Secure Zone Setup without Customer Registration

How do I setup a secure zone that I control the Username and Passwords?  I do not want the client to register because I want to set up and control all access.

Okay - I've got the client to finally sort paypal pro... but still having issues.
Goal - Paid access to a web app submission form, so the visitor can add an advert to the site
The process as I see it:
1/ Register paypal and pro account - add details to payment gateway settings (done)
2/ Setup web app & setup web app submission form (done - tested fine when no payment requried)
3/ Setup secure zone with paid access requirement - landing page is the web app form (done)
4/ Setup web form to process the payment and give access to the secure zone....
Right... this is where the confusion starts... With Paypal Pro my thought was after they submit the web form - it would then take them to paypal and and ask them to process the payment, then return them to the correct landing page...  right?  Or does it need to ask for credit card details on the form before paypal??
Confused...?
I wish Adobe would put up some proper videos on Adobe TV.. not just the rubbish overview videos... most of the other Adobe products have good videos.  The knowledge base is outdated with old version help... needs serious work Adobe!  BC promises a huge amount, but without proper reasources busy agencies don't have the time... means BC fails to deliver...

  • Secure Zone login form logs user in who isn't registered for it?!

I have a client who runs an eCommerce site through BC.  We have a secure zone setup for his site and he wants to review and approve users before they are given access.  There is good reason for this so please don't bring up counter-points as it is non-negotiable.
Anyway, the secure zone registration form basicly creates a user CRM record and allows them to select a username and password.  I've instructed to client to continue into the CRM and select the checkbox next to the appropriate secure zone in order to authorize the account to login.  As far as we know this has been working until yesterday.  Now, when somebody who has an account but it is not approved yet tries to login, they receive the form error as to be expected.  However they get logged into some phantom secure zone.
I say "phantom" zone because the actual registration form doesn't subscribe them to a secure zone, it's manual (as previously stated).  This is a pretty big issue as a major reason for doing this is that my client doesn't want his prices visible to the public.  Only after the person is in the secure zone are prices visible.  Any help would be much appreciated.  I know BC launched a new update recently which my be a contributing factor....thanks in advance!

    Hi Mike,
This has always been the case.
IF you have a username and password and login to a site you are logged in. You may very well not be part of a securezone but you are logged in. This is why hiding and showing content soley based on the isloggedin module is a very thoughtful process as you can not show content based on this knowledge.
This has nothing to do with the update, you probably only just noticed this behavior but this has been the case since BC born.

  • Single form for secure zone registration and web app submission?

    Hi
Is it possible to setup a form where a user can simultaneously register for a secure zone and submit a web app entry? The knowledge base / tutorials describe a two step process (web form for secure zone registration and web app input form for web app submission), but I would like users to be able to do both with a single form
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
    mls

In order to have a customer create a web app item they must be logged into the secure zone already.  I've seen some instructions on how to let users submit web app items outside a secure zone but that requires creating a dummy anonymous user and logging them into the secure zone via javascript.  You could use this method and once it's submitted you'll have to manually attach the web app item to the correct user in the BC Admin.  That might not work for you but you can read more about that at http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1784
You can't use the above solution with the current user's username and password because those tags are only available when the user is logged into a secure zone already.  If your signup form needs to be filled out first, the user isn't logged in.
Your best bet is to have the public signup form redirect the user after submission to an "Add item" form you have created. Maks sure that form is in a secure zone so when they add the item it is attached to their account.
If you don't want to redirect them to a secure zone and want it more seamless you could try to use some javascript/ajax to submit the form via javascript and after the form is submitted, use the javascript code in the above to log them in (be careful to use the https://yoursite.worldsecuresystems.com url if you are passing username and password info gathered from your form to log them in via javascript/ajax).  Once they are logged in via the javascript you can use more ajax to fetch a page's HTML that resides in a secure zone.  This HTML returned from the javascript can be your "add web app item" form and since they were logged in via javascript (securely, right?) this HTML should contain the right information.  Insert this returned HTML into your form container that held the original signup form and they can continue to add a web app item without having to log in.
This is theory and might work but you'll have to start experimenting with it via javascript.  I haven't actually tried to do this so hopefully some other community members who might have tried this can weigh in here as well.
    Good luck!

  • Help with secure zone/ forum registration

Im having difficulty grasping the secure zone concept and ive spent days watching videos and reading online so I hope someone can help push me forward.
I built the site with Muse, and im using dreamweaver and the BC site (older view) to help edit.  I have a creative cloud subscription.
First I want to create a registration page to collect custom information on users, for example:  The site is about traveling, so I want users to be able to select which countries they have visited, upload a photo, and control their own profile.
I want this user information to control the forums, their own blog, and their own photo galleries.
I'm not afarid of doing the work it till take to get this done but I dont understand if I need to use webforms,  or web app.  The forums module has a default registration page that is very basic, can I use that for a template and just expand it?
Also I attempted to make webforms and use them, however when I publish my site live again in muse, it seems to delete any forms I made in BC, do I need finish using muse and stay away from it now that the basics are complete?
Thanks for your help, and any leads or overall concepts that I am missing would be great!  Thanks!

You can not do that in BC exactly. It is not designed for that sort of site.
You can not use the CRM to build that sort of thing.
You will need to build a blog with webb apps and allow them to submit their own and edit their own web app items. For the forums you have a login for the forums but you can not have their own indevidual forum.
Photo gallery - not using the BC module and will again have to be a web app and limited.
To pull that into a public profile you again can not use the CRM as showing their CRM information is ONLY when THEY are logged in. You would have to replicate their data in another web app. And pulling them together will be hard unless you know ajax etc and still complicated.
You probably better off using a different platform to achieve what your after. Coming from Muse and what that outputs as well your going to have a hard time of it. You can not use Muse to publish if you want more stuff like this because it will just do an all in one publish. If you do stick with BC you have to now Ditch Muse if you watn to do any of this right and more.

  • Secure Zone Customer Activity Tracking

I'm new to Business Catalyst, so this may be obvious to some of you, but I have a question about tracking customer activity on my Business Catalyst site. I can track logins into Secure Zones, but only whether/not the customer has logged into the site.
What I'd really like to do is track a customer's usage of the site - in other words, I'd like to see what a customer's activity looks like on the site. So if a customer goes from Home (secure zone login), to About, to whatever other page. I suppose how much time they spend is too granular, but if I could figure out how to track their site usage, it'd really help me with a client. The only way I can see how to do it on my own is to require users to log in to every single page, which compromises far too much usability.
So, how about it? Is there anyone that can provide a suggestion, either using the BC interface, or using some other type of tracking mechanism?

BC can't do that out of the box. You may want to use Google Analytics for that.
    Cheers,

  • How do I show the details of a customer when they are logged in a secure zone?

How do I show the details of a customer when they are logged in a secure zone?
I want to show the customer details as well as some customer CRM fields that are applied to the customer. None of these are entered via a form, they would be entered by the client. The customer would need to be able to log in to view the information and get an email alert when it is updated. Help!?

    Hi,
You might want to look into customer service zones which allows customers once logged in to see their case, order and own details.

  • View "Related Files" within customer secure zone?

Can I make the "Related FIles" applicable to a customer order in CRM available to the customer from within his Secure Zone account?
If I upload a related file to a CRM Order, can they be viewed or downloaded\printed by the customer also?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi scott.mandell,
You can use {tag_crmform} within the customer order detail layout to render all custom fields and their values.
    Thanks,
    Matt.

  • Best practice for secure zone various access

I am setting up a new site with a secure zone.
There will be a secure zone. Once logged in, users will have access to search and browse medical articles/resources
This is how an example may go:
The admin user signs up Doctor XYZ to the secure zone.
The Doctor XYZ is a heart specialist, so he only gets access to web app items that are classified as "heart".
However, he may also be given access to other items, eg: "lung" items.
Or, even all items. It will vary from user to user.
Is there any way to separate areas within the secure zone and give access to those separate areas (without having to give access to individual items - which will be a pain because there will be hundreds of records; and also without having the user log out and log into another secure area)

my only issue with this is that I have no idea how to open up File Sharing to ONLY allow users who are connecting from the VPN
Simple - don't expose your server to the outside world.
As long as you're running on a NAT network behind some firewall or router that's filtering traffic, no external traffic can get to your server unless you setup port forwarding - this is the method used to run, say, a public web server where you tell the router/firewall to allow incoming traffic on port 80 to get to your server.
If you don't setup any port forwarding, no external traffic can get in.
There are additional steps you can take - such as running the software firewall built into Mac OS X to tell it to only accept network connections from the local network, but that's not necessary in most cases.
And 2. The best way to ensure secure AND encrypted file sharing via the server...
VPN should take care of most of your concerns - at least as far as the file server is concerned. I'd be more worried about what happens to the files once they leave the network - for example have you ensured that the remote user's local system is sufficiently secured so that no one can get the documents off his machine once they're downloaded?

  • Is there a way to make secure zone content unique for user?

Hi, we have a client who wants to have a secure zone on their site which will allow them to upload images and notify the user, so that when they login they will see their particular images (in a gallery with lightbox etc) but other secure zone users cannot see their images, they will only see their own images.
I am looking at a combination of secure zone/web app/image gallery functionaity but cannot work out if this is even feasible (without some had core scripting).
Does anyone know how we can set this up?
    Cheers
    Cam

    Hi,
You can do this via web-apps (placed inside a secure zone). A webapp can be customized to allow users to add and edit their submissions, can be integrated with google maps, can have expiry dates, can require payments, etc. Here's a complete reference: http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/topics/web-apps.html

  • Change Secure Zone Log In detaila

How do i change the log in and password to a secure zone?

The name in the Login Screen is the "Computer Name," and you should be able to change it in System Preferences>Sharing. Since you've already done a secure erase and install, this is not leftover information from your prior use - it presumably came from the registration form you filled out during SetUp Assistant on the first-boot of the new install. There also may also be an Address Book entry with your name and info, also created by SetUp Assistant.
But as mentioned, to comply with the EULA you would have to go back to the original OS, either on this computer or on the one you are keeping at home.

  • Approve account before login to secure zone

    http://trippnyc.businesscatalyst.com/register.html
I've followed the advice in this posting (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4250010) to limit a user's access to a secure zone until an acocunt is approved.
I can't seem to get the approval process to work. Hoping that there is an option either in the webform or the system setting that I am over looking.
Could someone please explain a best case scenario for a "typical" secure zone approval process for allowing a user to register for a secure zone? What steps the administrator should take and if there should be a workflow or anything else.
    Thanks!

    Hi Cody,
So you'd setup your form to collect customer's data, including username and password, but not subscribe them to a secure zone. Once the customer submits the form you as a site admin would look at the form submission and make sure it fulfils your criteria, then click on Subscriptions and add the customer to a secure zone manually.

  • Secure Zones

    Afternoon All
Hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend.
I need the Gurus help on this one as how to best approach it.
A client has 10 case studies they want to publish but it needs to be secured content. The user will be able to fill in a form and request access to view the content.
I have built a web app to hold the "teaser" of the case study and the form they need to fill in.
If I put the case studies in one Secure Zone the user will have access to all 10 of the case studies.
So, my thinking is that I need to setup 10 secure zones and then the administrator can give the user acess to the relevant case study.
Is there a better way of doing this because if oneday they have 50 case studies they will need 50 secure zones which is what we dont want.

By no means am I a guru, but this sounds like a possible case to use E-commerce and Products so the customer Purchases the Case Study.  You could then even offer Discount Codes incase some day you want to reduce the price of each case.  Just my 2 cents hopes it helps.

  • Deployment and application do not have matching security zones

    Hello community,

The qeustion is that, when I publish the application based on this settings and run the "Setup.exe" on a Windows 7 machine I have the exception: "Deployment

Any idea on how to solve this?

    Hello,
To clarify this issue, I would confirm with you the following tips.
    >> 2) Sign the assembly (checked)
    1. If you select the pfx file which is generated by Visual Studio for "Choose a strong name key file",
will it has the same result?
    2. Where did you published your project? Local folder ,web server or any other?
    3. If you create a simple sample with the same stesps, will it has the same issue? If so, you could share that sample with us.

  • Ending a recurrent secure zone subscription

    Hello,
We are selling subscription to a secure zone. Is there any way for the subscriber to end the subscription on the front-end? I've been looking over the modules and could not find anything like that. If that is not possible, will just un-subscribing the client from the secure zone end the recurrent payments?

    Hi Maria,
    Unfortunately there's no front-end option.
The steps for cancelling membership can be found below.
    Cancelling memberships
If a subscriber decides to cancel their membership, the workflow is as follows:
The suscriber will contact you via the contact form on your site (or via a phone call, if you've provided your number online).
Note: If desired, you can create and publish a Secure Zone cancellation form on your site for this specific purpose.
After receiving notification, choose Customers > Customers to access their record, as described in the previous section. Click the Recurrence/Direct Debit link to see the Order Details page, as shown in the screenshot above.
Use the Recurring Status menu to change the setting from Enabled to Disabled.
Next, follow the steps provided in the next section to manually unsubscribe the customer from Secure Zone.

  • Multiple Secure Zones with a Single Login Form

Hello, I've created a login form and 20 different secure zones. I am needing to redirect users to their own personal secure zone automatically once they login (without the need for them to choose the secure zone) Can you please let me know how this can be done? Thank you much

    Hi
    The main difference is :
Using generic secure zone login option : When customer logs in , he stays on the same page. I mean , Generic secure zone in BC doesn't support redirect to other pages . However, he will have access to all the pages that were in other secure zones to which he actually subscribed to.
Using Specific secure zone login form, you have option to redirect the user to specific landing page and user will have access to data that is placed in this specific secure zone.
You may locate the Generic secure zone login form in toolbox > site modules > secure zones > sign in form >  as shown in below screenshot :
