transmission.  Jeremy said the applet/BLS would at least encode it for me.  That is good.

  • BAPI/RFC for Service Complaints Creation in CRM 5.0

    Hi,
    We are working on the Complaints and Returns module in CRM 5.0. We have found the Transaction Code for the same. (CRMD_BUS2000120).
    Not able to find the BAPI/RFC for the same.Let us know if any. Appreciate your comments on the same.
    Thanks,
    Moorthy

    Hi,
    Thanks for the response
    I am not talking about Service Order. I have requirement to create a Service Complaint. For that the transaction is CRMD_BUS2000120. Now I need to find the function modules/RFC available for this requirement.
    Hope it clarifies .
    Even I have found function module called -CRM_COMPLAINT_API_CREATE but not sure right one
    Thanks,

  • Is there any way to limit the number of RFC calls from xMII to SAP R/3

    Hi All!
    I wanted to know whether the number of simultaneous RFC connections made from xMII to SAP R/3 system can be controlled in any way. Suppose we have a scenario wherein some million Sales Orders or Production Orders are to be updated in SAP R/3 from xMII in a short span of time. For all these updations to take place, multiple RFC calls will be established from xMII to SAP at the same time. This will increase the load on the SAP R/3 system and affect performance of the SAP R/3 system. Is there any check on xMII side to limit the number of RFC calls that can be made to SAP R/3 system?
    Regards
    Anupam

    Anupam,
    If you are using 11.5 just keep in mind that the JCO connection points to a single application server (based upon the SAP Server alias connection settings), but the traffic itself to make a BAPI request is effectively the same as any client user traffic.  There will obviously be limitations on performance and throughput, with network and server constraints added to the number and size of the R/3 requests, but there is no magic formula to plug-in because of all of these variables.
    If you are using 12.0 (or plan to migrate when it goes GA) then taking advantage of the JRA (java resource adapter) and the associated application server pooling that it offers on the NetWeaver side of things will greatly help you in the throughput capacity.
    If you have put some of your xMII application into either test or productive use and are running into issues then I would highly recommend entering the specifics into the customer / partner support portal so that they can help you through any associated problems.

  • RFC-Call from a xslt/javamapping error

    Hi.
    We implemented an Szenario IDOC to Mail(attachement).
    Our incomming IDOC is a standard-IDOC from SAP.
    ISU_INTERVAL_USAGE_INFORMATION.ISU_VDEW_MSCONS
    our Target is an EDIFACT-File attached to a mail.
    We did this succesfully before in a similar Szenario with UTILMD-IDOCs to a CSV-attachement of a mail.
    Because there is no Mailinformation in these IDOCs, we do a RFC-Call to a backendsystem (SAP-ISU) wich delivers the information selected by the IDOC-number.
    This is the XSLT for this call:
      <xsl:variable name="maildata" select="emailadress:new($param1, $param2, $inputparam)" />
      <xsl:variable name="from" select="emailadress:getSenderEmailAdress($maildata)" />
      <xsl:variable name="to" select="emailadress:getReceiverEmailAdress($maildata)" />
      <xsl:variable name="cc" select="emailadress:getCcReceiverEmailAdress($maildata)" />
      <xsl:variable name="bcc" select="emailadress:getBccReceiverEmailAdress($maildata)" />
    when I test the Mapping in the Integration Builder, the RFC-call gives us the following error message:
    08:42:39 Teststart
    Creating XSLT mapping iDoc_MSCONS_to_Mail
    URIResolver called with href = iDoc_to_MSCONS.xsl and base = iDoc_MSCONS_to_Mail.xsl

    Hi Harald,
    I guess this is the IDEX package delivered by SAP?
    In the latest version of the package SAP also deliveres a package for eclipse to test the mappings.
    Also make sure that your data in IS-U (serviceanbieter) is maintained correct!

  • RFC call on click of button

    Hi,
    I need to make RFC call to  ABAP function module with some input parameters.
    On click of a button, I need to navigate between views based on returned values.
    I have followed steps similar to FlightList example. Created a  model, custom controller and all necessary contexts between them.
    Basic RFC connection seems to be working fine (I tried to populate a table with the return values for testing purposes) as the table header gets the appropriate values based on model... but the actual values are not being returned.
    Please guide me what needs to be done with
    1) ButtonAction() method,       2) DoInit( ) method of the model,     3) ...Bapi_execute( )
    Or give me the steps to start from fresh, whatever is easier...
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Dil

    Hi
    Steps:
    1. First create an instance for bapi and bind the instance to the bapi node.
      Z<bapi name> zb=new Z<bapi name>();
      wdContext.nodeZ<bapi name>. bind(zb);
    2. Then if u have the import parameter u have to set them by using
        The instance of the above bapi.
        Zb.set<import parameters>;
    3. Then Execute the bapi after setting the import parameters.
    4.  If there is any export parameters, then get the values after execution.
    public void onActionsubmit(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent )
        //@@begin onActionsubmit(ServerEvent)
    Z<bapi name> zb=new Z<bapi name>();
      wdContext.nodeZ<bapi name>. bind(zb);
    Zb.set<import parameters>;
    try
                   wdContext.nodeZ<bapi name>_Input().currentZ<bapi name>_InputElement().modelObject().execute();
         catch (Exception e)
                   wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportWarning("Exception:"+e);
    // code for getting values from response node
        //@@end
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Arun

  • XI RFC call failing

    Hello,
       I am setting up a very simple scenario where I am making a sychronous RFC call to a BAPI in R/3 (Version 4.6c) from an XI Sandbox (Version 7.0).
       I have the RFC Communication channel properly configured, or so I think, and have verified everything else as well. I initiate the message from the Runtime Workbench and it shows with status "Successful" in the Message Monitoring section. However, when I look in SXMB_MONI transaction I am unable to find a response message from the BAPI coming back in the payload. I notice that even though the scenario is synchronous, the "Type" column in the SXMB_MONI transaction results shows it as "Asynchronous". Also, in the message details there is a Payload (which I am sending when I create and send the message from the RWB), in every step, until the Call Adapter step. After that there is no payload in the Call Adapter or the Response steps, just the SOAP Body with the Manifest.
       In the message details I see that the <SAP:Processing Mode> entry is set to "Asynchronous" rather than "Synchronous".
       Does anyone have any idea why this is so?
    Thanks,
    Murtaza.

    Hi Amitabha,
       I looked in the location you suggested and got a list of "Success" messages. These are listed below for you to look at:

    2007-06-18 15:17:55 Success The message was successfully delivered to the application using connection RFC_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System.
    2007-06-18 15:17:55 Success The message status set to DLVD.
       The problem that I am seeing is that this is posted under the list of Asychronous Received Messages. Thats something I am just unable to understand. I have a Synchronous Outbound Interface defined and an RFC Communication Channel, which is Synchronous as far as I know. So why is the processing mode for the message being chosen as Asynch? Which config setting have I missed that is causing this problem? I am just unable to find the answer so far.
       I appreciate your help. Please let me know if you have any clues.
    Thanks,
    Murtaza.

  • Problem passing a table parameter in rfc call using the function control

    I try to pass a Table as parameter to a Function Module using the SAP.Functions library (part of SAP frontend controls) from a Visual Basic (VBA) program.
    The function module has been verified to work when invoked from SAP FrontEnd Function Builder.
    The SAP RFC Control is created with
    Set sapFunctions=CreateObject("SAP.Functions")
    Following code snippet shows how I attempt to set exports and add a table row before calling the function module:
    sapFunctions.Connection = sapConnection
    Set sapMaterialUpd = sapFunctions.Add("Z_SD_BAPI_SALES_DATA_UPD")
    With sapMaterialUpd
    <i>'set exports</i>
         .Exports("PA_GLPUPDLEVEL") = "S"
         .Exports("PA_VKORG") = "FI14"
    <i>'append table row</i>
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD").AppendRow
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "VKORG") = "FI14"
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "MATNR") = "W_3100"
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "DATBI") = "99991231"
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "DATAB") = "20041231"
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "KBETR") = "2222"
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "KONWA") = "EUR"
    End With
    <i>'call the function module</i>
    If sapMaterialUpd.Call() = True Then
        <i>'do something with the return tables here...</i>Else
        Debug.Print sapMaterialUpd.Exception
    End If
    The Call() returns <b>FALSE</b> and the exception is <b>"SYSTEM_FAILURE"</b>. The connection also resets.
    The local logfile that the control generates shows that an exception occurs at the point of the call:
    <i>10.02.2005  17:54:20.766 Packing Parameters for Z_SD_BAPI_SALES_DATA_UPD

      10.02.2005  17:54:20.986 Function call finished.</i>
    Seen next code snippet. If the Table object is not touched, the function call goes through without any problems:
    sapFunctions.Connection = sapConnection
    Set sapMaterialUpd = sapFunctions.Add("Z_SD_BAPI_SALES_DATA_UPD")
    With sapMaterialUpd
    'set exports
        .Exports("PA_GLPUPDLEVEL") = "S"
        .Exports("PA_VKORG") = "FI14"
        'do <b>not</b> append a table row, for testing only ;-)</b>
    End With
    <i>'call the function module</i>
    If sapMaterialUpd.Call() = True Then
    <i>    'do something with the return tables here...</i>
    Else
        Debug.Print sapMaterialUpd.Exception
    End If
    This code works perfectly when calling the function. It returns TRUE and behaves normally. The function module returns descriptive response text in a table telling that the table was empty, according to the BAPI implementation.
    So is there something special needed here <i>after</i> appending the table row and <i>before</i> making the Call to properly attach the table as a parameter for the function module?
    Can this be a bug in the SAP RFC Control? The version of the wdtfuncs.ocx is 6206.6.45.54.
    Any hints are welcome!

  • RFC call  - issue

    Hi all,
        I have a issue in makeing RFC call to a function module . The scenario is , i have a custom built transactions which in turn call few standard transactions in one server(A) and i want to open these transactions from another server(B) using RFC calls and hence i made a remote enabled function module in server(A) and i called this function module from server(B) using destination. But the transaction that i call inturn call another standard transaction in  its code which in turn call another standard transaction using the statement "LEAVE TO TRANSACTION" . Because of this the RFC connectivity is getting disconnected.
       Hence i made a asynchronous call by using the statement
       call function "xxxx" destination 'd' performing new task 't1' .
       This worked fine & i was able to execute the transaction. But this asynchronous call has destroyed the 2EE server process on the ITS . But with other normal RFc calls everything is running fine .
       What should i do now coz this asynchronous call is killing the performance and server. Can anyone suggest me anyother approach.
    Thanks & regards,
    Rajbarath

    Hi,
    In SM59 Check if Radio button for Trusted System is YES (Selected). Then it should not ask even after that if it asks then provide the password in Logon details in Logon and Security Tab available in SM59 for your Destination System.
    Thanks,

  • Sync RFC call from BPM - message expired

    Hi guys,
    I have a scenario with BPM where I'm doing a sync RFC call to ECC and then I want to process the result. However, the processing of BAPI take approx 5 minutes and my messages get expired after 3 minutes.
    How to resolve this issue?
    Thanks a lot,
    Olian

    Hello,
    Problem might be at BAPI end.  Please check BAPI by executing with your set of inputs. If BAPI goes for exception for yoru set of input values.. you may not get response from R3. So you might have error..
    secondly.. Please post the error in the communication channel and errro in the SXMB_Moni as well.
    Thanks,
    subbu

  • BOM Explosion not happening in RFC call...

    Hi All,
    We are facing a strange issue in our project. We are using a RFC call for order creation. When we execute the FM through SE71 using a BOM material, the BOM gets exploded correctly. However, if the same material is passed through the RFC call, it is not getting exploded.
    The BAPI used for order creation is BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2.
    If any of you have encountered such an issue and know any resolution, please let me know at the earliest.
    Thanks in advance.

    Make sure that you are converting to the internal format when calling via RFC.  Meaning, that you need to have leading zeros for things like sales document numbers.  So if your sales documennt number is 12345, make sure that you are passing it to the RFC call, like 0000012345.

    The same piece of code bundled in an ear and when deployed in SAP netweaver portal gives different errors. My sapjco.jar is in application lib folder and it is referred in classpath
    first time when i access the application url it gives me
