Security hotfix APSB07-02 installation fails
I have followed the instructions given at
http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb07-02.html
to apply the security hotfix APSB07-02 to my CF7.0.2 standalone
server, but when entering:
java -Dtrace.ci=1 -jar wsconfig.jar -upgrade -v
into the command prompt as instructed, I get the following
error:
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external
command
Adobe's instructions are rarely correct, you have to be a
mind reader or know the product inside out to decipher them, so I
don't blame you for finding an issue with the instructions.
Anyway, I would try and run the command like this:
drive:\{cfmx_root}\runtime\jre\bin\java -Dtrace.ci=1 -jar
wsconfig.jar -upgrade -v
FROM the directory that the wsconfig.jar file is in. So if
your wsconfig.jar is in the directory {cfmx_root}\runtime\lib, use
cmd prompt to navigate to that directory and then run the above
command line.
Be sure to back up your existing wsconfig.jar file BEFORE
doing anything else.

Mountain Lion (10.8.5) Security Update 2014-003 installation fails
Hello,
I tried to install the new Security Update for Mountain Lion (2014-003) and received an error message at the end of the installation process a la:
"The installation failed". The Installation fails because of an error. Please contact your vendor (roughly translated from German).
So I didn't found anything on the web to these issue. I remember a similar problem by the last security update too. So now I'm a little bit concerned regarding a virus or something else on my iMac.
May anybody could help, please?
Here my machine data:
iMac May 2011, 3,1 GHz, Core 5, 12 GB RAM
1 TB HDD w/ 3 Partitions (1x Mac, 1x Data, 1x BootCamp WIN 7)
Free storage on Partition 1: 111 GB, 2: 133 GB, 3: ?
Mac OS X 10.8.5
Something missed?
Kind regards

Check firewall options in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options
Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected. If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

Loop while processing cfm pages after security hotfix APSB10-18 installation
Hi,
Everything is in the title...
I've followed the instructions on http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/857/cpsid_85766.html to fix security issue... but after replacing the two files, my .Cfm pages are no longer accessible...
Is it a known issue or what's wrong ? I've read all the coldfusion server log and found no errors :'(
My server is Centos 5 and my Coldfusion Server is 9.0.1
thanks in advance
FrancoisHave you got a request timeout set in CFAdmin? It seems strange that the request doesn't get cancelled at any point.
If the CPU & RAM aren't reacting to this "looping" at all, do you have any evidence that CF is even receiving the request?
What do you get if you put an HTML file in that subdir, and browse to that?
What happens if you put a bogus CFML tag in test.cfm, eg <cfthiswillnotcompile>, and rehit the page?

Security Patch APSB07-02 fails to install correctly
I have followed the instructions (although they skipped the
step about WHERE the wsconfig.jar file should be placed - in the
lib directory, btw) at
http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb07-02.html
and when I run the command "java -Dtrace.ci=1 -jar wsconfig.jar
-upgrade -v" from the lib directory I receive a prompt back that
says the file is "corrupt or the wrong version of wsconfig.jar."
This is for the multi-server version running jrun4 updater 6.
Any help would be appreciated... thanks.I figured out the problem after working with another user on
this forum, so I will post what I sent to Adobe as the answer.
In this security bulletin:
http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb07-02.html
several steps are simply left out of the process. We are using the
multi-server version with Jrun4 Updater 6, so I will use that as my
example and fill in the missing steps. The steps with >>
<< surrounding them are missing from the bulletin.
Backup the existing {jrun_root}\lib\wsconfig.jar to
wsconfig.jar.bu.
Download the hot fix (wsconfig-U6-65311.jar - 2.5 MB).
>> Unzip the file downloaded (wsconfig-U6-65311.zip) It
contains two files called wsconfig-U6-65311.jar and another file
called jrun-hotfix-65311.jar <<
>> Rename wsconfig-U6-65311.jar to wsconfig.jar
<<
Stop all ColdFusion MX servers, JRun servers and IIS (WWW
Publishing Services). Also stop the Windows Management
Instrumentation service to unlock the IIS connector.
Note: This step is important for ISPs. With IIS running, the
connector installer shuts down and restarts each site during the
upgrade, causing the upgrade to take much longer.
>> Move the wsconfig.jar file that you renamed to the
{jrun_root}\lib directory. <<
Navigate to the \jrun4\lib directory and run the connector
upgrade:
cd {jrun_root}\lib
java -Dtrace.ci=1 -jar wsconfig.jar -upgrade -v
Make sure the upgrade completed successfully.
Inspect {jrun_root}\lib\wsconfig\wsconfig.log for errors
Check the version tab of
{jrun_root}\lib\wsconfig\(number)\jrun_iis6_wildcard.dll. The
"Product Version" item name field should indicate 4,0,6,108407
Another way to check the version is to query the
wsconfig.jar directly as follows:
java -jar wsconfig.jar -info
The command should return, "Macromedia JRun 4.0 (Build
108407)".
>> Move the file jrun-hotfix-65311.jar that you
unzipped earlier and save in {jrun_root}\servers\lib.

the database is up and running, the Oracle Listener is also working well.
Any idea??
Thanks so much in advance!
Best Regards,
GerdHi Sunny, hi Markus!
many thanks for your hints!
I've just solved the problem. The problem was, our Listener was not configured correctly.
I've adjusted the listener.ora, tnsnames.ora to the correct hostname - cause, we had a hostname-switch last month and I had forgotten to adapt the Listener...
now the Listener is running as well:

I am not able to access to iphone updates/store; it displays the message under diagnostics 'secure link to itunes store failed'.
I tried to turn firewall off, reinstall itunes and other troubleshoot options but none of them works......
Please help.Update: I tried the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" after everything else either fizzled out or hung up. After going all the way thru the recovery process (up to 100%), I finally got an error message.....it didn't work. And now, when I fire up the computer, I don't even get to that menu with the recovery options....the only thing I can boot into is the screens with the various ways to run your OS (in "safe mode", "safe mode with networking", etc).
I'm not a techie, but I'm guessing at this point, the part of my hard drive that got damaged in the fall was, at the very least, the partition with the recovery data. Couple that with the fact that this cheapo Toshiba laptop didn't even come with recovery disk (or ANY kind of disk, even basic installation software!), I'm screwed: I don't see any way to get a workable computer now without some kind of disk to boot from. So NOW my concern is more about spending the $$ for a new OS and THEN finding out the hard drive has other problems too...is broken in some other way to boot.
How to check this? As I said, I did run "chkdsk" back when I could get into the recovery menu and run the fix-it programs. It didn't note any problems. Thinking of taking this opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista (which I never liked), but I have to know that the computer is otherwise ok....how to be sure? -

HI,
I have installed Cumulative Update 12 for SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 on my SharePoint instances. This was to resolve a known issue faced with the instance. CU12 helped resolve the issue. My company is rather strict regarding security hotfixes. But I am
not sure if this particular hotfix [Security Hotfix (KB2977319)] is required if the instance has CU12 applied.
Tested this on a Lab server, the installation did run fine, the summary log also stated that the KB is applied. But the Build Number did not change. Hence the doubt.

John SYes you must install Security update mentioned in KB 2977319 it is important for SQL Server to be patches with this security update. Without this it could allow an attacker to compromise your system and gain control over it.

Adobe Premiere and After Effects CS6 installer failed to initialize on Mac Book Air
Hi everybody,
I'm trying to install Adobe Premiere and After Effects CS6 for at least a month now.
I have downloaded the .dmg file at the Adobe Website and it starts to initializing the installer, then a error show up:
"The installer could not initialize. Download the Adobe Support Advisor."
There is no Adobe Support Advisor when I clicked on the link. "The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" (http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/)
I've tried this many times, but every time being a failure.

Hello World,
I have this remote server that used to be a sms 2003 secondary site server. We uninstalled the SMS role. And used the server as an SCCM remote distribution point. We also want to install an client agent on that server machine. But no mather how i try
to install the client i always see the same error in ccmsetup.log:

I think the installer finds some remenance of the old SMS_MP. When looking i found some remains in IIS . I tried to remove the remains but still have the same error when installing the client. I uninstalled IIS completly. Can someone tell me where the client
installer looks for the MP version? Would it help if i installed an SCCM MP on that server and the uninstalled it (Upgrade the MP)?Hello Kent, i ran the ccmclean.exe from the SMS2003 Toolkit. It informed me that my system was cleaned. I ran the sccm client setup manualy and found this in the ccmsetup.log

Their must be something remaining that ccmclean can't find or can' access so i ran ccmclean /mp. This did some stuff and told me the system was clean again. I reran the client setup.
Guess what
It worked !

Installation failed due to Download Error
I have just purchased Photoshop and Light room CC on a monthly payment scheme. I have downloaded Creative Cloud, but when I click 'Install' and attempt to download either of these programs (and trials of any other program) I get the message 'Installation Failed'. The only other information given is that it is because of a download error, and that I should contact customer support. How do I resolve this error?

03:14.923: INFO: Released Internet Explorer Installer MutexHi,
We hope your issue has been resolved, if you've found solution by yourself. We would appreciate it if you could share with us and we will mark it as answer.
I am looking to your log find that it's trying to launch DISM from c:\windows\SysNative. You might try build a symbolic link from c:\windows\system32 (where DISM lives) to the non-existent path c:\windows\SysNative. Then check the issue again.
To build a symbolic link, try workaround as Brian's reply to this thread.
